Purpose – The main purpose of this paper is to find out the perception of different respondents' groups related to the factors that influence the online learning for higher education in Bangladesh during the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach – A survey through a structured questionnaire was conducted to gather qualitative information from the 250 respondents (university students, faculty members and administrative officers) in Bangladesh. A questionnaire has been used for collecting primary data, which have been selected using the justification method under the non-probability sampling technique. Findings – The findings of this study indicated that majority of the respondents told that online classes could be more challenging than the traditional classroom because of the technological constraints, digital divide, insufficient data pack to access the material to attend the class, poor connectivity, lack of device, poor learning environment, technophobia, delayed response and incapability of the teacher to handle efficiently the material and communication machineries. Research limitations/implications – Due to time restriction and the COVID-19 pandemic, the study was constrained only to Dhaka region in Bangladesh. Practical implications – The outcomes of the work can be supportive to the governing bodies and proprietors of the higher schooling organizations who are forecasting to adopt online education as a consistent movement in the future. Originality/value – At last, based on outcomes, investigators have presented some recommendations that can be taken into consideration at policy level. The study would help universities to comply with the pressing need to impart experiential learning through online education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to explore the role of gold as a hedge against inflation in the case of the United Arab Emirates. Design/methodology/approach – The study utilizes monthly data on the local sharia-compliant spot gold contract traded on the Dubai Gold and Commodity Exchange (DGCX) and the corresponding consumer price index series over the period December 2015 to January 2021. The econometric approach employed by the study involves a unit root testing procedure that allows the timing of significant breaks to be estimated. A cointegration analysis is then conducted using a nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model, taking into consideration the presence of structural breaks in addition to short- and long-run asymmetries. Findings – The results reveal that consumer and gold prices are cointegrated, which implies that investing in gold can hedge against inflation in the long run. No sufficient evidence, nonetheless, is found in support of the ability of gold to serve as a hedge against inflation in the short run. Originality/value – The findings have several important policy implications for policymakers and investors that are further discussed in the study.

Purpose – This research shows how social media has affected learning at present during the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has become the largest and most convenient area of communication. In the current scenario, it seems that social networking sites not only had a profound impact on our social structure and intra-social interaction, but also affected education in general and learning English language in particular. It has been proven that these various social media platforms have created a realm of digital environment in today's new-age learning. Social media platforms are social networking sites through which people interact and communicate with each other easily and conveniently. Undoubtedly and unquestionably, social networking has been proven to be a global phenomenon that has caused a vast paradigm shift in the world of Learning and education during the current pandemic. Therefore, the present study aims to reach the extent of the impact of the various social media platforms on learning English language during the COVID-19 pandemic from the students' point of view. Design/methodology/approach – The study was conducted at the undergraduate level for English language learners. The sample comprised 166 undergraduate students at Najran University. A survey questionnaire was administered to find out the impact of various social media platforms and social networking sites on learning English language in the academic year of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to highlight possible suggestions for improving future virtual language learning. Findings – The findings of the study contributed to the area of online learning of English language during the COVID-19 pandemic. Final results confirmed that the utilization of social media has been significantly perceived to have positively impacted learning English language in terms of writing style, reading skills, listening and lexical variation, communication skills and grammar usage. Practical implications – The findings of the study can serve as fundamental indicators to implement prompt pedagogical reformations, for which a number of pedagogical implications can be proposed. Another equally important pedagogical implication is to design and provide professional development and training sessions to both students and educators on the ultimate utilization of social media as instructional technologies in the context of English language teaching and learning. Originality/value – This research provides insights in developing policies to assist with the integration and utilization of social media platforms as instructional technologies in the context of English language teaching and learning and how institutions can respond to the advent of advancing technology, especially during and after the COVID-19 era. A model to improve online English language learning process is recommended as a guideline for all educators offering online learning.

Purpose – Drawing on the signaling theory and technology acceptance model, the main purpose of this study was to predict prospective employees' intentions to apply for jobs in a firm, with a special focus on the mediating role of attitudes toward corporate websites and the moderating role of perceived value fit. Design/methodology/approach – Collecting data from a convenient sample of 318 prospective job candidates, the research hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS (version 24) and SPSS Process Macro (version 3.4). Findings – The test results revealed that prospective employees' attitudes toward corporate websites partially mediate the association of corporate reputations, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness with their intentions to apply for jobs in an organization. Noticeably, perceived value fit moderated the perceived usefulness–application intentions link in such a way that the impact of perceived usefulness on intentions to apply appears higher for individuals with a low level (than a high level) of perceived value fit. Research limitations/implications – Consistent with the research findings, a notable theoretical contribution and practical implications for HR professionals have been discussed. This paper ends with outlining some limitations and future research directions. Originality/value – Despite having the salient buffering effects of perceived value fit on the applicant attraction process, empirical study on this theoretical phenomenon is still sparse in a pre-employment context. This may be the first study that demonstrates under what circumstances prospective employees' job pursuit intentions could be optimized in respect of their perceived value fit within a single framework comprised of two theories.

Purpose – Using a newly compiled corpus module consisting of utterances from Asian learners during L2 English interviews, this study examined how Asian EFL learners' L1s (Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese and Thai), their L2 proficiency levels (A2, B1 low, B1 upper and B2+) and speech task types (picture descriptions, roleplays and QA-based conversations) affected four aspects of vocabulary usage (number of tokens, standardized type/token ratio, mean word length and mean sentence length). Design/methodology/approach – Four aspects concern speech fluency, lexical richness, lexical complexity and structural complexity, respectively. Findings – Subsequent corpus-based quantitative data analyses revealed that (1) learner/native speaker differences existed during the conversation and roleplay tasks in terms of the number of tokens, type/token ratio and sentence length; (2) an L1 group effect existed in all three task types in terms of the number of tokens and sentence length; (3) an L2 proficiency effect existed in all three task types in terms of the number of tokens, type-token ratio and sentence length; and (4) the usage of high-frequency vocabulary was influenced more strongly by the task type and it was classified into four types: Type A vocabulary for grammar control, Type B vocabulary for speech maintenance, Type C vocabulary for negotiation and persuasion and Type D vocabulary for novice learners. Originality/value – These findings provide clues for better understanding L2 English vocabulary usage among Asian learners during speech.

Purpose – Even with the Saudi Arabian Government's discretionary measures to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the economic sectors were not spared from the damage. Thus, the paper aims to use a computable general equilibrium (CGE) model to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's (KSA) economy, with a special focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and production. These influence the level of poverty. Design/methodology/approach – The paper adopted the social accounting matrix (SAM) for Saudi Arabia built in 2021 by Imtithal Althumairi from Saudi Arabia's 2017 SAM. The model represents a snapshot of the economy and different flows that exist within the tasks and institutions. Two simulations (mild and severe) were conducted because of the focus on the distributional outcomes. Findings – Decrease in job creation and economic growth were significant evidence from the study's findings. Findings show that more families hit below the poverty line because the negative impacts of the pandemic have shifted the income allocation curve. Findings show that the weakest of the poor are mitigated by government social grants during the pandemic. Research limitations/implications – The paper is restricted to the relevant literature relating to the impact of COVID-19 on Saudi Arabia's economy and evaluated using the SAM model. Moreover, the COVID-19 is still an ongoing scenario; thus, the model should be updated as data utilised for the operationalisation are made available. Practical implications – The information from the suggested model can be suitable to measure the degree of the harm, and thus, the likely extent of the desirable policy feedback. Also, the model can be updated, as data are made available and formulated policies based on the updated data implemented by the policymakers. Originality/value – Apart from the recovery planning of SMEs during the pandemic, the paper intends to stir up Saudi Arabia's policymakers through the macro-micro model to recovery planning and resilience of the economy with emphasis on mitigating unemployment.

