This article aims to analyze the “Robim Good” project – a digital platform for sharing urban knowledge and info about upcoming local campaigns. A vacuum among urban initiatives was established in Belarus because of the repressive policy of the authoritarian regime. As a result, around 965 non-profit organizations have been shut down. Nonetheless, there was a demand from activists to create a safe managerial organization that focused on urbanism. The “Robim Good” project became a solution. The research question is as follows: what is the value orientation of the analyzed digital platform that attracts new participants? The paper applies the value-based approach in NGO engagement. The analysis shows that one of the main promoted values and key characteristics of the digital ecosystem is security, which is directed at overcoming the dangers of the unpredictable regime. Subsequently, “Robim Good” has been able to engage volunteers and survive after a year of activity.

The article is devoted to researching the Labour Market Digital Ecosystem (LMDES) in terms of its effect on the recruitment process during the remote work outspread. The research aims at analysing remote staff attraction through job portals using the Job board software and determining their impact on recruitment. The LMDES applies automation of the staff searching and selecting, scouring for employment opportunities, and the remote interaction with employers, recruiting agencies, applicants, and job seekers in the digital environment. The creation of a virtual space for such an effective interaction can be realised through a Job board software.

Digital platforms play a central role in the development of the Digital Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (DEE). The growing body of research addressing the issue of imbalances in DEEs has raised the challenge of how to recommend policies specifically designed to overcome the causes of such imbalances. This paper explores the issue of platformization in three developed and high-income countries in the European Union: Germany, France and Austria. The framework and empirical measurement of the Digital Platform Economy (DPE) Index are used to analyze the state of DEE in these three countries, identify the most prominent weaknesses that could be barriers, and propose policy recommendations to overcome these barriers and promote the development of DEE. The results of the three-step investigation present the current state of DEE in each country and find that similar constraining elements in the Digital Multi-Sided Platforms of the three countries have the most potential to systemically disrupt the DEE balance. Tailor-made policies with a holistic approach are recommended to address these constraining elements and target overall DEE growth. The results of this study are expected to motivate future research highlighting the issues surrounding multi-sided platform markets in the context of digital economic development in the European Union. Introduction: The OneTouch Verio Reflect® (OTVR) Blood Glucose Meter features a color range indicator and provides on-meter guidance, insights, and encouragement. Diabetes management is enhanced by the OneTouch Reveal® (OTR) Mobile App. We sought to provide real-world evidence (RWE) that combining devices improves glycemia. Methods: Anonymized glucose and app analytics from more than 55,000 people with diabetes (PWDs) were extracted from a server. Data from their first 14 days using OTVR Meter and OTR App was compared with 14 days prior to 90- and 180-day timepoints using paired within-subject differences. Results: In people with type 1 (PwT1D) or type 2 diabetes (PwT2D), readings in-range (RIR 70–180 mg/dL) improved by 7.8 percentage points (57.9–65.7%) and 12.0 percentage points (72.8–84.8%), respectively, over 180 days and hyperglycemia (> 180 mg/dL) was reduced by − 8.4 percentage points (37.9–29.5%) and − 12.2 percentage points (26.2–14.1%). RIR improved by > 10 percentage points in 38% of PwT1D and 39% of PwT2D. PwT1D spending > 2 to 4 sessions or > 10 to 20 min per week on the app improved RIR by 7.0 and 8.2 percentage points, respectively. PwT2D spending > 2 to 4 sessions or > 10 to 20 min per week on the app improved RIR by 12.6 and 12.1 percentage points, respectively. In PwT1D or T2D, mean blood glucose reduced by − 14.3 and − 19.8 mg/dL, respectively, from baseline to 180 days, with no clinically meaningful changes in percentage of hypoglycemic readings (< 70 mg/dL). PwT1D 65 years and older performed the most app sessions (10 per week) and improved RIR by 7.9 percentage points. PwT2D 65 years and older spent more time on the app (45 min per week) than PwT2D of any other age and improved RIR by 7.6 percentage points. All glycemic changes were statistically significant (p < 0.0005). Conclusion: Real-world data from more than 55,000 PWDs demonstrates sustained improvements in readings in-range in PWDs using the OneTouch Verio Reflect Blood Glucose Meter and OneTouch Reveal App. