102. Fritidshemslektion: Mellan skola och fritids
- Abstract

In the present circumstances of COVID-19, the number of cases of corona virus is increasing at an alarming rate. Social distancing is a major factor to avoid the spread of corona virus. In this paper, we introduce a system for detection of people who are violating social distancing detection at any public place or within the premises of an organization. With no doubt, the COVID-19 pandemic has put the world to a halt. The world we lived in a few months prior is completely different than what it is now. The virus is spreading quickly and is a danger to the human race. Seeing the necessity of the hour one must always take certain precautions of which one being social distancing. Maintaining social distancing during COVID-19 is a must to ensure a slowdown in the growth rate of new cases. Our manuscript focuses on detecting if the people around are maintaining social distancing or not. Using our own self developed model named Social distancing detection for detecting the frame of a person and displaying labels, they are marked as safe or unsafe if the distance is less than a certain value. This system can be used for monitoring people via video surveillance in CCTV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Investigate symptoms and how they affect daily life in patients with Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC) treated with Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) instillations. Materials and methods: Patients treated with BCG were included. After an initial transurethral resection (TURB) followed by a second-look resection, the patients were given an induction course with BCG for 6 weeks followed by maintenance therapy for 2 years. The patients answered a questionnaire before, during and after the treatment. The questionnaire contained questions about specific symptoms combined with bother questions on how each symptom affected patients' life. Results: In total, 113 of 116 patients responded to the first questionnaire. Thirty per cent of all patients were bothered by disease-specific symptoms before the start of BCG. Few patients reported fever, haematuria, illness or urinary tract symptoms. No difference in symptoms was found between patients with or without concomitant CIS (carcinoma in situ). Patients younger than 65 years of age reported a greater worry about the symptom burden in the future than those who were older. Patients younger than 65 years reported a decreased level of mental well-being. Conclusion: Patients with bladder cancer T1G2-G3 had disease-specific symptoms present already before the start of the BCG. The burden of symptoms was reduced over time and showed that the bladder might recover. BCG instillations had side-effects that negatively affected the patient's well-being. It is important to record the patients' baseline bladder and voiding status before as well as during the BCG-instillation period in order to understand symptoms caused by the treatment. 106. Sårbarhetskartering. Stranderosion i kustområden
- Abstract

108. Business Intelligence: Understanding disparity in information interpretation
- Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand how business intelligence and the information it provides is interpreted by two different groups of people - the business users and the technical team in a BI system. To fulfill the purpose of the research an analytical process with an interpretive approach has been used. Through the Gioia methodology the study was conducted as a single case study at a staffing agency located in Sweden with approximately 800 employees. Eight interviews were conducted at the company with four members from the technical team and four members from the business users. The findings of this study shows that two aggregated dimensions have emerged - Use of BI and Nature of BI. The empirical investigation show a clear difference between the technical team and the business users perception of BI, which is highlighted by the emerged aggregated dimensions and the coherent second order themes. To conclude, this demonstrates that there are not only technical challenges with BI, but also intangible challenges. This means that there are disparities in understanding BI, as well as there are disparities in interpreting the information it provides., Syftet med denna studie är att förstå hur Business Intelligence och den tillhörande informationen tolkas av två olika grupper av människor - the business users och the technical team i ett BI system.

