The purpose of this paper is to find out whether a screenplay can remain faithful to the original literary text. The passage from a literary work to an audiovisual product always involves three authors: the writer, the screenwriter and the film director. There are, then, three different texts (literary work, screenplay and film), each with its own grammar and narrative techniques. As an example, we have chosen The Garden of the Finzi-Continis by Giorgio Bassani. The analysis of the transition from text to film focuses on two aspects of the transition: changes of the narrative structure and the relationship between literary and cinematographic discourse. As regards the first point, it must be taken into account that it is impossible to achieve the exact reproduction of the narrative sequences; therefore, some of these will have to be excluded, others changed and others added to provide further information. The second point concerns the comparison of the novel's language, the screenplay and the film, analyzing some of the most emblematic scenes of the story. In conclusion, the screen adaptation of a literary work must be regarded as a process capable of transforming literary matter into filmic matter. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Translation is one activity which needs strategy. In translation there are many strategies which can be used to translate one language to another language. There are technique, method, strategy and procedure. In this study, the researcher provides vivid comprehension on how the translator used the translation procedures to render the meaning of the dialogue. The study attempted to focus on the dialogue translation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and its Indonesian version translated by Agustina Reni Eta Sitepoe. The objectives of the study were to describe the translation procedures used in translating the dialogue in the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland novel. In conducting this research, the writer used descriptive qualitative approach. This study applied the theory proposed by Vinay and Darbelnet (in Hatim and Munday 2004:30) about translation procedures. The data in this study were words, phrases, clauses and sentences in the form of utterances in the dialog of the novel. The results of the study showed that there were 213 data of dialogues and seven translation procedures found in this study. The seven translation procedures were transposition, literal translation, modulation, adaptation, equivalence, calque, and borrowing. The translation procedures mostly used was transposition (76.99%), followed by literal translation (8.92%), modulation (7.98%), adaptation (2.81%), equivalence (1.87%), calque (1.40%), and borrowing (0.46%).

In this contribution we explore novel, different ways of promoting public engagement in biomedical research using biobanks. Starting from a discussion about the limits of traditional formal procedures of engaging participants in biobanking activities, the contribution proposes two approaches to public involvement that use the Science Museum as an agora for communicating and representing the complex scientific, societal and ethical issues involved in contemporary biomedical research. The role of museum exhibitions, metaphors and languages of art and theater, as well as other forms of dialogues, are discussed as a way of shaping popular imaginaries about scientific research, in order to complement mechanisms of public engagement with novel forms of stimulating public understanding of scientific research using tissues and genomic data.

- Abstract
This article examines the ways in which girls with disabilities (GWD) in the Global South, in this case Vietnam, could engage in policy dialogues by examining the ways in which these girls can raise their voices through what we describe as 'knowledge mobilisation spaces'. Specifically, we ask: How can researchers engage in activist work with girls and young women with disabilities? What do we learn from their voices? How can knowledge mobilisation strategies such as photo exhibitions and video screenings become creative spaces for supporting their dialogues with policymakers and other stakeholders? Drawing on a research project, 'Transforming Disability Knowledge, Research, and Activism', we reflect on our experiences as activist researchers to discuss the opportunities and challenges of facilitating dialogues with GWD. In particular, we discuss opportunities for creating more inclusive dialogues with these girls and young women through a workshop, called "I Am A Leader Because ... ". With this approach we highlight the importance of creating spaces for GWD to become activists in their lives using their stories and the dialogues generated through these spaces. Such an approach allows for more democratic spaces and for voices to be heard in inclusive policy dialogues. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari who lived from 1710 to 1812 in Borneo, Indonesia, applied a model of integrating uses of the Banjarese tradition into Islamic Jurisprudence based on a dialectical constitution of qiyās, the legal argumentation theory for parallel reasoning and analogy, he learned from the Shāfi'ī-school of jurisprudence (uṣūl al-fiqh). Our paper focuses in the model of integration proposed and practiced by Al-Banjari, a rational debate grounded on a dynamic view on legal systems. We will illustrate the method with the help of two different kinds of qiyās deployed by Al-Banjari in order to argue for the rejection of some traditional Banjarese offering-rituals for avoiding disease or calamities (manyanggar and mambuang pasilih), and for the acceptance of the use of consuming the traditional drink called lahang made of the juice of sugar-palm. As our dialogical reconstruction shows, the development of the debates, particularly the first one, is quite sophisticated, with a Banjarese opponent that does not surrender easily to the rejection of his use of those rituals. - Abstract
From antiquity until the present, libraries have served to witness cultural and religious exchanges between civilizations. A number of famous libraries have often acted as the cornerstones of the history of humankind in all its diversity. In 2014, in addition to the world congress of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), satellite meetings were held in Paris. The theme of these meetings was “Libraries at the Heart of Dialogue of Cultures and Religions”. The presentations centred around three aspects: “Religious Libraries and History,” “Anticipating and Facing Urgent Issues,” and “New Technologies and Networking to Solve Some Issues.”The publication of these proceedings allows to draw up a panorama of the questions raised by these themes, highlight some initiatives, and offer solutions or lines of thought to professionals and Library and Information Science students.

