The metallic parts of an electrical machine greatly impact the transmission of electromagnetic waves between a shaft sensor and an external receiver. A Rotor Temperature Monitoring System (RTMS) aims to enhance power transfer in open space without considering the influence of electrical machine body into account. Therefore, in this paper, an evaluation of the electrical machine bodies effect on shaft sensor transmission and propagation is realized. These effects is related to receiver antenna packaging requirements. A comparative study between two antennas is presented in this article to see which one gives a larger propagation factor using HFSS.

4G is now deployed all over the world, but requirements are about to change rapidly face to the exponential growth on devices number, local service applications and spectrum scarce. To deal with that, 5G networks integrated Device To Device (D2D) communication as a key technology in its evolving architecture. From 3GPP Rel-12 to Rel-16, D2D succeeded to improve network capacity by enhancing spectrum reuse, data rates and reducing end-to-end latency. However, despite all these advantages, it implies new challenges in 5G system design as interference, spectrum and energy consumption. As a contribution, we propose in this paper a joint spectrum and energy efficient resource allocation algorithm for D2D communications. This approach maximizes the total spectrum efficiency and reduces UEs power consumption. Contrarily to most of previous studies on resource allocation problems considering only centralized and pure strategies approaches, we propose a distributed algorithm based on new mathematical game theory model as an interpretation of mixed strategy non cooperative game. We extend our previous research, by focusing on power consumption issue. Our proposed solution enhances joint SE/EE tradeoff by minimizing interferences and power consumption via a smart RB allocation. This new approach allows users to adopt more accurate strategies and maximize their utilities according to the random network behavior.

In this chapter, we have discussed the problem of TH-PPM UWB system performance in different environments. While there is a rich body of literature addressing this problem most of which has emerged recently, this topic is far from being mature. In this context, developing novel analytical methods with relatively low complexity still represents crucial task in meeting the challenges of UWB communications. We first gave an outline of pulse position modulation and time hoping spectrum spreading and then describe the TH-PPM UWB system model. In the rest of this chapter, we have derived an accurate, analytical expression for the bit error rate of TH-PPM UWB systems. Compared with other methods employed in the performance analysis of UWB systems, our analysis provides a powerful tool for calculating BER’s to any desired precision with very low complexity. It was verified by comparisons with simulation results the conformity of this method compared to previous work in this domain and therefore is usable in a UWB communication system. Finally, we extend this method to multi-user, multipath and simultaneously multipath and multi-user environments. The results have confirmed our forecasts and demonstrated the ability to give simple expressions that allows us further to use them in more complexes cases and therefore benefit in computing time. The presented analytical method has been only for scenarios with perfect synchronization. A natural extension will be to use dynamic and more realistic scenarios in order to fully describe the UWB radio channels. In future work, we shall try to study the other channel’s models more close to the reality and other modulation’s schemes to see which one gives us of better performances.