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The availability of direct investments and venture capital largely determines the number of innovative projects, not only in terms of financial resources but also by supporting the infrastructure required for project success. In the present work, the effective development of a multilevel investment system based on venture capital for manufacturers of industrial machinery within the digital economy is outlined, on the basis of theoretical and methodological principles. In the economic realm, it seems that digitization in Russia depends on the creation of a system capable of supporting projects dependent on venture capital, including projects for the integration of end-to-end technologies within the enterprise. That would improve the prospect for attracting financial resources. A multilevel model of a digital ecosystem may be based on the components of a triple cognition model. A multivariant matrix of development scenarios is proposed for Russia's investment market, drawing on both direct investments and venture funds. This study explores the nexus between digital and green transformations—the so-called "twin" transition—in European regions in an effort to identify the impact of digital and environmental technologies on the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions originating from industrial production. We conduct an empirical analysis based on an original dataset that combines information on environmental and digital patent applications with information on GHG emissions from highly polluting plants for the period 2007–2016 at the metropolitan region level in the European Union and the UK. Results show that the local development of environmental technologies reduces GHG emissions, while the local development of digital technologies increases them, albeit in the latter case different technologies seem to have different impacts on the environment, with big data and computing infrastructures being the most detrimental. We also find differential impacts across regions depending on local endowment levels of the respective technologies: the beneficial effect of environmental technologies is stronger in regions with large digital technology endowments and, conversely, the detrimental effect of digital technologies is weaker in regions with large green technology endowments. Policy actions promoting the "twin" transition should take this evidence into account, in light of the potential downside of the digital transformation when not combined with the green transformation. This research paper aims to identify the factors, components, and key aspects that significantly contribute to the establishment of a sustainable business ecosystem through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. By analysing prominent publications, we seek to describe coherent strategies with an expected impact. Our objectives encompass exploring trends from both theoretical perspectives, such as predictions by scientists, and empirical perspectives, including figures derived from studies. We outline several secondary objectives that guide our step-by-step approach. Firstly, we identify defining elements of a sustainable business environment based on insights from specialized literature. Secondly, we categorize ecosystems into different types, such as economic, digital, ecological, and entrepreneurial, providing further elaboration later in the paper. Thirdly, we present an updated understanding of the dynamic evolution of ecosystems and their components. This includes examining the influence of digital advancements and digitalization on the business environment, as well as the opportunities and threats they generate. Of particular importance is the role of universities as a significant landmark within the business ecosystem. We discuss the university's involvement in technological and informational transfer to ensure sustainability, focusing on the levers through which universities consolidate and stimulate the business ecosystem. To achieve our objectives, we employ bibliometric analysis, utilizing the VOSviewer software, which offers valuable insights for constructing diagnostic schemes and development models tailored to specific business environment challenges. The research methodology relies on the VOSviewer software for processing academic publication databases. To align with the theme and purpose of this study, we selected the SCOPUS database for its implicit certification of superior academic quality in the publications it contains.

This article examines the issue of distribution of liability for infringement of exclusive rights to trademarks in the sale of goods through marketplaces. Examined the legislation and case law of Russia and other countries on the liability for selling counterfeit goods on marketplaces. International and Russian legal practice in resolving disputes over infringement of exclusive rights to trademarks on e-commerce platforms was examined. Models of legal regulation of e-commerce in foreign countries were analysed. The conclusions have been formulated on the need for progressive development of legislation of the Russian Federation in the area under study, including regulation of e-commerce platforms, and measures to improve the liability of marketplaces and sellers for the sale of counterfeit products were developed.

The paper is aimed at developing an ecosystem that can be used within the domain of the circular economy on the foundation of Industry 4.0 technologies. The study emphasizes the importance of Industry 4.0 as a crucial element in the development of the circular economic ecosystem. The circular economic ecosystem is comprised of a business model, business strategies, and resources and capabilities supported by a circular economy framework. This study adopted literature review analysis and case studies as mythology to analyse and synthesize the latest trends and aspects developing within the framework of the circular economy. The major findings of this paper present a theoretical conceptual framework of a circular economic ecosystem that can be adopted at organizational level. The study also supplies a way forward for future studies in this research domain as there are several factors which are found but need to be explored.

