Aim: The study aims to determine the relationship between pediatric nurses' critical thinking tendencies and individual innovativeness characteristics. Method: The descriptive and correlation-seeking process was applied between April and June 2019. The study population consisted of all nurses working in pediatrics services in the government health research and application center located in Erzurum, Turkey. The sampling consisted of 75 nurses who were available and agreed to participate in the research. In the data collection, the 'Introductory Characteristics Form,' California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory,' and 'Individual Innovativeness Scale' were used. In the data analysis, frequency analysis, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis H-test, and correlation analysis were used. Results: The nurses' overall critical thinking score was 195.68+-20.53, individual innovativeness total score was 62.81+-7.81, and individual innovativeness sub-scale scores were 25.42+-4.01 in the idea leadership sub-scale, 26.09+-4.64 in the resistance to change sub-scale, and 15.46+-2.27 in the risk-taking sub-scale. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) has been widely recognized as a strategic tool and lean manufacturing practice for improving manufacturing performance and sustainability, and therefore it has been successfully implemented in many organizations. The evaluation of TPM efficiency can assist companies in improving their operations across a variety of dimensions. This paper aims to propose a comprehensive and systematic framework for the evaluation of TPM performance. The proposed total productive maintenance performance measurement system (TPM PMS) is divided into four phases (e.g., design, evaluate, implement, and review): i) the design of new performance measures, ii) the evaluation of the new performance measures, iii) the implementation of the new performance measures to evaluate TPM performance, and iv) the reviewing of the TPM PMS. In the design phase, different types of performance measures impacting TPM are defined and analyzed by decision-makers. In the evaluation phase, novel performance measures are evaluated using the Fuzzy COmplex Proportional Assessment (FCOPRAS) method. In the implementation phase, a modified fuzzy data envelopment analysis (FDEA) is used to determine efficient and inefficient TPM performance with novel performance measures. In the review phase, TPM performance is periodically monitored, and the proposed TPM PMS is reviewed for successful implementation of TPM. A real-world case study from an international manufacturing company operating in the automotive industry is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed TPM PMS. The main findings from the real-world case study showed that the proposed TPM PMS allows measuring TPM performance with different indicators especially soft ones, e.g., human-related, and supports decision makers by comparing the TPM performances of production lines and so prioritizing the most important preventive/predictive decisions and actions according to production lines, especially the ineffective ones in TPM program implementation. Therefore, this system can be considered a powerful monitoring tool and reliable evidence to make the implementation process of TPM more efficient in the real-world production environment.

Urban parks are of the most important components of green infrastructure in cities. Number and size of green areas decrease especially due to increase in population and urbanization. Urban parks rank first among green areas that increase and improve the quality of life in cities. Urban parks are places where people can commune with nature and spend their free time for leisure. Accessibility of urban parks, their recreational facilities and space identity are very effective on satisfaction of users. This study is about EYOF Park in Trabzon city. Visual perception analysis carried out using landscape quality criteria. User satisfaction was analyzed with statistical analyses. As a result of analysis, the highest correlations were found between “color” and “texture” (r = 0.790). The most important reasons of park visit was found to be for “relaxing” purposes, moreover “lack of car park” was stated as the most important problem for the park.

Kültürel değerlerimizin tariflenmesinde önemli bir parçayı oluşturan öğelerden biri olan geleneksel mobilyalar, bireysel kimliği belirtmenin yanında, üreten ve kullanan toplumun kültürüne, inancına, toplumsal kimliğine, etnik yapısına dayalı bilgiler de iletebilmektedir. Tüm bu özellikleri ile kültürel birikimi ve etkileşimini temsil eden katmanlardan oluşur. Kullanıcısının ona kattığı anlam ile hafızada yer edinen mobilyalar, sürekliliği sağlanmadığı sürece zamanla kullanıcısı ile ortadan kaybolur. Bu nedenle mobilyaların nesilden nesile aktarılarak sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması önemli bir konudur. Bu aşamada geçmişi anımsatan ve günümüze kadar ulaşamamış değerleri tanıyıp anlayabileceğimiz en etkili seçeneklerden biri fotoğraflardır. Çalışmada Trabzon Beşikdüzü ilçesinde seçilen kişilere ait fotoğraflar üzerine görüşmeler yapılmış ve kişilerin fotoğraflar üzerine kurdurduğu cümleler takip edilmiştir. Bu yolla fotoğraflardaki geleneksel mobilyaların kültürel ve anlamsal açıdan kişilerin hafızalarındaki yeri sorgulanmış ve fotoğrafların kültürel değerleri aktarmadaki yeri irdelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda sözlü kültür ve görsel kültürde geleneksel mobilyaların kültürel yaşantıdaki yerleri ve fotoğrafların bu etkileşimdeki önemi ortaya konmuştur.