- Abstract
Nowadays, the surgical microscope is the goldstandard for microsurgical procedures. Additional functionalities such as surgical navigation, data injection or imageoverlay are providing additional valuable information to the surgeon. For substituting the conventional optical system by a fully-digital multi-camera setup the three dimensional (3D) reconstruction of the scenery in the field of view is required. However, for in camera-based systems, an exact alignment of the cameras is a challenging task. Therefore, a final adjustment through a digital image rotation becomes necessary. Even though the digital rotation is a commonly used procedure, it leads to unavoidable errors because of the discretized grid of the image. Previous research reported in literature has demonstrated that the method of digitally rotating the images combined with the Fourier interpolation delivers the results of best quality. Nevertheless, the performance evaluation of this algorithm was carried out rotating an image in multiple threestep rotations to a total of 90 or 180 degrees and comparing it to the original image rotated in one step. This is a valid approach because a rotation of 90 or 180 degrees does not produce rotation artifacts. In this research project, we verify the performance of the three-step rotation algorithm using recorded images for which the test pattern was rotated as ground truth. A series of photographs with a rotation angle of 3 to 45 degrees was created. The advantage of this setup is that the result of the digital rotation can be directly compared to the recorded image. In addition, with the knowledge obtained about the interpolation error, we can improve pixel matching in the further triangulation used for 3D reconstruction. By doing so, the estimation of the interpolation error helps to reduce the triangulation error. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Surfactants have been the basis for applications in several industrial sectors for a long time. However, fundamental research was 50 years ago still limited to a small number of academic groups and even basic aspects were controversial. The field has since undergone an enormous expansion and the improved understanding has laid the basis of numerous new products as well as been the basis of important parts of nano-science and -technology.The present author has during 50 years in academia devoted most of his research to amphiphilic compounds, including both surfactants and polymers. Hereby, I had the privilege of following a very exciting development. In 2015, I had the honour to receive the Life-time Achievement Award of IACIS, the International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists. IACIS organizes since the 1970s a tri-annual symposium, typically the best attended in the field. For the first time since 2000, it was in 2015 organized in Europe, namely Mainz, Germany. This treatise is based on my award lecture in Mainz, which covered developments from my first research as a new Ph D student in Stockholm to current work as an emeritus and visiting professor. Interestingly, discoveries in my very early work contributed to solving problems in now on-going research. Håkan Wennerström kindly wrote a quite comprehensive paper about my achievements a few years ago (Adv Colloid Interf Sci 205:1-8, [1]). In writing the present paper, I have strived at covering mainly topics not treated in detail by Håkan. In fact, I will emphasize very much our early studies as well as our studies of surfactant self-assembly by NMR and in particular look at the developments of our research and connections between different research topics. This paper presents a study to predict gender of individuals from scanned images of their handwritings. The proposed methodology is based on extracting a set of features from writing samples of male and female writers and training classifiers to learn to discriminate between the two. Writing attributes like slant, curvature, texture and legibility are estimated by computing local and global features. Classification is carried out using artificial neural networks and support vector machine. The proposed technique evaluated on two databases under a number of scenarios realized interesting results on predicting gender from handwriting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective. There are no data on the frequency of parastomal hernia (PSH) after ileal conduit with a prophylactic mesh. The primary objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of PSH. Secondary objectives were to elaborate whether age, gender, body mass index (BMI), previous laparotomy or diabetes influenced the outcome; and to find any mesh-related complications. Materials and methods. In a single centre during 2003-2012, a large-pore, lightweight mesh was placed in a sublay position in 114 consecutive patients with ileal conduits. Preoperative and postoperative patient data were retrospectively collected and cross-sectional follow-up was conducted. During the predefined clinical examination a PSH was defined as any protrusion in the vicinity of the ostomy with the patient straining in both an erect and a supine position. Results.Fifty-eight patients (24 women and 34 men, mean age 69 years) had follow-up examinations after a mean of 35 months (median 32 months). Bladder cancer was the most common cause for surgery. Eight patients (14%) had a PSH. Age, gender, BMI, previous laparotomy and diabetes did not affect the outcome. No mesh-related complications occurred among the 114 patients with a prophylactic mesh. Conclusions. The prevalence of PSH after ileal conduit with a prophylactic mesh corresponded to that of colostomies with a prophylactic mesh. A prophylactic mesh did not seem to be associated with complications. The degree to which a prophylactic mesh may reduce the rate of PSH after an ileal conduit should be established in randomized trials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

