Abstract: Using $281\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data collected with the CLEO-c detector, we report on first observations and measurements of Cabibbo-suppressed decays of $D$ mesons in the following six decay modes: ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, $\ensuremath{\eta}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, and $\ensuremath{\omega}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. Improved branching fraction measurements in eight other multipion decay modes are also presented. The measured $D\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\pi}$ rates allow us to extract the ratio of isospin amplitudes $A(\ensuremath{\Delta}I=3/2)/A(\ensuremath{\Delta}I=1/2)=0.420\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.014(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.016(\mathrm{syst})$ and the strong phase shift of ${\ensuremath{\delta}}_{I}=(86.4\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.8\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}3.3)\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$, which is quite large and now more precisely determined.

Abstract: Using data obtained with the CLEO III detector, running at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR), we report on a new study of exclusive radiative Υ(1S) decays into the final states γπ^+π^-, γK^+K^-, and γpp . We present branching ratio measurements for the decay modes Υ(1S)→γf_2(1270), Υ(1S)→γf′_2(1525), and Υ(1S)→γK^+K^-; helicity production ratios for f_2(1270) and f′_2(1525); upper limits for the decay Υ(1S)→γf_J(2200), with f_J(2220)→π^+π^-, K^+K^-, pp ; and an upper limit for the decay Υ(1S)→γX(1860), with X(1860)→γpp .

Abstract: Using data collected at the psi(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell e+e- storage ring, we present searches for 25 charmless decay modes of the psi(3770), mostly multibody final states. No evidence for charmless decays is found.

Abstract: Using 420 pb(-1) of data collected on the upsilon(5S) resonance with the CLEO III detector, we reconstruct B mesons in 25 exclusive decay channels to measure or set upper limits on the decay rate of upsilon(5S) into B meson final states. We measure the inclusive B cross section to be sigma(upsilon(5S) --BB(X)) = (0.177 +/- 0.030 +/- 0.016) nb and make the first measurements of the production rates of sigma(upsilon(5S) --B*B*) = (0.131 +/- 0.025 +/- 0.014) nb and sigma(upsilon(5S) --BB*) = (0.043 +/- 0.016 +/- 0.006) nb, respectively. We set 90% confidence level limits of sigma(upsilon(5S) --BB)0.038 nb, sigma(upsilon(5S) --B(*)B(*)pi)0.055 nb and sigma(upsilon(5S) --BBpipi)0.024 nb. We also extract the most precise value of the B(s)* mass to date, M(B(s)*) = (5411.7 +/- 1.6 +/- 0.6) MeV/c2.

Abstract: We have searched for the di-pion transition chi_b(2P) -> pi pi chi_b(1P) in the CLEO III sample of Upsilon(3S) decays in the exclusive decay chain: Upsilon(3S) -> gamma chi_b(2P), chi_b(2P) -> pi pi chi_b(1P), chi_b(1P) -> gamma Upsilon(1S), Upsilon(1S) -> lepton pairs. Our studies include both pi+ pi- and pi0 pi0, each analyzed both in fully reconstructed events and in events with one pion undetected. We show that the null hypothesis is not substantiated. Under reasonable assumptions, we find the partial decay width to be Gamma[chi_b(2P) -> pi pi chi_b(1P)] = (0.83 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.08 +/- 0.19) keV, with the uncertainties being statistical, internal CLEO systematics, and common systematics from outside sources.

Abstract: Using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have observed the Bs meson in e+e- annihilation at the Upsilon(5S) resonance. We find 14 candidates consistent with Bs decays into final states with a J/psi or a Ds(*)-. The probability that we have observed a background fluctuation is less than 8x10e-10. We have established that at the energy of the Upsilon(5S) resonance Bs meson production proceeds predominantly through the creation of Bs*Bs* pairs. We find sigma(e+e- -> Bs*Bs*) = [0.11 (+0.04-0.03)(stat.)+/-0.02(syst.)] nb, and set the following limits: sigma(e+e- -> BsBs) / sigma(e+e- -> Bs*Bs*) BsBs*) / sigma(e+e- -> Bs*Bs*) < 0.16 at the 90% confidence level. The mass of the Bs* meson is measured to be M(Bs*) = [5.414 +/- 0.001(stat.) +/- 0.003(syst.)] GeV.

