Alumina is one of ceramic materials that used for the high-performance applications, such as: (chemistry, health, medical, electrical insulator, refractory uses and others). In this study, the carbon-steel powder has been added to Alumina powder with a weight ratio of (1:1). The mechanical property (compressive strength) and thermal conductivity have been investigated experimentally for a composite material sintered at five different temperatures (1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, and 1500)°C. From the results obtained there is an increasing in compressive strength and thermal conductivity of the composite material for temperature range of (1200 to 1400)°C, comparing to pure alumina, in which both compressive strength and thermal conductivity were increasing with sintering temperature , but in values less than for composite. This indicated that adding the metal powder enhances the mechanical and thermal properties for solid state temperature of the two materials.

- Abstract
This research work is part of a project to get an M.A. degree. Some of the linguistic sciences specialized in the search for meaning in the text, such as semantics, pragmatics, cognitive linguistics and etc. will be clarified. Besides, we shed light on the elements of semantic analysis with examples according to the basic scheme theory of reference, which indicates that the language is of a fictional nature. As it is a variety of similarity and symmetry relations between the form of the word and its meaning, whether it is phonetic or written or related to metaphor, metonymy or analogy, and it is not a random relationship. In all these genres, a very important role is played by imaginative comprehension, which subsequently acquires a traditional character and spreads due to the common collective understanding of the word among speakers of the speech community.

The process of splitting the image into many segments can be called as image segmentation. The main aim of this process is to recognize the object in an image. Let’s take an example a person wants to cross the road the first thing he’ll do is he’ll look at his right side first then left. If no vehicle is coming then the person will try to cross the road apart from that, this person will also check whether there is any electric poll or dog or is there any whole in the ground etc. The point is we’re doing object detection first then we’re crossing the road. Same thing we’ll train our machine to do but it can’t recognize directly the way humans do. We have to train the model first for that we’re doing image segmentation. This step is typically used to recognize the objects or other relevant information.

A modified mixed Gaussian plus impulse image denoising algorithm based on weighted encoding with image sparsity and nonlocal self-similarity priors regularization is proposed in this paper. The encoding weights and the priors imposed on the images are incorporated into a variational framework to treat more complex mixed noise distribution. Such noise is characterized by heavy tails caused by impulse noise which needs to be eliminated through proper weighting of encoding residual. The outliers caused by the impulse noise has a significant effect on the encoding weights. Hence a more accurate residual encoding error initialization plays the important role in overall denoising performance, especially at high impulse noise rates. In this paper, outliers free initialization image, and an easier to implement a parameter-free procedure for updating encoding weights have been proposed. Experimental results demonstrate the capability of the proposed strategy to recover images highly corrupted by mixed Gaussian plus impulse noise as compared with the state of art denoising algorithm. The achieved results motivate us to implement the proposed algorithm in practice.

Language and Literature - Abstract

The present study aimed to diagnose the Cryptosporidium parasite and identify the extent of the parasite's spread in people who suffer from diarrhea and its relationship to epidemiological factors in the holy Karbala Province using three different diagnostic methods. Microscopic examination, which includes staining the samples with the modified acid dye, as well as using the molecular examination using the technique of polymerase chain reaction, the collection of samples was carried out in Al-Hussein Medical City and Karbala Teaching Hospital for children. So, in the laboratories of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala for the period from the beginning of September 2020 until the end of February 2021, 320 stool samples were collected from persons suspected of having the parasite (those with diarrhea and not infected) and who came to Imam Hussein Medical City and Karbala Teaching Hospital. For children, of both sexes, and with age groups from (1-50) years, this was done. The first half of each sample was utilized to produce reasonably thick smears for evaluation with the modified acid dye, and the second part was preserved at -20°C for subsequent use in the molecular study., as the results of the microscopic examination using the modified acid dye showed that the number of infected samples reached 26 samples as the number of Males have 15 samples, while the number of females reached 11 samples and the overall infection rate was 8.1%, while the infection rate was lower by using immunological tests by 6.8%. The incidence rate was affected by epidemiological factors below the probability level P= 0.05, as males recorded a higher rate of infection compared to females, as the infection rate reached 10% and 6.47%, respectively, while the infection rate recorded significant differences according to the type of housing, as the infection rate reached 12.2% in the countryside and in The city, the infection rate was 6.5%. As the current study recorded different infection rates according to the months of the year, the highest rate of infection was in the month of December by 16%, while the lowest injury rate was concentrated in the month of October and November by 1.8%, 4.7%, and the study recorded. The highest rate of infection was in the age group (1-10) by 14.1%, while the current study did not record any infection in the age group (40-31). Drinking water sources played a role in the spread of the Cryptosporidium parasite, the infection rate for persons who drink tap water was 18.9%, whereas the lowest rate for people who drink sterile water was 4.8 percent, according to the research. As for the companion parasites, the current study recorded that the most associated parasite is Entamoeba histolytica by 3.4%, while the appearance of Girdia lamblia parasite was less by 2.1%. A molecular assay was used on the second part of the samples, which was kept at a temperature of -20, for the purpose of confirming infection in the positive samples and others, and to determine the accurate diagnosis of this parasite. Specific primers for the oocyst wall protein (COWP) gene were used, Cryptosporidium oocyst wall protein. Polymerization, the first stage was the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), where the DNA was amplified using specific primers and the reaction was accomplished using a thermocycler and under optimal conditions. The results revealed a single package (Singal band in agarose gel) with weight Molecular 769 base pairs of nitrogenous bases in the DNA extracted from stool samples of people with Cryptosporidium, which is an indication of the patient's infection with the parasite, and the second stage in which the technique of nested polymerase chain reaction is used. By using two types of specific primers in the reaction (COWP F and COWP R), the DNA was amplified using specific primers and it was The reaction was carried out using a thermocycler device and under optimal conditions, the results showed the presence of one packet in the acarose gel with a molecular weight of 553 pairs of nitrogenous bases in the DNA extracted from the stool samples of people with Cryptosporidium, an indication of the patient's infection with the parasite, and the current study showed that the sensitivity The microscopy examination was less than the molecular examination, It was concluded from this study that the Cryptosporidium parasite is one of the parasites that cause diarrhea in humans, especially children in Karbala Province. It may be diagnosed using a variety of ways, with the polymerase chain reaction approach being one of the most effective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

