Abstract. There is no single adequate approach for establishing the criteria that should define pre-service teacher education. This is due to the fact that each orientation answers to specific interests (legitimizing some of them while denying others). There is a currently growing tendency to construct and normalize technical knowledge among students who are becoming teachers, always from a Eurocentric epistemological logic based on scientific-pedagogical evidence. Many regions on the planet are adopting this approach as their own and, at the same time, they are denying other forms of experiencing School and knowledge without a European scientific basis. By doing so, they are discrediting pedagogical proposals presented from the margins, as the European colonial logic dehumanizes people living in these regions due to the existing power relations in the North-South axis. This is the reason why a decolonial pedagogical logic is reflected upon and analyzed in the field of physical education. This logic focuses on “living well”, on exploring life in harmony with natural elements, on the reciprocity with other living beings, and on the transformation of the time-space limits for teachers’ education via collective actions and from an ethical and political position based on self-management. That is why we propose an educational experience that transgresses the dominant educational rules and that travels towards an educational development based on incarnated learning, located and contextualized for the education of future PE teachers.

DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) are the most cytotoxic lesions of those occurring in the DNA and can lead to cell death or result in genome mutagenesis and chromosomal translocations. Although most of these rearrangements have detrimental effects for cellular survival, single events can provide clonal advantage and result in abnormal cellular proliferation and cancer. The origin and the environment of the DNA break or the repair pathway are key factors that influence the frequency at which these events appear. However, the molecular mechanisms that underlie the formation of chromosomal translocations remain unclear. DNA topoisomerases are essential enzymes present in all cellular organisms with critical roles in DNA metabolism and that have been linked to the formation of deleterious DSBs for a long time. DSBs induced by the abortive activity of DNA topoisomerase II (TOP2) are “trending topic” because of their possible role in genome instability and oncogenesis. Furthermore, transcription associated TOP2 activity appears to be one of the most determining causes behind the formation of chromosomal translocations. In this review, the origin of recombinogenic TOP2 breaks and the determinants behind their tendency to translocate will be summarized.

According to the study method set out in the Historia de la métrica medieval castellana (2016), this paper considers all aspects related to the treatment of the metric in Chancellor Ayala’s work, in Rimado de Palacio and in the response to Sánchez de Calavera included in the Cancionero de Baena. The textual corpus is fixed, the prosodic contexts (the clerical and the one of troubadours) are rebuilt. The author had to know these contexts in order to determine the two metric systems used in his work: the isosyllabic system (alexandrines and octosyllables) and the isorrhythmic one (“arte mayor”). In addition, the rhyming networks of the two models and the process of elaborating four-line stanza are analyzed, stressing the different parts that integrate the collection of verses dedicated to Mary, Mother of Jesus. The pragmatic figures on which the transmission of the content of the work depends are indicated. Finally, and possible ways of reciting and reading the text are put forth, without forgetting the distinctive features of verse composition, with a final synthesis.

This paper presents a simple extension of Rolle’s Theorem. This extension allows determining the amount of numbers ξi in which f'(ξi) = 0 in a given interval, using the characteristics of the function f in that interval. The extension has been proved, and the geometric interpretation has been presented. Illustrative examples have also been developed for each case that can be obtained by applying the extension. Finally, the study examines the relation of this theorem with the problem of multiple internal rates of return (IRR).

Presentation of the case We hereby present the case of an 83 year old hypertense, diabetic male patient with asymptomatic severe aortic stenosis, preserved ventricular function, mild mitral regurgitation and no coronary artery disease. He had low-intermediate surgical risk (3.1% in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons scoring system) and, in medical-surgical session, it was decided to proceed with the surgical replacement of his aortic valve. Perceval Sutureless Aortic Heart Valve, Sorin size L was implanted. The follow-up echocardiogram prior to hospital discharge showed an aortic transvalvular gradient of 22/11 mmHg and 2 periprosthetic regurgitation jets indicative of mild-to-moderate aortic failure with pulmonary artery systolic pressure of 40 mmHg. Five months after valvular replacement, the patient was hospitalized due to acute heart failure with acute pulmonary edema. During the physical examination, the auscultation showed murmurs indicative of grade III/IV aortic regurgitation and bilateral pulmonary rales. The echorcardiogram showed severe aortic failure due to the lack of stent coverage of the aortic bioprosthesis at the level of the aortic annulus and in the area corresponding to the non-coronary sinus and most of the right coronary sinus which conditioned 2 regurgitation jets towards the left ventricle that appeared slightly dilated. The left ventricular ejection fraction was somehow...

Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic zoonosis distributed worldwide, caused by the ingestion of contaminated water/food with the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. If a pregnant woman is infected with this parasite, it may be transmitted to the fetus and produce ocular, neurological, or systemic damage with variable severity. The strength and profile of mother's immune response have been suggested as important factors involved in vertical transmission rate and severity of clinical outcome in the congenitally infected fetus. The aim of this work was to evaluate a possible relation between the mother's immune response during pregnancy and congenital transmission to the fetus. We obtained peripheral blood from T. gondii infected pregnant woman and tested it for anti T. gondii (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4, and IgA) in serum. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated to analyze the in vitro effect of soluble T. gondii antigens on proliferation and production of cytokines. We found that IgG2-4 and IgA antibodies and lymphocytes proliferation, especially CD4+, CD8+, and CD19+ were positive in a higher proportion of cases in transmitter than in non-transmitter women. Furthermore, IgG2-3 and IgA anti-Toxoplasma antibody levels were higher in those mothers who transmitted the infection than in those who did not. Interestingly, a higher proportion of positive cases to IFN-γ and negatives to the immunoregulatory cytokine TGF-β, were related to T. gondii vertical transmission. Our descriptive results are consistent with the paradoxical previous observations in murine models of congenital toxoplasmosis, which suggest that an increased immune response that protects the mothers from a disseminated or severe disease, and should protect the fetus from infection, is positively related to parasite transmission.

audit report ,information value for decision making ,consensus between auditors and users ,Finance ,HG1-9999 - Abstract
Audit reports represent the only information stakeholders have about conducted audits and they are a key instrument used in economic and financial decisions. Improving audit reports should be a priority of regulators and auditors. The authors solicited perceptions from 212 experienced auditors and financial report users about the value of audit reports and ways to improve their format and content. An analysis of the responses suggests that adding information on audits (such as auditor’s responsibility about fraud) and on annual accounts and client’s information systems, without significant changes in the format, would improve the decision usefulness of audit reports. The growing sophistication of markets and reporting standards requires new information in audit reports, such as auditors’ conclusions about management’s estimates in annual accounts. The study is useful to regulators, auditors’ corporations, academics, and users and contributes to the current audit literature by providing evidence on consensus between auditors and users with regard to the format and content of audit reports.

A study of the chert nodules found in the Escalada Formation (Carboniferous, Ponga region, Cantabrian Zone) was carried out as a means to characterise a number of lithic raw materials found in several prehistoric sites of the Cantabrian Mountains (NW Spain). This study comprises fieldwork aimed at locating the outcrops and obtaining samples. Some selected samples from two localities were used for both petrological (macroscopic and microscopic analyses from thin sections) and geochemical (X-ray fluorescence and powder diffraction) analysis. The macroscopic study shows a rather homogeneus coloration and a conchoidal fracture although two extreme types of cherts with a variety of intermediate forms can be differentiated according to the matrix composition. The microscopic analysis shows a high heterogeneity in carbonate versus silica percentage and gentle differences in some other features such as type of silica, origin of carbonates, occurrence of organic matter and type of skeletal components. The results of several geochemical analysis suggest that there are not geochemical features neither in the major elements nor in the traces that allows us to clearly distinguish between the analysed samples. All these studies allow us to define the main features of these chert nodules and to establish several types and varieties among them. Those varieties with high percentage of silica and with a more homogeneous matrix are the most suitable samples for knapping. These results together with the study of the geological and geographical location of archaeological sites suggest that the nodules from the Escalada Formation likely were lithic material supply sources used in knapping activities When aiming to demonstrate the use of these materials at archaeological sites the sole macroscopic analysis of the pieces does not suffice; further analyses, such as those involving thin sections, are necessary. The absence of chert from Escalada Formation in some Mesolithic sites in the area was confirmed via these additional analyses.

