In this work, a gate stack Silicon doped HfO2 ferroelectric vertical TFET is proposed and its various performance parameters are investigated and compared with the high-K HfO2 vertical TFET and SiO2 vertical TFET with embedded SiGe layer at the source channel Junction to reduce tunneling band gap from 1.1 eV to 0.7 eV. The optimized proportion of the Si to retain the polarization is 3.4% chosen to build the Silicon doped HfO2 ferroelectric. The introduction of a gate stack Silicon doped HfO2 ferroelectric with the HfO2 causes two major phenomena, in first it reduces the surface potential in the off state of the device and prohibited the electron tunneling from the source and hence results in very low off state current. In second, its setup negative gate capacitance and hence increases the overall gate capacitance coupling to ensure high drain current and the low subthreshold slope of the device and thus provide a high switching speed. It is seen that using a gate stack Silicon doped HfO2 ferroelectric, the off current is 2 orders lowers as compared to the HfO2 and 3 orders lower as compared to the SiO2. Also, the proposed device gives subthreshold slope of 14.37 mV/ Dec which is a significant improvement as compared to the HfO2 and SiO2 bases vertical TFET. The present paper attempts to study the determinants of choice between debt and equity for companies in India for a five-year period from 2015 to 2020 over a balanced panel dataset of firms listed on NSE-CNX 100. The study looks at the impact of explanatory variables such as, size, tangibility, age, liquidity, growth, profitability, volatility, debt serving capacity, and non-debt tax shield on Indian companies' long, short, and total debt ratios. Panel regression fixed effects model has been employed, and tangibility, size, age, liquidity, profitability and financial distress are found to be significant factors affecting capital structure ratio, whereas growth, non-debt tax shield and debt serving capacity did not show any significant effect on the debt ratio. For selected companies in India, the study's empirical findings support the pecking order theory rather than trade-off theory claims. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Phytohormones are involved in the regulation of plant responses to biotic stress. How a limited number of hormones differentially regulate defence responses and influence the outcome of plant–biotic interactions is not fully understood. In recent years, cytokinin (CK) was shown to induce plant resistance against several pathogens. In the present study, we investigated the effect of CK in inducing tomato resistance against the hemibiotrophic pathogenic bacteria Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria (Xcv) and Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato (Pst). We demonstrate that CK enhances tomato resistance to Xcv and Pst through a process that relies on salicylic acid and ethylene signalling. CK did not directly affect the growth or biofilm formation ability of these pathogens in vitro. Overall, our work provides insight into the underlying mechanisms of CK‐induced immune responses against bacterial pathogens in tomato. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A composite film of nickel hexacyanoferrate (NiHCF) and bentonite (Bt) clay (abbreviated as NiHCF−Bt) is synthesized by an in situ electrochemical method. For this synthesis, nickel ions are immobilized on Bt clay by an ion‐exchange process, equilibrating Bt clay with nickel nitrate. On a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), the nickel ion‐exchanged Bt clay (Ni2+−Bt) is coated to get the modified electrode which is represented as GCE/Ni2+−Bt. The NiHCF−Bt composite film is prepared on the GCE surface using the GCE/Ni2+−Bt and scanning the electrode potentials between −0.10 to 1.00 V continuously in an aqueous solution containing potassium hexacyanoferrate and potassium chloride. This NiHCF−Bt modified GCE (GCE/NiHCF−Bt) exhibits redox peaks due to the oxidation and reduction of the central metal ion, Fe2+. The electro‐generated Fe3+ present in the GCE/NiHCF−Bt, electrocatalytically oxidizes a range of drugs like acetaminophen (AC), dopamine (DA), and tyrosine (TY) at decreased overpotentials with high current. This property is advantageously used for the precise quantification of AC, DA, and TY. Sensitivity, limit of detection, and linear calibration range for the determination of AC are found to be 0.20 μA μM−1 cm−2, 1.5 μM, and 25.0–1000.0 μM, respectively. Further, the amount of AC present in pharmaceutical products is satisfactorily quantified which demonstrated the use of the NiHCF−Bt composite film in electroanalysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
