The aging of microplastics (MPs) is extremely influenced by photochemically-produced reactive intermediates (PPRIs), which are mediated by natural photosensitive substances. Algal extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) can produce PPRIs when exposed to sunlight. Nonetheless, the specific role of EPS in the aging process of MPs remains unclear. This work systematically explored the aging process of polystyrene (PS) MPs in the EPS secreted by Chlorella vulgaris under simulated sunlight irradiation. The results revealed that the existence of EPS accelerated the degradation of PS MPs into particles with sizes less than 1 µm, while also facilitating the formation of hydroxy groups on the surface. The release rate of dissolved organic matter (DOM) from PS MPs was elevated from 0.120 mg·L-1·day-1 to 0.577 mg·L-1·day-1. The primary factor contributing to the elevated levels of DOM was humic acid-like compounds generated through the breakdown of PS. EPS accelerated the aging process of PS MPs by primarily mediating the formation of triplet excited states (3EPS*), singlet oxygen (1O 2), and superoxide radicals (O 2 ∙-), resulting in indirect degradation. 3EPS* was found to have the most substantial impact. Nowadays, various algorithms are widely used in the field of economy and trade, and economic and trade management laws also need to introduce scientific and effective data models for optimization. In this paper, support vector machine algorithm and logistic regression algorithm are used to analyze and process the actual economic and trade case data and bank loan user data, and a hybrid model of support vector machine and logistic regression is established. This study first introduces the basic definitions and contents of the support vector machine algorithm and logistic regression algorithm, and then constructs a hybrid model by randomly dividing the data, first using the support vector machine algorithm to calculate the results, and then inputting them into the logistic regression algorithm. The first mock exam is that the efficiency of the hybrid model is much higher than that of the single model. This study mainly optimizes and upgrades the legal system of economic and trade management from two aspects. In the prediction of economic and trade legal cases, the hybrid model is significantly better than FastText and LSTM models in accuracy and macro recall performance. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most prevalent neurodegenerative disease in the world. However, there is no effective drug to cure it. Caesalmin C is a cassane-type diterpenoid abundant in Caesalpinia bonduc (Linn.) Roxb. In this study, we investigated the effect of caesalmin C on Aβ-induced toxicity and possible mechanisms in the transgenic Caenorhabditis elegans AD model. Our results showed that caesalmin C significantly alleviated the Aβ-induced paralysis phenotype in transgenic CL4176 strain C. elegans. Caesalmin C dramatically reduced the content of Aβ monomers, oligomers, and deposited spots in AD C. elegans. In addition, mRNA levels of sod-3, gst-4, and rpt-3 were up-regulated, and mRNA levels of ace-1 were down-regulated in nematodes treated with caesalmin C. The results of the RNAi assay showed that the inhibitory effect of caesalmin C on the nematode paralysis phenotype required the DAF-16 signaling pathway, but not SKN-1 and HSF-1. Further evidence suggested that caesalmin C may also have the effect of inhibiting acetylcholinesterase (AchE) and upregulating proteasome activity. These findings suggest that caesalmin C delays the progression of AD in C. elegans via the DAF-16 signaling pathway and that it could be developed into a promising medication to treat AD. Background: The development of heart ageing is the main cause of chronic disability, disease and death in the elderly. Ample evidence has established a pivotal role for significantly reduced mitophagy in the ageing heart. However, the underlying mechanisms of mitophagy deficiency in ageing heart are little known. The present study aimed to explore the underlying mechanisms of lncRNA LOC105378097 (Senescence‐Mitophagy Associated LncRNA, lncR‐SMAL) actions on mitophagy in the setting of heart ageing. Methods: The expression of lncR‐SMAL was measured in serum from different ages of human and heart from different ages of mice through a quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction. The effects of lncR‐SMAL on heart function of mice were assessed by echocardiography and pressure‐volume measurements system. Cardiac senescence was evaluated by hematoxylin‐eosin staining, senescence‐associated β‐galactosidase staining, flow cytometry and western blot analysis of expression of ageing related markes p53 and p21. Cardiomyocyte mitophagy was assessed by western blot, mRFP‐GFP‐LC3 adenovirus particles transfection and mito‐Keima staining. Interaction between lncR‐SMAL and Parkin was validated through molecular docking, RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and RNA pull‐down assay. Ubiquitination assay was performed to explore the molecular mechanism of Parkin inhibition. The effects of lncR‐SMAL on mitochondrial function were investigated through electron microscopic examination, JC‐1 staining and oxygen consumption rates analysis. Results: The heart‐enriched lncR‐SMAL reached the expression crest in the serum of human at an age of 60. Exogenously overexpression of lncRNA SMAL deteriorated cardiac function exactly as natural ageing and inhibited the associated cardiomyocytes mitophagy by depressing Parkin protein level. Improved heart ageing and mitophagy caused by Parkin overexpression were reversed by lncR‐SMAL in mice. In contrast, the loss of lncR‐SMAL in AC16 cells induced the upregulation of Parkin protein and ameliorated mitophagy and mitochondrial dysfunction, resulting in alleviated cardiac senescence. Besides, we found the interaction between lncR‐SMAL and Parkin protein through computational docking analysis, pull‐down and RIP assay. This would contribute to the promotive effect of lncR‐SMAL on Parkin ubiquitination and decrease Parkin protein stability. Conclusions: The present study for the first time demonstrates a heart‐enriched lncRNA, SMAL, that inhibits the mitophagy of cardiomyocytes via the downregulation of Parkin protein, which further contributes to heart ageing and cardiac dysfunction in natural ageing mice. T cell inhibitory receptors can regulate the proliferation or function of T cells by binding to their ligands and present a unique opportunity to manage destructive immune responses during porcine islet xenotransplantation. We applied ex vivo porcine islet xenotransplantation and in vitro mixed lymphocyte‐islet reaction models to assess immune checkpoint receptor expression profiles in recipient T cells, investigated whether CTLA4 or VISTA immunoglobulin (Ig) combination therapy alone could suppress porcine islet xenograft rejection and further analyzed its potential immune tolerance mechanism. Recipient T cells expressed moderate to high levels of CTLA4, PD‐1, TIGIT and VISTA, and the frequency of CTLA4+CD4+, TIGIT+CD4+, VISTA+CD4+ and VISTA+CD8+ T cells was positively correlated with porcine islet xenograft survival time in xenotransplant recipients. Combined treatment with CTLA4Ig and VISTAIg selectively inhibited recipient CD4+ T cell hyper‐responsiveness and proinflammatory cytokine production and significantly delayed xenograft rejection. SOCS1 deficiency in CD4+ T cells stimulated by xenogeneic islets facilitated hyper‐responsiveness and abolished the suppressive effect of combination therapy on recipient T cell‐mediated porcine islet damage in vivo and in vitro. Further mechanistic studies revealed that combined treatment significantly induced SOCS1 expression and inhibited the Jak‐STAT signalling pathway in wild‐type recipient CD4+ T cells stimulated by xenogeneic islets, whereas SOCS1 deficiency resulted in Jak‐STAT signalling pathway activation in recipient CD4+ T cells. We demonstrated a major role for CTLA4 and VISTA as key targets in CD4+ T cell hyper‐responsiveness and porcine islet xenograft rejection. Developing high-performance noble-metal-free electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is of great significance for the large-scale implement of electrochemical water splitting. Here, we demonstrate that cobalt-iron oxyhydroxide (CoFe 0.8 (OH) x) with appropriate crystallization exhibits excellent OER activity with a low overpotential of only 246 mV, which is much lower than that achieved on amorphous one. Kinetic experiments indicate that the OER active sites should be di-μ-oxo bridged Fe–Co, on which lower energy barrier is attained than that on Fe–O and Co–O sites. Partial crystallization is beneficial to the lattice contraction, the formation of Co–O–Fe sites, and the decrease of charge transfer resistance, thus accelerating OER process. Compared with amorphous Co-Fe oxyhydroxides, partially crystallized ones show higher OER activity due to faster charge transfer and lower reaction barrier. Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) is a key regulatory kinase in the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, which is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and angiogenesis. Class IA PI3K isoforms γ and δ share a highly homologous ATP binding site and are distinguished by only a few residues around the binding site. Subtype-selective inhibitors have been proven to have great advantages in tumor treatment. Preliminary studies have obtained PI3K inhibitors bearing a benzimidazole structural motif with a certain selectivity for PI3Kδ and PI3Kγ subtypes. On this basis, we investigated the selective inhibitory mechanism of PI3Kδ and PI3Kγ using four developed inhibitors via molecular docking, molecular dynamics, binding free energy calculations, and residue energy decomposition. Background: The aim of the present study is to investigate the clinical value and characteristics of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) using flow cytometry. Methods: The absolute counts of T, CD4+T, CD8+T, natural killer (NK), NKT and B lymphocytes in 217 cases of PTB were detected, and the variations in lymphocyte subset counts between different ages and genders and between aetiological detection results and chest radiography results were analysed. Results: In 75.3% of the patients with PTB, six subset counts were lower than the normal reference range, and 44% showed lower‐than‐normal CD4+T lymphocyte levels. The counts of T, CD4+T, CD8+T and B lymphocytes were significantly lower in patients aged >60 years, and the NKT cell counts were significantly lower in female patients than in male patients. Among the patients with positive aetiological results, 40.8% had reduced CD8+T counts; these were significantly lower than those in patients with negative aetiological results (P = 0.0295). The cell counts of T, CD4+T, CD8+T and B lymphocytes reduced as lesion lobe numbers increased. The counts of T, CD4+T and CD8+T lymphocytes were significantly higher in the group with lesions affecting one lobe than in the groups with two to three lobes or four to five lobes, and the counts of B lymphocytes were significantly higher in the group with one lobe and the group with two to three lobes than in the group with four to five lobes. The counts of CD4+T and CD8+T lymphocytes were highest in the no cavity group and showed a downward trend with the increase in cavities; the T lymphocyte count was significantly higher in the no cavity group than in the group with five or more cavities (P = 0.014), and the CD8+T lymphocyte count was significantly higher in the no cavity group than in the group with one to two cavities and the group with five or more cavities (P = 0.001 and 0.01, respectively). Conclusions: In most patients with tuberculosis, immune function is impaired. The absolute counts of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets are closely related to the aetiological results and lesion severity in patients with PTB; this could be used as evidence for immune intervention and monitoring curative effects. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most heterogeneous malignancies worldwide with a dismal prognosis. Lack of efficient biomarkers, early detection, and prognosis is still a challenge for HCC. Pyroptosis is a new discovery inflammatory form of programmed cell death. There is growing evidence revealed that pyroptosis plays a role in physiological and pathological conditions of human cancers. However, the prognostic evaluation of these pyroptosis-related genes (PRGs) in HCC remains blank. Consensus clustering of PRGs was used to classify 374 patients with HCC from the TCGA-LIHC cohort. By applying the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression method, a 2-gene prognostic gene model (PLCG1 and GSDMC) was built and indicated the survival rate in HCC with medium-to-high accuracy. Then, the median risk score from the TCGA cohort was utilized; the prognostic gene model was also accurate in Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) cohort. The functional enrichment analysis indicated that the oncogenic properties are associated with prominent hallmarks of cancer. The ssGSEA analyses and TIMER database indicated that immune infiltration tumor microenvironment in the HCC. The foodborne pathogen Staphylococcus aureus continues to challenge the food industry due to the pathogenicity and tolerance of the bacterium. As a common storage condition for frozen food during transportation, distribution, and storage, freezing does not seem to be entirely safe due to the cold tolerance of S. aureus. In addition, our study indicated that the biofilm formation ability of S. aureus was significantly increased in response to freezing stress. To explore the molecular mechanism regulating the response to freezing stress, the proteomics signature of S. aureus after freezing stress based on tandem mass tag (TMT) labeling and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) was analyzed. Gene Ontology and pathway analysis revealed that ribosome function, metabolism, RNA repair, and stress response proteins were differentially regulated (P < 0.05). Furthermore, transpeptidase sortase A, biofilm operon icaADBC HTH-type negative transcriptional regulator IcaR, and HTH-type transcriptional regulator MgrA were involved in the modulation of increased biofilm formation in response to freezing stress (P < 0.05). Moreover, significant lysine acetylation and malonylation signals in the S. aureus response to freezing stress were observed. Collectively, the current work provides additional insight for comprehending the molecular mechanism of S. aureus in response to freezing stress and presents potential targets for developing strategies to control S. aureus. Background: Organ-specific metastatic context has not been incorporated into the clinical practice of guiding programmed death-(ligand) 1 [PD-(L)1] blockade, due to a lack of understanding of its predictive versus prognostic value. We aim at delineating and then incorporating both the predictive and prognostic effects of the metastatic-organ landscape to dissect PD-(L)1 blockade efficacy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods: A total of 2062 NSCLC patients from a double-arm randomized trial (OAK), two immunotherapy trials (FIR, BIRCH), and a real-world cohort (NFyy) were included. The metastatic organs were stratified into two categories based on their treatment-dependent predictive significance versus treatment-independent prognosis. A metastasis-based scoring system (METscore) was developed and validated for guiding PD-(L)1 blockade in clinical trials and real-world practice.Results: Patients harboring various organ-specific metastases presented significantly different responses to immunotherapy, and those with brain and adrenal gland metastases survived longer than others [overall survival (OS), p = 0.0105; progression-free survival (PFS), p = 0.0167]. In contrast, survival outcomes were similar in chemotherapy-treated patients regardless of metastatic sites (OS, p = 0.3742; PFS, p = 0.8242). Intriguingly, the immunotherapeutic predictive significance of the metastatic-organ landscape was specifically presented in PD-L1-positive populations (PD-L1 > 1%). Among them, a paradoxical coexistence of a favorable predictive effect coupled with an unfavorable prognostic effect was observed in metastases to adrenal glands, brain, and liver (category I organs), whereas metastases to bone, pleura, pleural effusion, and mediastinum yielded consistent unfavorable predictive and prognostic effects (category II organs). METscore was capable of integrating both predictive and prognostic effects of the entire landscape and dissected OS outcome of NSCLC patients received PD-(L)1 blockade (p < 0.0001) but not chemotherapy (p = 0.0805) in the OAK training cohort. Meanwhile, general performance of METscore was first validated in FIR (p = 0.0350) and BIRCH (p < 0.0001), and then in the real-world NFyy cohort (p = 0.0181). Notably, METscore was also applicable to patients received PD-(L)1 blockade as first-line treatment both in the clinical trials (OS, p = 0.0087; PFS, p = 0.0290) and