- Abstract
PLAYS FOR THREE is a unique anthology of 23 outstanding plays for three actors by an exciting mix of established and emerging playwrights. Everyone's heard that “Two's company, three's a crowd.” That may be true on a date, but on stage, three is a magic number. Add a third character to any interaction and the dramatic possibilities increase exponentially: suddenly there's competition, intrigue, shifting allegiances, comic misunderstandings, secrets and lies. Triangles make excellent drama, and three-handers offer the kind of substantial and challenging roles that actors love. Plays for Three offers six full-length and seventeen short plays featuring dramatic trios of every sort. This article explores ‘dialectical design dialogues’ as an approach to engage with ethics in everyday urban planning contexts. It starts from Paulo Freire’s pedagogical view (1970/2017), in which dialogues imply the establishment of a horizontal relation between professionals and amateurs, in order to understand, question and imagine things in everyday reality, in this case, urban transformations, applied to participatory planning and enriched through David Harvey’s (2000, 2009) dialectical approach. A dialectical approach to design dialogues acknowledges and renegotiates contrasts and convergences of ethical concerns specific to the reality of concrete daily life, rather than artificially presenting daily life as made of consensus or homogeneity. The article analyses an atlas as a tool to facilitate dialectical design dialogues in a case study of a low-density residential neighbourhood in the city of Genk, Belgium. It sees the production of the atlas as a collective endeavour during which planners, authorities and citizens reflect on possible futures starting from a confrontation of competing uses and perspectives of neighbourhood spaces. The article contributes to the state-of-the-art in participatory urban planning in two ways: (1) by reframing the theoretical discussion on ethics by arguing that not only the verbal discourses around designerly atlas techniques but also the techniques themselves can support urban planners in dealing more consciously with ethics (accountability, morality and authorship) throughout urban planning processes, (2) by offering a concrete practice-based example of producing an atlas that supports the participatory articulation and negotiation of dialectical inquiry of ethics through dialogues in a ‘real-time’ urban planning process.

Personnel from the armed forces, police, and health services are subject to split-second bias when interacting in crises, however, when it comes to communication and negotiations, deep knowledge about the dialogues is still unexplored. Our objective in this article is to achieve a better understanding of how emergency personnel use dialogue to mediate other peoples’ actions in critical situations, and how the new knowledge can help these professionals to increase their impact. Our research has been guided by the following research question: When in a crisis, how do emergency personnel’s utterances function as auxiliary stimuli to mediate other peoples’ higher-order thinking and voluntary action? Using a multiple case study design, emergency personnel from the armed forces, the police and the health services in Norway shared their experience from crises, encompassing three cases: (1) The Coaching in Crossfire, (2) The Axe Desperado and (3) The Still Face. Analysis of the qualitative data revealed the following findings, divided into five categories: (1) Unlocking Situations, (2) The Chain of Utterances, (3) The Impact of Auxiliary Stimulus, (4) The Mediation of Higher Mental Functions and (5) Renewed Volitional Action. We discuss our findings in the light of established perspectives associated with expertise, relations, emotions, and the Pygmalion Effect. Our research improves the knowledge on the potential of dialogue as a shared relational process, even when people are in a crisis situation. Thus, our research has practical implications for emergency personnel in relation to crisis management, as well as for human relations when a crisis suddenly occurs.

