The present article is a description of the 2013 European Poetry Marathon from Braşov, from its concept, history, tradition to its very organization and performance this year. Organized by an academic institution, namely the Braşov Faculty of Letters in collaboration with the Braşov City Hall, this European Poetry Marathon has gained in time a remarkable standing and reputation, being one of Romania's most visibile and esteemed poetry events. This year, the concept of the festival involved only women poets - that is, poetry written by contemporary female poets from Europe, disregarding their age and individual orientations. Thus, 34 women poets from 10 European countries have read uninterruptedly for about 12 hours, inaugurating a poetry event with a concept never approached before in the Romanian literary system.