in the real-world practice (OS, p = 0.0182; PFS, p = 0.0045).Conclusions: Organ-specific metastatic landscape served as a potential predictor of immunotherapy, and METscore might enable noninvasive forecast of PD-(L)1 blockade efficacy using baseline radiologic assessments in advanced NSCLC. Copper based ternary and quaternary quantum confined nanostructures have attracted huge attention over recent years due to their potential applications in photonics, photovoltaics, imaging, sensing and other areas. However, anisotropic nanoheterostructures of this type are still poorly explored to date, despite numerous predictions of the distinctive optical properties of these highly fluorescent heavy metal free nanostructures. Here, we report new fluorescent multicomponent Cu–In–(Zn)–S/ZnS nanoheterostructures with a unique anisotropic "ice-cream cone" like morphology. These nanostructures have been prepared with a seeded growth technique and exhibit distinct photophysical properties with maximum emission in the visible range (≈ 640 nm) and long photoluminescence lifetimes (τaverage ≥ 300 ns). In depth time interval studies have been carried out to better understand the step by step growth mechanism of this distinct "ice-cream cone" like geometry. We have demonstrated that the crystal structure evolution from the zinc blende Cu–In–S core to the wurtzite "ice cream cone" like Cu–In–(Zn)–S/ZnS nanocrystals plays a key role in the origin of this morphology. This research opens new possibilities to produce unique fluorescent Cu-based multicomponent anisotropic heteronanostructures, while also offering a distinctive insight into the design of bespoke nanostructures, which could find a range of potential applications. The uncertainties of spot size and position need to be clarified for x-ray sources as they can affect the detecting precision of the x-ray probe beam in applications such as radiography. In particular, for laser-driven x-ray sources, they would be more significant as they influence the inevitable fluctuation of the driving laser pulses. Here, we have employed the penumberal coded aperture imaging technique to diagnose the two-dimensional spatial distribution of an x-ray emission source spot generated from a Cu solid target irradiated by an intense laser pulse. Taking advantage of the high detection efficiency and high spatial resolution of this technique, the x-ray source spot is characterized with a relative error of ∼ 5 % in the full width at half maximum of the intensity profile in a single-shot mode for general laser parameters, which makes it possible to reveal the information of the unfixed spot size and position precisely. Our results show the necessity and feasibility of monitoring the spot of these novel laser-driven x-ray sources via the penumbral coded aperture imaging technique. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Since the installed capacity of wind power is greatly affected by the subsidy policy, this paper predicts the installed wind power capacity in China under different policy scenarios. Firstly, a new two-parameter variable-weight buffer operator is proposed to quantify the impact of the policy shock, whose optimal parameters are obtained by the genetic algorithm, and combined with the grey GM(1,1) model to predict the installed capacity of wind power in China under the cessation of subsidy policy. Then, the GM(1,1) model with optimized background value is used to predict the installed capacity under continued subsidy. Finally, two policy subsidy strategy models are constructed based on the forecast data to simulate the future trend of wind power installed capacity under different subsidy policies and explore the strength of wind power subsidies in China during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period (2021–2025). The results show that both the GM(1,1) model based on the two-parameter variable-weight buffer operator and the GM(1,1) model with optimized background value have high fitting accuracy, with errors of 0.15% and 4.93%, respectively. Furthermore, in the case of the central government's subsidy cancellation, the local government should take over the central government's subsidy policy and adjust the subsidy intensity to 0.57–1 times of that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period (2015–2020) to achieve the national planning target. A major uncertainty in understanding the transport and feedback of cosmic rays (CRs) within and beyond our Galaxy lies in the unknown CR scattering rates, which are primarily determined by waveâ€"particle interaction at microscopic gyroresonant scales. The source of the waves for the bulk CR population is believed to be self-driven by the CR streaming instability (CRSI), resulting from the streaming of CRs downward a CR pressure gradient. While a balance between driving by the CRSI and wave damping is expected to determine wave amplitudes and hence the CR scattering rates, the problem involves significant scale separation with substantial ambiguities based on quasi-linear theory (QLT). Here we propose a novel “streaming box” framework to study the CRSI with an imposed CR pressure gradient, enabling first-principles measurement of the CR scattering rates as a function of environmental parameters. By employing the magnetohydrodynamic particle-in-cell method with ionâ€"neutral damping, we conduct a series of simulations with different resolutions and CR pressure gradients and precisely measure the resulting CR scattering rates in steady state. The measured rates show scalings consistent with QLT, but with a normalization smaller by a factor of several than typical estimates based on the single-fluid treatment of CRs. A momentum-by-momentum treatment provides better estimates when integrated over momentum but is also subject to substantial deviations, especially at small momentum. Our framework thus opens up the path toward providing comprehensive subgrid physics for macroscopic studies of CR transport and feedback in broad astrophysical contexts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Soil degradation and a global focus on carbon (C) sequestration in soils have resulted in growing societal interest in soil health practices. Biochar has a high C content, porosity, pH, and cation exchange capacity that benefit soil properties. Here we described an incubation study that aims to evaluate the influences of biochar additions on representative forest organic, forest mineral, blueberry, potato, and mixed vegetable soils from Maine, USA. The experiment consisted of amendments of either a lime stabilized industrial byproduct softwood pulp biochar (SPB) or pine wood biochar (PB) at application rates equivalent to 0, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 t ha−1. Here we report influences of biochar addition on soil pH, loss-on-ignition (LOI), water-holding capacity (WHC), and exchangeable cations. In general, both SPB and PB increased the value of these soil properties in all mineral soils, with significant increases often being found at a rate of 100 t ha−1. Forest organic soils, however, were more variable attributable to the high organic C concentration of this substrate. Soil response to SPB amendments was strongly influenced by the lime component, although few significant differences were found between SPB and PB amended soils. Analysis of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from SPB amendments due to lime dissolution and acid neutralization represented less than 3% of the total carbon added in SPB treated soils, leaving SPB and PB both important potential soil amendments. Purpose. To analyze tear function outcomes following collagen cross-linking (CXL) treatment in ectatic corneas. Methods. Fifty-seven eyes of 34 patients were included, and patients with keratoconus who underwent epithelium-on (epi-on) or epithelium-off (epi-off) CXL were evaluated. The following tests were performed preoperatively and at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively: best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), maximum keratometry value (Kmax), ocular surface disease index (OSDI) questionnaire, slit-lamp examination, tear meniscus height, first noninvasive Keratograph breakup time (1st NIKBUT), average NIKBUT, and bulbar redness. Results. BCVA improved in both epi-on and epi-off groups at most follow-up points, but was not significantly different between groups. At 12-month follow-up, Kmax in the epi-on and epi-off groups improved after CXL, but there was no significant difference between the groups. The OSDI in both groups decreased after operation compared with