Abstract: We describe a search for psi(3770) decay to two-body non-DDbar final states in e+e- data produced by the CESR collider and analyzed with the CLEO-c detector. Vector-pseudoscalar production of Rho0Pi0, Rho+Pi-, OmegaPi0, PhiPi0, RhoEta, OmegaEta, PhiEta, RhoEtaPrime, OmegaEtaPrime, PhiEtaPrime, Kstar0 K0bar, and Kstar+K- is studied along with that of BOnePi (BOne0Pi0 and BOne+Pi-) and Pi+Pi-Pi0. A statistically significant signal is found for PhiEta, at an excess cross section of (2.4 +- 0.6) pb [Gamma_{PhiEta} (psi(3770)) =(74 +- 16)Mev], and a suggestive suppression of Pi+Pi-Pi0 and RhoPi. Abstract: Using data collected with the CLEO detector operating at the CESR e(+)e(-) collider at root s = 3.97-4.26 GeV, we investigate 15 charmonium decay modes of the psi(4040), psi(4160), and Y(4260) resonances. We confirm, at 11 sigma significance, the BABAR Y(4260)->pi(+)pi(-)J/psi discovery, make the first observation of Y(4260)->pi(0)pi(0)J/psi (5.1 sigma), and find the first evidence for Y(4260)-> K(+)K(-)J/psi (3.7 sigma). We measure e(+)e(-) cross sections at root s=4.26 GeV as sigma(pi(+)pi(-)J/psi)=58(-10)(+12)+/- 4 pb, sigma(pi(0)pi(0)J/psi)=23(-8)(+12)+/- 1 pb, and sigma(K(+)K(-)J/psi)=9(-5)(+9)+/- 1 pb, in which the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Upper limits are placed on other decay rates from all three resonances.

Abstract: Using 20.7 pb^-1 of e+e- annihilation data taken at sqrt{s} = 3.671 GeV with the CLEO-c detector, precision measurements of the electromagnetic form factors of the charged pion, charged kaon, and proton have been made for timelike momentum transfer of |Q^2| = 13.48 GeV^2 by the reaction e+e- to h+h-. The measurements are the first ever with identified pions and kaons of |Q^2| > 4 GeV^2, with the results F_pi(13.48 GeV^2) = 0.075+-0.008(stat)+-0.005(syst) and F_K(13.48 GeV^2) = 0.063+-0.004(stat)+-0.001(syst). Abstract: We determine the dielectron widths of the Gamma(1S), Gamma(2S), and Gamma(3S) resonances with better than 2% precision by integrating the cross section of e+e- --Gamma over the e+e- center-of-mass energy. Using e+e- energy scans of the Gamma resonances at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring and measuring Gamma production with the CLEO detector, we find dielectron widths of 1.252+/-0.004(sigma(stat))+/-0.019(sigma(syst)) keV, 0.581+/-0.004+/-0.009 keV, and 0.413+/-0.004+/-0.006 keV for the Gamma(1S), Gamma(2S), and Gamma(3S), respectively.

Abstract: We use data collected by the CLEO III detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring to measure the inclusive yields of D(s) mesons as B(Y(5S) --> D(s)X) = (44-7 +/- 4.2 +/- 9.9)% and B(Y(4S) --> D(s)X) = (18.1 +/- 0.5 +/- 2.8)%. From these measurements, we make a model dependent estimate of the ratio of B(s)*B(s)* to the total bb quark pair production of (16.0 +/- 2.6 +/- 5.8)% at the Y(5S) energy.