The Japan Geriatrics Society has so far announced "The Japan Geriatrics Society Position Statement 2012" and "Guidelines for the Decision‐Making Processes in Medical and Long‐Term Care for the Elderly – Focusing on the Use of Artificial Hydration and Nutrition" related to end‐of‐life care for older adults. In 2018, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare revised the "Guidelines for the Decision‐Making Processes in Medical and Long‐Term Care in the End of Life," recommending the practice of advance care planning (ACP). This was the first time when the Japanese government publicized its stance on ACP. Immediately after the government's announcement, the Japan Medical Association announced its committee report, "The Super‐aged Society and the End‐of‐life Care," which also recommended the practice of ACP. The guidelines were published when the society was experiencing substantial changes related to geriatric care in Japan, and required timely and ethically appropriate decision‐making processes. However, because ACP is a concept imported from English‐speaking countries, some Japanese people could find it difficult to understand the role and methodology of ACP because of differences in culture and the medical/long‐term care system. Therefore, the Japan Geriatrics Society has decided to publish the "Recommendations for the Promotion of Advance Care Planning" for medical and long‐term care professionals nationwide with the aim of using the recommendations on a daily basis. The society recognizes ACP as indispensable to improve end‐of‐life care for individuals, particularly for older adults. We anticipate that the recommendations will provide practical guidance for those strenuously working toward this goal. Geriatr Gerontol Int 2020; 20: 1024–1028.. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
In sixteenth-century Spain, scholars published a series of texts aimed at defining both the rules that should guide the writing of history and the desired qualities of a good chronicler. The authors of these works argued that the image of a kingdom, and, consequently, its ruler, was formed based on the writings of those scholars in charge of recording the past. This study analyses Pedro de Navarra's 1565 text Dialogos qual debe ser el chronista del príncipe in an effort to understand how scholars defined the positions of chronicler and historian in Spanish society during this period. In addition, this article presents an annotated translation of Dialogos in order to bolster analysis of the king's chronicler's assigned functions and requirements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article aims to study the problem of the peculiarities of the communicative functions of interrogative sentences. The relevance of the problem is connected with the rich pragmatic fullness of these linguistic units. The issue of communicative functions of interrogative sentences was considered from the theory of speech acts, in which they are realized. Thus, examples of interrogatives were analyzed in representative, directive, commission, and expressive speech acts based on dialogues from the sitcom "Big Bang Theory". Determining the quantitative ratio of interrogatives in the composition of different types of speech acts and comparing these statistics with the results of another study allowed the authors to decide the most productive types. The prospect of further research is a more in-depth study of the pragmatics of interrogative sentences, as well as interdisciplinary research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LITERARY form ,URDU language ,PROSE poems ,NOVELISTS ,FICTION ,FICTION genres - Abstract