Agriculture is one of the major sectors of the global economy and also a software-intensive domain. The digital landscape of agriculture is composed of multiple digital ecosystems, which together constitute an agricultural domain ecosystem, also referred to as the "Agricultural Data Space" (ADS). As the domain is so huge, there are several sub-domains and specialized solutions, and each of them poses challenges to interoperability. Additionally, farmers have increasing concerns about data sovereignty. In the context of the research project COGNAC, we elicited architecture drivers for interoperability and data sovereignty in agriculture and designed a reference architecture of a platform that aims to address these qualities in the ADS. In this paper, we present the solution concepts and design decisions that characterize the reference architecture. In light of the increasingly pivotal role of Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) in the escalating US-China competition, this paper explores why US-led anti-Chinese information and communications technology (ICT) campaigns have not resonated with African countries. It notes that Washington's narrative about China's ICT activities in the region corresponds with Stephen Walt's "balance of threat," emphasizing the threat of China and demanding that African states balance against its cyber aggression. It argues, however, that American policymakers should focus more on Randall Schweller's "bandwagoning for profit" to resist China's ICT influence in the region because the pitfalls of malignant Chinese ICTs are outweighed by the opportunities and prospects of mobile-driven digital transformation there. This paper explores Washington's unsatisfactory approach toward the SSA, traces China's long-term penetration into the digital sector among African countries, and argues that the country's strategic objective in the region is to establish a digital ecosystem filled with Chinese technologies and devices. It then evaluates the region's digital prospects and the yearning among African countries to learn from China's late development path. The paper concludes that China is not winning hearts and minds in the region and both strategies of balancing and bandwagoning persist in Sino-African relations. African countries would not always bandwagon with China if there were more alternatives. To resist the country's ICT influence in the region, Washington should engage with Africa's ICT industries, deepen trade relations and help to grow its digital economy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Digital ecosystem governance entails the management of complex, dynamic power relationships. As entrant platform providers seek to cultivate an ecosystem, they must carefully navigate these power relationships when dealing with governance tensions. Providers generally seek to leverage the ecosystem's generative potential by facilitating a variety of interactions and distributing design rights. Simultaneously, they need to ensure stability and order by imposing rules that resolve contentious matters and restrict ecosystem participants' degrees of freedom. This study explores how and why providers can induce ecosystem actors to engage in collaborative negotiation regarding such governance tensions through a case study of the introduction of an open data platform in the Swedish public transport sector. Our analysis offers three main contributions. First, it provides an empirical demonstration that entrepreneurial threats, as well as opportunities, can trigger platform launches and drive collaborative negotiation of digital ecosystem governance. Second, it extends conceptualizations of boundary resources beyond the current focus on transactional elements by demonstrating the role of interactive boundary resources in the negotiation of governance grounded in both social and systemic power relationships. Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility of using a smartphone-based care management platform (sbCMP) and robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty (raTKA) to collect data throughout the episode-of-care and assess if intra-operative measures of soft tissue laxity in raTKA were associated with post-operative outcomes. Methods: A secondary data analysis of 131 patients in a commercial database who underwent raTKA was performed. Pre-operative through six week post-operative step counts and KOOS JR scores were collected and cross-referenced with intra-operative laxity measures. A Kruskal–Wallis test or a Wilcoxon sign-rank was used to assess outcomes. Results: There were higher step counts at six weeks post-operatively in knees with increased laxity in both the lateral compartment in extension and medial compartment in flexion (p < 0.05). Knees balanced in flexion within < 0.5 mm had higher KOOS JR scores at six weeks post-operative (p = 0.034) compared to knees balanced within 0.5–1.5 mm. Conclusion: A smartphone-based care management platform can be integrated with raTKA to passively collect data throughout the episode-of-care. Associations between intra-operative decisions regarding laxity and post-operative outcomes were identified. However, more robust analysis is needed to evaluate these associations and ensure clinical relevance to guide machine learning algorithms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