Abstract: We extract a relatively precise value for the decay constant of the D{sup +} meson by measuring B(D{sup +}{yields}{mu}{sup +}{nu})=(4.40{+-}0.66{sub -0.12}{sup +0.09})x10{sup -4} using 281 pb{sup -1} of data taken on the {psi}(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector. We find f{sub D{sup +}}=(222.6{+-}16.7{sub -3.4}{sup +2.8}) MeV, and compare with current theoretical calculations. We also set a 90% confidence upper limit on B(D{sup +}{yields}e{sup +}{nu})

114. Measurement of sigma(e+e- --psi(3770)--hadrons) at Ec.m.=3773 MeV

Abstract: We measure the cross section for e+e- --psi(3770) --hadrons at Ec.m.=3773 MeV to be (6.38+/-0.08(+0.41)(-0.30) nb using the CLEO detector at the CESR e+e- collider. The difference between this and the e+e- --psi(3770) --DD cross section at the same energy is found to be (-0.01+/-0.08(+0.41)(-0.30) nb. With the observed total cross section, we extract Gamma(ee)(psi(3770))=(0.204+/-0.003(+0.041)(-0.027) keV. Uncertainties shown are statistical and systematic, respectively.

Abstract: The spin-singlet P-wave state of charmonium, h{sub c}({sup 1}P{sub 1}), has been observed in the decay {psi}(2S){yields}{pi}{sup 0}h{sub c} followed by h{sub c}{yields}{gamma}{eta}{sub c}. Inclusive and exclusive analyses of the M(h{sub c}) spectrum have been performed. Two complementary inclusive analyses select either a range of energies for the photon emitted in h{sub c}{yields}{gamma}{eta}{sub c} or a range of values of M({eta}{sub c}). These analyses, consistent with one another within statistics, yield M(h{sub c})=[3524.9{+-}0.7 (stat){+-}0.4 (sys)] MeV/c{sup 2} and a product of the branching ratios B{sub {psi}}({psi}(2S){yields}{pi}{sup 0}h{sub c})xB{sub h}(h{sub c}{yields}{gamma}{eta}{sub c})=[3.5{+-}1.0 (stat){+-}0.7 (sys)]x10{sup -4}. When the {eta}{sub c} is reconstructed in seven exclusive decay modes, 17.5{+-}4.5 h{sub c} events are seen with an average mass M(h{sub c})=[3523.6{+-}0.9 (stat){+-}0.5 (sys)] MeV/c{sup 2}, and B{sub {psi}}B{sub h}=[5.3{+-}1.5 (stat){+-}1.0 (sys)]x10{sup -4}. If combined, the inclusive and exclusive data samples yield an overall mass M(h{sub c})=[3524.4{+-}0.6 (stat){+-}0.4 (sys)] MeV/c{sup 2} and product of branching ratios B{sub {psi}}B{sub h}=[4.0{+-}0.8 (stat){+-}0.7 (sys)]x10{sup -4}. The h{sub c} mass implies a P-wave hyperfine splitting {delta}M{sub HF}(1P){identical_to} -M(1{sup 1}P{sub 1})=[1.0{+-}0.6 (stat){+-}0.4 (sys)] MeV/c{sup 2}.

Abstract: Using 0.8 x 10(6) D+ D- pairs collected with the CLEO-c detector at the psi(3770) resonance, we have searched for flavor-changing neutral current and lepton-number-violating decays of D+ mesons to final states with dielectrons. We find no indication of either, obtaining 90% confidence level upper limits of B(D+ --> pi+ e+ e-) pi- e+ d+) K+ e+ e-) K- e+ e+) < 4.5 x 10(-6).

Abstract: Using 3.08x10{sup 6} {psi}(2S) decays observed in e{sup +}e{sup -} collisions by the CLEO detector, we present the results of a study of the {psi}(2S) decaying into baryon-antibaryon final states. We report the most precise measurements of the following eight modes: pp, {lambda}{lambda}, {sigma}{sup +}{sigma}{sup +} (first observation), {sigma}{sup 0}{sigma}{sup 0}, {xi}{sup -}{xi}{sup -}, and {xi}{sup 0}{xi}{sup 0} (first observation), and place upper limits for the modes {xi}(1530){sup 0}{xi}(1530){sup 0} and {omega}{sup -}{omega}{sup -}.

Abstract: Using data collected at the psi(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell e+e- storage ring, we present searches for 25 charmless decay modes of the psi(3770), mostly multibody final states. No evidence for charmless decays is found.