Creative and appropriate use of language is the basic tool of expression in a literary writing. The use of language not only manifests the contemporary features of a language but also its different shades as it is used in poetry and prose and fiction non-fiction genres. Moreover, it shows the uniqueness of a writer among his contemporaries. In novel narration and dialogues are two different areas where language is used in different ways. Narration shows the language of writer whereas the dialogues show the language used by characters. When novel introduced in Urdu as a literary genre, use of powerful narration has been one of its main features. Initially, novels of Nazir Ahmed were praised due to its narration and appropriate use of language and this tradition continues in later novels. However, the situation in criticism of novel is different. In the books written in Urdu on art of novel, the discussion on the use of language in fiction is mostly given less importance as compared to other features included in art of novel. After partition to contemporary era, novelists have presented a variety and creativity in narration as well as in dialogues by introducing flavor of other local languages in Urdu. The article discusses the importance and implications of use of language in narration and dialogues in a novel. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This study explores the similarities and differences in content between the dialogic and the narrative parts in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and between the novel's dialogues and those in its 1940 and 2005 film adaptations. These four datasets were semantically tagged and compared to one another by using qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings show how, in covering conceptual areas largely complementary to those of the narrative, the dialogues in the novel perform various communicative functions. The investigation also points to how dialogues are adapted to the semiotic needs and goals of its film adaptations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this paper is to indicate the sector around which the new reflections and epistemological horizons of interculturality revolve and are articulated. This sector consists of the excluded, the indigenous peoples and the poor in rights. In these spaces of intercultural reflection, various analyses are required in order to promote a participative culture capable of relying on its own sources and ancient knowledge; to this end, both a liberating pedagogy and the establishment of laws that defend victims (man and nature) are needed. This will lead to the creation of an intercultural society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In his study, the author proposes a discussion upon the spoken Romanian language, as it was registered within the pages of a bilingual grammar appeared in Wien at the end of the 18th century, more exactly, in Ioan Piuariu-Molnar's Gramatică germanoromână (1788) 'Romanian-German Grammar'. Beyond the descriptive characteristics of the grammar, within its pages, there is enclosed a range of conversational sentences (Some dialogues to express many ways of previous moods), where spoken language facts can be revealed, along the state of the Romanian language from that period, which can help us understand the most popular subjects or greetings of those times. Beside these aspects, the presenting method continues to be interesting, faithful sometimes to some models which overtook the Western Europe. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The public communication today has a wide scene in business environments. It is not exclusive to public institutions, nor is it restricted to companies that provide products or services for mass consumption. Why? Because today's world, the companies and brand´s narratives reach larger audiences than just those people who are directly related to the focus of the business, which requires thinking from the place and the purposes of public communication to manage reputation, as the center of corporate sustainability. This article relates the concepts of public communication, traditional corporate communication, and comprehensive corporate communication and, through interviews, presents experiences and visions of how these communication dynamics are lived today.