Purpose – This study was designed to investigate the impacts of work-family role conflict on job and life satisfaction among three major professionals: doctors, engineers and university teachers. Data were collected through a face to face survey on 60 doctors, 60 engineers and 60 university teachers of different public and private institutes of Bangladesh. Design/methodology/approach – Conducted data analysis were statistical analysis of questionnaires (mean, SD, max, min), descriptive analysis (%), t-test, analysis of variance test, correlation analysis and regression analysis. Findings – The results demonstrate that the university teachers had experienced more work-family conflict (WFC) on job satisfaction and family-work conflict (FWC) on job and life satisfaction than doctors and engineers; however, engineers experienced more WFC in the case of life satisfaction. Purpose – This research should help determine whether development should focus on individual firms or will raising the national development level act like a rising tide and raise the performance of all corporations. Design/methodology/approach – The comparative data used in this study come from 150 Australian (ASX200 index listed) firms and 150 Sri Lankan (Colombo Stock Exchange listed) firms. The research questions are answered via a quantitative research design that uses primary and secondary data. Findings – The findings demonstrate that capital budgeting practices are more influenced by contingency features and sophistication in Australia and Sri Lanka. Also, Australian firms tend to use capital budget models with good-to-strong predictive power (except for ROE) and Sri Lankan firms tend to use capital-budget models with fair-to-poor predictive power. Further, the analysis of Australian firms yielded much stronger and more statistically significant results than the analysis of Sri Lankan firms. Practical implications – In complex real-world situations, reconciling the outputs of a multifaceted approach to capital budgeting methods is more likely to give the depth and width of input needed to achieve an optimal capital investment plan. Originality/value – The results of this study can provide rich information for stakeholders about new findings in capital budgeting (CB) practices and their contributions to firm performance in a comparative perspective.

Purpose: Although Heijunka (production levelling or smoothing) is a lean tool designed to balance changing customer needs and production efficiency, this study aims to analyze the impact of Heijunka and identify various factors which can generally affect its successful implementation. Design/methodology/approach: We adopted an action research (AR) approach to analyze the consequences of implementing Heijunka in a factory that successfully operates in a lean environment but faces demand that is increasingly less predictable, and customers who require ever more individualized products at low prices with extremely demanding delivery timescales. An estimation of costs was carried out to compare three alternative production planning scenarios: (1) make to order (MTO) production, (2) weekly levelled production and (3) production with minimal changeovers. Findings: The analysis of the impact of implementing Heijunka in this factory demonstrated that MTO production planning without Heijunka is the most efficient option for the factory. We explore the reasons why Heijunka is not suitable for this factory even though other lean principles and tools have been successfully implemented. In this way we identify the main factors which might influence the successful implementation of Heijunka, such as changeover time, the number of different product types (and lot sizes) and the capacity that the production lines are running at. Originality/value: Based on close collaboration between researchers and practitioners in the field of Operations Management, this AR study provides important information for decision making in lean environments (applying Heijunka or not), as well for the advancement of the academic debate about successful lean implementation nowadays.

Purpose: Pre-positioning is a crucial choice in pre-disaster humanitarian logistics planning that consists of deciding in advance how much aid and where should it be located to enable effective and prompt operations in the case of an emergency. To support managers making such decisions, we propose four mathematical formulations that, considering the uncertainty on the demand to satisfy, seek to optimize aid prepositioning (before the event) and further distribution (after the event) in order to minimize unmet demand (MUD). The purpose of this paper is to evaluate and compare the performance of these formulations on a real case to discuss when and why should each approach be applied. Design/methodology/approach: The two first formulations adopt the cardinality-constrained (CC) approach to handle uncertainty. These formulations differ in their objective functions, the first formulation’s objective seeks to MUD, whilst the second incorporates equity in the way that demand is satisfied. The two remaining formulations are scenario-based (SB) and as in the previous two formulations, seek to MUD with and without equity considerations, respectively. Findings: Applying our formulations to a case study, we compare the differences between the solutions produced by the proposed formulations and the solutions that would have been produced without uncertainty (perfect information) to have a better understanding of their performance and their behavior. A discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of each model is provided to help managers choose the model that best suits their needs. Originality/value: The formulations are applied to a case study where a food bank is faced with the arrival of a hurricane in Mexico. As far as our knowledge, it is the first work in literature to deal with humanitarian logistics under a cardinality-constrained approach.

Purpose: To enhance enterprise efficiency, this study examines the pivotal role of operations management in optimizing the use of materials, technology, equipment, and personnel, especially within the transformative framework of Industry 4.0. Design/methodology/approach: This article investigates operational preparation in the context of Industry 4.0. Through questionnaires and interviews with stakeholders, problems related to operational preparation were identified. To address these problems, a launching model was developed for production systems. The model considers several parameters important for the production process, including business goals, customer needs, and environmental conditions that impact enterprise performance and profit. Findings: The model determines the importance of jobs to be performed in a certain order to optimize production sequence. The proposed parameters are included in a mathematical-algorithmic launching model based on categorical levels related to the production process, such as profit, delivery times, processing times, total number of technological operations, product types, materials, required quality, product complexity, and resource use. The model was developed based on observations and investigations conducted in Kosovo's enterprises on operations research, and it has the potential to significantly improve production efficiency and profitability in the Industry 4.0 era. Practical implications: The findings of this study have practical implications for operations management within the Industry 4.0 framework, proposing a launching model designed to optimize production processes and enhance efficiency. Originality/value: The originality and value of this research lie in the development of a mathematical-algorithmic launching model that addresses operational preparation in the Industry 4.0 context, taking into account various crucial parameters.

Purpose – This paper seeks to evaluate the factors that contribute to congestion at port entrances, propose a comprehensive approach to managing port gates that addresses the factors causing traffic jams and assess the outcomes of resolving the issue through an optimal model for incoming container truck traffic. Design/methodology/approach – The study employed a one-way ANOVA and a one-way MANOVA to examine the impact of congestion-causing factors on the waiting time of trucks in each lane at the entrance gate. The purpose of this was to comprehend the intricate issue and demonstrate the outcomes of the resolution. We used the identified factors that were causing congestion to develop a management strategy for the port gate. As part of this strategy, we implemented a policy where traffic flows in the opposite direction in certain lanes. The Simulation of Urban Mobility program introduced the microscopic traffic simulation model as a discrete event simulation. Findings – The examination of variables influencing the congestion at the port entrance revealed that there were four factors contributing to the congestion: (1) the quantity of lanes; (2) the level of bookings; (3) the factors related to the traffic signal cycle and (4) the assignment of lane types. The one-way MANOVA analysis of the three factors yielded significant evidence for a single pair of interactions. (1) The factors to consider are the quantity of lanes, the level of booking and the assignment of lane types. If the entrance to the rear alley consists of two lanes with a width of 1.85 at the 50% capacity level, and if the critical value of the uneven queue coefficient is reached, it can result in a maximum reduction of the average waiting time by 15.02%. Originality/value – This study is unique because it examines the surrounding environment and operational behavior of the port to identify how individual and group congestion factors interact. It uses various statistical tools to determine the allocation of the number of port entrances with a reversible lane policy and appointment level. Additionally, it analyzes the detailed results using microscopic traffic simulation modeling. The established foundational model can assist operators in simulating the queue length and mean waiting time of trucks for this specific waiting line in other ports with comparable entrance characteristics.