Abstract: From e(+)e(-) collision data acquired with the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we observe the non-DD(_) decay Psi(3770))--gammachi(c1) with a statistical significance of 6.6 standard deviations, using the two-photon cascades to J/Psi and J/Psi--l(+)l(-). We determine sigma(e(=)e(-)--Psi(3770))xBeta(Psi(3770)--gammachi(c1))=(18.0 +/- 3.3 +/- 2.5) pb and branching fraction Beta(Psi(3770)--gammachi(c1)=(2.8 +/- 0.5+/-0.4) x 10(-3). We set 90% C.L. upper limits for the transition to chi(c2) (chi(c0)): sigma x Beta5.7 pb (282 pb) and Beta0.9 x 10(-3) (44 x 10(-3)). We also determine Gamma(Psi(3770)gammachi(c1))/Gamma(Psi(3770)--pi(+)pi(-)J/Psi)=1.5 +/- 0.3 +/- 0.3 (1.0 at 90% C.L.), which bears upon the interpretation of X(3872).

Abstract: Using $55.8\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collisions recorded at the $\ensuremath{\psi}(3770)$ resonance with the CLEO-c detector at CESR, we determine absolute hadronic branching fractions of charged and neutral $D$ mesons using a double tag technique. Among measurements for three ${D}^{0}$ and six ${D}^{+}$ modes, we obtain reference branching fractions $\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})=(3.91\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.08\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.09)%$ and $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})=(9.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.3)%$, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Final state radiation is included in these branching fractions by allowing for additional, unobserved, photons in the final state. Using a determination of the integrated luminosity, we also extract the cross sections $\ensuremath{\sigma}({e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{0}{\overline{D}}^{0})=(3.60\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}{0.07}_{\ensuremath{-}0.05}^{+0.07})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{nb}$ and $\ensuremath{\sigma}({e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{+}{D}^{\ensuremath{-}})=(2.79\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}{0.07}_{\ensuremath{-}0.04}^{+0.10})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{nb}$.

Abstract: The h{sub c}({sup 1}P{sub 1}) state of charmonium has been observed in the reaction {psi}(2S){yields}{pi}{sup 0}h{sub c}{yields}({gamma}{gamma})({gamma}{eta}{sub c}) using 3.08x10{sup 6} {psi}(2S) decays recorded in the CLEO detector. Data have been analyzed both for the inclusive reaction, where the decay products of the {eta}{sub c} are not identified, and for exclusive reactions, in which {eta}{sub c} decays are reconstructed in seven hadronic decay channels. We find M(h{sub c})=3524.4{+-}0.6{+-}0.4 MeV which corresponds to a hyperfine splitting {delta}M{sub hf}(1P){identical_to} -M({sup 1}P{sub 1})=+1.0{+-}0.6{+-}0.4 MeV, and B({psi}(2S){yields}{pi}{sup 0}h{sub c})xB(h{sub c}{yields}{gamma}{eta}{sub c})=(4.0{+-}0.8{+-}0.7)x10{sup -4}.

Abstract: In e+e- collisions recorded using the CLEO II.V detector we have studied the Cabibbo suppressed decay of D0 -> pi+pi-pi0 with the initial flavor of the D0 tagged by the decay D*+ -> D0pi+. We use the Dalitz-plot analysis technique to measure the resonant substructure in this final state and observe \rho\pi and non-resonant contributions by fitting for their amplitudes and relative phases. We describe the pipi S-wave with a K-matrix formalism and limit this contribution to the rate to be pi+pi-pi+ decay. Using the amplitudes and phases from this analysis, we calculate an integrated CP asymmetry of 0.01^{+0.09}_{-0.07} +/- 0.05.

Abstract: We extract a relatively precise value for the decay constant of the meson by measuring B(D+ --mu+nu) = (4.40 +/-0.66(+0.09)(-0.12) x 10(-4) using 281 pb(-1) of data taken on phi(3770) the resonance with the CLEO-c detector. We find fD+ = (222.6 +/- 16.7(+2.8)(-3.4)) MeV, and compare with current theoretical calculations. We also set a 90% confidence upper limit on B(D+e+nu)2.4 x 10(-5) which constrains new physics models.

