The characteristics of an accelerator using the inverse free electron laser process [1,2] are investigated by a 1D FEL simulation code in order to clarify the potential of this type of accelerator. The instability by the finite spectral width of the laser light is also investigated. Further, the energy losses by higher harmonics and by synchrotron radiation are studied.