before surgery, and there was no significant difference between the two groups. Comparing the two groups, only the change in the tear meniscus height at 6 months postoperatively was statistically significant, and the pre- and postoperative values of the two groups were within the normal range (>0.20 mm). The change was small and had no clinical significance. There was no change in the 1st NIKBUT and average NIKBUT between the epi-on and epi-off groups. A change in bulbar redness was significantly better in the epi-off group than in the epi-on group at 3 months postoperatively. Comparing the effects at 1 year postoperatively, both groups had positive results in OSDI, NIKBUT, tear meniscus height, and bulbar redness. Conclusion. Both epi-on and epi-off CXL can control the progression of keratoconus, although epi-off CXL is more effective. This article proposes a new type of antenna capable of harvesting radio frequency, vibration and light energy based on piezoelectric and solar film materials. The antenna is designed by using solar film and Polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) piezoelectric film as the medium. Due to the high dielectric constant of the antenna medium, the size of the energy harvesting antenna can be effectively reduced. A stacked circle patch was designed for the microstrip antenna, and the antenna size is 53 mm × 60 mm × 0.6 mm. In order to improve the conversion efficiency, the rectifier circuit is optimized, and the modal analysis of PVDF is carried out. Test results show that the bandwidth of the antenna is 2–3 GHz. When the antenna is 50 cm away from the signal emission source with 3 dBm at 2.4 GHz, the output voltage is 2.02 V; under 75 Hz vibration excitation, the output voltage and power can reach 1.5 V and 1.13 mW; when the light intensity is 100 mW/cm2, the output voltage is 1.42 V, the output voltage can reach 1.3 V. Quantitative in situ elemental analyses of the impure deposited layer on the plasma-facing components (PFCs) of magnetically confined fusion devices such as EAST are crucial and challenging. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is one of the most promising methods. In this study, we present an improved quantitative analytic algorithm for the deposited layers (in vacuum) of both major and minor elements via one-point calibration laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (OPC-LIBS). OPC-LIBS is a variation of the calibration-free LIBS approach involving one matrix-matched standard sample with a known composition that effectively corrects the errors, caused by the uncertainty of Einstein's coefficient and inaccurate efficiency of the spectrum acquisition system of the CF-LIBS method. We found that the OPC-LIBS method is more accurate for the determination of composition of a series of Al–W–Mo coatings (EAST-like deposits) compared to the conventional CF-LIBS approach at 10−5 mbar to simulate the pressure condition of a fusion vessel. In the case of OPC-LIBS measurement, the relative error of major elements such as Al (85.65–95.51 at%) was below 2%, and the relative error of trace elements W (2.32–9.56 at%) was within 35% and Mo (2.17–11.66 at%) was within 20%. This paper investigates the nonlinear dynamical behaviors of a time-delayed supercavitating vehicle system varying with the system parameters, and proposes control strategies to stabilize the trajectory. A simplified dynamical model of the supercavitating vehicle is firstly constructed and then analyzed on its local and global stability in terms of different parameter values and initial conditions. Due to the forces resulting from the fins and the afterbody plane causing one of the system parameters to become a piecewise constant function of position, the system is described as a linear switched one with time delay. Both theoretical analysis and numerical simulations are adopted to describe the system behaviors. Several special phenomena such as bifurcations, deviation behaviors and period-doubling processes emerging from the system for a given set of parameters are discussed in detail in this paper. Besides, the equilibrium and chaotic solutions are accurately located by plotting the Lyapunov exponent map. Chaotic attractors present different strange forms with the variation of the parameters. Finally, based on the system's global property, the control and anti-control strategies are proposed to stabilize the system or generate desirable chaos and it is shown that the system can be controlled by selecting appropriate control parameters. To deal with energy and environmental issues, it is necessary to exploit efficient and stable electrocatalysts for the generation of clean hydrogen. Herein, we describe the synthesis of bimetallic Fe/Ni alloy encapsulated by amorphous carbon shells via a facile annealing strategy for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The ferric nickel tartrate annealed at 800 °C (Ni 3 Fe 1 O x @C-800) exhibits a low OER overpotential of 264 mV at 10 mA cm−2 and good stability in alkaline media. Compared with monometallic counterpart, bimetallic Ni 3 Fe-based nanocomposites show lower OER barrier (ca. 324 kJ mol−1) due to a cooperation mechanism between Ni and Fe sites in promoting electrocatalytic water oxidation. Compared with those annealed at other temperatures, the enhanced OER performance of Ni 3 Fe 1 O x @C-800 can be ascribed to the large electrochemical surface area for exposing more active sites, smaller charge transfer, and better intrinsic activity of Ni 3 Fe-based sites. Background. Traditional Chinese medicine has been widely used, in conjunction with conventional Western medicine, in clinical practice around the world to treat breast cancer. The study systematically reviewed and summarized the quality of life of breast cancer patients treated with integrated treatment method vs. conventional Western medicine. Methods. Eight databases including PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biology Medicine Disc, Chinese Scientific Journal Database, and Wanfang Data knowledge service platform were searched in this study. The retrieval period was set from January 1, 2005, to December 31, 2020. Results. Twenty-two high-quality publications were included in this study. The total sample size was 1689 patients including 844 in the intervention group receiving traditional Chinese medicine combined with conventional Western medicine and 845 patients in the control group receiving conventional Western medicine only. Compared with the single-used conventional Western medicine treatment, an integrated approach to treat breast cancer can increase quality of life measured by rating scales (SMD = 1.29, 95% CI (1.07, 1.52) and P = 0.01) and ranking scales (RR = 1.53, 95% CI (1.39 1.68) and P = 0.02) and also decrease adverse reactions measured by rating scales (Z = 10.89, P < 0.05 ; Group 1: I2 = 9.0%, P = 0.258 , SMD = 1.03; and Group 2: I2 = 31.6%, P = 0.199 , SMD = 1.56). For further analysis, chemotherapy with epirubicin exhibited higher quality of life than the chemotherapy without epirubicin among breast cancer patients [Z = 19.80, P < 0.05 ; Group 1: I2 = 62.4%, P = 0.070 , SMD = 1.61; and Group 2: I2 = 9.0%, P = 0.359 , SMD = 1.04]. Despite the heterogeneity, which was due to a portion of relative low-quality literature or other factors, the results were satisfactory. In terms of secondary results, the patients with lower tumor markers (CEA and CA153) had better efficiency in quality of life with a statistically significant difference (SMD = 1.39, 95% CI: 1.10,1.67) for rating scales. In addition, secondary results related to high incidence of gastrointestinal adverse reactions (RR = 1.33, 95% CI (1.20, 1.48)) and the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome (RR = 1.50, 95% CI (1.28, 1.80))showed lower quality of life in the intervention group than the control group for ranking scales. Conclusion. Traditional Chinese medicine, when used in conjunction with the conventional Western medicine, could be an effective way in improving the quality of life and alleviating incidence of associated adverse symptoms such as gastrointestinal adverse reactions, value of tumor markers, and the incidence of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome. FLOWERING LOCUS T (FT) promotes flowering by integrating six genetic pathways. In Arabidopsis , the FT protein is transported from leaves to shoot apices and induces flowering. However, contradictory conclusions about floral induction via graft-transmitted FT in trees were reported in previous studies. We obtained extremely early-flowering transgenic woody