Abstract: We use data collected by the CLEO III detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring to measure the inclusive yields of D(s) mesons as B(Y(5S) --D(s)X) = (44-7 +/- 4.2 +/- 9.9)% and B(Y(4S) --D(s)X) = (18.1 +/- 0.5 +/- 2.8)%. From these measurements, we make a model dependent estimate of the ratio of B(s)*B(s)* to the total bb quark pair production of (16.0 +/- 2.6 +/- 5.8)% at the Y(5S) energy.

Abstract: We observe signals for the decays psi(3770) --XJ/psi from data acquired with the CLEO detector operating at the CESR e+ e- collider with square root of s = 3773 MeV. We measure the following branching fractions Beta(psi(3770) --XJ/psi and significances: (189 +/- 20 +/- 20) x 10(-5) (11.6sigma) for X = pi+ pi-, (80 +/- 25 +/- 16) x 10(-5) (3.4sigma) for X = pi0 pi0, and (87 +/- 33 +/- 22) x 10(-5) (3.5sigma) for X = eta, where the errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. The radiative return process e+ e- --gamma psi(2S) populates the same event sample and is used to measure Gamma ee[psi(2S)] = (2.54 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.11) keV.

Abstract: Using data accumulated with the CLEO detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $\mathcal{L}=5.63\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ on the peak of the $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ [$3.08\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ decays] and $20.70\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=3.67\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$, we report first measurements of the branching fractions for the following 13 decay modes of the $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$: $\ensuremath{\eta}3\ensuremath{\pi}$, ${\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}3\ensuremath{\pi}$, $\ensuremath{\rho}{K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, ${K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, $2({K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}})$, $2({K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}){\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, $\ensuremath{\rho}p\overline{p}$, $p\overline{p}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, $\ensuremath{\eta}p\overline{p}$, $p\overline{p}{K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, $\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, $\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{p}{K}^{+}$, and $\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{p}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, and more precise measurements of 8 previously measured modes: $2({\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}})$, $\ensuremath{\rho}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, $2({\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}){\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, $\ensuremath{\omega}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, ${K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, $\ensuremath{\omega}{K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, $\ensuremath{\phi}{K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, and $p\overline{p}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. We also report new branching fraction measurements of $\ensuremath{\phi}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ and $\ensuremath{\omega}p\overline{p}$ and upper limits for $\ensuremath{\eta}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, $\ensuremath{\eta}{K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, and $\ensuremath{\phi}p\overline{p}$. Results are compared, where possible, with the corresponding $J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ branching ratios to provide new tests of the 12% rule.

Abstract: The resonant substructure in ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decays is described by a combination of ten quasi two-body intermediate states which include both $CP$-even and $CP$-odd eigenstates and one doubly Cabibbo suppressed channel. We present a formalism that connects the variation in ${D}^{0}$ decay time over the Dalitz plot with the mixing parameters, $x$ and $y$, that describe off-shell and on-shell ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{-}{\overline{D}}^{0}$ mixing. We analyze the CLEO II.V data sample and find the parameters $x$ and $y$ are consistent with zero. We limit $(\ensuremath{-}4.5lxl9.3)%$ and $(\ensuremath{-}6.4lyl3.6)%$ at the 95% confidence level.

Abstract: The tau decays to four hadrons have been studied with the CLEO III detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR) using (7.56 +- 0.15) fb^{-1} of data collected near the Y(4S) resonance. We present the first statistically significant measurements of B(tau- -> K- pi+pi- pi0 nu, excluding K^0) = (7.4 +- 0.8 +- 1.1) x 10^{-4} and B(tau--> K- K+ pi- pi0 nu) = (5.5 +- 1.4 +- 1.2) x 10^{-5}, including the first observation of the decay, tau- -> K- omega nu, with branching fraction (4.1 +- 0.6 +- 0.7) x 10^{-4}. Abstract: We present measurements of the branching fractions for $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ and ${\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ using 3M $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ decays collected with the CLEO detector operating at the CESR ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. We obtain $\mathcal{B}(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}})=(5.945\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.067\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.042)%$ and $\mathcal{B}(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}})=(5.960\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.065\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.050)%$, leading to an average of $\mathcal{B}(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{\ensuremath{-}})=(5.953\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.056\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.042)%$ and a ratio of $\mathcal{B}(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}})/\mathcal{B}(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}})=(99.7\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.6)%$, all consistent with, but more precise than, previous measurements.

