Abstract

This article is devoted to the search for a generating function for network delay simulation. We justify the choice of the measurement system used to collect delay data with microsecond accuracy. Experimental data are employed in order to form a hypothesis regarding the exponential type of delay. The paper is restricted to the study of the simplest two cases: the linear and quadratic dependence of the delay distribution function. The application of the Pearson criterion led to the conclusion that an exponential distribution can be used to describe network delay, but is valid only for small periods from 10 to 30 minutes. We also justify the expression for the distribution function and generating function for further theoretical and experimental calculations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

T-117 TsAGI is a large hypersonic blowdown arc heater wind tunnel. The facility is provided with two interchangeable electrical arc heaters with a maximum power of 25 and 2.5 megawatts. The first heater is a two arcs heater and fl second one is a one arc heater. The supply air is heated between coaxial electrodes by an electric arc rotated in a magnetic field., See also ADM001433. Abstract

Results of the experimental study of the influence of tangential gas injection on the flow and heat transfer in the region of interaction of the impinging planar shock generated by a sharp wedge and a bow shock wave generated upstream of the cylindrical blunted body are presented. The experimental study was conducted in the TsAGI UT-1 wind tunnel at a free stream Mach number of 6, total pressure Po = 20 bar, stagnation temperature To = 670 K, Reynolds number based on the free stream flow parameters and bluntness radius Re = O.19x10(exp 6). A sharp wedge having theta = 15 degrees was used as a shock generator Gas (air and helium) was injected through a tangential slot located either in the symmetry line of the blunted body or at a distance of (Pj = 33 from the symmetry line. In the second case gas was injected in the direction of the symmetry line. In both cases gas was injected into the region of the shock wave interference. The shock generator location, the slot sizes the mass flow rate and pressure of the injected gas were varied. Results of numerical calculations of an inviscid gas flow are also presented.

Abstract

The current ideas on the mechanism of radiation damage formation upon particle bombardment of semiconductors can be outlined as follows:1) initiation of a collision cascade forming a damaged area enhanced with vacancies V and interstitials I;2) partial V-I recombination and spatial-separation of "survived" V and I;3) formation of stable defects through quasi-chemical reactions involving V, I and impurity atoms.1.2 These conceptions appeared to be extremely helpful since they accounted for the data obtained from numerous experimental studies.

148. Vibronic interaction in multielectronic mixed-valence trimeric clusters

Abstract

The problem of vibronic interaction in multielectronic trimeric clusters of transition metal ions is considered. The dynamic vibronic problems are solved numerically for the d1-d1-d0 and d1-d1-d2 trimers taking into account both the electron transfer (double exchange) and the isotropic (Heisenberg type) exchange interaction. For both types of system (i.e. d1-d1-d0 and d1-d1-d2) the joint action of the electron transfer and vibronic interaction is shown to lead to the (A1 + E) ⊗ e and (A2 + E) ⊗ e pseudo Jahn-Teller problems. For the d1-d1-d2 clusters the more complicated (A1 + A2 + E + E) ⊗ e dynamic problem also appears. The magnetic properties of the above mentioned systems are discussed in detail. Some comments concerning spin models of double exchange are given in connection with the problem of vibronic interaction in mixed-valence clusters. As distinguished from the microscopic quantum-mechanical approach the conventional spin-model is shown to meet difficulties in the solving of the vibronic problem of mixed-valence trimers (and systems of higher nuclearity as well). All the vibronic matrices in the symmetry-adopted bases are given in the Appendix for the d1-d1-d2-, d2-d2-d3-, d3-d3-d2- and d3-d3-d4-mixed-valence trimers. These matrices are necessary for the calculations of the vibronic spectra of systems of such type.