Purpose – This study aims to provide a novel approach to examining the connection between several aspects of low-carbon supply chain practices (LCSCPs), eco-innovation (EI) and the performance of manufacturing firms in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach – The current study employed a quantitative research strategy, utilizing survey data collected from a sample of 120 manufacturing firms located in Malaysia. The main aim of this study was to analyze the research framework and test the proposed hypotheses. Findings – The results of the study indicate that EI has a mediating role in the link between LCSCP and manufacturing firm performance (MFP). EI serves as a mediating factor in the association between MFP and four components of LCSCPs, specifically low-carbon product design, low-carbon process improvement, low-carbon purchasing and low-carbon logistics. Practical implications – The results of this study hold significant potential for supply chain professionals in their endeavors to decrease carbon emissions. Practitioners can help eliminate carbon footprints (CFs) by selecting the right LCSCP techniques that support EI and MFP. When creating low-carbon management methods in supply chain management (SCM), practitioners must take into account the potential mediating role of EI. Originality/value – To date, this work is one of the first efforts to investigate the role of EI as a mediator between LCSCP and MFP. Moreover, this research adds to the existing knowledge and improves understanding of how low-carbon development is being implemented in Malaysia, with the ultimate objective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Обеспечение экономического роста при минимизации ущерба экологии в современных условиях развития становится все более актуальным. Стратификация мировой экономической системы, ограничения, вызванные беспрецедентным введением санкций, нарушение глобальных цепочек поставок, переориентация ключевых участников производственной деятельности на локализацию и импортозамещение обусловили изменение в структуре ресурсных источников материального производства. Это обстоятельство создает комплекс рискообразующих факторов в сфере экологии, что приводит к росту «цены» экономического развития. Переход от экстенсивной модели роста к развитию, основанному на ресурсоэффективных технологиях, позволит переломить негативные тенденции. Решение задачи сохранения экономического роста при сокращении негативного влияния на окружающую среду требует пересмотра подходов и использования опережающего индикативного планирования необходимых ресурсов с учетом возможностей вторичного использования отходов для минимизации негативного антропогенного воздействия. Цель исследования — разработка функциональной модели устойчивого развития (во времени), в основе которой лежат принципы замещения природного капитала за счет увеличения использования трудовых и капитальных ресурсов при развитой институциональной поддержке со стороны государства. Такая модель обеспечивает развязку противоречия «экономический рост — минимизация экологического ущерба» за счет применения концепции ресурсоэффективности. В статье сформированы направления применения базовой модели обеспечения устойчивого развития, а также мероприятия ее практической реализации, сгруппированные по факторам производства.

Под устойчивым развитием принято понимать систему специальных мер, предпринимаемых с целью удовлетворения потребностей текущего поколения, обеспечения экономического и социального прогресса, с условием сохранения окружающей среды и ресурсов без ущерба для общества на перспективу. Высшее образование является ключевым фактором устойчивого развития организаций, экономики и государства в целом. Являясь элементами государственного сектора, высшие учебные заведения подвержены вниманию со стороны других участников системы — предпринимателей, государства, населения, которые закономерно ожидают от вузов высокий уровень раскрытия экономической, социальной и экологической информации. В статье рассматриваются вопросы устойчивого развития применительно к организациям высшего образования в контексте двух парадигм: первая — выполнение ими основных образовательновоспитательных функций в профессиональном становлении обучающихся и научно-исследовательских разработок по заказу государства, регионов, бизнеса. Вторая — создание позитивного, современного имиджа для обеспечения конкурентных преимуществ в борьбе за привлечение представителей бизнеса, других стейкхолдров с целью долгосрочных партнерских отношений. Актуальность исследования связана с принятием обязательств по внедрению отчетов устойчивого развития в академическую систему российского образования.

На основе данных Всероссийских переписей населения (1989–2020 гг.) и текущего статистического учета (1989–2023 гг.) проведен анализ системы расселения Алтайского края на фоне Российской Федерации и Сибирского федерального округа. Показана ее структура, факторы и механизмы формирования и развития, выявлена специфика городского и сельского расселения. Рассмотрены показатели густоты сети поселений, их людности и плотности населения. Особое внимание уделено определению места Алтайского края в системе расселения РФ и СФО, изучению вопросов неравномерности размещения населения и населенных пунктов, сдвигов в системе расселения региона, произошедших в последние три десятилетия. Сделан вывод о том, что система расселения Алтайского края отличается сравнительно высокой степенью заселенности территории, относительно густой сетью городских и сельских поселений и крайне неравномерным пространственным размещением населения. В течение анализируемого периода наблюдалось перераспределение населения в сверхкрупные города и крупнейшие села и сужение срединного слоя городов и сельских поселений. Происходило обезлюживание значительных территорий, их выпадение из освоенного экономического пространства и, как следствие, ослабление внутри- и межрегиональных взаимодействий в экономике и социальной сфере.

В развитых странах с 80-х гг. XX в. активно идет процесс изменения структуры национальной экономики, когда доля промышленного производства сокращается. Сфера услуг становится основой создания внутреннего валового продукта, сбора налогов, бюджета, занятости. В России деиндустриализация прошла очень быстро и это сильно повлияло на уровень жизни населения, регионов, в целом всей страны. Отсутствие в субъектах РФ добычи сырья, санкции других стран заставляют восстановливать деятельность предприятий обрабатывающей промышленности. Пока результаты не могут эффективно повлиять на размеры территориальных бюджетов, рост реальных доходов населения и т.п. Структура обрабатывающей промышленности Алтайского края существенно изменилась в рыночных условиях и ведущими предприятиями стали компании, которые функционируют в транспортном машиностроении. Предприятия тракторного и сельскохозяйственного машиностроения раньше были градообразующими в двух крупных городах края, но их ликвидация или минимальное производство стали одними из главных причин большого оттока населения из региона. Другие отрасли обрабатывающей промышленности также имеют специфику развития. С февраля 2022 г. роль организаций оборонно-промышленного комплекса стала расти, и они начинают позитивно влиять на занятость физически активного населения, бюджеты, инновационный уровень всего краевого хозяйства. Перспективы стратегического развития территории требуют изменения всей системы управления экономикой в условиях увеличения размеров государственного сектора, формирования технологического суверенитета как в Российской Федерации в целом, так и в ее субъектах.

В статье раскрыта роль развития туризма в индустриальном регионе, показано, что сырьевая направленность региональной экономики делает ее уязвимой к колебаниям рыночной конъюнктуры, следствием чего является сокращение доходов бюджета, дефицит инвестиционных ресурсов на реализацию проектов, направленных на развитие высокотехнологичных производств, улучшение условий труда и жизни населения, снижение привлекательности территории и отток жителей в другие регионы страны. На основе использования сравнительного подхода выявлены конкурентные преимущества Кемеровской области — Кузбасса по ключевым видам туризма, обоснована целесообразность развития относительно нового для региона, характеризующегося значительным числом промышленных объектов, вида туризма — промышленного. Анализ статистических показателей и причинно-следственных связей продемонстрировал неустойчивую динамику отдельных характеристик туристической отрасли в Кузбассе, что обусловлено в основном влиянием внешних факторов. Акцентируется внимание на том, что дальнейшее развитие туризма при консолидации усилий государства и бизнес-сообщества будет способствовать реализации в регионе принципов ESG-повестки.

Статья носит проблемно-постановочный характер и отражает авторское видение методологии измерения и интерпретации ESG-рисков в жизненном цикле организации. В основе методологии лежат принципы многомерности, взаимосвязи факторов и последствий, устойчивого развития, двойной существенности, рассматриваемые через призму стадий и этапов жизненного цикла организации (предприятия). Раскрыта роль экономического потенциала и предпочтительной степени его использования в выживании и стратегическом развитии промышленного предприятия. Определена последовательность измерения и интерпретации экологических, социальных и экономических негативных последствий функционирования и развития промышленного предприятия. Применяется двойная интерпретация — экономическая (на основе критериев экономического ущерба и упущенной выгоды) и социальная (на основе критерия неудовлетворенности качеством трудовой жизни). Сформирован подход к определению степени и меры ESG-рисков, их весомости, что создает предпосылки для разработки интегрального показателя ESG-рисков и ключевых показателей ESG-ограничений. Раскрыты возможности количественного измерения цепочки ценностей и цепочки уязвимости с учетом потенциального влияния стейкхолдеров. В итоге расширяются возможности совершенствования взаимоотношений собственников и топ-менеджеров предприятия с внешней средой и уточнения роли и места управления в реализации целей производственно-коммерческой промышленной системы микроуровня национальной экономики.