While the notion of digitalization and sustainability has become prominent in current research, more can be done to bridge these two concepts and explain the interaction between them. Plenty of literature has focused on the impact of digital technology applications and business model innovations on environmental performance but has not considered the counterforce of environmental performance on digitalization. We investigated this question from the perspective of digital ecosystem architects to explore more organic relationships. By analyzing data from 1083 listed firms from 2014 to 2019, we found various effective paths for architects to participate in the digital ecosystem and determined that improved environmental performance has led to more efficient convergence. Digital servitization adopted by private architects contributes to financial performance, whereas the addition of digital infrastructure enables public architects to play a greater role. This is reflected in the discovery that firms with "high" environmental performance can improve their financial performance far more significantly with the help of digital servitization compared to other firms. However, digital infrastructure development can benefit all firms almost indiscriminately. We encourage firms and governments to work together to strengthen digital infrastructure, build digital ecosystems, and focus on environmental performance while transitioning to digital servitization. Adherence to recombinant human growth hormone (r-hGH; somatropin, [Saizen®], Merck Healthcare KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany) treatment is fundamental to achieve positive growth outcomes in children with growth disorders and to improve quality of life and cardiometabolic risk in adult patients affected by GH deficiency. Pen injector devices are commonly used to deliver r-hGH but, to the authors' knowledge, none is currently digitally connected. Since digital health solutions are rapidly becoming valuable tools to support patients to adhere to treatment, the combination of a pen injector connected to a digital ecosystem to monitor treatment adherence is an important advance. Here, we present the methodology and first results of a participatory workshop that assessed clinicians' perceptions on such a digital solution -- the aluetta™ smartdot™ (Merck Healthcare KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany) -- combining the aluetta™ pen injector and a connected device, components of a comprehensive digital health ecosystem to support pediatric patients receiving r-hGH treatment. Hate speech is very present in digital communicative ecosystems; although it does not originate in online communication, certainly the speed and pervasiveness of social media and digital platforms have played an important role in the processes of establishing such communicative practices. However, it is impossible to understand hate speech without placing it in the broader framework of information disorder and its relationship with the emergence of the platform society. This essay relates online hate speech to the practices of information disorder, which, moreover, are increasingly characterised as systemic and functional to the fragmentation of the public sphere. The essay also illustrates how manipulative dynamics not only feed the information disorder but tend to transform it into a new disinformation order, moreover functional to the information system at the time of neoliberal rationality. Objective: This article aims to answer the following research question: How does the digital connectivity capacity of the digital ecosystem mediate the strategy's impact on digital business performance? Design / methodology / approach: A survey was applied and for analysis, the modeling of structural equations of partial least squares (PLS-SEM) with the SmartPLS software was used. Results: The main results indicate that the ability to respond to market and consumer demands is essential for the performance of the digital business, and strategies must be established to increase the product portfolio and increase the speed of decisionmaking. Research limitations / implications: The main limitation of the study is due to the fact that the research companies are from the retail sector. Practical implications: It was found that companies need to consider the ecosystem in their digital transformation strategy, as it allows flexibility in the connection between business actors, positively influencing financial performance. Theoretical implications: The main theoretical implication is that the study presents a research model that seeks to measure the impact of digital strategies on digital business performance, mediated by the connectivity capacity of the ecosystem. This evaluation aims to get an overview of the implementation of the National Seminar: Building a Digital Metaverse Ecosystem in Libraries. The description of the implementation becomes the basis of measuring the level of success of the seminar. Excess becomes something that should be maintained and improved. The deficiencies become a reflection and input for the implementation of the next seminar. This evaluation was conducted using a descriptive approach and quantitative research methods. The instruments used questionnaire using Likert scales. The respondents were seminar participants that were present at the time of implementation and obtained 51 respondents that filled out the survey link. The data which was collected was quantitative data, processed by SPSS 20 and then analyzed descriptively. The theory used as the basis is Kirkpatrick's model of evaluation theory. The results of the analysis show that the implementation of the seminar has gone well and the material which was presented, answered the needs of the participants. The topics that were presented attracted and answered the needs of information participants. According to the objectives of the seminar, the materials answered the challenges to community need in the Society 5.0 era. The resource person conveys the material clearly, easy to understand, structured manner and understandable. The quality of the audio and images was interesting enough to make the participants comfortable and easy to