his paper presents the design of a sliding mode controller for an uncertain model of a TORA system (Translational Oscillations with a Rotational Actuator) as a two DOF underactuated mechanical system. The switching function is selected to make the TORA system an asymptotically stable mass-spring system with a nonlinear damping effect when the sliding mode controller constrains the state to the sliding manifold. This sliding mode controller is derived here according to a new formula consisting of continuous and discontinuous parts. The main obstacle in the controller design is the uncertainty in the switching function, which appears in the controller formula. The sliding controller is found effective in bringing the system state to the neighborhood of the equilibrium point in spite of the uncertainty in the switching function. In addition, the chattering problem is solved via the use of approximate signum function.

A column is a structural member that bears an axial compressive load and is more likely to fail due to buckling than due to material strength. Some of these columns work at high temperature and this temperature effects the behavior of buckling. Then the designer must takes this factor into consideration. The present work involves the high-temperature buckling of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy rod(column) at different range of temperature (room temperature to 200°C). This work study the critical buckling load (Pcr) under the above temperature dynamically. The (Pcr) can be predicted by Euler theory. It has been observed that the Euler theory is not satisfy to applied under high temperature unless using temperature safety factor. The results show that elevated temperature weakens the structure and decreasing its mechanical and buckling properties. From the experimental results, empirical equations were derived to predict yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, critical buckling load and temperature safety factor at high temperature.

The effect of three stir casting temperatures (ST) (900, 1000, and 1100 on magnetic and microstructure properties of AA5052 reinforced with 5wt% TiO2 nanoparticles has been investigated using the stir casting technique. It was found that the magnetic properties decrease with increasing stir casting temperature and the least magnetic saturation (Ms) and magnetic susceptibility (Xm) occurred for nanocomposite fabricated under stir casting temperature (1000 °C) also the maximum coercivity (Hc) and residual magnetization (Mr) occurred in this nanocomposite. The values of magnetic saturation (Ms), coercivity (Hc) and residual magnetization (Mr) obtained for nanocomposite under (1000 °C) are 2.714×10−6 (A/m), 4676.55530 (A/m) and 3.25032 ×10−8 (A/m), respectively. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is used to analyze the microstructure, and it is discovered that well-distributed nano particles lead to decrease grain size in the parent phase.

The INS system’s update rate is faster than that of the GNSS receiver. Additionally, GNSS receiver data may suffer from blocking for a few seconds for different reasons, affecting architecture integrations between GNSS and INS. This paper proposes a novel GNSS data prediction method using the k nearest neighbor (KNN) predictor algorithm to treat data synchronization between the INS sensors and GNSS receiver and overcome those GNSS receiver’s blocking, which may occur for a few seconds. The experimental work was conducted on a flying drone over a minor Hungarian (Mátyásföld, 47.4992 N, 19.1977 E) model airfield. The GNSS data are predicted by four different scenarios: the first is no blocking of data, and the other three have blocking periods of 1, 4, and 8 s, respectively. Ultra-tight architecture integration is used to perform the GNSS/INS integration to deal with the INS sensors’ inaccuracy and their divergence throughout the operation. The results show that using the GNSS/INS integration system yields better positioning data (in three axes (X, Y, and Z)) than using a stand-alone INS system or GNSS without a predictor.