- Abstract
Students’ participation in English class is low and evidenced lack of vocabulary when they are exposed to speaking activities. To assist students overcome that situation, this innovation integrated pair work through recorded dialogues in a technical context. Participants studied at a public university located in Guayaquil (Ecuador). They belonged to the school of Net and Telecommunications. A mixed-design research was conducted. Quantitative instruments: pre and posttests, pre and post-surveys, and an action research were part of it. Data collected answered three research questions, two related to improvement in speaking in terms of vocabulary and fluency, and a third to know students’ perspectives towards this innovation. Results showed a large impact (Cohen’s d=2.97 – average of the three speaking components) for speaking due to the innovation (p < .001). Regarding students’ perspectives, the means of the post-survey were positive for the components of the innovation (pair work, planning and structuring, and recording of the dialogues). Implications of this study address other higher education authorities and EFL teachers who would like to engage students in the lessons with authentic and student-centered activities like pair-work and content of students’ field of interest., La participación de los estudiantes en la clase de inglés es baja y evidencia una falta de vocabulario cuando están expuestos a actividades orales.

131. Breakdown situations in dialogues between humans and socially intelligent agents

- Abstract
Dialogues between humans are complex due to the challenges in predicting how they will unfold as people may want to achieve different purposes. For instance, to act together, they co-create a common goal; to learn, they co-create knowledge; to build relationships, they share emotions and beliefs. Apart from different purposes, people may want to achieve multiple purposes in a dialogue, introducing a movement between goals. Such actions cause problems in understanding and conflicts among the participants. Activity Theory denotes such situations as breakdown situations, which also occur when people have dialogues with software agents driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI). This thesis falls within the domain of human-centred AI, focusing on software agents able to collaborate and support people to achieve their goals. We call these software agents socially intelligent agents. This thesis has two aims: (1) to develop an increased understanding of breakdown situations in dialogues between humans and socially intelligent agents and (2) to develop computational frameworks based on the developed understanding to manage breakdown situations, which could be embedded in an agent's cognitive architecture. The theoretical frameworks from social sciences, particularly Activity Theory, were applied to address the aims. They provided an alternate perspective that considers breakdown situations as opportunities to learn something new rather than the traditional view of them being errors or failures. The main contributions addressing the first aim were theory-driven analysis and empirical findings that provided increased knowledge of breakdown situations, resulting in design implications and future agendas guiding the subsequent research. The results informed the three strategies to manage breakdown situations by aligning, partially aligning or not aligning with human's intentions. We found that participants considered partial alignment as a sufficient level of agreement for potenti

- Abstract
To act against biodiversity loss in agriculture, participatory approaches involving farmers as co-designers of solutions are a possible solution to improve financial incentives on the EU level. However, not much research focuses on examining participatory processes, especially in the form of dialogue events. Thus, this study examined the dynamics of a dialogue event as part of the co-design project ECO2SCAPE. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of communicative rationality and symbolic interactionism, the research aimed to understand how the meaning of biodiversity conservation is interpreted during the dialogue and assessed the effectiveness of the dialogues in incorporating principles of communicative rationality in terms of openness, inclusivity, and equal participation. The study builds on one dialogue observation and six semi-structured phone interviews with participants of the observed dialogue event. The results showed that biodiversity protection symbolises for farmers a trade-off between conservation efforts and economic viability as well as farmers are burdened and demotivated by their societal image as environmental villains. In addition, the participants of the event actively engaged with each other in the dialogue to reach mutual understanding and common ground. Some aspects of the dialogue did not fully comply with the principles of communicative rationality, but were intentional, particularly empowering farmers to contribute to the discussion. From the results, it can be recommended that dialogues must provide positive results to challenge the notion of farmers as environmental villains, guarantee comprehensibility and build learning opportunities, and strengthen trust and collaboration among the participating stakeholders. In the end, these findings contribute to the field by providing insights into the dynamics of communication, the influence of identity on decision-making, and the importance of creating inclusive and transparent dialogue processe

- Abstract
This work is based on the funds of knowledge theory and invites to reflect on how to encourage classroom interactions that open up a space for learning in a meaningful manner to write in a second language. We claim that the creation of a “third space” (Gutierrez, 2008; Gutierrez, Rymes y Larson, 1996), one that allows for exchanges between the discourses and knowledge coming from the academic realm and those coming from students` background. In academic writing classes. We claim that the construction of this third space can help us to defy the traditional sequence of teacher-student exchanges (e.g., Mercer y Howe, 2012) and to offer an arena where students´ voices and ways of doing and being are taken into account, thus fostering their genuine participation. This reflection is based on classroom experiences implemented and evaluated for almost a decade and focuses on those teacher actions aimed at creating a third space where students and teacher can establish genuine dialogues. These exchanges are not only about texts but also and mostly about writing processes. Far from offering specific courses of action, this work intends to contribute with those disciplinary conversations that help us to keep on developing and improving the field of second language writing pedagogy, Este trabajo parte de la teoría de los fondos de conocimiento a fin de reflexionar sobre cómo podemos propiciar en el aula diálogos que den lugar a un aprendizaje significativo de la escritura en lengua extranjera.