Jatropha curcas L. by overexpression of J. curcas FT using Arabidopsis thaliana SUCROSE TRANSPORTER 2 (SUC2) promoter (SUC2 : JcFT) and non-flowering transgenic J. curcas by RNA interference (RNAi), which were used to investigate the function of graft-transmitted JcFT in floral induction in woody perennials. Scions from five wild-type species of the Jatropha genus and from JcFT- RNAi transgenic J. curcas were grafted onto SUC2 : JcFT rootstocks. Most grafted plants produced flowers in 1–2 months, and the flowering percentage and frequency of various grafted plants decreased with increasing scion length. Consistently, FT protein abundance in scions also decreased with increasing distance from graft junctions to the buds. These findings suggest that FT proteins can be transmitted by grafting and can induce the floral transition in woody perennials, and the efficiency of graft-transmitted JcFT for floral induction depends on the scion length, which may help explain previous seemingly contradictory observations regarding floral induction via graft-transmitted FT in trees. Planetesimal formation is a crucial yet poorly understood process in planet formation. It is widely believed that planetesimal formation is the outcome of dust clumping by the streaming instability (SI). However, recent analytical and numerical studies have shown that the SI can be damped or suppressed by external turbulence, and at least the outer regions of protoplanetary disks are likely weakly turbulent due to magneto-rotational instability (MRI). We conduct high-resolution local shearing-box simulations of hybrid particle-gas magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), incorporating ambipolar diffusion as the dominant nonideal MHD effect, applicable to outer disk regions. We first show that dust backreaction enhances dust settling toward the midplane by reducing turbulence correlation time. Under modest level of MRI turbulence, we find that dust clumping is in fact easier than the conventional SI case, in the sense that the threshold of solid abundance for clumping is lower. The key to dust clumping includes dust backreaction and the presence of local pressure maxima, which in our work is formed by the MRI zonal flows overcoming background pressure gradient. Information regarding protein expression and phosphorylation modifications in the bovine milk fat globule membrane is scarce, particularly throughout various lactation periods. This study employed a complete proteome and phosphoproteome between bovine colostrum and mature milk. A total of 11 proteins were seen in both protein expression and phosphorylation levels. There were 400 proteins identified in only protein expression, and 104 phosphoproteins identified in only phosphorylation levels. A total of 232 significant protein characteristics were identified within the proteome and significant phosphorylation sites within 86 phosphoproteins of the phosphoproteome. Biological activities and pathways primarily exhibited associations with the immune system. Simultaneously, a comprehensive analysis of proteins and phosphorylation sites using a multi-omics approach. In this study, a cost-effective method was developed for preparing an acid-resistant and efficient defluorination material. Carbon nitride (C 3 N 4) was chosen for its exceptional acid resistance and was modified via template-free doping with different zirconium source. Characterization results through XRD, FTIR, BET, XPS, SEM, and TEM confirm the successful synthesis of CN-Zr using zirconium chloride (ZrCl 4) with a specific surface area of 87.77 m2/g. Furthermore, the adsorption results indicate outstanding fluoride adsorption performance of CN-Zr in hydrochloric acid, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 145.34 mg/g and minimal zirconium leaching. Moreover, the adsorption mechanism was systematically studied using Zeta potential, FTIR and XPS characterization. The findings indicate that Zr was integrated with C 3 N 4 uniformly by forming a deep eutectic system (DES), utilizing exposed terminal amino groups for effective hydrogen bonding with HF which predominates as the primary fluorine existence in hydrochloric acid. Meanwhile, the enhanced ion exchange, complexation of Zr-F and strong electrostatic attraction all contribute to improving adsorption. Finally, the assessment of recyclability performance and operation cost demonstrate that the material can maintain 80% of its initial adsorption capacity after five cycles. Zhilong Huoxue Tongyu Capsule (ZL) is clinically prescribed for acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, only a few studies have addressed the mechanisms of ZL in treating AIS. To explore the underlying mechanism of macrophage polarization and inflammation mediated by ZL, and to provide a reference for AIS treatment. Sixteen SD rats were fed with different dose of ZL (0, 0.4, 0.8, and 1.6 g/kg/d) for 4 days to prepare ZL serum. After 500 ng/mL lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation, RAW264.7 cells were administrated with ZL serum. Then, experiments including ELISA, flow cytometry, real-time quantitative PCR and Western blot were performed to verify the effects of ZL on macrophage polarization and inflammation. Next, let-7i inhibitor was transfected in RAW264.7 cells when treated with LPS and ZL serum to verify the regulation of ZL on the let-7i/TLR9/MyD88 signaling pathway. Moreover, the interaction between let-7i and TLR9 was confirmed by the dual-luciferase assay. ZL serum significantly decreased the expression of interleukin (IL)-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and increased the expression of IL-10 and transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) of LPS stimulated-macrophages. Furthermore, ZL serum polarized macrophages toward M2, decreased the expressions of TLR9, MyD88, and iNOS, as well as increased the expressions of let-7i, CHIL3, and Arginase-1. It is worth mentioning that the effect of ZL serum is dose-dependent. However, let-7i inhibitor restored all the above effects in LPS stimulated-macrophages. In addition, TLR9 was the target of let-7i. Alloying the platinum with the nickel and cobalt is an efficient approach to lessen the usage of Pt without compromising the catalytic performance. Few studies have focused on coupling the Pt with the NiCo/oxide composite for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, we synthesize three types of hierarchical Pt 15 -NiCo/oxide composites by impregnation, followed by calcination and hydrogenation treatment. The three electrocatalysts have similar intrinsic activity towards HER in 1.0 M KOH, while the Pt 15 -NiCo/CeO 2−x displays the highest catalytic performance because of its large electrochemically active surface area, showing an extremely small overpotential of 12 mV at 100 mA cm−2, making it the best low-Pt-content electrocatalyst for HER. When used as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for urea-assisted hydrogen production, the Pt 15 -NiCo/CeO 2−x demonstrates excellent catalytic performance with a very small cell voltage of 1.36 V to reach 10 mA cm−2 and robust long-term working stability. Postoperative fatigue syndrome (POFS) is an important factor in postoperative recovery. However, the effect of anesthetic drugs on postoperative fatigue in female patients has been rarely studied. This study compared the effects of maintaining general anesthesia with propofol or sevoflurane on the incidence of POFS in patients undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy. This prospective, single-blind, randomized controlled trial enrolled patients scheduled for laparoscopic hysterectomy. Eligible patients were randomized into the propofol and sevoflurane groups. The primary outcome was the incidence of POFS within 30 Days, defined by a simplified identity consequence fatigue scale (ICFS-10) scores≥24 or Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores of fatigues>6. Secondary outcomes were perioperative grip strength, early ambulation and anal exhaust after surgery, and inpatient days. 32 participants were assigned to the propofol group (P) and 33 to the sevoflurane group (S). Incidence of POFS on postoperative D1 was P (8/32) vs. S (10/33) (p = 0.66, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 16.4–27.00); D3 P (2/32) vs. S (5/33) (p = 0.45,95% CI:5.96–23.76). POFS were not found on postoperative D5 and D30. There were no differences in perioperative grip strength, early ambulation and anal exhaust after surgery, and inpatient days between the two groups. POFS after scheduled laparoscopic hysterectomy was unaffected