With the changing and developing conditions, people's expectations from the places have also been affected and the concept of 'accessibility' has gained more importance. Structures whose user is everyone must meet the needs of users. Universal design concept; It is a holistic approach that allows everyone to use it regardless of users’ personal characteristics. In the study, libraries were discussed because of the diversity in the user base and the many functions in their structure. In the light of the declarations published by The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), data on the accessibility of interior design in libraries were presented and the issue of universal design in the interior design of Karadeniz Technical University Faik Ahmet Barutçu Library was discussed. Thus, it is aimed to draw attention to the importance of universal design principles by offering suggestions to increase the efficiency of use in library buildings.

In this study, the changes in the bioaccessibility of total phenolics, total antioxidant capacity, and individual phenolic compounds resulting from the use of black cumin pomace in marmalades prepared with two different recipes were examined using an in vitro digestion model. UPLC-ESIMS/MS analysis revealed that chlorogenic acid, p-salicylic acid and o-salicylic acid were the main phenolic compounds present in both the black cumin pomace and the marmalades. Processing black cumin pomace into marmalade caused statistically significant reductions in total phenolic content, total antioxidant capacity, and levels of all individual phenolic compounds (P<0.05). While the marmalades prepared with the recipe that included a blanching pre-treatment were found to be superior in sensory evaluation, the marmalades prepared without pre-treatment had higher levels of bioaccessible phenolic compounds. Overall, the findings of this study highlight that utilizing black cumin pomace in marmalade production can contribute to sustainable waste management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the present study, a method is proposed for preparing novel ductile‐sticky materials that can be used as bone void fillers using hydrolyzed wool‐keratin (WK) and silk fibroin (SF). This methodology uses citric acid as a cross‐linking agent in preparing keratin paste (KP) owing to its non‐toxicity and plasticizing properties. The Keratin paste‐silk fibroin structure (KPSF) is obtained by adding SF, which possesses biocompatible and superior mechanical properties. Methanol treatment is employed on the KPSF mixture to convert the Silk I structure in the SF to Silk II, resulting in a water‐insoluble and tightly packed proteinaceous structure. The physicochemical properties of both bioscaffolds are investigated and discussed in detail by comparison. Based on the findings, the presence of SF in the KPSF structure contributed to properties such as flexibility and porosity. In ovo CAM analysis reveals that both materials exhibit proangiogenic properties and are biocompatible. KP and KPSF bioscaffolds can be converted into ductile‐sticky forms by adding water. It believes that these forms can easily apply to bone defect areas, particularly cavitary bone defects. Furthermore, KPSF bioscaffolds, with better mechanical properties, can be considered candidates for use in non‐load‐bearing bone tissue engineering applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A traditional Angelica jam has been produced from stems of Angelica sylvestris L. growing at the foot of Mount Uludag in Bursa for many years. The aim of this study was to develop new functional formulations of Angelica jam by adding carob and cinnamon extracts, and to evaluate the effect of jam processing and the extracts' addition on the sensory attributes, physicochemical and nutritional characteristics of Angelica jams as well as in vitro bioavailability of phenolics. The main physicochemical properties of the jams including total water‐soluble dry matter (Brix value), pH, invert sugar content, total dietary fiber content, and 5‐(hydroxymethyl) furfural (HMF) ranged between 71.80–72.70 °Bx, 3.65–3.91, 39.30%–49.60%, 0.70–0.90 g/100 g, and 91.00–105.50 mg/kg, respectively. The most abundant minerals were potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), phosphorus (P), and iron (Fe) within a concentration range of 80.49–388.67 mg/kg, 111.10–135.00 mg/kg, 24.00–43.28 mg/kg, 7.57–28.06 mg/kg, and 0.52–1.14 mg/kg, respectively. Sensory analysis revealed that general acceptability of Angelica jams in a 9‐point hedonic scale was above 7. The highest antioxidant capacity values of Angelica jam and its functional forms fortified with carob and cinnamon extracts were obtained as 96.68 ± 11.30 mg TE/100 g DM, 248.49 ± 17.78 mg TE/100 g DM, and 193.11 ± 16.06 mg TE/100 g DM, respectively, with the ABTS (2,2′‐azino‐bis‐3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid) method. It was observed that the main phenolic compound of the jams was caffeic acid. Depending on the type of extract added into the formulations, trans‐cinnamic acid and gallic acid (GA) became predominant phenolics. Total antioxidant capacity (TAC) of Angelica sylvestris stem decreased by 72%–85% with the heat treatment applied during jam processing. While total phenolic content (TPC) and total antioxidant capacity (measured by the DPPH (1,1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl) method) increased