By combining results from a Doppler-free two-photon laser excitation study on several lines in the EF1 [image omitted] - X1 [image omitted] (0,0) band of H2 with results from a Fourier-transform spectroscopic study on a low-pressure discharge in hydrogen, absolute level energies, with respect to the X1 [image omitted], v = 0, N = 0 ground level, were determined for 547 rovibronically excited states in H2. While for some of the levels in the EF1 [image omitted] and B1 [image omitted] states the uncertainties are as low as 0.0001 cm-1, the accuracy of other levels is lower. The general improvement in the accuracy for the comprehensive data set of level energies is by an order of magnitude with respect to previous measurements. An updated listing of transition wavelengths of the spectral lines in the Lyman and Werner bands is presented, based on combination differences between the presently obtained B1 [image omitted] and [image omitted] level energies and those in the X1 [image omitted] ground state. The emission spectrum of neutral diatomic hydrogen has been recorded at Doppler width limited resolution by Fourier transform spectroscopy in the spectral range 1800-22,500 cm-1. Rotational analysis of the triplet systems involving the electronic states c3Πu, [image omitted], [image omitted], and the 3s,d complex has been carried out in order to determine precise rovibronic energies (with v = 0 to 3) of the 3s,d complex. This new observation agrees with the earlier calculations within a few cm-1 and corrects incorrect 'observed' level energies published for v = 2 and 3, [image omitted] by about 50 and 90 cm-1, respectively. The shifting policy focus towards Ecosystem Based Management in Fisheries (EBFM) requires the integration of knowledge and disciplines and the engagement of stakeholders to support decision-making processes. Scientists contribute to this through (i) participatory research projects, (ii) stakeholder partnerships and (iii) institutional scientific advice processes. Understanding the role of scientists in such processes, the nature of the interactions between scientists, stakeholders and managers in knowledge integration and the link between science and policy is an emerging field of research addressing transdisciplinary challenges. In 2018, Ifremer-UMR AMURE organized the workshop ‘Science, Partnership and Decision-support in Fisheries’ bringing together international scientists from natural and social sciences to conduct a review based on twenty concrete case studies. Findings indicate that science-stakeholder-manager partnerships for decision-support in fisheries can play an essential role in the transition to EBFM. To foster this transition, eight recommendations are presented that cover the roles of the different participants, the expectations of partnerships, capacity building, the integration of the social sciences, and funding structures. Further, it is recommended that future research and innovation framework programmes into sustainable fisheries and other ocean uses should explicitly include mechanisms to foster transdisciplinary approaches and the development of best practices. Building-up networks and developing reflexive approaches to review experiences and practices for transdisciplinary approaches in EFBM decision-support will contribute to design the next generation transdisciplinary platforms and generating actionable knowledge towards EBFM.

The present study describes the length-weight relationships ( LWRs) of 28 species captured in Santa Virgínia Bay, in the Pantanal of the Negro River, Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil, over 3 years (1999 to 2001). A letter to the editor is presented in response to the article on panic disorder treatment through fluvoxamine by Thomas A. Mellman, published in the previous issue.

Summary: The process of consent to healthcare decisions in children and adolescents often set physicians difficult problems. From what age is a child able to understand the information given to him or her about illness and treatment? Is an ill child indeed in the capacity to give his or her voluntary consent to treatment? How to define and to assess the capacity of an ill child to take part in treatment decisions? More than the age of the child, it is his or her level of cognitive, emotional and social development and its interactions with illness that will determine his or her degree of involvement in the decision-making process. There is a moral and ethical need to respect the rights and autonomy of every individual, regardless of age. This does not mean viewing children and adolescents as rational and autonomous decision-makers. This implies that we must promote their developmentally appropriate participation in shared decision-making with parents and physicians. Therefore, instead of asking, “should children and adolescents be granted absolute autonomy in decision making?” we ought to ask, “should we treat children and adolescents like people?” [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
