Vehicle trajectory data have become essential for many research fields, such as traffic flow, traffic safety, and automated driving. To make trajectory data useable for researchers, an overview of the included road section and traffic situation as well as a description of the data processing methodology is necessary. In this paper, we present a trajectory dataset from a German highway with two lanes per direction, an off-ramp and congested traffic in one direction, and an on-ramp in the other direction. The dataset contains 8,648 trajectories and covers 87 min and an ∼1,200 m long section of the road. The trajectories were extracted from drone videos using a posttrained YOLOv5 object detection model and projected onto the road surface via three-dimensional (3D) camera calibration. The postprocessing methodology can compensate for most false detections and yield accurate speeds and accelerations. The trajectory data are also compared with induction loop data and vehicle-based smartphone sensor data to evaluate the plausibility and quality of the trajectory data. The deviations of the speeds and accelerations are estimated at 0.45 m/s and 0.3 m/s2, respectively. We also present some applications of the data, including traffic flow analysis and accident risk analysis.

Laminated composite ,Marine structure ,Failure criteria ,Joint method ,Parametric composite design ,Technology - Abstract
The demand for the application of laminated composite materials is getting significant in the marine industry due to the advantages of use and life, maintenance, and efficiency of requirements and design over conventional materials. However, these materials are known to be highly susceptible to impact damage mainly due to out-of-plane impact events involving multiple interacting failure modes. The novel characteristics of the marine environment, such as extreme environments and long-term seawater influence, pose unique challenges to the resilience of these composites. Considering the expanding use of composite in complex marine structures and challenging marine environment conditions, this paper comprehensively reviews the composite research and development in marine applications to enable predictive models that can be safely used to achieve sustainable, efficient, robust, and safe design of marine engineering structures. The reviews cover the composite applications in the marine industry, novel marine characteristics for composite material, layering mechanism, material characterization, and damage mechanisms in composites due to various loading conditions in four different categories (delamination, matrix cracking, fiber breakage, and complete perforation), parametric joint method (vacuum and adhesive), and the failure criteria (debonding and interfacial delamination). This research brings valuable contributions in enriching the understanding and design of laminated composite structures by adopting the latest research trends. Applying advanced materials and numerical simulation has brought efficiency and effectiveness to analyzing laminated composite characteristics. Thus, this research opens new opportunities for further innovation and development in composite materials.

The scanning of weld seams can be used to evaluate the local weld toe geometry for fatigue assessments. Laser scanned weld seam profiles often contain noise which complicates the accurate measurement of the weld toe geometry. For that reason, filtering of the scanned data is necessary. The issue at hand is that a filtering method can significantly affect the measurement results. Therefore, a calibration of the filter input parameters is needed. In this study, a calibration method for filtered laser-scanned weld profiles is presented by using artificial weld toe geometries. The adjustment of different filter functions is achieved by using an optimization method on predefined weld toes with an artificial noise. The resulting input data for the filter functions is tested on a real specimen to verify the method. Through the calibration method it is possible to achieve satisfactory measurement results with precisely set input parameters for the filter functions. The most suitable filter functions for the measurement of the weld toe are the Gaussian and the Lowpass filter. Both functions are adequate as a universally applicable filter. For the evaluation of the measurement results of the radii and angles, a tolerance range is introduced, which is defined by the theoretically minimum measurable radii and angles. Using an adjusted Lowpass filter and a point distance of 0.07 mm set by the laser scanner, a measurement within the tolerance range of 0.2 mm is achievable for the weld toe radius. For the weld toe angle, the tolerance range of 1.5° is achieved for the majority of measurements.

Background: Compared to efficacy research, studies investigating the processes of change in psychological therapy are rare, especially for internet-based interventions. While many online therapies are based on face-to-face therapy protocols, it is unknown whether the processes of clinical improvement differ between these treatment formats. Objective: To examine candidate change processes in an online therapist-guided cognitive therapy intervention for social anxiety disorder (iCT-SAD), and compare the results to the corresponding face-to-face therapy (CT-SAD). Methods: Data from a randomised controlled trial (n = 99) were analysed using Multilevel Structural Equation Models, incorporating the temporal precedence of the process variable, and disaggregating the within- and between-subject components of the predictors. These examined three candidate change processes: self-focused attention, negative social cognitions, and depressed mood. Moderated mediation models provided an additional test of the moderating effect of treatment format. Results: Negative social cognitions and self-focused attention were supported as significant mediators of clinical improvement in both CT-SAD and iCT-SAD. Effects were of similar strength and moderated mediation was not observed. There was also evidence of cyclical relationships between social anxiety symptoms and these process variables. Depressed mood also emerged as a significant but weak mediator in CT-SAD, but not in iCT-SAD. Moderated mediation was not observed. Conclusion: The online format of therapy showed a similar pattern of change processes to face-to-face treatment, with self-focused attention and negative social cognitions mediating clinical improvement in both treatments. Efforts to improve the efficacy and efficiency of SAD interventions by targeting these factors may therefore be equally applicable to online and face-to-face interventions.