by anesthesia with propofol vs. sevoflurane. The incidence of POFS was highest on the first postoperative day, at 27.7%, and declined progressively over the postoperative 30 days. Angong Niuhuang Wan (AGNHW) is a prescription from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that has been used for centuries to treat ischemic stroke (IS) and hemorrhagic stroke (HS). According to a recent study, targeting ferroptosis might be effective in the management of IS and HS. However, the ferroptosis-related effects and mechanisms of AGNHW have not yet been reported. This research examines the anti-ferroptosis mechanisms of AGNHW in the treatment of IS and HS. A system pharmacological approach including in vivo experiment, UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS, network pharmacology, molecular docking, microscale thermophoresis, and in vitro experiment was utilized to study the anti-ferroptosis mechanisms of AGNHW against IS and HS. In vivo experiments indicated that AGNHW enhanced nerve function, decreased cerebral infarct volume, ameliorated histological brain injuries, improved the structural integrity of the blood-brain barrier, ameliorated the mitochondrial dysfunction and morphology disruption, and inhibits ROS, LPO and Fe2+ accumulations in IS and HS rats. Using UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS, the key ingredients of AGNHW-containing serum were identified as bilirubin, berberine, baicalin, and wogonoside. According to the network pharmacology analyses, AGNHW could inhibit ferroptosis by modulating the PPAR and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways. The core targets are PPARγ, AKT, and GPX4. Molecular docking and microscale thermophoresis experiments further revealed that the key ingredients have strong interactions with ferroptosis-regulating core proteins. Moreover, in vitro experiment results showed that AGNHW alleviated ferroptosis injury induced by erastin in PC12 cells, increased cell viability, reduced the LPO and Fe2+ levels, and up-regulated mRNA expressions of PPARγ, AKT, and GPX4. AGNHW also up-regulated protein expressions of PPARγ, p-AKT/AKT, and GPX4 in IS and HS rats. AGNHW attenuated ferroptosis in treating IS and HS by targeting the PPARγ/AKT/GPX4 pathway. Interleukin-27 (IL-27) is known to play opposing roles in immunology. The present paper considers, specifically, the role IL-27 plays in cancer immunotherapy when combined with immune checkpoint inhibitor anti-PD-1. We first develop a mathematical model for this combination therapy, by a system of Partial Differential Equations, and show agreement with experimental results in mice injected with melanoma cells. We then proceed to simulate tumor volume with IL-27 injection at a variable dose F and anti-PD-1 at a variable dose g. We show that in some range of "small" values of g , as f increases tumor volume decreases as long as f < F c (g) and increases in a range where f > F c (g) , where F c (g) is a monotone increasing function of g. We report herein the construction of iron foam (IF) self-supported Ir-magnetite (Ir-Fe 3 O 4 /IF-T-x) electrode via galvanic replacement between IrCl 6 2− ions and Fe2+ in Fe 3 O 4 nanosheet arrays, which is simply synthesized by annealing IF in air and subsequent thermal treatment in reducing atmosphere. Such pre-treatment enables the growth of leaf-like Fe 3 O 4 nanosheet arrays with rich Fe2+ species and oxygen defects, which facilitate the depositing of Ir on the surface of nanosheet arrays and thereby promote the electrochemical OER performance in basic electrolyte. Impressively, the optimized Ir-Fe 3 O 4 /IF-400-2 delivers the highest electrocatalytic activity with a low overpotential of 316 mV to obtain industrial-grade current density of 500 mA cm−2 for alkaline OER. Membrane-based separation technology for carbon capture has received increasing attention in the world due to low energy consumption, investment and operating cost. However, the simultaneous improvement in selectivity and permeance has faced large challenge for mixed matrix membranes owing to limited affinity sites and transport channels. Herein, the nano-scale MIP-202 (SM-202) was first prepared by inhibited Ostwald ripening strategy during crystal growth, and then nano-scale amorphous MIP-202 (ASM-202) was prepared by thermal chemical reaction. Subsequently, mixed matrix composite membranes (MMCMs) were developed by using ASM-202 as a filler and polyether-block-amide (Pebax) as a polymer matrix, and the hydrophilicity-modified polysulfone ultrafiltration membrane (mPSf) was utilized as a porous support. It is observed that ASM-202 possessed good miscibility with Pebax polymer chains as a result of hydrogen bonds between two phases. Thus, the as-obtained MMCMs showed outstanding CO 2 separation performance (CO 2 permeance: 936 GPU; CO 2 /N 2 selectivity: 52), which were enhanced by 138 % and 108 % over that of the pristine Pebax membrane, as well as 15.3 % and 13.0 % over that of MMCMs incorporating with SM-202, respectively. The improvement in gas separation performance can be explained by the reason that the nano-scale ASM-202 with large specific surface area afforded more unsaturated metal sites and nitrogen-doped structure, thus improving the CO 2 affinity in membranes. Moreover, the loose amorphous structure of ASM-202 provides more transport passageways, which enhanced the diffusion rate of gas molecules through the membranes. Besides, resultant MMCMs maintained great stability for over 360 h using the CO 2 /N 2 mixed gas as feed gas, whose average CO 2 permeance and CO 2 /N 2 selectivity fluctuated at 880 GPU and 47. The effect of 1.0 % (w / v) sodium alginate (SA) glazing on surface frost formation and the quality of frozen fish balls in repeated freeze-thaw (F-T) cycles was studied. The optimal glazing property of 1.0 % SA solution was manifested by high transmittance, excellent water resistance, and high ice glazing rate. After seven F-T cycles, compared with the control, the ice production, thawing loss, and total volatile base nitrogen (TVB-N) value of samples with 1.0 % ice glazing decreased by 28.30 %, 21.02 %, and 27.35 %, while the chewiness and whiteness were increased by 15.02 % and 10.40 %, respectively. Moreover, compared to the control, the microstructure of fish balls glazed with 1.0 % SA was smoother and more uniform, and the ice crystal diameter was smaller. To accurately predict the drying of a porous medium from saturated to unsaturated conditions over time, this paper proposes two-phase partitioning boundaries for liquid water evaporation and water vapor transport at the medium surface. A non-isothermal two-phase (liquid water and gas mixtures), two-component (dry air and water vapor) transport model with nonequilibrium and interface-dependent phase change is then developed. The governing equations are then numerical solved using COMSOL Multiphysics software and applied to describe a series of laboratory soil drying tests as examples. The performance of the proposed boundaries at the surface is illustrated by comparison with other three common used boundaries. The results show that a specific flux of vapor at the surface with a zero flux of liquid water cannot be adopted to describe the drying process of initially saturated media due to the lack of interconnected gas-filled pores. The merged liquid-vapor boundary applied in the Darcy–Richards model significantly prolongs the constant rate stage when the liquid water evaporation is dominant. Then, the effects of air/gas–water interfacial area and water retention parameters on the drying process are investigated. A faster reduction in the air–water relative interfacial area at the medium surface will shorten the drying process with earlier dominance of the vapor transport. An increased entry capillary pressure and a decreased pore size distribution index for the water retention curve will result in slower drying, more loss by vapor transport and a more homogeneous distribution of pore water respect to depth. Messenger RNA (mRNA), microRNA (miRNA) and circular RNA (circRNA) play vital roles in the progression of breast cancer through a variety of biological effects and mechanisms. Recently, the regulatory network formed by circRNAs, miRNAs and mRNAs has piqued attention and garnered interest. CircRNAs bind to miRNAs through a regulatory mechanism in which endogenous RNAs compete to indirectly regulate the expression of mRNA corresponding to downstream target genes of miRNAs, contributing to the progression of breast cancer. The circRNA-miRNA-mRNA axis may be a marker for the early diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer and a potential breast cancer treatment target, providing unlimited possibilities for the development of breast cancer biomarkers and therapeutic strategies. This article reviews recent research progress on the circRNA-miRNA-mRNA axis as a regulatory network of competing endogenous RNAs in breast cancer. Complex geological conditions and/or inappropriate shield tunnel boring machine (TBM) operation can significantly degrade both the excavation and safety of tunnel construction. In recent years, the excavation behaviour of shield TBMs has been a popular topic in the literature given the large volume of data automatically collected by modern shields. These datasets provide an excellent opportunity to apply advanced data analysis techniques to improve predictions of shield tunnelling excavation behaviour. In this study, a framework to develop machine learning (ML)-based regression models for predicting the behaviour of an earth pressure balance (EPB) shield machine using tunnelling parameters is proposed. The feasibility of four ML algorithms, namely Linear Regression (LR), Decision Tree Regression (DTR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), and Gradient Boosting Regression (GBR), to predict EPB shield excavation behaviour is explored through their application to a recent tunnelling case history in sandy soils. The results show that the misestimates were primarily attributed to a reduction of screw conveyor rotational speed (SCRS), induced by a lower injection volume, the artificial manipulation of penetration rate (PR), the local variations of total jacking load, and the use of 'breakout' cutterwheel torque (CT). The GBR model provided the best performance, while LR often performs the worst due to its inability to handle highly nonlinear relationships. DTR prevented the overfitting problem by using a lower max depth parameter towards sacrificing its accuracy. The performance of SVR was seriously affected by loss functions. The incidence of frequent foodborne disease outbreaks due to Staphylococcus aureus contamination necessitates the urgent searching for effective methods to monitor S. aureus. This research aims to construct model with a dynamic survival curve and some static growth curves to predict the behavior of S. aureus in raw pork. Lack of research about S. aureus kinetics in pork under fluctuating temperature conditions across freezing and thawing necessitates this study. One‐step analysis was used to determine the model parameters, which was more efficient than conventional model analysis with two steps. The results of kinetic analysis showed that Tmin (minimum growth temperature) was 6.85°C, which is close to the estimated values in previous reports. Subsequently, validation results indicated the integrated model can accurately predict the behavior of S. aureus regardless of isothermal or nonisothermal conditions with the root‐mean‐square errors (RMSE < 0.44 log CFU/g, 73.9% of the errors of prediction falls within ±0.5 log CFU/g), accuracy factors Af and bias factors Bf were both close to 1. In oats, polyphenols are mainly present in the outer layer of the oat grain in a bound state. This study addressed the limited knowledge regarding the antioxidant activity and in vitro digestion properties of oat brans under three drying methods: steam, microwave, and hot‐air drying. The total polyphenol content, antioxidant activity (OH, DPPH, ABTS, and T‐AOC), and in vitro digestion properties of 60‐ and 80‐mesh oat brans were determined. The steaming‐treated oat brans exhibited higher total polyphenol content, DPPH scavenging rate, and antioxidant capacity than those treated with the other two methods. Moreover, the·OH scavenging capacity and ABTS radical scavenging rate of steaming‐treated oat brans were not significantly different from those of the oat brans treated with the other two methods (p <.05). The three investigated drying methods can increase the in vitro bioavailability of the polyphenol content and antioxidants in oat brans. Novelty impact statement: Steaming, microwaving, and hot‐air drying deeply modified the total phenol content and antioxidants in oat bran. Introduction: In 2018, a renal risk score of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated glomerulonephritis (AAGN) based on estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), normal glomeruli, and tubular atrophy/interstitial fibrosis (TA/IF) was proposed to predict renal outcomes. We aimed to evaluate this renal risk score in a myeloperoxidase (MPO)–ANCA predominant population in Northeast China. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinicopathologic data of 65 patients biopsy-proven from a Chinese medical center. Each patient was assessed by eGFR, normal glomeruli, and TA/IF, and the renal outcome was evaluated using the renal risk score. Results: In our study, 95.4% of patients were ANCA positive (78.5% MPO-ANCA positive and 16.9% proteinase 3-ANCA positive). The average follow-up period was 14.3 months. Thirty-four patients (52.3%) reached end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Based on the renal risk score, 8 (12.3%), 31 (47.7%), and 26 (40%) patients were divided into the low-risk, medium-risk, and high-risk groups, respectively. Kaplan–Meier survival curves revealed the high-risk group had worse renal outcomes than the low-risk group (p<0.01) and the medium-risk group (p<0.01), but the renal outcome did not differ between the low-risk and medium-risk groups (p>0.017). Similar results were obtained by the competitive survival analysis. The AUC for 3-year overall ESRD predictions was 0.845. In the regression analysis, the renal risk score was a favorable predictor for the development of ESRD (HR 3.13, 95%CI 1.58–6.19, p=0.001). Conclusion: The renal risk score is a preferred index that can predict ESRD in Chinese AAGN patients, especially in the high-risk group with worse renal outcomes. Summary: Fungi, as eukaryotic organisms, contain two genomes, the mitochondrial genome and the nuclear genome, in their cells. How the two genomes evolve and correlate to each other is debated. Herein, taking the gourmet pine mushroom Tricholoma matsutake as an example, we performed comparative mitogenomic analysis using samples collected from diverse locations and compared the evolution of the two genomes. The T. matsutake mitogenome encodes 49 genes and is rich of repetitive and non‐coding DNAs. Six genes were invaded by up to 11 group I introns, with one cox1 intron cox1P372 showing presence/absence dynamics among different samples. Bioinformatic analyses suggested limited or no evidence of mitochondrial heteroplasmy. Interestingly, hundreds of mitochondrial DNA fragments were found in the nuclear genome, with several larger than 500 nt confirmed by PCR assays and read count comparisons, indicating clear evidence of transfer of mitochondrial DNA into the nuclear genome. Nuclear DNA of T. matsutake showed a higher mutation rate than mitochondrial DNA. Furthermore, we found evidence of incongruence between phylogenetic trees derived from mitogenome and nuclear DNA sequences. The high moisture content of lignite restricts its extensive and efficient use. Furthermore, the reabsorption of lignite is also a factor that affects lignite spontaneous combustion. Therefore, it is of great importance to study the process and mechanism of water molecule desorption and adsorption on lignite and coke (25–950°C) to achieve the clean and efficient utilization of lignite and environmental protection. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), thermogravimetric analysis, and other techniques were used in this study to explore the water molecule absorption and desorption processes of lignite pyrolysis at different temperatures (25–950°C) and the special contributions of ether bonds to water molecule adsorption. A mechanism of lignite water molecule adsorption was proposed. The results showed that ether bonds played a special role in the water molecule adsorption by pyrolyzed lignite. The ether bond content was greater in the coal samples at 300 and 950°C, which changed the trend of lignite water molecule absorption and the distribution of water (T2) detected in the 1H-NMR experiments and delayed the escape of water molecules during moisture desorption. The total amount of adsorbed water decreased first and then increased in the coal samples as the pyrolysis temperature increased. However, the maximum adsorption interactions of each coal sample increased first and then decreased. This was the result of the interactions between the pores and the oxygen-containing functional groups. Based on the above analysis, water molecule adsorption mechanism models of lignite and coke were constructed. The structure and evolution of protoplanetary discs (PPDs) are largely governed by disc angular momentum transport, mediated by magnetic fields. In the most observable outer disc, ambipolar diffusion is the primary non-ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) effect. In this work, we study the gas dynamics in outer PPDs by conducting a series of global three-dimensional non-ideal MHD simulations with ambipolar diffusion and net poloidal magnetic flux, using the Athena++ MHD code, with resolution comparable to local simulations. Our simulations demonstrate the coexistence of magnetized disc winds and turbulence driven by the magneto-rotational instability (MRI). While MHD winds dominate disc angular momentum transport, the MRI turbulence also contributes significantly. We observe that magnetic flux spontaneously concentrates into axisymmetric flux sheets, leading to radial variations in turbulence levels, stresses, and accretion rates. Annular substructures arise as a natural consequence of magnetic flux concentration. The flux concentration phenomena show diverse properties with different levels of disc magnetization and ambipolar diffusion. The disc generally loses magnetic flux over time, though flux sheets could prevent the leak of magnetic flux in some cases. Our results demonstrate the ubiquity of disc annular substructures in weakly MRI turbulent outer PPDs and imply a stochastic nature of disc evolution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cu-Based quantum dots (QDs) are of great interest due to their unique properties enabling the replacement of traditional toxic Cd- or Pb-based QDs, for use in bioimaging and biomedical applications. Different reaction conditions have profound effects upon the morphologies and photophysical properties of the obtained QDs, the investigation of which is crucial in order to prepare the highest quality Cu-based QDs. Here, we have carried out a series of studies, optimizing the synthesis of CIZS/ZnS/ZnS QDs via careful control of the ZnS shell deposition. The effects of different reaction temperatures and growth times on the resulting morphologies and optical properties of the QDs have been systematically examined. It has been found that reaction temperature plays a significant role in the resulting optical properties and morphologies, affecting the deposition dynamics of the shell materials and the onset of severe surface ligand degradation. Based on the detailed studies, optimal reaction conditions have been chosen and highly fluorescent CIZS/ZnS/ZnS core/shell/shell heterostructured QDs, with PLQYs as high as 41.6 ± 4.2%, have been produced. In addition, we have achieved for the first time a "giant" ZnS shell (QDs of 13.02 nm in diameter). Background: Neural-network methods have been widely used for the prediction of dose distributions in radiotherapy. However, the prediction accuracy of existing methods may be degraded by the problem of dose imbalance. In this work, a new loss function is proposed to alleviate the dose imbalance and achieve more accurate prediction results. The U-Net architecture was employed to build a prediction model. Our study involved a total of 110 patients with left-breast cancer, who were previously treated by volumetric-modulated arc radiotherapy. The patient dataset was divided into training and test subsets of 100 and 10 cases, respectively. We proposed a novel 'sharp loss' function, and a parameter γ was used to adjust the loss properties. The mean square error (MSE) loss and the sharp loss with different γ values were tested and compared using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.Results: The sharp loss achieved superior dose prediction results compared to those of the MSE loss. The best performance with the MSE loss and the sharp loss was obtained when the parameter γ was set to 100. Specifically, the mean absolute difference values for the planning target volume were 318.87 ± 30.23 for the MSE loss versus 144.15 ± 16.27 for the sharp loss with γ = 100 (p < 0.05). The corresponding values for the ipsilateral lung, the heart, the contralateral lung, and the spinal cord were 278.99 ± 51.68 versus 198.75 ± 61.38 (p < 0.05), 216.99 ± 44.13 versus 144.86 ± 43.98 (p < 0.05), 125.96 ± 66.76 versus 111.86 ± 47.19 (p > 0.05), and 194.30 ± 14.51 versus 168.58 ± 25.97 (p < 0.05), respectively.Conclusions: The sharp loss function could significantly improve the accuracy of radiotherapy dose prediction. A porous Cu2O/TiO2 hybrid photocatalyst with n-type Cu2O decorated on the mesoporous TiO2 derived from MIL-125 was designed through the in situ Cu2+ ion reduction strategy. Under UV-vis light irradiation, the Cu2O/TiO2 composite with 4.2 wt% of Cu2O displayed the highest hydrogen evolution rate of 14.39 mmol h−1 g−1, which was about 9.6 and 24.8 times that of the original mesoporous TiO2 and pure Cu2O, respectively. The enhancement in photocatalytic activity can be mainly attributed to the type-I band structure formed, which can efficiently enhance the photoexcited charge carrier mobility across the phase interfaces of the Cu2O/TiO2 composite, as evidenced by the UV-DRS spectra, Mott–Schottky curves, and XPS analysis. Besides, the narrow band gap of Cu2O, conducive to the absorption of visible light, and the high specific surface of TiO2 were also found to contribute to the photoactivity enhancement. A study on the genetic polymorphisms of 29 Y-STR loci in 1 532 unrelated males of Han population in Southern Jiangxi province and its genetic relationship with other ethnic groups in China was conducted. The Y-STR loci were amplified by DNATyper™ Y29 kit, and capillary electrophoresis was carried out by 3730 genetic analyzer. Y-STR typing was carried out by GeneMapper IDX 1.4 software, and genetic data such as allele frequency and haplotype frequency of 29 Y-STR loci were calculated. Mega-X was used to construct the phylogenetic trees for the selected populations. The molecular variance analysis (AMO- VA) of YHRD online tool software was used to calculate the genetic distance between Southern Jiangxi Han population and other populations, and at the same time to construct multi-dimensional scale map (MDS). After analysis, the gene diversity (GD) values of 29 Y-STR loci ranged from 0.381 5 to 0.876 6. In addition to DYS508, DYS437, DYS391 and DYS438 loci, the GD values of the other 25 gene loci were higher than 0.5. The haplotype diversity (HD) was 0.999 924, indicating that 29 Y-STR loci had high genetic polymorphism in Southern Jiangxi Han population. Compared with the Han population in other areas, the genetic distance between the Han population in Southern Jiangxi and Fujian was the closest (genetic distance Rst is 0.000 2), and that between the Han populations in Southern Jiangxi and Heilongjiang was the furthest (Rst is 0.024 9). Compared with other ethnic groups, the Han nationality in Southern Jiangxi had the closest genetic distance to the Bai nationality in Yunnan (Rst is 0.005 9), and the furthest genetic distance to the Tibetan nationality in Ganzi (Rst is 0.468 9). The results showed that the 29 Y-STR loci in this study have high genetic polymorphism in Southern Jiangxi Han population, which can meet the requirements of family investigation and forensic examination. This article proposes a low-thrust reconfiguration strategy for formation flying based on the Jordan normal form and evaluates its performance based on the required control acceleration and fuel cost. First, the relative dynamics of reconfiguration is disposed by Jordan decomposition to describe the unstable component, i.e., the drift velocity along the track direction, which is not explicit in eigenstructure. Next, the initial states of the Jordan-reduced dynamics are regarded as orbital invariants without control to characterize a formation configuration, similar to the definition of orbital elements that are invariants of the unperturbed Keplerian orbit. Based on the derived differential form of ISJD with control, the reconfiguration trajectory is parameterized by a functional integral, the existence of which is then proved analytically by the proposed polynomial series method. The specified optimal trajectories are yielded by the practical Radau pseudospectral method numerically. Finally, the effects of reconfiguring positions and relative orbital orientation on the required acceleration and fuel cost are investigated using a technique for order preference based on similarity to the ideal solution.