as a result of intestinal digestion of the jam, it was observed that bioaccessibility of most of the phenolic compounds decreased after intestinal digestion of the jams. Target identification and evaluation is a critical step in the drug discovery process. Although time-intensive and complex, the challenge becomes even more acute in the realm of infectious disease, where the rapid emergence of new viruses, the swift mutation of existing targets, and partial effectiveness of approved antivirals can lead to outbreaks of significant public health concern. The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, serves as a prime example of this, where despite the allocation of substantial resources, Paxlovid is currently the only effective treatment. In that case, significant effort pre-pandemic had been expended to evaluate the biological target for the closely related SARS-CoV. In this work, we utilize the computational hot spot mapping method, FTMove, to rapidly identify and rank binding sites for a set of nine SARS-CoV-2 drug/potential drug targets. FTMove takes into account protein flexibility by mapping binding site hot spots across an ensemble of structures for a given target. To assess the applicability of the FTMove approach to a wide range of drug targets for viral pathogens, we also carry out a comprehensive review of the known SARS-CoV-2 ligandable sites. The approach is able to identify the vast majority of all known sites and a few additional sites, which may in fact be yet to be discovered as ligandable. Furthermore, a UMAP analysis of the FTMove features for each identified binding site is largely able to separate predicted sites with experimentally known binders from those without known binders. These results demonstrate the utility of FTMove to rapidly identify actionable sites across a range of targets for a given indication. As such, the approach is expected to be particularly useful for assessing target binding sites for any emerging pathogen, as well as for indications in other disease areas, and providing actionable starting points for structure-based drug design efforts. The most important basic need in today's cities is water. Population growth in cities, climate change, and decreasing access to water resources make the issue of sustainable city and water relationship more important. In addition to the industry being the sector that consumes the most water, water use is also high in domestic use, agriculture, commercial, and tourism areas. Settlements at risk of water scarcity must take precautions to avoid becoming a waterless settlement in the future. To protect the delicate balance of nature, sustainability in urban areas should be ensured. Environmental pollution should be analyzed and suggestions should be presented for the solution to this pollution. Based on the concepts of sustainable city and urban water cycle, it also mentions how the city and water are and should be in a relationship. It contains concepts that will better express the relations of basic concepts with each other and complement the context. Sustainable use of water also contributes to the protection of natural ecosystems and biodiversity. This paper considers maternal subjectivity and maternal identity development through our work in an urban clinical setting where women present for treatment during the perinatal period. Drawing on a rich tradition of psychoanalytic observational research and mother-infant communication research, which supported the relational turn, we aim to shift the lens from mothers as important to their baby's development, to maternal experiences as essential. Likewise, noting that a mother cannot exist without a baby, real or imagined, we consider the role of a baby in a mother's own development. Tracing roots of maternal subjectivity in psychoanalytic traditions, while also noting its absence, we hope to offer ways to formulate maternal identity that are clinically useful and grounded in research, and reflective of our contemporary positions. Case examples further illustrate the utility of narrative measures, including the Adult Attachment Interview, in clinical settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim:To compare chronic heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction (cHFrEF) who stated to comply with salt restriction in their diets versus those who did not.Methods:Patients without salt restriction were compared to those with salt restriction regarding HF-related hospitalization (HFrH) and all-cause mortality (ACM) before and after propensity score (PS) matching analysis.Results:The study included a total of 723 patients. 136 of them stated not to comply with salt restriction, 587 of them stated to comply with salt restriction. More frequent HFrH were observed in patients without salt restriction compared to those with salt restriction (75% vs. 62.9%, p=0.007), though, ACM was similar in both groups (29.4% vs 27.6%, p=0.672). After PS matching, HFrH during follow-up remained more frequent in those without salt restriction compared to those with salt restriction (73.7% vs 59.3%, p=0.019) but ACM was not different in both groups (30.5% vs 29.7%, p=0.887). Noncompliance to dietary salt restriction was found as one of the independent predictors of HFrH.Conclusion:In cHFrEF outpatients, noncompliance to dietary salt restriction does not seem to increase the risk for ACM but it poses an increased risk for HFrH.