- Abstract
Plays for Two is a unique anthology of twenty-eight terrific plays for two actors, by a mix of celebrated playwrights and cutting-edge new voices. It takes two to tango—or to perform a duet, fight a duel, or play ping-pong. The two-character play is dramatic confrontation stripped to its essence. These four full-length and twenty-four short plays feature pairs of every sort—strangers, rivals, parents and children, siblings, co-workers, friends, and lovers—swooning or sparring, meeting cute or parting ways. In a dizzying range of moods and styles, these two-handers offer the kind of meaty, challenging roles actors love, while providing readers and audiences with the pleasures of watching the complex give-and-take dynamics of two keenly matched characters.Plays by: Billy Aronson, David Auburn, Pete Barry, Naveen Bahar Choudhury, Anthony Clarvoe, Steven Dietz, Halley Feiffer, Simon Fill, Frank Higgins, David Ives, Jacob Juntunen, Ean Miles Kessler, Neil LaBute, Eric Lane, Kitt Lavoie, Jacqueline E. - Abstract
‘a one-off from the word go, and no history of English humour could overlook him.'Tom StoppardN.F. Simpson (1919-2011) was a leading exponent of the Theatre of the Absurd, with the Royal Court classics A Resounding Tinkle (1957) and One Way Pendulum (1959) sealing his reputation as a comic master with a subtle philosophical undertow.Emerging during a revolutionary period in British theatre, Simpson rose to prominence alongside Harold Pinter, John Osborne and Arnold Wesker. His work has been embraced and performed by comedy legends including Spike Milligan, Eric Sykes, Beryl Reid and Dick Emery. His influence spread widely, from Peter Cook's much loved character E.L. Wisty to Monty Python's Flying Circus, and helped spawn a generation of outstanding comic talent. This authorised collection presents the best of Simpson's short works for audiences new and old. Featuring more than sixty pieces from across six decades, the full spectrum of an extraordinary career is brought together in one volume for the first time: monologues, sketches, criticism and poetry, written for radio, television, stage and print. It includes all of Simpson's anarchic collaborations with Willie Rushton for Private Eye, a generous selection of previously unseen pieces from his final manuscript, as well as a critical introduction by Simpson collaborator Simon Usher.‘A wonderfully funny collection of the sort of short pieces that can only really find a suitable home in…well…a wonderfully funny collection of short pieces. Comic genius.'David Nobbs'This is a treasure trove of the work of a fine, original, comic mind.'Sheila Hancock‘A marvellous collection, showcasing the best of Simpson's benignly radical, gently subversive genius. The truly remarkable thing is that his characters'bizarre flights of lunacy seem saner and more rational with every passing year.'Jonathan Coe‘Reading N. F. Simpson for the first time all those years ago was a revelation, a Taj Mahal to the head. He laid the foundation for most of what I truly love about comedy; he was the fifth Goon, the seventh Python, the Wally in Pete'n'Dud'n'Wally, the third Booshista, the Godfather of English Absurdism and a phenomenally good writer. You should read him as a matter of extreme urgency.'Chris Addison‘N.F. Simpson is one of the greatest British philosophers and funniest playwrights of all time.'David Quantick‘You might call N.F. Simpson a surrealist if he were not so funny. Or the Spike Milligan of suburbia if his plays were not so crafted. But really he was a one-off from the word go, and no history of English humour could overlook him.'Tom Stoppard'Laugh out loud funny with a delightful sense of the absurd. A hilarious ode to the absurdity of the human spirit. Original, silly, and very funny.'Isy Suttie

Drawing from a case study on students’ responses to poetry in a Catalan public high school, this article shows how dialogues facilitate students’ aesthetic experiences. The study sheds light on how one on one, and small group conversations that occurred in interview situations -in connection with classroom activity- mediated these responses. As a way to understand dialogical mediation and the affordances of poems in student-reader activity, the analysis connects a sociocultural understanding of literary reading to readers’ response theory and its empirical study. Results show that in joint meaning-making activity students (a) live through emotional experiences and (b) respond to distinctive poetic devices, which, in turn, create opportunities (c) for their poetic literacy, and (d) ideological becoming (Bakhtin, 1981).