This paper presents a high quality design of a 7th order Type-I Chebyshev low-pass filter (LPF) based on a stepped-impedance (SI) metamaterialized microstrip. The respective methodology involves embedding split ring resonators (SRRs) in addition to complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) in filter design. The introduced metamaterialized filter manifestd better characteristics than in the conventional filter design and in some other availablefilter designs achieving lower insertion loss and appreciable size reduction. In this metamaterialized filter, miniaturization has been attained through implanting rectangular SRRs on top of the microstrip line besides etching squared CSRRs in its ground plane forming a defected ground structure (DGS). The design shows voltage standing wave ratios (VSWRs) of less than 1.05 in the pass-band interval yielding flattest pass-band with clear impedance matching. The shown group delay (GD) pattern is almost constant of around 0.5ns. Roger substrate material (RO3210) has been utilized with dielectric constant 10.2, substrate thickness 1.27mm, and thickness of microstrip conductor 0.035mm. Simulation outcomes have been obtained using the Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) package that is based on finite element method (FEM). The filter is applicable in most microwave (MW) and RF systems.

This paper introduces several miniaturized symmetrical designs of high selectivity metamaterialized low-pass filters (LPFs) based on a stepped-impedance (SI) 3rd order Type-I Chebyshev LPF prototype. The pass-band interval of the prototype design manifests a nearly constant group delay (GD) ranging between 0.4–0.45 ns with lower level of ripples. It further exhibits voltage standing wave ratios (VSWRs) starting at value 1 and keeping on a reasonable level of impedance matching. To ensure for considerable metamaterialized LPFs designs, the methodology behind this work has resorted to exploit: split ring resonators (SRRs), complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs), besides open stubs (OSs). Qualities such as sharp cutoff, high selectivity, substantial size reduction, and low insertion loss, have all been achieved. The designs were applied on the Roger substrate material (RO3210) with dielectric constant of 10.2, substrate thickness of 1.27 mm, thickness of microstrip conductor of 0.035 mm, then simulated using the package Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The applications field of these filters involves most microwave (MW) communication systems in diverse civil and military horizons.

Image compression solutions are a pivotal field that gain over a remarkable research interest and called upon to extend widely with respect to the increasing of its applications. The considerable challenge of this solution is related to the storage and bandwidth requirements. A highly compression rate with a high image resolution is considered to be the key factors for implementing a robust image compression technique. In this paper, the proposed method is deemed to be simple and effective due to using different levels of compression process which is starting from dividing the image into sub-images and using high level discrete wavelet transform (DWT). In addition, the Huffman code with non-uniform Quantizer has been used to minimize the compression data rate with high quality reconstructed image. The promising simulation results of the proposed method achieved the most two significant criteria which are denoted by high image quality and a high image compressed ratio. For instance, the proposed strategy simulation results of Lena image achieved PSNR equals to 42.4094 dB with a compression ratio (CR) equals to 47.5435. Moreover, the simulation results of Flower image accomplished PSNR equals to 42.8348 dB with a compression ratio equals to 55.3389 under the same simulation conditions.

When it comes to drawing 3D shapes, we do not get any easier than the Google Sketch Up program. The most important part of 3D drawing, especially in the field of architecture, is the ease of using the program, the ability to turn the idea into virtual reality, the Google sketch program Up, provides a user-friendly service that is not required for a powerful computer, and we all know that AutoCAD is one of the most powerful 3D drawing programs (if not the most powerful) but the difficulty of using it and the time it takes to learn has led most engineers to resort to the easiest program. indispensable but Google sketch programs gave up solutions faster and many choices in final directing. The study examined the problem of the use of the AutoCAD program and the suffering of the drawing teachers in understanding and using it. In contrast, it showed the advantages of the program, and compared it to the AutoCAD program, and presented a questionnaire by the researcher on a sample of the teachers of the engineering drawing in the degrading schools. program AutoCAD, and therefore, this program does not result in the expected purpose of it, so it became necessary to find an alternative at least to use it as a display of sculptures by engineering drawing teacher, and this alternative is a program Cockle Google sketch up.

This paper presents compact dual-band band-pass filters (BPFs) using microstrip transmission lines (TLs) loaded with metallic via holes (MVHs). The primary goals of the proposed design are to get size reduction and dual-band frequency response. An end-coupled line dual-band BPF with better size reduction has been obtained using MVHs as a single negative (SNG) metamaterial (MTM) component to achieve negative relative permittivity (ɛ r ). This component is adequate for designing dual-band BPFs to operate at 4.1 GHz and 6 GHz resonant frequencies. To the best knowledge of the authors of this work, “Dual-” band BPF based on MVH has not been experienced yet by any other work in the literature. The filters structure length is as small as one third of wavelength. The filters have been designed with a fractional bandwidth (δ) that exceeds 10% at the resonant frequencies. Numerical observations of the microstrip TL and end-coupled BPFs designs have all been discussed. Simulations were done by HFSS software and implemented on the substrate Roger RO3210 with dielectric constant of 10.8 and dielectric substrate height of 1.27 mm. These filters are convenient for most common microwave applications.