В данной статье кратко представлено формирование методических основ анализа и оценки экономической безопасности в промышленной агломерации. Процессы цифровизации полностью изменили инструменты управления регионом. В основу исследования легла системно-институциональная парадигма, где осуществлен переход в управлении от систем с «закрытым контуром» к системам открытым, самоорганизующимся. Реципрокность благ, редистрибуция при банкротстве в промышленных организациях потребовали институционального обеспечения в длительном периоде. Теория институциональных и экономических дисфункций полагает, что институты могут не выполнять свои функции, не достигать поставленных перед ними целей. Существующие индикативные инструменты оценки экономической безопасности промышленной агломерации устарели и не способствуют решению проблем в условиях неопределенности и дестабилизирующего воздействия экономических рисков и угроз. Разработка теоретических основ направлена на обоснование методики оценки, целью которой является выявление и устранение дисфункции институтов, а также приведение институциональной системы к равновесию, что позволит значительно ускорить и повысить качество принятия решений.

Развитие сельских территорий, которое можно наблюдать в настоящее время, предполагает необходимость совершенствования концептуальных основ в контексте устойчивых преобразований. Ориентир данных местностей на повестку устойчивого развития может позволить достичь социо-эколого-экономической стабильности не только села, но и государства в целом. Однако для этого требуется комплексный анализ территориального развития сельских местностей и построение алгоритма устойчивого развития. При этом данный процесс усложняется тем, что именно сбор необходимых для проведения аналитических процедур информационных данных о функционировании сельских территорий, о достижении целей устойчивого развития, о результатах реализации комплексных программ развития фактически не представляется в открытом доступе или имеет слишком обобщенный вид. В данной статье детально проанализированы статистические данные, позволяющие оценить стабильность функционирования сельских территорий, сделана попытка оценки достижения целей устойчивого развития данными местностями, а также построена концептуальная модель, включающая цель, задачи, инструменты и механизмы достижения устойчивости среды на селе с отражением аналитических алгоритмов. Для проведения аналитических процедур использованы данные сельских территорий Ростовской области.

В статье проведен анализ подходов к оценке устойчивости региональных экономических систем с учетом их экологической подсистемы. Даны определения региональной экономической системы, устойчивости, рассмотрены подходы к оценке устойчивости. Установлено отсутствие единой методики расчета, состава и структуры критериев оценки устойчивости, определено, что при оценке устойчивости региональных экономических систем наиболее часто используется подход разработки индексов и индикаторов устойчивости. Исследованы подходы к разработке индексов и индикаторов в рамках концепции устойчивого развития, ESG-показатели устойчивости, методика ESG-рэнкинга. Выявлен недоучет экологической подсистемы региональных экономических систем в оценке их устойчивости во всех рассмотренных подходах. Экологическая составляющая рассматривается или как ресурсный компонент, или как ассимиляционный потенциал, средообразующие функции окружающей среды, как правило, не учитываются. В то же время риски возникновения чрезвычайных ситуаций, реальный и потенциальный экономический и социальный ущерб от развития неблагоприятных природных процессов и явлений становятся в настоящее время лимитирующими факторами устойчивости регионов. Использование мультикритериального (интегрального) подхода в оценке устойчивости регионов позволит учесть указанные риски.

В последнее время тренды организационной айдентики все чаще создаются на основе принципов устойчивого развития, баланса интересов заинтересованных сторон, элементов «зеленой экономики». Направления модного тренда, безусловно, полезны и значимы для любой социально-экономической системы. В свою очередь, представители корпоративного управления осознали, что долгосрочный успех в бизнесе основан на установлении и развитии хороших отношений с широким кругом заинтересованных сторон. В последние десятилетия все чаще упоминаются цели устойчивого развития ООН и появилось впечатляющее количество литературы по этой теме. Руководители организаций понимают, что участие в решении проблем устойчивого развития приносит пользу компаниям, окружающей среде и обществу в целом. В статье показано, что ответственное управление и устойчивый менеджмент представляют собой многомерные концепции, которые охватывают не только экономические аспекты, но также социальные и экологические составляющие. Перечисленные направления предполагают широкий спектр обязанностей, возложенных на различных участников, таких как правительство, транснациональные корпорации или небольшие компании. Кроме того, вышесказанное свидетельствует о том, что ответственное управление способствует устойчивому развитию множеством способов.

Для России обеспечение устойчивого развития носит приоритетный характер. Компании, имеющие стратегию устойчивого развития, запускают механизм своей позитивной трансформации согласно современным требованиям, устанавливают долгосрочные цели в контексте экологических, социальных и экономических тенденций, понимая, что ее конкурентные позиции на рынке, ее инвестиционная привлекательность зависят, в том числе, и от этих составляющих. Устойчивое развитие принято оценивать в трех отдельных критериях ESG — Environmental, Social, Governance, при этом сфера применения концепции устойчивого развития постоянно расширяется, добавляются новые характерные аспекты современного развития, требующие уточнения. В этой связи на повестку дня для исследователей процессов ESG-трансформации и их результативности встает вопрос досконального изучения и рационального применения разнообразных методов исследования и того инструментария, который они включают. В данной статье авторами делается попытка дать научный обзор современных методов исследования ESG-трансформации, критически проанализировать опыт апробирования исследовательского инструментария изучения современных трендов реализации ESG-практик и их результативности в российских и зарубежных компаниях, опираясь в том числе на опыт предыдущих авторских исследований и публикаций.

Статья посвящена вопросам миграции носителей бизнес-компетенций в социально-экономической системе региона (на примере Республики Башкортостан). Вследствие слабой разработанности темы в отечественной науке в первую очередь автором рассматриваются существующие исследования по внешней и внутренней миграции предпринимателей, в том числе потенциальных. Приводится статистика по предпринимательской деятельности молодежи, как наиболее мобильной группы населения. Доказывается, что именно доходность является для молодежи главным драйвером выбора предпринимательской деятельности, как и места ее реализации. Автор обращает внимание на то, что в сложившихся для Российской Федерации условиях особый проблемный фокус необходимо заострять не столько на отъезде молодых носителей бизнес-компетенций за границу, сколько на их внутристрановой миграции по направлению «село — малый город — мегаполис», поскольку данное явление способно нанести непоправимый ущерб социально-экономическому развитию территорий в долгосрочной перспективе. Посредством системы показателей проводится анализ ситуации с миграцией руководителей и специалистов высшего уровня квалификации в сфере бизнеса и администрирования по муниципальным образованиям Республики Башкортостан за 2022 г. С разбивкой по видам поселений выделены административно-территориальные образования региона, концентрирующие миграционные потоки бизнес-компетенций (столичная агломерация и ряд зон с особыми экономическими условиями), а также совокупность территорий, в том числе урбанизированных, которые характеризуются оттоком людей, способных к предпринимательской деятельности. Автором сделаны выводы о сложившихся системных проблемах Республики Башкортостан по рассматриваемому вопросу.