Background: Rehospitalizations with acute coronary syndromes (ACSs) have declined over the last years, but there is a remaining need for potential further reduction of rehospitalization after ACS to determine the most predominant predictors that can guide strategies to reduce re-hospitalizations burden. Aim: This multi-center study aimed to evaluate the demographic, clinical characteristics, and medications of rehospitalized patients who suffered a new cardiac event in 12 months after admission due to ACS. Material and Methods: Patients age >18 years who have been hospitalized between November 1 2017, and April 1 2018, for ACS within12 months before the readmission for a new acute coronary event were enrolled. Results: The present study included a total of 628 (65.9% from Turkey) consecutive patients rehospitalized with ACS (ST-elevation myocardial infarction [STEMI], 23.0%; ACS without ST-elevation [NSTE-ACS], 76.9%) from 15 different countries. The majority of the rehospitalized patients were men (67.9%), and the mean age was 63.1 ± 12.53 years. 406 (64.6%) had typical, 209 (33.2%) of patients had atypical chest pain and 13 (2.07%) had not any chest pain complaint during readmission. 304 (48.41%) of patients were discharged from hospital earlier than 3 days and 107 (17.04%) of patients stayed more than 7 days. The subcategories of first index diagnosis were 227 (36.1%) STEMI; 401 (63.8%) NSTE-ACS. The mean time from index discharge to rehospitalization was 189.25 ± 118 days. 248 (39.4%) patients were re-hospitalized more than once after index discharge. The most common risk factors were diabetes mellitus (471, 75.0%). 175 (27.87%) of patients stopped taking medication before re-hospitalization. Most of the patients (69.4%) had multivessel disease. Conclusion: Several factors identify patients at higher risk of rehospitalization with ACS. Understanding and preventing these causes can prevent rehospitalization and improve their outcome.

Linguistic diversity comes in various forms. The most common ways of developing knowledge of more than one language according to some authors are either by learning a second language through participation in some form of bilingual education or being raised in a bilingual environment, such as school or a bilingual family. The phenomenon of development of literacy competencies of minority groups, specifically, the context of Roma people, in the Republic of North Macedonia, whose mother tongue is not even considered a standard language is the main research purpose of this paper. Research conducted in comparative studies on integrated education shows that in the elementary schools with high numbers of Roma students actions are rarely taken to enhance the integration of these minority students, because of 1) the lack of iconography, which is important for the ethnic identity of this minority and 2) low competence level of parents and teachers who are not adequately trained to work with students coming from different linguistic backgrounds or social backgrounds that are characterized by low literacy levels and low learning competences. Participants in this study were from several primary schools in North Macedonia and the responses were categorized according to the major themes that occurred. The findings show how women are excluded from obtaining better education and that multilingual children from deprived economic settings with poorly educated parents struggle and are seriously challenged to obtain proper literacy and education in elementary schools. The study reveals important details about the educational legislation, treatment of Roma people by local and international organizations and provides suggestions for improvement of the current status of the Roma population.

Nowadays, increasing the needs and desires of people has brought different kinds of activities. Urban open spaces are among the most important areas where these needs are realized. The right design of the open spaces of the city allows for the creation of high quality and more livable cities. Historical structures are among the most important inventories in cities consisting of many living and non-living components. Among these buildings, museums attract many local users and serve as a bridge between past and present. In museums with open spaces, it increases the quality of the space and draws the user preferences towards these places. Users will no longer be able to use these museums once in a while for their needs and desires. Within the scope of this study, which has a history of 4000 years in Trabzon, which is among the most tourist attractions in the history; Atatürk Mansion Museum, Trabzon Museum and Kanuni House Museum were examined. Studies on spatial quality, usually urban, neighborhood, housing, parking and so on. It is scale. Therefore, this study is one of the original characteristics of the study which questions the spatial quality on historical inventories. In this context, the quality of the space parameters were determined by evaluating the literature studies. The results were evaluated with SPSS 23.0 and the quality of the open spaces of the museums were determined according to the user preferences.
