Abstract

A $C^2$ function on $\mathbb{R}^n$ is called strictly $(n-1)$-convex if the sum of any $n-1$ eigenvalues of its Hessian is positive. In this paper, we establish a global $C^2$ estimates to the Monge-Amp\`ere equation for strictly $(n-1)$-convex functions with Neumann condition. By the method of continuity, we prove an existence theorem for strictly $(n-1)$-convex solutions of the Neumann problems., Comment: arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1903.04231

Abstract

There are limited data on vascular, inflammatory, metabolic risk factors of dementia in Parkinson's disease (PD) with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) (PD-DM). In a study of 928 subjects comprising of 215 PD with DM (including 31 PD-DM with dementia, PD-DMD), 341 PD without DM (including 31 PD with dementia, PDD) and 372 DM without PD (including 35 DM with dementia, DMD) patients, we investigated if vascular, inflammatory, metabolic, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) markers were associated with dementia in PD-DM. Lower fasting blood glucose (FBG15μmol/L, OR=3.131; 95%CI: 1.243-7.888; p=0.015) and hyperlipidemia (OR=3.075; 95%CI: 1.142-8.277; p=0.026), increased age (OR=1.043; 95%CI: 1.003-1.084; p=0.034) were the most significant risk factors in PDD patients. Lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C4g/L, OR=4.066; 95%CI: 1.467-11.274; p=0.007) were the most significant risk factors in PD-DMD patients. The area under the curve (AUC) for fibrinogen and LDL-C was 0.717 (P=0.001), with a sensitivity of 80.0% for the prediction of PD-DMD.In summary, we identified several factors including LDL-C and fibrinogen as significant risk factors for PD-DMD and these may have prognostic and treatment implications.

Abstract

For 3D Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging, one typical approach is to achieve the cross-track 1D focusing for each range-azimuth pixel after obtaining a stack of 2D complex-valued images. The cross-track focusing is the main difficulty as its aperture length is limited and the antenna positions are usually non-uniformly distributed. Sparsity regularization methods are widely used to tackle these problems. However, these methods are of obvious limitations. The most well-known ones are their heavy computational burdens and unsatisfied stabilities. In this letter, an efficient deep network-based cross-track imaging method is proposed. When trained, the imaging process, i.e. the forward propagation of the network, is made up of simple matrix-vector calculations and element-wise nonlinearity operations, which significantly speed up the imaging. Also, we find that the deep network is of good robustness against noise and model errors. Comprehensive simulations and experiments have been carried out, and the superiority of the proposed method can be clearly seen., Comment: 5 pages, 9 figures

Abstract

Composite materials have been widely applied to the structure of high-speed flight vehicles due to their excellent performance. In hypersonic flight, the buckling and nonlinear flutter will occur in the composite panel on account of the combined action of unsteady aerodynamic load and thermal effect. In this paper, the nonlinear finite element model of the composite thin-walled structure considering thermal effect is established, and combined with the second-order loose coupling algorithm of dynamic-structure, the nonlinear aeroelastic response of composite panels at Ma∞=5 is analyzed. The influence of the direction of composite layer and tempera-ture load on the flutter characteristics of the panel is discussed. The results show that the flutter of the panel is affected by temperature load, layer direction and free stream dynamic pressure. The flutter critical dynamic pressure of the angle-ply panel is higher than that of the cross-ply panel (the increment is more than 55%). With the increase of temperature, the flutter pressure of the panels will decrease, and the maximum reduction is about 80%. While thermal buckling occurs, the flutter dynamic pressure will increase slowly. When the temperature exceeds the critical buckling temperature of the structure, the panel will have static buckling positions under subcritical conditions, and the buckling equilibrium position changes with different dynamic pressures.