119. Kapacitetsutnyttjande på järnvägen år 2030
- Abstract
Ecological and evolutionary forces shaping the normal and abnormal microflora of the genital econiche are discussed, in particular those related to bacterial vaginosis, which worldwide is the most common vaginal infection, with numerous obstetrical and gynecological complications, including acquisition and transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Characterized by a heavy overgrowth of Gram-negative and Gram-positive anaerobes with no signs of inflammation, bacterial vaginosis has been regarded a microbiological and immunological enigma. Immune tolerance to both normal and abnormal vaginal microbiota, mainly derived from gut microflora, as a result of coevolution with humans might explain the absence of inflammation, supported by short-chain fatty acids, known to modulate immune responses, that are produced in large quantities by anaerobes. Recent studies have implicated the development of a vaginal biofilm with Gardnerella vaginalis and Atopobium vaginae as main players in the pathogenesis of bacterial vaginosis. Supporting this conclusion are data such as those demonstrating heavy growth of G. vaginalis and diversified anaerobes with numerous 'clue cells' that are sloughing off from the biofilm. Gardnerella and Atopobium organisms attached to these clue cells can be demonstrated in the male genital econiche, likely reflecting a heterosexual transmission of the disorder. - Abstract
Climate change is the modern society’s common issue. The developed countries are consuming more than what is sustainable, and the climate change due to the use of fossil fuels can be seen clearly. EU has specified goals, in order to stop further damage, which demand that every member state have to reduce its energy consumption by 20 % before 2020 and 50 % before 2050, relative to 1995. The Swedish government uses a number of instruments to encourage reduction in the usage of energy, but every individual has to contribute to reach the goals. With increasing energy price the cost of living is going up. A lot of people are looking for ways to save energy and not be affected as much by the increasing price. Investments for insulation, replacement of windows and replacing old heating system for a new efficient heat pump is getting more and more common. This thesis is about investigating the possibilities in becoming independent from buying energy for households. The thesis describes ways to use and store the abundant solar energy in the summer and transfer it to the winter. By building a neighborhood with five so called passive houses and having common installations, some costs of the expensive investment can be divided on more than one user. Then if the price of energy keeps on rising, it is possible to get a lower living cost compared to conventional housing developed according to the Swedish BBR demands. This system will become even more profitable when the skills and technology is perfected.

- Abstract

137. Regularized iterative weighted filtered backprojection for helical cone-beam CT
- Abstract
Contemporary reconstruction methods employed for clinical helical cone-beam computed tomography (CT) are analytical (noniterative) but mathematically nonexact, i.e., the reconstructed image contains so called cone-beam artifacts, especially for higher cone angles. Besides cone artifacts, these methods also suffer from windmill artifacts: alternating dark and bright regions creating spiral-like patterns occurring in the vicinity of high z-direction derivatives. In this article, the authors examine the possibility to suppress cone and windmill artifacts by means of iterative application of nonexact three-dimensional filtered backprojection, where the analytical part of the reconstruction brings about accelerated convergence. Specifically, they base their investigations on the weighted filtered backprojection method [Stierstorfer et al., Phys. Med. Biol. 49, 2209-2218 (2004)]. Enhancement of high frequencies and amplification of noise is a common but unwanted side effect in many acceleration attempts. They have employed linear regularization to avoid these effects and to improve the convergence properties of the iterative scheme. Artifacts and noise, as well as spatial resolution in terms of modulation transfer functions and slice sensitivity profiles have been measured. The results show that for cone angles up to ±2.78°, cone artifacts are suppressed and windmill artifacts are alleviated within three iterations. Furthermore, regularization parameters controlling spatial resolution can be tuned so that image quality in terms of spatial resolution and noise is preserved. Simulations with higher number of iterations and long objects (exceeding the measured region) verify that the size of the reconstructible region is not reduced, and that the regularization greatly improves the convergence properties of the iterative scheme. Taking these results into account, and the possibilities to extend the proposed method with more accurate modeling of the acquisition process, the a

139. Advanced linear modeling and interpolation in CT-reconstruction
- Abstract
Although not so often expressed as a modeling problem neither projection nor back-projection can be designed without certain insights in the physics of CT. However, most of this insight is left aside, since it is generally believed that only the most simplified models can be included in the innermost timeconsuming loop in projection and back-projection. We propose that any linear projection procedure should model three functions: The irradiation function, the footprint/basis function, and the gantry rotation function. We demonstrate how a moderately advanced modeling of these three functions can be brought together in an interpolation procedure and yield a surprisingly efficient inner loop interpolation. To this end we i) carefully select a locus of interpolation path through image and projection data spaces and ii) execute multiple convolution as integration by parts implemented by table-look-up.

140. A new anti-aliased projection operator for iterative CT reconstruction
- Abstract
A new projection operator is presented and evaluated. This operator has been designed to suppress aliasing artifacts due to (i) false high frequencies contained in the footprint function, and (ii) high frequencies caused by a divergent beam geometry. It is easy to implement and allows for efficient computer implementations. Instead of sampling the footprint as done in most projection operators, the footprint is integrated. This integration suppresses false high frequencies, frequency components that cause aliasing and approximately takes into account the finite size of focus and detector. Two-dimensional parallel beam experiments are presented. These experiments confirm that artifacts due to false high frequencies can be suppressed by the proposed technique. In order to investigate the advantages for divergent beam geometries, current experiments must be complemented with cone-beam experiments.