В постсоветской России произошел значительный рост уровня теневой экономической деятельности с одновременной ее качественной трансформацией. Воздействие теневой экономики свидетельствует об утрате обществом контроля за направленностью социально-экономических и политических процессов. Исследователи регулярно предпринимают попытки оценки масштабов ее распространения на уровне государства; значительно реже проводятся исследования теневой экономики в региональном разрезе. Для ее изучения проведена группировка регионов по уровню экономического развития. На наш взгляд, наиболее предпочтительным методом для определения уровня теневой экономики является MIMIC-модель. Для ее построения с помощью метода главных компонент для каждой группы регионов были определены факторы, а с помощью анализа факторных нагрузок выделены показатели причин. На основе полученного структурного уравнения для каждой из групп регионов было рассчитано откорректированное значение объема теневой экономики. Теневая экономика Российской Федерации в региональном разрезе выглядит достаточно неравномерно. За период 2006–2022 гг. ее средний уровень превышал пороговое значение. В 2006–2022 гг. лишь на территории нескольких регионов уровень неформальной активности уменьшился. В большинстве регионов ситуация более печальна — уровень теневой экономики сохраняется стабильно высоким, а в ряде регионов теневая активность имеет тенденцию к увеличению.

Статья посвящена совершенствованию анализа концентрации финансовых ресурсов некоммерческой спортивной организации. Для обеспечения эффективной деятельности спортивные организации вынуждены привлекать партнеров вследствие недостаточного государственного финансирования. В роли спонсоров выступают, как правило, коммерческие структуры, которые, финансируя некоммерческие спортивные организации, преследуют свои цели (совместное использование спортивного оборудования и инвентаря, продвижение конкретного спортсмена, вида спорта, реклама производимой продукции и пр.). Для оценки степени охвата крупными спонсорами совокупных финансовых ресурсов спортивных организаций, степени влияния и конкуренции финансовых партнеров предлагается использовать коэффициенты концентрации финансовых источников, индекс Херфиндаля-Хиршмана и индекс Холла-Тайдмена. Достоверность и непротиворечивость полученных результатов свидетельствуют о том, что данный экономико-математический аппарат может адекватно применяться для анализа финансовых ресурсов некоммерческой спортивной организации. В целом корректировка аналитических подходов направлена на повышение качества исследования эффективности их деятельности.

Трудовое поведение человека с его разнообразными общественными функциями (характер и интенсивность деятельности, досуг, подвижность, ориентация) меняется по мере обеспечения благоприятных условий для его социального и профессионального развития. Урбанизация ныне становится одним из важных факторов развития экономики, культуры, оказывая существенное влияние на все стороны жизни современного общества. Города являются центрами инноваций и экономического развития и становятся магнитом для людей, привлекая их своими возможностями и разнообразием. Изменения в расселении населения обусловлены сменой типа его воспроизводства и типа хозяйства. Прежде всего, к эффектам урбанизации следует отнести изменения в потребности и поведении человека, интенсификацию деятельности, использовании свободного времени, ценностных ориентациях и т.п. В рамках данного исследования акцентируется внимание на взаимообусловленности рынка труда и уровня урбанизированности региона. В ходе анализа выявлены и подтверждены особенности и закономерности развития региональных рынков труда. Аргументирована необходимость выявления специфических факторов, влияющих на его формирование и функционирование. Это особенно актуально для регионов с низкой степенью урбанизации, где из-за недостаточной диверсифицированности экономики наблюдается высокий уровень общей безработицы.

В зарубежных странах малое и среднее предпринимательство выполняет экономические функции, в первую очередь, способствуя инновационному развитию, в частности, разрабатывая и внедряя новые производственные технологии. Инновации являются одним из основных факторов получения конкурентных преимуществ на микро-, мезо- и макроуровнях. Помимо экономических функций субъекты малого и среднего предпринимательства обеспечивают высокую долю занятости населения. Например, в США более половины экономически активного населения трудоустроены в секторе малого и среднего бизнеса. Количество субъектов малого и среднего предпринимательства в Российской Федерации на 01.01.2024 составило более 6 млн единиц (6347 тыс. ед.), но при сопоставлении данного показателя с численностью населения Российская Федерация отстает от Германии, Франции, Финляндии на 30–40%, от США, Чехии — в два раза и более. В статье на основе проведенного опроса выявлены особенности функционирования организаций малого и среднего предпринимательства, определены сформировавшиеся тенденции и перспективы его дальнейшего развития, расширения деятельности, выявлены наиболее востребованные среди субъектов МСП меры государственной поддержки. Полученные результаты могут быть использованы региональными органами исполнительной власти при формировании документов стратегического планирования.

В статье рассмотрен способ увеличения прибыли управляющих компаний за счет принятия в управление новых многоквартирных домов. Принятие нового многоквартирного дома в управление рассмотрено в качестве отдельного инвестиционного проекта управляющих компаний, требующего анализа и обоснования планируемых вложений. В статье предложена и апробирована модель оценки экономической эффективности инвестиционного проекта в жилищном хозяйстве, позволяющая оценить не только эффект от вложений, но и выявить признаки раннего ухода многоквартирного дома из управления. Выявление признаков раннего ухода многоквартирного дома из управления рассмотрено в разрезе выделенных этапов жизненного цикла инвестиционного проекта в жилищном хозяйстве. При проведении оценки инвестиционной привлекательности проекта в жилищном хозяйстве предложена авторская группировка затрат в отношении регулируемых и нерегулируемых затрат. Принцип регулируемости и нерегулируемости затрат позволяет определять не только минимально необходимые количество и стоимость работ (услуг) по содержанию, управлению и ремонту общего имущества многоквартирного дома, но и выявить потребности собственников многоквартирного дома в качественном и комфортном жилье, а также сопутствующих услугах, оказываемых управляющими компаниями. В статье предложены рекомендации, способствующие профилактике и устранению признаков раннего ухода многоквартирного дома из управления, позволяющие сохранить (увеличить) финансовый капитал управляющих компаний.

Существует гипотеза, что нефинансовая отчетность способствует следованию бизнес-организациями целям устойчивого развития и, соответственно, обеспечивает доступ к «зеленому» (устойчивому) финансированию. Целью данной статьи является анализ современных трендов в области нефинансового учета и отчетности, сравнительная характеристика основных систем нефинансового учета и отчетности, рассмотрение российского опыта по построению ESG-инфраструктуры для успешного его применения в Республике Беларусь. Современной мировой тенденцией является выход ESG-рейтингов на новый уровень в связи с тем, что все больше организаций начинают публиковать свою нефинансовую отчетность, демонстрируя приверженность (формальную или реальную) принципам устойчивого развития. Поскольку существует ряд дискуссионных вопросов, обозначенных в статье, представляется целесообразным продолжать развивать ESG-практики, но остановиться на добровольной нефинансовой отчетности.

В статье акцентировано внимание на включенность населения в процесс социально-экономического развития и в решение насущных проблем места своего проживания в сложный для страны период. В Послании Президента России Федеральному Собранию в феврале 2024 г. затронута тема развития территорий муниципальных образований в ходе совместной деятельности федеральной и региональной власти, органов местного самоуправления, гражданских активистов и всего населения. Актуальность темы эффективного сотрудничества власти и населения в ходе реализации инициативного бюджетирования как современного и доступного для жителей инструмента также подчеркнута на самом высоком уровне. Целью работы стало продолжение исследования в динамике процесса инициативного бюджетирования в России; выявление проблем, связанных с проектной деятельностью, предложение ряда путей их решения. Отмечена необходимость запуска процесса со школьной скамьи (школьное инициативное бюджетирование) как потенциала развития гражданской активности молодого поколения нашей страны. Включенность авторов в изучаемый процесс позволяет оценить его с помощью теоретических методов объективного анализа ситуации, экспертных мнений, легальных и архивных документов, актуальной информации, на практическом опыте показать ряд успешных инициатив, реализуемых в Алтайском крае и г. Барнауле.

