Solution-based processable high-k 2-dimensional (2D) ferroelectrics have attracted significant interest for use in next-generation nanoelectronics. Although few studies on potential 2D ferroelectric nanosheets in local areas have been conducted, reports on the thin-film characteristics applicable to the device are insufficient. In this study, we successfully synthesize high-k 2D Sr1.8Bi0.2Nan-3NbnO3n+1 (octahedral units, n = 3–5) nanosheets by the engineering of the n of NbO6 octahedral layers with A-site modification, and realized ferroelectric characteristics in ultrathin films (below 10 nm). The nanosheets are synthesized by a solution-based cation exchange process and deposited using the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method. As increasing the NbO6 octahedral layer, the thickness of the nanosheets increased and the band gaps are tuned to 3.80 eV (n = 3), 3.76 eV (n = 4), and 3.70 eV (n = 5). In addition, the dielectric permittivity of the 5-layer stacked nanofilm increase to 26 (n = 3), 33 (n = 4), and 62 (n = 5). In particular, the increased perovskite layer exhibits large distortions due to the size mismatch of Sr/Bi/Na ions at the A-site and promotes local ferroelectric instability due to its spontaneous polarization along the c-axis caused by an odd n number. We investigate the stable ferroelectricity in Pt/ 5-layer Sr1.8Bi0.2Na2Nb5O16 / Nb:STO capacitor by polarization-electric field (P-E) hysteresis; the coercive electric field (Ec) was 338 kV cm−1 and the remnant polarization (Pr) 2.36 μC cm−2. Zinc (Zn) coatings, which are widely used to protect metals from corrosion, can be further improved by alloying with nickel (Ni). Increasing the Ni content enhances the corrosion-resistant properties of the Zn coating. This study investigated the effect of tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) concentration on the Ni content and the properties of the Zn-Ni alloy coating. Zn-Ni alloy coatings were electrodeposited via the Hull cell test with TEPA concentrations of 0, 0.035, 0.07, and 0.1 M. We found that increasing the TEPA concentration improved the brightness of the coating at low current density and influenced the crystal orientation and morphology. When the TEPA concentration was increased to 0.7 M, the Ni content of the Zn-Ni alloy coating significantly increased before leveling off. However, the thickness of the coatings decreased with increasing TEPA concentration. The electrochemical behavior of the Zn-Ni alloy electrodeposition was validated via partial polarization curves of the Zn and Ni depositions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose Because vagally mediated reflex bradycardia occurs frequently during gastrectomy and is potentially harmful, we compared the incidence of clinically significant reflex bradycardia between patients undergoing laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) and open gastrectomy (OG) and examined whether the type of surgery (OG vs. LG) was an independent risk factor for clinically significant reflex bradycardia. Methods This prospective observational study evaluated 358 adult patients (age 18-70 years) who were undergoing elective OG or LG for gastric cancer resection. Symptomatic reflex bradycardia was defined as a sudden decrease in heart rate to Results The overall incidence of symptomatic reflex bradycardia was 24.6 % (88/358). Univariate analysis revealed the incidence of symptomatic reflex bradycardia in the LG group was significantly lower than that in the OG group [13.0 % (13/100) vs. 29.1 % (75/258), p = 0.002]. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the type of surgery (OG vs. LG), advanced age, preoperative bradycardia, type of muscle relaxant (vecuronium vs. rocuronium), no use of intravenous remifentanil, and low core temperature, were independent risk factors for symptomatic reflex bradycardia (odds ratio 3.184; 95 % confidence interval 1.490-6.800; p = 0.003).