understand the materials. The article is devoted to the study of the paradigm of accounting, control and analytical information that affects the success of business processes in the corporate and state sectors of the economy. The authors propose the step-bystep development of the methodology for managing big data and the creation of corporate digital ecosystems (CECE). This includes clarifying the content of the digital ecosystem concepts as well as the development of a mechanism for collecting and processing information for corporate management (using modern digital technologies and system financial platforms) with the conclusion that the most productive is the distributed ledger technology (DIT). On the basis of a clear identification of the positive and negative consequences of scaling the CECC, recommendations were made on the technology for transferring reporting data. It has been proven that DIT offers a choice for the best scaling options, can be also applied when transferring reporting information to various higher authorities. It has been determined that the search for new and improvement of the applied technologies for managing big data is actualized as the information field expands and its diversity. The possibilities of collaboration of database management systems (DBMS) are disclosed and directions for improving the efficiency of new digital technologies for managing accounting and control information (distributed registers and their variants) are identified both for large ecosystems (the economy of the country, territories, regions, clusters and banking and other large holdings) and small (economic entities and their information technology and economic departments).

Digital transformation, at present, can be recognized as one of the crisis management tools. Therefore, the relevance of scientific work is manifested in the peculiarities of organisation management in the digitalisation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The subject of the study is the experience of applying digital business transformation in foreign companies. The analysis of new trends in the digital technologies development, as well as their impact on the business processes transformation, taking place in foreign companies has been carried out. The main features of the organisation’s management in the digitalisation during the COVID-19 pandemic have been determined. The scientific novelty lies in the identification and study of the main ways of mastering digital technologies used by foreign organisations during the crisis in order to maintain business competitiveness.

Coastal communities across the globe are prone to imminent disasters and emergencies due to their geographic placement, and their fishing occupations add to their exposure to ocean-related disasters more during their occupational voyage. The fishermen in the state of Kerala, India, lead a distinctive lifestyle compared to the mainstream community, primarily because of a significant digital divide. This divide hampers their access to livelihood support, such as live market information and impedes any potential improvement in their quality of life through digital services. The community's transformation is possible only through discrete and gradual steps of progression by bringing services to different areas such as education, connectivity, technology adoption, business, and livelihood. This study revealed prevalent gaps in the fishing community, including a lack of digital access and communication opportunities in the deep ocean, a deficiency in digital capacity preventing them from leveraging the benefits of Information and communications technology (ICT), leading to community isolation from digital inclusion and limiting economic opportunities. To address these issues, the study proposes an IoT-enabled digital ecosystem, transforming the community into a smart digital community. This ecosystem integrates a low-cost deep ocean communication solution, supportive software applications, a blockchain-based e-commerce platform, and a sustainable social change model for technology adoption. Proper adoption and utilisation of the digital ecosystem can strengthen the community's resilience to natural disasters, and climatic changes by providing relevant information and livelihood resilience by offering them an e-commerce platform to improve income and reduce their vulnerability. Participation and inclusion in the business ecosystem have emerged as a growing trend for company collaboration in areas such as innovation, product development, and research. Collaborations can take many forms, ranging from the traditional value chain to strategic alliances, corporate networks, and digital ecosystems. The Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data Analytics (BDA) play key roles in developing smart tourism destinations by delivering efficient management solutions, increased public safety, and improved operational efficiency while managing different risks and challenges, while also being a source of such risks and challenges. The objective of this article was to investigate the potential of IoT and BDA to properly control the risks associated with participants in a tourism destination’s digital ecosystem. The authors used the systematic literature review (SLR) method to examine scientific and applied articles on this subject. As a result, the main risks of the digital tourism ecosystem (DTE) as a whole and of the IoT and BDA technologies used in it were identified and classified; the features of DTE that affect risk management in it were distinguished; IoT technologies and their applications used in DTE were outlined; and the roles of DTE participants and the possible IoT technologies that can successfully address the risks associated with a given role were defined.