Abstract: The h(c)((1)P(1)) state of charmonium has been observed in the reaction psi(2S) --pi(0)h(c) --(gammagamma)(gammaeta(c)) using 3.08 x10(6) psi(2S) decays recorded in the CLEO detector. Data have been analyzed both for the inclusive reaction, where the decay products of the eta(c) are not identified, and for exclusive reactions, in which eta(c) decays are reconstructed in seven hadronic decay channels. We find M(h(c)) = 3524.4 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.4 MeV which corresponds to a hyperfine splitting DeltaM(hf)(1P) triple-bondM((3)P(J)) - M((1)P(1)) = +1.0 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.4 MeV, and B(psi(2S) --pi(0)h(c)) x B(h(c) --gammaeta(c)) = (4.0 +/- 0.8 +/- 0.7) x 10(-4).

Abstract: Using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have studied the distribution of kinematic variables in the decay lambda(+)(c)lambda--> e(+)nu(e). By performing a four-dimensional maximum likelihood fit, we determine the form factor ratio, R= f(2)/f(1) = -0.31 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.04(syst), the pole mass, M(pole) = [2.21 +/- 0.08(stat) +/- 0.14(syst)] GeV/c(2), and the decay asymmetry parameter of the lambda(+)(c), alpha (lambda(c)) = -0.86 +/-0.03(stat) +/- 0.02(syst), for q(2) = 0.67 (GeV/c(2))(2). We compare the angular distributions of the lambda(+)(c) and lambda(-)(c) and find no evidence for CP violation: A(lambda(c)) = (alpha(lambda(c)) + alpha (lambda(c)))/(alpha(lambda(c))-alpha(lambda(c))) = 0.00 +/- 0.03(stat) +/- 0.01(syst) +/- 0.02, where the third error is from the uncertainty in the world average of the CP-violating parameter, A(lambda), for ppi(-).

Abstract: We analyze $13.8\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{f}{\mathrm{b}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of the integrated ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ luminosity collected at 10.6 GeV center-of-mass energy with the CLEO II and CLEO II.V detectors to study exclusive two-photon production of hadrons with masses below $1.7\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/{\mathrm{c}}^{2}$ decaying into the ${K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{\mp}}$ final state. We observe two statistically significant enhancements in the $\ensuremath{\eta}(1475)$ mass region. These enhancements have large transverse momentum which rules them out as being due to pseudoscalar resonances but is consistent with the production of axial-vector mesons. We use tagged two-photon events to study the properties of the observed enhancements and associate them with the production of ${f}_{1}(1285)$ and ${f}_{1}(1420)$. Our nonobservation of $\ensuremath{\eta}(1475)$ is inconsistent by more than 2 standard deviations with the first observation of this resonance in two-photon collisions by the L3 experiment. We present our estimates for 90% confidence level upper limits on the products of two-photon partial widths of light pseudoscalar hadrons and their branching fractions into ${K}_{S}^{0}({\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}){K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{\mp}}$.

Abstract: Using 55.8 pb(-1) of e+e- collisions recorded at the psi(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector at CESR, we determine absolute hadronic branching fractions of charged and neutral D mesons using a double tag technique. Among measurements for three D0 and six D+ modes, we obtain reference branching fractions B(D0--K-pi+)=(3.91+/-0.08+/-0.09)% and B(D+--K-pi+pi+)=(9.5+/-0.2+/-0.3)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Final state radiation is included in these branching fractions by allowing for additional, unobserved, photons in the final state. Using a determination of the integrated luminosity, we also extract the cross sections sigma(e+e- --D0D0)=(3.60+/-0.07(+0.07)(-0.05)) nb and sigma(e+e- --D+D-)=(2.79+/-0.07(+0.10)(-0.04)) nb.