This paper presents the results of a research conducted to support a training proposal which enables students to work as real estate appraisers. Nowadays in Spain it is enough to be an architect or an engineer to become a real estate appraiser, while further complementary training rests in the hands of the appraisal companies. Analyzing the knowledge needed to perform adjusted appraisals, the international standards and other empiric analysis, we will try to build a coherent training plan showing how the need for technical training emerges, especially in finance, in psychoeducational skills and professional ethics. Our aim is to claim the capacity of the pedagogic science as a relevant factor in solving important socio-economic problems by diagnosing training needs and the design of programs.

Introduction: The objective is to evaluate the concordance of intraocular pressure (IOP) values by comparing three tonometers; Corvis ST (COR), Icare Pro (ICA) and Tonopen (TOP) with the gold standard, the Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT and the effect of the measurements by the central corneal thickness (CCT). Methods: One hundred and eight eyes were selected (59 patients) who underwent IOP measurement with four instruments (Icare, Corvis, Tonopen and Goldmann). An univariate analysis was applied, and then a concordance analysis was performed in which the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was calculated between the different instruments taking into account the corneal thicknesses to eliminate confounding effect in measurements. Results: 109 eyes (59 patients) were included, 66% women and 34% men. Average age 52.2 years (SD 13.87). Univariate analysis was performed and a mean age 52.2 (SD ± 13.87) and mean IOP were obtained for Goldman 15 (SD ± 2.94), Icare 15 (SD ± 2.47), Tonopen 14 ( SD ± 2.85), Corvis 14 (SD ± 2.67).

A laboratory-scale analysis using coal from an underground mine was carried out, emulating a mixture from the gob area in an actual mine, consisting of waste, coal, and free space for the flow of air. Experimental tests and computational fluid dynamics modelling were done to define and verify the behavior of the collapsed region in a time-dependent analysis. In addition, the characteristics of coal were defined, regarding the self-combustion, combustion rate, and pollutants generated in each stage of the fire. The results achieved are useful for determining the behavior of the collapsed area in full-scale conditions and to provide valuable information to study different scenarios of a potential fire in a real sublevel coal mine regarding how the heat is spread in the gob and how pollutants are generated.

A fire has been analyzed in a real underground coal mine, using a sublevel method, during an entire year. The study was focused on the collapsed area, reproducing a real mixture formed by coal, waste, and air gap. The analysis was done by means of an experimental analysis, a computational fuid dynamic model (CFD), and simulations using a mine ventilation software. Three scenarios were determined and studied regarding their influence on the evolution of the fire: (a) development of the fire without taking any action, (b) sealing off the affected areas, and (c) sealing and reducing the ventilation in the affected area and surrounding drifts. The study revealed the behavior of the fire in a real mine and the effectiveness of the main fire-fighting measures over time, verifying that none of the measures taken could eliminate the fire-induced in the collapsed area.

Fires in underground spaces are especially relevant due to their potential mortality. However, there is not much research in real-scale spaces done so far. In this study, several fire scenarios were analyzed in an underground drift, taking into account the main environmental variables: airflow, temperature, oxygen, and pollutants. The behavior before and after the fire load was determined, as well as the evolution of the fire over time throughout the drift and its cross-section, finding important trends of the fire based on the airflow–fuel load ratio. Furthermore, the five most representative scenarios were modeled using the fire dynamics simulator (FDS). Results obtained in the simulations, with the adjusted parameters, display a good correlation between simulated and experimental values, being able to extrapolate these values to know the performance of potential fires in other underground spaces or mines. The outcomes could also be a very useful tool to study the effectiveness of possible emergency measures or the potential impact of a fire in this type of environments.

