Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are promising alternatives to traditional antibiotics for treating skin wound infections. Nonetheless, their short half‐life in biological environments restricts clinical applicability. Covalent immobilization of AMPs onto suitable substrates offers a comprehensive solution, creating contact‐killing surfaces with long‐term functionality. Here, a copolymer of poly[(hydroxy ethyl acrylamide)‐co‐(4‐benzophenone acrylamide)‐co‐(pentafluorophenyl acrylate)‐co‐(ECOSURF EH‐3 acrylate)], in short poly(HEAAm‐co‐BPAAm‐co‐PFPA‐co‐EH3A), is synthesized by free radical polymerization. Subsequent modification of active ester groups with the amine groups of SAAP‐148, results in a copolymer, that is non‐cytotoxic to human lung fibroblasts. UV photocrosslinking of the benzophenone units yields a polymer network that forms a hydrogel after swelling with aqueous medium. Both the SAAP‐148‐modified polymer in solution and the photocrosslinked hydrogels show good antimicrobial activity against strains of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii, including multidrug‐resistant strains, frequently found in wound infections. The covalent attachment of SAAP‐148 prevents leaching, ensuring sustained antimicrobial activity for at least 48 h in diluted human blood plasma and 14 days in PBS. This prolonged retention of antimicrobial activity in human blood plasma significantly enhances its clinical potential. Overall, this study shows the potential of the AMP‐functionalized photocrosslinkable polymer as antimicrobial wound dressings, providing an effective alternative to antibiotics. Aberrant fucosylation is the hallmark of malignant cell transformation, leading to many cellular events, such as uncontrolled cell proliferation, angiogenesis, tumor cell invasion, and metastasis. This increased fucosylation is caused due to the over-expression of fucosyltransferases (FUTs) that catalyzes the transfer of the fucose (Fuc) residue from GDP-fucose (donor substrate) to various oligosaccharides, glycoproteins, and glycolipids (acceptor substrates). Hence, fucosyltransferases (FUTs) are considered as validated target for the drug discovery against on cancers. In the current study, a drug repurposing approach was deployed to identify new hits against fucosyltransferase 2 (FUT2), using computational and biophysical techniques. A library of 500 US-FDA approved drugs were screened in-silico against fucosyltransferase 2 (FUT2) donor and acceptor sites. Five drugs were predicted as hits, based on their significant docking scores (-5.8 to -8.2), and binding energies (-43 to -51.19 Kcal/mol). Furthermore, STD-NMR highlighted the epitope of these drugs in the binding site of fucosyltransferase 2 (FUT2). Simulation studies provided insights about the binding site of these drugs, and 4 of them, acarbose, ascorbic acid, ibuprofen, and enalaprilat dihydrate, were found as significant binders at the donor binding site of fucosyltransferase 2 (FUT2). Hence, the current study reports the repurposed drugs as potential hits against fucosyltransferase 2 (FUT2). Purpose: This study aimed to examine the correlation between authentic leadership and career competence, exploring the mediating roles of tacit knowledge sharing and employee service innovative behavior. Design/methodology/approach: Data were collected using convenience sampling and a time-lagged design from the Pakistani banking sector. The time-lagged design was employed to gather data at two different points in time. SPSS statistical software was used for descriptive analysis, and hypotheses were tested using Mplus. Findings: The results demonstrate that authentic leadership has a significant positive impact on tacit knowledge sharing. This knowledge sharing, in turn, positively impacts employee service innovative behavior, which subsequently enhances career competence. Furthermore, tacit knowledge sharing mediates the relationship between authentic leadership and employee service innovative behavior. Social implications: This study has social implications for organizations aiming to align their inclusive goals with societal needs. The findings can help foster a culture of knowledge sharing, thereby contributing to societal innovation. The environmental problems caused by thermal reactions have prompted the search for new approaches. Photochemical curing, which uses light energy, offers a sustainable solution for polymerizing complex polymers, reducing energy consumption, and emissions. Current study involves cationic UV‐curing of biobased polyurethanes (PU) with a thermo‐responsive shape memory behavior on very low temperature almost equal to human body temperature. This product has a potential to be utilized as drug carrier or related biomedical applications, as well as self‐tightening materials against human body heat. Polymer has been designed from sesame oil, with slight modification through a facile epoxidation approach. Main objectives of this research were to prepare biobased PU recipe; to utilize a specially designed UV‐curing approach for this synthesis; and to develop shape memory properties upon sensing human body temperature. Prepared material