Models were developed for prediction of baseline reliability characteristics of notional (conceptual) Navy fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft. Each model consists of a set of mathematical equations relating two- digit Work Unit Code subsystem Mean Flight Hours Between Failures (MFHBF) to aircraft design/performance parameters. The prediction equations were derived using MFHBF data and aircraft design/performance from each of 43 representative historical Navy aircraft. Candidate predictor variables consisted of 101 design/ performance parameters for fixed wing aircraft and 89 design/performance parameters for rotary wing aircraft. This report contains two volumes: Volume I - Executive Summary and Volume II - User's Guide and Model Development. A summary of development of the baseline reliability prediction models is presented in Volume 1. The models and application procedure are contained in Part I of Volume 2. Studies of high-temperature reactions for synthesis of new, thermally-stable chemical compounds, or precursors to such compounds, are described. The first part of the program was a survey of the literature for high-temperature reactions (above 500C) which might result in such compounds. On the basis of this initial survey, and on information from continuing literature surveys, the following three studies were undertaken: Synthesis of difluoroacetylene as a precursor to thermally-stable, perfluorinated aliphatic or aromatic polymers; Synthesis of stable organometallic compounds using arcs to ionize the metal constituent; Synthesis of thermally-stable thiophosphonitrilic compounds. Of three different approaches conceived for the synthesis of difluoroacetylene, only pyrolysis of the sodium salt of tetrafluorosuccinic acid appears to have yielded the desired product. The reactions between metals ionized from arc electrodes, and organic liquids circulated past the arc, have failed thus far to yield measurable quantities of organometallic compounds. Reactions between vaporized phosphorus sesquisulfide (P4S3) and nitrogen in an electric arc have yielded several amorphous compounds containing sulfur, phosphorus and nitrogen. One such compound was heated to over 700C in argon with no visible signs of decomposition. A 589-item bibliography on heat-resistant materials is included.

This review provides a summary of key findings from 27 systematic reviews of 51 articles first published or indexed during 2015, focusing on the treatment of psoriasis as well as precision medicine in psoriasis. Evidence supports weight loss interventions by dieting and exercise for the improvement in disease severity in overweight and obese patients with psoriasis. No significant increased risk of serious infections were reported for the biologic therapies adalimumab, etanercept and ustekinumab when compared with appropriate comparators. Evidence could not provide reliable estimates of rare adverse events, underscoring the need for large prospective registries. Polymorphisms in the tumour necrosis factor (TNF) alpha gene may confer improved responses to TNF inhibitor (TNFI) therapy, but studies to date lack power to detect true association. From limited available evidence, multidisciplinary management is both more effective and more satisfactory for patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis than conventional consultations. This summary of reviews provides a succinct guide for clinicians and patients wishing to remain up‐to‐date with high quality evidence for the treatment of psoriasis.