This thesis is a reflexion about interactions between all diferent aspects of the sound in movies and series that are music, sound design and dialogues. Through analysis and hypothesis, we will be focusing on the particularities of each of these sonic categories, on theboudaries that they share and in the way they meet each others, they blend and they merge in order to serve the narration being told by the audiovisual media.

During the last few decades many European countries have developed policies directed towards mineral deposit safeguarding. However, as other land uses often are in conflict with mineral deposit safeguarding, the implementation of these policies is many times more difficult in practice. The aim of this paper is to investigate the link between land use planning and mineral resources, when using a shared value perspective. The analysis is focused on the mineral-rich Nordic countries—Sweden, Norway and Finland—and a number of mining projects are analyzed. The analysis rests in Porter and Kramer’s arguments for the importance of creating shared values. The results indicate that a shared value perspective has been present in the analyzed case studies, as many of the key ways for creating shared value are identified in the projects. This illustrates the importance of linking social value to economic value in mining projects, even if this is not clearly stated in the relevant legislation. As it is often the unpredictability of the regulatory framework that hinders mineral extraction, it is suggested that Social Impact Assessments (or similar) are formalized in the regulatory framework to ensure that social value is linked more clearly to the land use process related to access to minerals.

The idyllic approach of this article deals with the dialogue between two distinct artworks: poems from the book Africa (Taylor, 2000), emphasizing the poem 'Waikiki', by the Australian poet, journalist and filmmaker Ken Taylor; and the movie Boy (Curtis, Gardiner, & Michael, 2010), directed by the New Zealander filmdirector, actor and writer Taika Waititi. The poems and the movie are connected by synesthetic perceptions, mostly related to painting, colorizing and shaping that are displayed in the described scenarios. Hereby, these aspects were theoretically reviewed by the following authors: Rimbaud (1966), Kandinsky (1977), Ostrower (1977), Bachelard (1986, 2011), Cytowic (1993), Berger (2008), Lambert (2010), among others. The method of analysis includes the concepts in which the art producers uncovers the relationship between nature and the self, considering the fact that beyond poet and director, respectively Taylor and Waititi are also painters. Nature is widely open before their meditative eyes, therefore rather than outreaching the natural world with motionless expectations; both portray idyllic wonders related to individual/cultural scopes. As a result, from its amorphous state, words transmute themselves into landscapes, sensations, and forms. The aim was to follow the paths that image evocates in the description of each author, since they share contemplativeness, surrounded by consciousness, perceptions and freedom, all demanded during the creative process. This paper explores community dialogues as social interaction in search for sexual diversity in Lesotho, in an effort to influence positive and more directional thinking towards sexuality and sexual behaviour. Guided by queer theory, we firstly explore cultural and religious dimensions defining acceptable and unacceptable sexual behaviour; their influence on attitudes towards the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (or queer) and intersex (LGBTQI) community, leading to their daily negative encounters; and, lastly, we suggest community dialogues as a mediator that influences more positive attitudes and guides acceptability towards this vulnerable population. Three main themes emerged after the adoption of a thematic analysis: there is denial of the LGBTQI existence; stigma and discrimination towards this minority population also prevail; and the LGBTQI population in Lesotho experience emotional and physical attacks. Plato is one of the greatest philosophers in the western philosophical tradition and he is the first one whose complete works are still available to us. We have very little data on his life and literary activity. As a result, many conflicting theories have been developed by scholars of various times regarding the interpretation of Plato's dialogues and their chronology to the extent it bears on that interpretation. This paper delves into one aspect of Platonic scholarship that studies the literariness in Plato's dialogues, taking illustrations from two of his works. It argues how Platonic scholarship is slowly paying attention to his rhetoric and poetry while studying his comments on the same. This paper aims at studying the platonic writings of Socrates' speeches from the current critical perspective of western scholars and presents sample dialogues. Stephen Halliwell, Annie Mary Bowery, Griswold and Kauffman are some of the leading Plato scholars who view these philosophic writings as dramatic dialogues that are descriptive.