We present predictions and postdictions for a wide variety of hard jet-substructure observables using a multistage model within the JETSCAPE framework. The details of the multistage model and the various parameter choices are described in [A. Kumar et al., arXiv:2204.01163]. A novel feature of this model is the presence of two stages of jet modification: a high virtuality phase [modeled using the modular all twist transverse-scattering elastic-drag and radiation model (MATTER)], where modified coherence effects diminish medium-induced radiation, and a lower virtuality phase [modeled using the linear Boltzmann transport model (LBT)], where parton splits are fully resolved by the medium as they endure multiple scattering induced energy loss. Energy-loss calculations are carried out on event-by-event viscous fluid dynamic backgrounds constrained by experimental data. The uniform and consistent descriptions of multiple experimental observables demonstrate the essential role of modified coherence effects and the multistage modeling of jet evolution. Using the best choice of parameters from [A. Kumar et al., arXiv:2204.01163], and with no further tuning, we present calculations for the medium modified jet fragmentation function, the groomed jet momentum fraction $z_g$ and angular separation $r_g$ distributions, as well as the nuclear modification factor of groomed jets. These calculations provide accurate descriptions of published data from experiments at the Large Hadron Collider. Furthermore, we provide predictions from the multistage model for future measurements at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider., Comment: 20 pages, 12 figures

Abstract The azimuthal anisotropy of particles associated with jets (jet particles) at midrapidity is measured for the first time in p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{{\textrm{s}}_{\textrm{NN}}} $$ = 5.02 TeV down to transverse momentum (p T) of 0.5 GeV/c and 2 GeV/c, respectively, with ALICE. The results obtained in p-Pb collisions are based on a novel three-particle correlation technique. The azimuthal anisotropy coefficient v 2 in high-multiplicity p-Pb collisions is positive, with a significance reaching 6.8σ at low p T, and its magnitude is smaller than in semicentral Pb-Pb collisions. In contrast to the measurements in Pb-Pb collisions, the v 2 coefficient is also found independent of p T within uncertainties. Comparisons with the inclusive charged-particle v 2 and with AMPT calculations are discussed. The predictions suggest that parton interactions play an important role in generating a non-zero jet-particle v 2 in p-Pb collisions, even though they overestimate the reported measurement. These observations shed new insights on the understanding of the origin of the collective behaviour of jet particles in small systems such as p-Pb collisions, and provide significant stringent new constraints to models.

Abstract The ALICE experiment was proposed in 1993, to study strongly-interacting matter at extreme energy densities and temperatures. This proposal entailed a comprehensive investigation of nuclear collisions at the LHC. Its physics programme initially focused on the determination of the properties of the quark–gluon plasma (QGP), a deconfined state of quarks and gluons, created in such collisions. The ALICE physics programme has been extended to cover a broader ensemble of observables related to Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions. The experiment has studied Pb–Pb, Xe–Xe, p–Pb and pp collisions in the multi-TeV centre of mass energy range, during the Run 1–2 data-taking periods at the LHC (2009–2018). The aim of this review is to summarise the key ALICE physics results in this endeavor, and to discuss their implications on the current understanding of the macroscopic and microscopic properties of strongly-interacting matter at the highest temperatures reached in the laboratory. It will review the latest findings on the properties of the QGP created by heavy-ion collisions at LHC energies, and describe the surprising QGP-like effects in pp and p–Pb collisions. Measurements of few-body QCD interactions, and their impact in unraveling the structure of hadrons and hadronic interactions, will be discussed. ALICE results relevant for physics topics outside the realm of QCD will also be touched upon. Finally, prospects for future measurements with the ALICE detector in the context of its planned upgrades will also be briefly described.

Mechanically transmissible and stable viruses such as tobamoviruses, which include Tobamovirus fructirugosum (syn. tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV), will continue to pose major challenges for farmers. Consequently, holistic hygiene concepts are being implemented to prevent the introduction and spread of these viruses. The decontamination of tires and castors was previously a weak point in many industrial hygiene concepts. For this reason, the ProfilGate clean-off zone was tested in combination with the disinfectant MENNO Florades for the decontamination of ToBRFV-contaminated tires. In total, 478 tire segments were sampled to evaluate the contamination of ToBRFV and the following decontamination of the tires. This treatment reliably removed high (4.5 µg/cm2), medium (0.45 µg/cm2), and low concentrations (0.045 µg/cm2) of ToBRFV from the tires, as shown by a bioassay. The reduction in necrotic local lesions on susceptible indicator plants N. tabacum cv. Xanthi NN was between 91.9 and 97.6%. The reduction in ToBRFV contamination largely depended on the length of the rollover distance, i.e., the number of tire rotations. For transport trolleys with polyamide and rubber tires, depletions of 97.4 and 97.6%, respectively, was determined after 16 rotations. For transport wagons with tires twice the size and polyurethane tread, the depletion was still at least 91% after eight wheel turns. Even in the case of gross soiling of the tires, the mean reduction from the different tread materials was 80.9 to 98.9%. Subsequent analysis of the clean-off zone revealed that ToBRFV did not accumulate, even when the contaminated tires were driven over several times, but was safely inactivated completely in the disinfectant solution. This provides growers with an effective tool for preventing the introduction and spread of ToBRFV.