has been analyzed through FTIR, SEM, TGA, DSC, water absorption capacity (WAC), and gel contents (GCs). Shape memory behavior has been tested in both air and water against a range of temperatures (35°C–80°C). At 35°C in 208 s, prepared sample, presented 96.60% Rr and 90.56% Rf, whereas at 80°C in 55 s Rr increased to 98.33% and Rf increased to 100%. The human microbiome is a complex ecosystem of bacteria residing in the body. It plays a crucial role in safeguarding the overall well-being of individuals while also making them more vulnerable to various diseases. The human microbiota, genetics, and health have a complex connection, which is significant for maintaining health and preventing infections. The microbiome has a role in several gastrointestinal, skin, dental, and systemic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. Genetic variation and lifestyle and dietary choices modify the microbiome composition, thereby influencing the risk of developing severe infections. The microbiome impacts host gene expression and acts as a biomarker for several diseases. The gut microbiome and genes are linked in the pathogenesis of obesity and inflammatory bowel disease. Therefore, this review focuses on the relationship between the microbiome and genetics and elucidation of the complexity of this connection. The press photo has always created a wide debate and discussion among the recipients about the role it plays in the extent of its impact on the thoughts and feelings of the recipients, and this controversy is due to the different reactions that those pictures caused on many occasions, facts and events. Therefore this study came to know the impact of the press image on the recipient.This study aimed to identify the impact of the form and content of the journalistic photograph in the four Jordanian daily press on the receiverThrough the survey method adopted by this study, the researcher used the questionnaire on the study sample represented by academics in media colleges and arts in the Jordanian universities, the total of the sample is 260 respondents The study concluded that the form of the journalistic photograph had a high emotional, cognitive, and behavioral impact on the receiver The emotional effects of the photograph form came to a high degree on the receiver and ranked first, while the cognitive effects of the photograph form ranked second and to a high degree, whereas the behavioral effects of the journalistic photograph form ranked third, and to a medium degree. The results also showed the impact of the content of the journalistic photograph in terms of emotional, cognitive and behavioral effects to a medium degree on the receiver, and the emotional effects got the first, and the cognitive effects ranked second, while the behavioral effects ranked third and the last.

As per the World Health Organization (WHO), antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a natural phenomenon whereby microbes develop or acquire genes that render them resistant. The rapid emergence and spread of this phenomenon can be attributed to human activity specifically, the improper and excessive use of antimicrobials for the treatment, prevention, or control of infections in humans, animals, and plants. As a result of this factor, many antibiotics have reduced effectiveness against microbes or may not work fully. Thus, there is a pressing need for the development of new antimicrobial agents in order to counteract antimicrobial resistance. Metallic nanoparticles (MNPs) are well known for their broad antimicrobial properties. Consequently, the use of MNPs with current antibiotics holds significant implications. MNPs, including silver nanoparticles (AgNPS), zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs), copper nanoparticles (CuNPs), and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), have been extensively studied in conjunction with antibiotics. However, their mechanism of action is still not completely understood. The interaction between these MNPs and antibiotics can be either synergistic, additive, or antagonistic. The synergistic effect is crucial as it represents the desired outcome that researchers aim for and can be advantageous for the advancement of new antimicrobial agents. This article provides a concise and academic description of the recent advancements in MNP and antibiotic conjugates, including their mechanism of action. Efficacies of plant metabolites are known to be dependent on their extraction methods. Yields and compositions of phytoconstituents in the extract were evaluated following supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of Vitex agnus-castus leaves, static extraction times (SET) for 30 min, subsequently dynamic extraction time (DET) for 30 min (condition A) and SET for 0 min followed by DET for 60 min (condition B). The extract exposed to condition B gave an extraction yield of 0.169 g compared to 0.115 g for condition A. High-performance liquid chromatography analysis revealed compounds including cinnamic acid, kaempferol, ferulic acid, rutin, and caffeic acid, in high concentrations in the extract exposed to condition B. Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecalis, and Candida albicans were more affected by the condition B with 32 ± 0.1, 20 ± 0.2, 32 ± 0.2, 35 ± 0.2, and 40 ± 0.1 mm inhibition zones, respectively. Less MIC and MBC were noticed of the exposed extract to condition B than to condition A against C. albicans and bacteria. The IC50 of the extract exposed to condition B was high against ovarian tumor cells. Presently the efficacy of the exposed extract to condition B for wound healing process was documented. Research Question/Issue: We examine the role of board gender diversity in attenuating loan covenant violations. We also investigate whether the relationship is influenced by female independent directors. Finally, we examine the channels of this relationship. Research Findings/Insights: Drawing on gender socialization and diversity theories, our findings show that firms with gender‐diverse boards are less likely to violate loan covenants. We also find that boards with more female directors have a stronger impact on loan covenant violations than those with fewer female directors, consistent with critical mass theory. Our results also suggest that the negative relationship stems from female independent directors rather than from female executive directors. Our channel analyses indicate that the relationship is routed through covenant strictness, the financial performance of firms, and better corporate governance. Our further analysis demonstrates that the relationship is pronounced in female‐dominated industries and financially distressed firms, as well as in firms whose directors have greater experience. Our results are robust across a series of sensitivity and endogeneity tests. Theoretical/Academic Implications: We contribute to an emerging strand of literature that examines the link between board gender diversity and loan covenants. We fill a gap in this stream of literature by providing the first empirical evidence that female directors in the boardroom reduce loan covenant violations through their greater integrative bargaining skills during loan deals, improving firm financial performance, and ensuring good corporate governance. Our study also contributes to the growing literature on the differential effects on corporate policies of female directors (independent and executive) and critical mass. Practitioner/Policy Implications: This finding offers significant policy implications for managers, investors, and policymakers. Given the growing frequency of loan covenant violations, the presence of a gender‐diverse board should serve as a potent indicator to creditors who have a concern regarding loans. We propose that sub‐supplier sustainability compliance in developing economies' textile and garment supply chains can be more effectively realized by understanding sub‐suppliers' target markets. We introduce the concept of sub‐suppliers' customer share of production as the share of production that sub‐suppliers sell to "exporting" direct suppliers that cater to the international market vis‐à‐vis "local" direct suppliers that cater to the domestic market. Through this concept and qualitative evidence, we offer a model outlining that as sub‐suppliers sell more to exporting direct suppliers, they encounter increased coercive, competitive, and collaborative pressures for sustainability compliance. This article contributes to the multi‐tier sustainable supply chain management literature by illustrating how target markets exert pressures for sub‐supplier sustainability compliance, and why some sub‐suppliers are more inclined to invest in sustainability compliance, some decouple from it, and others invest beyond compliance. The steam condenser is a crucial component in power plants, playing a vital role in influencing the overall performance of steam power plants. This paper delves into a detailed assessment of the thermal aspects and evaluation of steam surface condensers. To conduct this rigorous evaluation, we meticulously crafted a three-dimensional (3D) model of a multi-tube single-pass counter-flow heat exchanger using ANSYS Design-Modeller. Within this model, a multiphase mixture model was harnessed to replicate the condensation process that takes place within the condenser. After the model's development, a series of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were expertly executed utilizing ANSYS Fluent Workbench. The simulations encompassed diverse cooling water flow rates and steam inlet velocities. Notably, two sets of CFD simulations were carried out: the initial set featured a velocity inlet in the condenser, while the second set involved CFD simulations with a pressure steam inlet. The findings derived from these simulations unveiled a noteworthy correlation between the condensation rate within the shell and both the rate of circulating water flow and the operational pressure of the condenser. Additionally, it was discerned that the condensation rate could be further influenced by the specific geometry of the condenser. In sum, this study concludes that optimizing the geometrical configuration and baffle arrangements holds promise for increasing the condensation rate and overall performance of steam condensers employed within steam power plants.