El creciente compromiso de las empresas con el cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la Agenda 2030 de Naciones Unidas plantea la interrogante sobre cuáles son los beneficios que las empresas pueden obtener de ese compromiso. El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar la relación entre ese compromiso y la generación de dos tipos de beneficios para las empresas: los económicos y los relacionados con el desempeño de los recursos humanos. Se utilizó información relevada mediante un cuestionario, que fue respondido por una muestra de empresas que participaron en un programa de autoevaluación de la Responsabilidad Social Empresaria. El cuestionario incluye indicadores sobre: 1) aplicación de prácticas específicas relacionadas con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible; 2) desempeño corporativo (económico y en materia de recursos humanos); 3) protección de los intereses de los accionistas y de la sostenibilidad de la empresa. Para validar los índices construidos con base en los indicadores se utilizó el Alfa de Cronbach y el análisis factorial. La relación entre ellos se estudió mediante correlaciones simples y correlaciones parciales. Se encontró correlación positiva entre compromiso con esos objetivos y desempeño corporativo, y que ese compromiso no implica desproteger los intereses de los accionistas o poner en riesgo la sostenibilidad de la empresa. Además de contribuir al desarrollo en este campo de investigación, estos resultados aportan argumentos a las instituciones que promueven la Agenda 2030 y a los directivos de empresas interesados en involucrar a sus empresas con esta agenda.

El objetivo es diseñar el primer Mapeo Sistemático de la Literatura relacionado con la Capacidad de Absorción y el crecimiento económico durante el período 2000 a 2022. Mediante una Revisión Sistemática de la Literatura (RSL) de la base de datos Web of Science, se aplican cuatro fases: identificación, planificación, selección y evaluación. Se recopilan 342 documentos y aplicando criterios rigurosos de inclusión, se seleccionan 195 publicaciones. Los datos se procesan con herramientas analíticas como Graphext, Biblioshiny y VosViewer. Los resultados indican que el año 2022 aparece como la cúspide de la producción científica, China destaca en número de publicaciones y de citas. El análisis semántico, facilitado por Graphext, organiza el contenido en grupos denominados: capacidad social, capacidad tecnológica, capacidad medioambiental, capacidad financiera, capacidad de políticas públicas, capacidad empresarial, capacidad humana y capacidad económica. Se concluye que este mapeo sistemático facilita una comprensión matizada de las variables exploradas en el marco de las Capacidades Nacionales de Absorción, ofreciendo evidencia convincente de las ocho capacidades asociadas al crecimiento económico. La principal limitación es que sólo se consideró la revisión de la base de datos Web of Science, abarcando hasta el año 2022.

Purpose: This study aims to enhance production quality by applying Quality Control (QC) principles through acceptance sampling, specifically analyzing the efficacy of attribute acceptance sampling plans in final lot receptions. Design/methodology/approach: Through a comprehensive review and critical evaluation of various sampling methodologies found in literature, this paper assesses their efficiency under distinct administrative and operational conditions. It emphasizes the comparison of different attribute acceptance sampling plans by examining variations in parameters and key performance indicators, such as Average Outgoing Quality (AOQ) and inspection time allocation percentage. Furthermore, it proposes a model for Continuous Sampling Plans (CSP) to evaluate these plans' performance in response to operational characteristic variations. Findings: The analysis reveals that the selected methodologies significantly aid in decision-making processes for lot acceptance, utilizing non-conforming rates depicted by the Average Quality Level (AQL). This provides a robust framework for improving Quality Control strategies, demonstrating the potential of these methodologies to optimize production quality through strategic lot acceptance. Practical implications: This paper outlines a practical approach for industry practitioners to enhance decision-making in lot acceptance, offering a method to balance quality control with operational efficiency effectively. Originality/value: By comparing a wide range of attribute acceptance sampling plans and introducing a novel CSP model, this research contributes valuable insights into the optimization of QC strategies. It offers a unique perspective on enhancing production quality, marking a significant advancement in the field of Quality Control and management.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to propose an opportunistic group maintenance model for a multi-component series system considering reducing CO2 emission and increasing system efficiency, which establishes a maintenance policy to minimize the cost rate of the system life cycle. Design/methodology/approach: Structural dependence and economic dependence between the components in a multi-component series system are analyzed to make a condition-based maintenance policy. To minimize the cost rate of the system life cycle, clustering theory and two decision variables, which include the preventative maintenance cycle multiplier and basic preventive maintenance interval of each component, is utilized to make an opportunistic policy for system optimal maintenance under the background of increasing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions. Findings: It can be concluded that the government imposes fines on excessive CO2 emissions and energy consumption indicators, which can influence the maintenance decisions of enterprises, promote enterprises to shorten the cycle of preventive maintenance, and avoid excessive CO2 emissions of various components and exceed the indicators as much as possible, so as to enable enterprises to actively save energy, reduce emissions and control carbon emissions. Furthermore, when the single preparation cost of repair maintenance increases, enterprises need to shorten the maintenance period to avoid frequent component failures. As the cost of a single prep for preventive maintenance rises, organizations need to extend maintenance cycles and avoid frequent parts downtime - minimizing their own repair costs. Practical implications: Considering the high maintenance cost and low energy efficiency of multi-component systems, this model assists production managers to have better maintenance of these systems. Originality/value: 1.Model innovation: comprehensive consideration of two variables in the selection of decision variables for preventive maintenance or opportunistic maintenance; The selection and synthesis of ecological factors when making ecologically conscious maintenance decisions for multi-component systems make up for the gaps of single variables and one-sided indicators in previous studies and models. 2. Methodological innovation: In the identification of opportunity maintenance, the idea of clustering is first combined; In the simulation analysis, genetic algorithm is used to obtain the optimal parameters quickly and accurately. A blend of management, statistics, biology and computer science.

The emergence of digital technologies and the expansion of their use has significantly transformed organisa-tions and their Business Models (BM), modifying their traditional structures, redefining the client’s meaning and positioning, as well as retally adjusting the way individuals live and interact with each other in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0 (I4.0). This research aims to reflect on the confluence of factors influencing BM through digitalisation and I4.0 disruptive technologies. Firstly, a Systematic Literature Review was conducted to map the top articles and most persuasive authors in the area, journals, institutions, and countries with the most publications within this theme. Secondly, five thematic clusters were pointed out and analysed through the co-occurrence of keywords. Finally, an in-depth analysis was run to identify influ-encing aspects of BM in the digitalisation era, relating them to specific I4.0 technologies. The research revealed that digital technologies enable improvements in distribution strategy and traceability, facilitate the relationship between buyers and suppliers, improve customer segmentation and product demand forecasting, enable cost reduction, and assist in implementing circular economy practices. In the context of the pandemic/COVID-19, BM has changed significantly, making it necessary to deepen knowledge about digitalisation and adopt I4.0 technologies.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, contact-tracing apps have offered effective help to bend the contagion curve. Thus, it is of critical importance to understand the factors that influence contact-tracing apps’ adoption among citizens. In particular, the successful adoption and usage of contact-tracing apps strongly relies on individual motives. There-fore, this study draws on the theory of altruistic and egoistic motivation for prosocial behaviours to analyse the underlying motives through which citizens engage in voluntary behaviours aimed at using and promoting the use of contact-tracing apps. The study also examines the mediating role of users’ trust in the app. Data from 221 users of Ireland’s Covid Tracker app was analysed. Structural equation modelling with PLS was used to test the research model. Findings show differences between egoistic and altruistic motivation in promoting app use and sharing. Ego-istic motivation significantly promotes voluntary behaviours among citizens and users’ trust in the app mediates this influence. Yet, contrary to predictions, in the context of the pandemic, altruistic motivation does not play a significant role in engaging citizens in these voluntary behaviours, either directly or indirectly. The findings of this study are important for policy makers and may inform future policy decisions regarding the implementation of contact-tracing apps in the case of new pandemics or for other contexts requiring cooperative daily check-in.