Abstract: Using data recorded by the CLEO III detector at the Cornell electron storage ring (CESR), we have made measurements of some properties of the ${\ensuremath{\Sigma}}_{c}^{*++}$ and ${\ensuremath{\Sigma}}_{c}^{*0}$ charmed baryons. Abstract: We report on a search for the recently reported X(3872) state using 15.1 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) data taken in the sqrt[s] = 9.46-11.30 GeV region. Separate searches for the production of the X(3872) in untagged gammagamma fusion and e(+)e(-) annihilation following initial state radiation are made by taking advantage of the unique angular correlation between the leptons from the decay J/psi --> l(+)l(-) in X(3872) decay to pi(+)pi(-)J/psi. No signals are observed in either case, and 90% confidence upper limits are established as (2J+1)Gamma(gammagamma)(X(3872))B(X --> pi(+)pi(-)J/psi) pi(+)pi(-)J/psi) < 8.3 eV.

Abstract: We have studied the inclusive photon spectra in Upsilon(2S) and \Upsilon(3S) decays using a large statistics data sample obtained with the CLEO III detector. We present the most precise measurements of electric dipole (E1) photon transition rates and photon energies for Upsilon(2S)->gamma chi_bJ(1P) and Upsilon(3S)->gamma chi_bJ(2P) J=0,1,2. We measure the rate for a rare E1 transition Upsilon(3S)->gamma chi_b0(1P) for the first time. We also set upper limits on the rates for the hindered magnetic dipole (M1) transitions to the eta_b(1S) and eta_b(2S) states.

Abstract: Using CLEO data collected from CESR ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collisions at the $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ resonance and nearby continuum at $\sqrt{s}=3.67\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{G}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}$, we report the first significantly nonzero measurements of light vector-pseudoscalar hadron pair production (including $\ensuremath{\rho}\ensuremath{\pi}$, $\ensuremath{\omega}\ensuremath{\pi}$, $\ensuremath{\rho}\ensuremath{\eta}$, and ${K}^{*0}\overline{{K}^{0}}$) and the ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ final state, both from $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ decays and direct ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation.

Abstract: We investigate the decays ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu}$ and ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu}$, where $\ensuremath{\ell}$ is $e$ or $\ensuremath{\mu}$, using approximately $7\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{f}\mathrm{b}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data collected with the CLEO III detector. We find ${\mathrm{R}}_{0}\ensuremath{\equiv}\mathcal{B}({\mathrm{D}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\mathrm{e}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})/\mathcal{B}({\mathrm{D}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\mathrm{K}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\mathrm{e}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})=0.082\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.006\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.005$. Fits to the kinematic distributions of the data provide parameters describing the form factor of each mode. Combining the form factor results and ${R}_{0}$ gives $|{f}_{+}^{\ensuremath{\pi}}(0){|}^{2}|{V}_{cd}{|}^{2}/|{f}_{+}^{K}(0){|}^{2}|{V}_{cs}{|}^{2}={0.038}_{\ensuremath{-}0.007\ensuremath{-}0.003}^{+0.006+0.005}$.

Abstract: Using the CLEO II.V detector observing e+e- collisions at around 10.6 GeV we search for neutral D mixing in semileptonic D0 decays tagged in charged D* decays. Combining the form factor results and R(0) gives |f(pi)(+)(0)|(2)|V(cd)|(2)/|f(K)(+)(0)|(2)|V(cs)|(2)=0.038(+0.006+0.005)(-0.007-0.003).

Abstract: Using 0.8x10(6) D+D- pairs collected with the CLEO-c detector at the psi(3770) resonance, we have searched for flavor-changing neutral current and lepton-number-violating decays of D+ mesons to final states with dielectrons. We find no indication of either, obtaining 90% confidence level upper limits of B(D+->pi(+)e(+)e(-))< 7.4x10(-6), B(D+->pi(-)e(+)e(+))< 3.6x10(-6), B(D+-> K(+)e(+)e(-))< 6.2x10(-6), and B(D+-> K(-)e(+)e(+))< 4.5x10(-6).