In this study, the microstructure of a series of activated carbons modified on its chemistry surface was evaluated from X-ray diffraction and porous structure analysis, and the effect of the stacked graphitic structure on the n-pentane adsorption capacity. The activated carbons were prepared modifying an activated carbon (obtained from coconut shell) by carbonization processes at 1073, 1173 and 1273 K and impregnation with 65% nitric acid solution, 60% phosphoric acid solution and reflux with 30% ammonium hydroxide solution. The activated carbons were characterized by N2 adsorption at 77 K. It was found that these are essentially microporous materials with surface areas between 469 and 1113 m2 g-1, and the evaluation of the microstructure was performed by determining the number of aromatic layers stacked from the analysis of the observed diffraction peak between 20-30° 2θ which corresponds to the 002 reflection in the plane of the coal using the STACK XRD technical. The results showed that impregnation as carbonization favours the development of the crystalline structure to the activated carbons, which is shown by the increase of the stacked structure at the same time; this favours the n-pentane adsorption.

Performing Continuous Climb Operation (CCO) procedures enable the reduction of the environmental footprint and the improvement of the trajectory efficiency when individually operated. However, its operation may affect negatively the overall operational efficiency at Terminal Manoeuvring Areas (TMAs). The estimation of capacity is a matter of paramount importance to all airport planning and analyzing the capacity effects of this particular operational technique on a certain scenario will definitely help on evaluating its potential applicability. In this paper, departure runway capacity at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport was operationally evaluated when introducing CCOs. The considered trajectories consisted of multiobjective optimized CCOs based on the optimal control theory, using the pseudospectral direct numerical method. These scenarios allowed addressing of the incremental variations of CCOs versus conventional departures, through fast time simulation, with the objective to assess the effects on the operations.

One of the most important determinants of meat quality is the intramuscular fat (IMF) content. The development of high-throughput techniques as RNA-seq allows identifying gene pathways and networks with a differential expression (DE) between groups of animals divergent for a particular trait. The Iberian pig is characterized by having an excellent meat quality and a high content of intramuscular fat. The objectives of the present study were to analyze the longissimus dorsi transcriptome of purebred Iberian pigs divergent for their IMF breeding value to identify differential expressed genes and regulatory factors affecting gene expression. RNA-seq allowed identifying ∼10,000 of the 25,878 annotated genes in the analyzed samples. In addition to this, 42.46% of the identified transcripts corresponded to newly predicted isoforms. Differential expression analyses revealed a total of 221 DE annotated genes and 116 DE new isoforms. Functional analyses identified an enrichment of overexpressed genes involved in lipid metabolism (FASN, SCD, ELOVL6, DGAT2, PLIN1, CIDEC, and ADIPOQ) in animals with a higher content of IMF and an enrichment of overexpressed genes related with myogenesis and adipogenesis (EGR1, EGR2, EGR3, JUNB, FOSB, and SEMA4D) in the animals with a lower content of IMF. In addition to this, potential regulatory elements of these DE genes were identified. Co-expression networks analyses revealed six long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) (ALDBSSCG0000002079, ALDBSSCG0000002093, ALDBSSCG0000003455, ALDBSSCG0000004244, ALDBSSCG0000005525, and ALDBSSCG0000006849) co-expressed with SEMA4D and FOSB genes and one (ALDBSSCG0000004790) with SCD, ELOVL6, DGAT2, PLIN1, and CIDEC. Analyses of the regulatory impact factors (RIFs) revealed 301 transcriptionally regulatory factors involved in expression differences, with five of them involved in adipogenesis (ARID5B, CREB1, VDR, ATF6, and SP1) and other three taking part of myogenesis and development of skeletal muscle (ATF3, KLF11, and MYF6). The results obtained provide relevant insights about the genetic mechanisms underlying IMF content in purebred Iberian pigs and a set of candidate genes and regulatory factors for further identification of polymorphisms susceptible of being incorporated in a selection program.