This study aims to analyze the performance of university women in active entrepreneurship from the perspective of cognitive variables, such as vigor and affective commitment, and contextual variables, such as the social and uni-versity environments. The study follows a multilevel analysis with a three-way interaction model. The data analysis covers 6779 university students from 39 countries, included in the GUESSS Survey, 2018. The evidence indicates a positive influence of the interaction between vigor and affective commitment on the performance of companies created by female university entrepreneurs. It shows the dependence of this interaction on the social and university environment, mainly on the social environment. This empirical study focuses on university students with active startups and determines the main influences on their business performance. This study has important theoretical implications that enrich the understanding of the relationships between the studied variables and contribute to existing knowledge. It mainly highlights the relevance of vigor and affective commitment for business success. Furthermore, it suggests the need for a more elaborate theory on interactions in the business context.

Using the SCOPUS database, this paper conducts a systematic literature review to identify the drivers of financial profitability for both microfinance institutions (MFIs) and borrowers. Among the 174 papers reviewed, 39 addressed the profitability drivers of MFIs and borrowers. For, MFIs several factors stand out: financing for women and group credit, portfolio quality; client monitoring; appropriate active and passive interest rates; and control of operating costs. For borrowers, training in small business management; the generation of innovative and well-structured busi-ness ideas, access to microcredit and adequate passive interest rate, monitoring by MFIs and investment-focused credit, are found to drive profitability without jeopardizing their scope and depth of their operations. In this way the MFIs can grow and expand their services in a financially sustainable way, and better serve excluded individuals. These results may provide a valuable framework to MFIs and borrowers to consider in their activities. Additionally, the findings are valuable also to policymakers when designing microfinance policies aimed at poverty reduction. A possible conjecture resulting from this study is that the financial sustainability of microfinance does not lie in subsi-dization, but in the application of market rules. By identifying two sets of factors that drive profitability, for MFIs and for borrowers, this paper provides an interface that incorporates measurement indicators.

We live in a globalised world, characterised in recent times by events that have led to crises of international and global scope, in which companies have played a leading role. These circumstances have created a unique opportunity to study how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) varies as companies adapt to this new environment. A key example of this is the situation resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. This health crisis has obliged companies to adopt new manage-ment guidelines to adapt to the difficult conditions of this setting and be able to survive in this “new normal”. Thus, it will be interesting to know whether the impact of this global health crisis, which hit countries differently, has affected compa-nies’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) indicators. Using a large sample of companies from European Union (EU) countries, the results confirm that corporate engagement in CSR increased during the pandemic (2020-2022) com-pared to the previous period (2017-2019). Additionally, the results of this study confirm that the intensity of the impact of this crisis improves the companies’ ESG indicators. From a practical standpoint, it is possible to establish certain political and management implications based on our findings and use them to plan possible strategies for potential future crises.

Studies on entrepreneurship have used several approaches, among which, research on entrepreneurial intention (EI) can be highlighted. Studies on EI help researchers better understand entrepreneurial behavior. In this sense, one of the most relevant frameworks in EI studies is the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), which stands out for its predictive capacity, mainly in a university context. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between the variables of Personal Attitudes (PAs), Subjective Norms (SNs), and Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC) with respect to the EI of university students in Colombia. For this purpose, we constructed a model that integrates the elements of the TPB with EI with reference to the validated instrument of the Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Student's Survey (GUESSS) project applied to a sample of 12,383 students. The estimation of the model uses structural equations (SEMs) by means of Partial Least Squares-Path Modelling (PLS-PM). The findings show that PAs and PBC are determinants of EI, while SNs have no direct influence; however, their effects are indirect. These results have implications for how to promote entrepreneurship in emerging economies through the university environment. The results indicate that the development of students' capabilities is essential for en-trepreneurship and its incorporation into the university's knowledge transfer model.

Refugee entrepreneurship encompasses the enterprising endeavors undertaken by individuals forced to flee their home countries. This research area has gained scholarly traction due to its profound relevance in the socio-eco-nomic perspective. To provide a comprehensive understanding of this phenomenon, a thorough systematic liter-ature review was conducted, drawing upon the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The review scrutinized a corpus of 57 scholarly articles, which were analyzed and categorized into two main themes: the profile of refugees regarding their entrepreneurial intentions, and the contextual factors within the host countries that either facil-itate or impede their entrepreneurial pursuits. Refugee entrepreneurship is associated with the necessity-driven perspective, as individuals often embark on entrepreneurial ventures due to the shortage of viable employment opportunities in their host countries. However, there exists a nuanced perspective wherein some refugees leverage their innate entrepreneurial traits, finding resonance between the economic landscapes of their home and host countries. Nevertheless, the inception of entrepreneurial endeavors is invariably accompanied by some obstacles, spanning legal, financial, and socio-economic domains. These obstacles do not deter the entrepreneurial spirit in-grained within many refugees. Instead, they serve as catalysts for resilience and innovation, prompting the formu-lation of adaptive strategies to surmount barriers and carve out pathways to success, underscoring the economic activity of displaced individuals and exemplifying their capacity to effectuate positive change amidst adversity.

This research examines passion and self-efficacy through experience and knowledge, as motivational factors that support entrepreneurs within the gig economy (GE). It sheds light on entrepreneurs’ sources of passion in the GE literature. The sample is composed of all the 1164 entrepreneurship activities offered worldwide through Airbnb, Tour by Locals, and Withlocals on 5 May 2022. The study is supported by unsupervised machine learning mod-els and seeks to find latent topics emerging from the analysis of the entrepreneurs’ descriptions and exposes the main correlated clustered dimensions. There are six main motivators behind GE platforms as a first step toward entrepreneurship: Experience, Passion for share, Knowledge, Classic traditions, Empowered community and local activities, and Well-being. It also confirms the correlation between passion and self-efficacy through experience, pointing them as main factors behind entrepreneurship in the GE. Five of the six sources of passion previously pointed by theory were found: Passion for growth, for people, for product/service, for innovation and for so-cial mission. This study discloses self-efficacy and the sources of passion and points directions to practitioners involved in entrepreneurial activities in the GE ecosystem. This work used machine learning models to access quantitatively a paradigm that is inductive by nature. The results point to well-being as a significant factor to be addressed in future research regarding entrepreneurship. This research only studies individuals involved in the GE; as such, further studies should cohort new populations from different fields.

Introduction. The relevance of this study is due to the growing influence of the global climate change consequences on the development of countries’ economies and the population’s life quality. Finding an effective response to the climate challenge requires determining the place of the problem of climate change and its consequences among other global challenges and clarifying the significance of climate change for the sustainable development of socio-economic systems. Methods. The study is based on a review of resolutions and reports from a series of United Nations global conferences from 1972 to 2022. To analyze the scientific works on the problem of global climate change, the author used a combination of bibliometric methods, visualization methods and content analysis. Theoretical analysis. A review of intergovernmental documents that reflected the global consensus on development and cooperation in the field of environmental conservation provided insight into the transformation of approaches to solving the problem of global climate change. The evolution of the climate agenda is traced in the context of the sustainable development strategy implementation. Policy priorities are identified for actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the impacts of climate change. Еmpirical analysis. An analysis of the dependence of economic and social damage on the occurrence of natural disasters and weather risks was carried out. The results obtained are considered through the prism of trends characteristic of the time period under study. Conclusions. The relationship between climate, economy, ecology and society is revealed. Through the UN system of sustainable development goals, the place of global climate risks in the system of external challenges and threats to the sustainable development of socioeconomic systems is shown.