Considering the multifaceted nature of neurodegenerative diseases like dementia and the necessity for interprofessional knowledge, this research extends its scope to encompass professionals with diverse levels of training and experience in dementia care. A need analysis for the project “My INdividual Digital EDucation.RUHR” (MINDED.RUHR) is conducted to develop an automatized recommender system for individual learning content using AI. In this sub-study, the aim was to reveal didactic specialties, knowledge gaps, and structural challenges of further education in dementia care of different health professions and to derive learning preference personae. Eight focus group interviews among nine health professions and up to six participants (N = 34) each took place to survey distinct didactic experiences and learning needs. The results reflect various learning preferences, with a propensity to multimedia, practical, and interactive tasks. Health professions are used to digital education but show aversions against synchronous e-learning formats. The derived learning preference personae constitute profound blueprints for a user-centered digital education design process, aiming to establish personalized and representative further education in dementia care applicable to various individual preferences and structural workplace challenges of healthcare professions.

Nuclear Experiment - Abstract
Jets are generated in hard interactions in high-energy nuclear collisions. Jets propagate through the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) as the jet shower evolves; their interaction with the QGP, known as jet quenching, generates observable phenomena that provide incisive probes of the structure and dynamics of the QGP. For instance, medium-induced modification of jet substructure probes color coherence, and may be sensitive to differences in quark and gluon energy loss due to their different Casimir factors. Jet grooming can be used to focus on specific regions of phase space, isolating medium-induced effects on hard splittings in the jet shower. ALICE is well suited for such substructure measurements due to its precise charged-particle tracking, which enables high-efficiency measurements of narrow splittings in jets down to low transverse momentum. In these proceedings several recent jet substructure measurements in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV are reported, for both ungroomed jets and jets that have been groomed using the Soft Drop and Dynamical Grooming algorithms. Measurements of the groomed jet radius, $\theta_g \equiv R_g/R$; the groomed jet momentum fraction, $z_g$; and the groomed relative transverse momentum, $k_{\mathrm{T,g}}$ are reported. These measurements show direct evidence of modification of the angular structure of jets in the QGP, and provide new constraints on the search for large-angle scattering of jets off of quasi-particles by interaction with the QGP. New measurements of sub-jet fragmentation, generalized jet angularities, and jet-axis differences, which provide insight into the angular and momentum structure of modified jets are also presented. Comparisons to model calculations are discussed., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, Proceedings of the 41st International Conference on High Energy Physics (ICHEP 2022), Bologna, Italy, 6-13 July, 2022

The conceptual interpretation of valence- and sea-quark separation, which is a key aspect of the parton model and of an intuitive picture of hadron structure, becomes obscured by quantum effects in QCD. This suggests that there may be measures of entanglement between quark degrees of freedom that are present in QCD, but absent in the intuitive picture with a clear valence-sea (VS) separation. In this paper, we define the first rigorous measure of VS entanglement in QCD in an attempt to bring conceptual clarity to this issue, and, potentially, to find a measure of the applicability of the parton model to QCD bound states. This VS entanglement vanishes in the large-$N_c$ limit, and it remains low when finite-$N_c$ states resemble their large-$N_c$ counterparts. We perform a numerical study of VS entanglement in 1+1 dimensional discrete light-cone quantized QCD, and in the process develop a method for building the color-singlet basis of 1+1d QCD that is manifestly complete and orthogonal by construction. We calculate this VS entanglement entropy for the first time and find that it is relatively low for the first few excited states of both mesons and baryons compared to all other states in the spectrum, with the VS entropy of ground state hadrons providing a minimum. We also see that for ground state mesons the entropy is well described in the $1/N_c$ approximation. These results suggest that low energy hadrons may be the only QCD bound states for which the large-$N_c$ expansion, and perhaps the parton model, provide an accurate description. This work also provides the first evidence that the VS entanglement entropy of QCD in 3+1d, which would likely serve as an order parameter for the transition between quark and hadron degrees of freedom, may be perturbatively accessible through a large-$N_c$ expansion., Comment: 58 pages, 15 figures