This work introduces a comparative collection located in the Prehistory Laboratory at the University of León (Spain) specialised in knappable raw materials, mainly comprising radiolarite and black chert (micro-crypto crystalline quartz), from the western Cantabrian Mountains (north of Iberian Peninsula). A standardised protocol of sample collection and data organisation was developed, which includes the use of several methodologies. First, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for referencing lithic sources. Second, direct observation of the sample for the macroscopic characterization, both de visu and stereomicroscope. Third, petrographic microscopy for a description of main petrological, and palaeontological features, complemented with the identification of the different minerals that make up the samples by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Forth, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) and Thermogravimetry – Differential Scanning Calorimetry (TG-DSC) for geochemical and thermal features of the samples. Finally, the results of these analyses were entered in a database. All this information is contributing towards the creation of a physical reference collection specialised in local Palaeozoic formations (mostly from Devonian to Carboniferous) that outcrop in the western Cantabrian Mountains, a region whose potential resource base was previously not very well known. This collection would allow to compare archaeological lithic remains from different sites inside and outside the Cantabrian Mountains.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of successful aging (SA) and identify its predictive factors in a cohort of older people in the Colombian Andes Mountain. Method: Data were drawn from a prospective longitudinal study of community-dwelling elderly people in Manizales. SA encompassed indicators in four domains: physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning. Results: The prevalence of SA was 24.4%. The independent predictors were good and very good self-rated health, middle–high/high-income level, absence of chronic conditions, married status, high educational level, and very high spirituality. Discussion: The prevalence of SA was low: One of 10 people older than 65 years showed SA when presence of diseases was included in the criteria, compared with one of four when such an item was excluded. The identification of predictive factors allows distinguishing this population in primary care services and promoting strategies that ensure high functionality levels for as long as possible.

Many civilian applications of commercial unmanned aircraft are being planned to operate in the years ahead. Several countries have developed their own framework to design the operation of unmanned aircraft and the different services that demand safe operation. This paper focuses on the European framework denoted as U-space which concludes with the joint integration of manned and unmanned aircraft in the airspace. U-space is a set of novel services and specific procedures designed to provide safe and efficient access into the airspace to the airspace users. U-space constitutes a management system to organise unmanned operations and provides relevant information to drone operators as well as manned aircraft, air navigation service providers and authorities. The understanding of associated hazards and risks to unmanned aircraft is a critical issue for their operation in complex and non-segregated airspaces. The safety assessment developed herein is crucial to identify safety indicators for U-space. In addition, the identification of safety indicators was used to identify gaps in U-spaces services that are not correctly covered by the U-space framework. Particularly, several safety indicators are identified that currently U-space services do not consider and can imply an increase in the operational risk of unmanned operations.

The so-called “Mucientes chert" is a variety that appears in the central area of the Iberian North Plateau, in theDueroBasin. It is widely known in the geological and archaeological literature and its use for knapping was especially important in Prehistory. From a macroscopic point of view it is a nodular chert, with white and very porous cortex, and brown to blackish or beige colour in the inner part. In this work we carried out a more accurate petrographic, mineralogical and chemical characterization of this lithology using SEM, XRD and XRF techniques in samples coming from “Las Canteras” (Mucientes village), a chert outcrop of the “Cuestas” Unit (Vallesian-Aragonian, Miocene Age). Also, we have made a review of its geological occurrence and archaeological distribution areas. It is intended to sketch the delimitation of the geographical area of occurrence taking into account the geological and archaeological references.

Flight trajectory data sets are difficult to analyse due to several reasons, from the high interconnectedness of all their factors to the high dimensionality of the data. In this paper we introduce Topological Data Analysis (TDA) and some of its techniques to extract some useful conclusions concerning ATM data. We will show how topology encodes useful information regarding airport analysis using the set of Spanish' airports in the Summer Season of 2018. Finally, we present some conclusions, and some guidelines in order to face new challenges in the ATM area., Comment: 31 pages