Introduction. The successful historical experience of modernizing Japanese economy, which managed to become one of the world economy leaders, found theoretical and methodological justification in the “Flying Wild Geese” paradigm formulated by K. Akamatsu. Scientific review. The introduction of a wide range of readers to the concept of uneven economic growth in advanced and developing countries occurred after the publication of K. Akamatsu’s articles in English in the 1960s. The methodology of the Japanese scientist was influenced by his studying German philosophic and economic thought. The “Flying Wild Geese” paradigm was built on the basis of the long wave of economic conjuncture theory by the Russian economist N. D. Kondratiev and included three models. The first model described the following sequence: import – domestic production – export. The second model explained the transition of production from consumer goods to capital goods and from simple and unprocessed products to complex and processed products. The third model showed the hierarchy of countries in the world economy in accordance with the stages of economic growth. Economic development is encouraged by contradictions and takes place in the form of the alternating emergence and resolution of contradictions of supply and demand. Industrial innovations create a contradiction in the comparative cost structure of national economies and stimulate the growth of international trade. The spread of innovations eliminates the resulting contradiction and slows down economic development. The main contradictions of development, cyclical dynamics and structural shifts correspond to the policy of progressive development, cyclical stabilization policy and structural coordination policy. Conclusion. The conducted research has shown the theoretical and methodological origins and foundations of modern economic thought in Japan.

Introduction. Throughout the history of Russia, strengthening and protection of state sovereignty has been a priority for the country. One form of this protection is military defence. In order to understand the full extent of this responsibility, it is necessary to examine the constitutional and legal status of servicemen in Russia. This includes general rights, duties, and special powers and restrictions. Additionally, there are benefits and compensation for the unique challenges and responsibilities associated with military service. The current status of servicemen is being reformed in line with the national security strategy and policy to strengthen state sovereignty. The aim of the research is to develop a classification of components of the constitutional and legal position of a serviceperson in the Russian Federation based on a range of theoretical perspectives and practical applications. Theoretical analysis. The position of military personnel and their family members in the Russian Federation falls within a special category. Consequently, this position encompasses a set of universal rights, freedoms, and obligations arising from the general legal status of individuals and enshrined in the Constitution of the Russian Federation. In addition, it includes a list of specific powers, obligations, prohibitions, and restrictions, along with additional safeguards, benefits, and compensations arising from the performance of professional duties and their associated consequences, such as rank, position, service conditions, and other factors. Through the review of theoretical literature, it can be concluded that the list of components of an individual’s legal position is open-ended. The elements of the legal status of servicemen in Russia, as a specific category of individuals, have not been clearly defined. Therefore, there is a need to not only establish these elements, but also to identify criteria for differentiating the status of servicemen based on their mode of service and other relevant factors. Empirical analysis. The author suggests that the legal regulation of servicemen’s status in Russia is linked to the expansion of measures to ensure their fundamental rights and liberties and provide additional benefits and compensation, both for servicemen themselves and their families. This is supported by the constitutional and legal framework, which includes the combination of federal, regional, and local regulations, as well as creation of social guarantees at various levels of government. The main elements of this status include rights, freedoms, obligations, responsibilities, limitations, prohibitions, guarantees, and compensations for servicemen. At the same time, it is not possible to universally implement the elements of the special legal status for servicemen in Russia. It would be advisable to identify certain categories of military personnel and determine the scope of their powers. Results. The elements of the special legal status for servicemen can be broadly categorized into general elements that apply to all servicemen in the Russian Federation; elements related to specific conditions of service, which may vary depending on the type of a military unit, position held, or territorial characteristics of the service; and elements related to performance of duties in conditions of military operations or wartime. Certain elements of the legal status for military personnel in Russia may also apply to their families under certain circumstances, and such elements require special application rules.

Introduction. The aggravation of migration problems both in Russia and in other countries actualizes the study of migration relations, identifying the causes and consequences of emerging problems. Research methodology. The research is based on a systematic approach, as well as provisions on the correlation of objective contradictions, problems and conflicts. Results. The manifestation of internal contradictions of various elements of the migration relations system, as well as contradictions between the elements of this system, in the problems of migration is revealed. In this aspect, the problems of shadow and unstable employment of migrants, the problems of migrants’ social dependency, the contradictory influence of migration on demographic processes and socio-economic development of Russia, on the preservation of Russian identity are considered. It is proved that adequate forms of resolving contradictions in the system of migration relations do not allow problems to escalate into conflicts, but promote equal coexistence of representatives of various national ethnic groups and cultures on the territory of Russia, effective participation of migrants in the economic, social and cultural life of Russian society. Migration flows have a contradictory effect on solving problems in the field of socio-economic development of the country: they stabilize the situation with labor resources, and reduce the quality of the workforce; resolve the contradiction between the needs of demographic reproduction of the Russian population and natural population decline and pose a threat to the preservation of Russian identity, etc. Conclusion. The imperfection of migration policy, its inadequacy to the challenges of the current migration situation, the lack of adequate forms of resolving the contradictions of this system lies at the heart of the aggravation of problems and tensions in migration relations, and the emergence of conflicts. Due to the fact that conflicts can lead to the intensification of extremist and terrorist activities with devastating consequences, in order to avoid them, society and the state must learn how to prevent conflicts in a timely manner and successfully resolve them so that migration processes can realize their positive potential.

Introduction. The reform of local self-government is an established trend in the activities of the legislative body of the Russian Federation. There is a search for an optimal model of the organization of the system of public authorities at the settlement level. At the same time, the legislation on local self-government provides for institutions that can take on some of the responsibilities for solving issues of local importance. The article deals with the issues of the legal nature of territorial public self-government. The author focuses on the correlation of the concepts of “motivation” and “stimulation”. Results. In the public legal sphere, the state uses various ways to influence participants in public relations in order to encourage them to make positive decisions. To a large extent, these tools are imperative. For example, creation of municipalities throughout the country is imperative; the norm of the Federal Law “On General Principles of the Organization of Local Self-Government in the Russian Federation” regarding the establishment of a system of mandatory local self-government bodies is imperative. However, the law also contains a significant number of dispositive norms. They are characterized by the absence of the obligation of the subjects of the right to perform certain socially significant actions. For example, the law provides for the possibility of establishing a territorial public self-government (TPSG). But residents of settlements have no obligation to create them, therefore, this provision of the law on the possibility of creating TPSG is dispositive, it orients citizens to the establishment of these associations, being, in fact, motivational. Conclusions. Motivational and stimulating components in the system of methods of state influence on public relations are clearly manifested in the establishment and activity of territorial public selfgovernment. The motivational component in influencing public law relations is not the subject of close attention of scientists, although normsgoals, norms-principles increasingly influence the development of priorities for social development, the formulation of relevant legal norms, having only motivation in their arsenal of influence.

Introduction. The relevance of the topic under consideration, on the one hand, is due to external factors, when decisions of a strictly political nature by the Western world leaders and subsequent economic sanctions “cut Russia off ” from a number of important technologies. On the other hand, the lack of a coherent domestic economic policy leads to a mismatch of targets at the national and regional levels. subjects of economic activity, both at the micro and macro levels. In this regard, the development of methodological foundations that allow for the integration of economic entities at the macro level, while qualitatively improving the efficiency of management is extremely important. Theoretical analysis. The article analyzes and evaluates the international experience of technological development management. The main directions of improving management efficiency have been identified. A structural analysis of the subjects of regional management was carried out, which allowed us to identify the main problems. Results. The necessity of using a project approach based on regional technology platforms is substantiated. An organizational model of regional management is presented, which allows for dynamic technological development in strict compliance with all principles of sustainability. Conclusion. Qualitative improvement of management efficiency is possible only on the basis of integration of both different types of management and target indicators of management entities. Such integration should be based on a new industrial policy and represent a permanent process.