Abstract: We describe new measurements of the inclusive and exclusive branching fractions for Psi(2S) transitions to J/Psi using e+e- collision data collected with the CLEO detector operating at CESR. All branching fractions and ratios of branching fractions reported here represent either the most precise measurements to date or the first direct measurements. Abstract: Using the CLEO-III detector at CESR we study e{sup +}e{sup -} collisions in the center-of-mass energy close to, or above, {lambda}{sub b}{sup 0}{lambda}{sub b}{sup 0} production threshold. We search for evidence of {lambda}{sub b}{sup 0}{lambda}{sub b}{sup 0} resonance production and set upper limits based on inclusive hadron production as a barometer of {lambda}{sub b}{sup 0}{lambda}{sub b}{sup 0} production.

Abstract: Using data accumulated with the CLEO detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of L = 5.63 pb(-1) on the peak of the psi(2S) [3.08x10(6) psi(2S) decays] and 20.70 pb(-1) at root s = 3.67 GeV, we report first measurements of the branching fractions for the following 13 decay modes of the psi(2S): eta 3 pi, eta(')3 pi, rho K+K-, K(+)K(-)pi(+)pi(-)pi(0), 2(K+K-), 2(K+K-)pi(0), rho p (p) over bar, p (p) over bar pi(+)pi(-)pi(0), eta p (p) over bar, p (p) over barK(+)K(-), Lambda(Lambda) over bar pi(+)pi(-), Lambda pK(+), and Lambda(p) over barK(+)pi(+)pi(-), and more precise measurements of 8 previously measured modes: 2(pi(+)pi(-)), rho pi(+)pi(-), 2(pi(+)pi(-))pi(0), omega pi(+)pi(-), K(+)K(-)pi(+)pi(-), omega K+K-, phi K+K-, and p (p) over bar pi(+)pi(-). We also report new branching fraction measurements of phi pi(+)pi(-) and omega p (p) over bar and upper limits for eta pi(+)pi(-), eta K+K-, and phi p (p) over bar. Results are compared, where possible, with the corresponding J/psi branching ratios to provide new tests of the 12% rule.

Abstract: Using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have studied the distribution of kinematic variables in the decay lambda(+)(c)lambda--e(+)nu(e). By performing a four-dimensional maximum likelihood fit, we determine the form factor ratio, R= f(2)/f(1) = -0.31 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.04(syst), the pole mass, M(pole) = [2.21 +/- 0.08(stat) +/- 0.14(syst)] GeV/c(2), and the decay asymmetry parameter of the lambda(+)(c), alpha (lambda(c)) = -0.86 +/-0.03(stat) +/- 0.02(syst), for q(2) = 0.67 (GeV/c(2))(2). We compare the angular distributions of the lambda(+)(c) and lambda(-)(c) and find no evidence for CP violation: A(lambda(c)) = (alpha(lambda(c)) + alpha (lambda(c)))/(alpha(lambda(c))-alpha(lambda(c))) = 0.00 +/- 0.03(stat) +/- 0.01(syst) +/- 0.02, where the third error is from the uncertainty in the world average of the CP-violating parameter, A(lambda), for ppi(-).

Abstract: In $60\text{ }{\mathrm{p}\mathrm{b}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data taken on the $\ensuremath{\psi}(3770)$ resonance with the CLEO-c detector, we find eight ${D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu}$ decay candidates that are mostly signal, containing only one estimated background. Using this statistically compelling sample, we measure a value of $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})=(3.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.4\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.6)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$, and determine ${f}_{{D}^{+}}=(202\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}41\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}17)\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{M}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}$.

Abstract: We have searched a sample of 9.6 x 10(6) BB events for the lepton-flavor-violating leptonic B decays, B(0)-->mu(+/-)tau(-/+) and B(0)-->e(+/-)tau(-/+). The tau lepton was detected through the decay modes tau-->lnunu(-) , where l=e, mu. There is no indication of a signal, and we obtain the 90% confidence level upper limits B(B(0)-->mu(+/-)tau(-/+)) e(+/-)tau(-/+))

Abstract: Using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron-positron Storage Ring, we have measured the scaled momentum spectra, dσ/dx_p, and the inclusive production cross sections of the charm mesons D^+, D^0, D^(⋆+), and D^(⋆0) in e^+e^− annihilation at about 10.5 GeV center of mass energy, excluding the decay products of B mesons. The statistical accuracy and momentum resolution are superior to previous measurements at this energy.
