Reserarch question: the paper investigates the influence of football clubs investments on their performancen the first division of the Brazilian league. Motivation: Considering football as the most important sport in Brazil, representing a cultural symbol of the country, understanding it better becomes necessary. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the financial amounts involved in the management actions to try to understand the influence of the investments that the clubs make about the marketing and championships improvement and, thus, to be able to delineate the relation between investment and success in Football. Idea: In this perspective, the central hypothesis of this study is that the clubs that present the highest expenditures on soccer will also present the best classifications, since these expenses are related to better training conditions and salaries, which may contribute to the recruitment of the best athletes. Data: The study was conducted with data collected over the internet, using data provided by clubs. Only the clubs belonging to the first division were used, being a total of 19 clubs, divided into 3 groups, according to the investment value in Football. Tools: This study presents descriptive and inferential analyzes, since the qualitative-quantitative approach was assumed as a way of understanding the data. Assuming the number of clubs participating in the study, we chose non-parametric inferential analyzes in the intra- and inter-group evaluations, using the alpha value of 0.05 as criterion. Findings: The results showed that clubs in groups G1 and G2 had similar expenditures dynamics, while G3 group clubs had a slight swing. In addition, clubs in groups G1 and G2 had the largest amount of expenditures, while G3 clubs had the lowest expenditure during the period analyzed. These results demonstrated that the clubs of the G1 and G2 groups achieved the best positions in the championships, corroborating the research hypothesis. Contribution: One can conclude that the investment of the clubs directly influences the classification in the championships, being necessary great investment to conquer the championship. However, this study has some limitations, such as sample size (19 teams only). Therefore, we emphasize the need for new studies.

Designed to impose and lead athletes to comply with the rules of the game during a match, referees are pressured from all sides, because unlike players, a single mistake can be costly. Therefore, the present study aims to organize contents about the psychological skills necessary for the good performance of the Football referee, proposing strategies to improve the psychological skills of the football referees. Thus, this study is characterized as a descriptive-purpose bibliographic study. In the content organization, it was observed that the psychological preparation should be part of the preparation of the same, as well as the physical preparation, that is, the referee should be well physically and psychologically, presenting psychological qualities that help him to face all the negative psychological demands that a football match can cause. In addition, the physical preparation will contribute to the good performance of the referee, since he/she can position himself /herself adequately to observe the bid, reducing doubts about what has occurred and, consequently, reducing the psychological burden in decision making. Thus, it is concluded that psychological skills, if worked properly, only favor the work of the football referee, leading to success.

Neste trabalho, estudaram-se as produções de ácido láctico e de biomassa de Lactobacillus plantarum CCT 0580 utilizando diferentes fontes de carbono: glicose (GLIC), melaço de cana-de-açúcar (MEL) e meio Man, Rogosa e Sharpe (MRS), como controle. Com base nos resultados dos processos fermentativos, foram realizadas análises de custos de produção, utilizando a técnica de orçamentação parcial (OP), para comparar os custos operacionais efetivos encontrados na produção, em escala laboratorial. Os resultados mostraram a máxima concentração de ácido láctico em 72 h: MRS 12,60 ± 0,42 g.L-1, MEL 6,50 ± 0,21 g.L-1 e GLIC 0,90 ± 0,00 g.L-1. Para as concentrações de biomassa úmida de L. plantarum CCT 0580, os resultados máximos foram: MRS 16,90 ± 3,54 g.L-1 (48 h), MEL 7,59 ± 0,66 g.L-1 (72 h) e GLIC 3,00 ± 0,85 g.L-1 (24 h). Os resultados econômicos encontrados na orçamentação parcial mostraram ser vantajosas as substituições de glicose e MRS por melaço para a produção de ácido láctico e de biomassa, independentemente do tempo de fermentação.

The mineral diesel oil sold in Brazil, due to environmental reasons; presents sulfur concentration of 10 ppm, which causes a deficiency of lubricity, since sulfur is one of the chemical species that gives a good lubricating characteristic. Poor lubricity affects performance and causes failure of engine parts. This study aimed to evaluate the use of glycerin as an antiwear additive by means of tribological tests of the mineral diesel S10 B7 and 10 formulations of diesel based fuels, microemulsified with 0% (distilled water), 7.5% and 15% of glycerin solution. The formulations were subjected to lubricity tests on HFRR (Hight Frequency Reciprocating Rig) under hydrodynamic lubrication conditions, according to the ASTM D-6079 standard. The results showed that the increased concentration of glycerin added to diesel S10 B7 contributes to improved lubricity and wear reduction.

A prática de atividades esportivas ocupa um espaço cada vez maior na vida das pessoas, em especial crianças e jovens. Tal prática, quando é devidamente planejada e elaborada, pode gerar inúmeros benefícios aos participantes, como aderência a prática esportiva. Nessa circunstância, o estudo tem por objetivo organizar conteúdos vinculados a Iniciação Esportiva e aos motivos que levam crianças a permanecerem as atividades esportivas, propondo condutas que o professor de Educação Física deve apresentar na Iniciação Esportiva, com olhares para a não Especialização Esportiva Precoce. O estudo caracteriza-se como um ponto de vista, baseado nos diferentes estudos revisados na literatura. A Iniciação Esportiva pode exercer grande influência em crianças e jovens. Esta possui diferentes métodos de ensino-aprendizagem, seu processo é dinâmico, e para realizá-lo é necessário planejamento, fazendo com que a prática seja uma atividade prazerosa. Frente aos motivos, um dos motivos que pode gerar o abandono esportivo é a Especialização Precoce. Outro ponto importante a se destacar é a motivação, a qual depende de fatores extrínsecos, como pais e pais e professores, por exemplo, e intrínsecos, como fazer novas amizades, divertir-se e praticar uma atividade que tem facilidade, por exemplo. Sendo assim, tais fatores influenciam a permanência de crianças e jovens no contexto esportivo. Nesse sentido, o preparo adequado do profissional de Educação Física deve apresentar estruturação profissional adequada, visando adaptar suas aulas ao público infanto-juvenil, de modo a respeitar as especificidades e particularidades de cada fase do desenvolvimento, bem como do interesse do grupo, promovendo aulas mais atraentes, objetivando satisfação dos praticantes. Além disso, a preparação também deve ser composta por características que façam o profissional ser capaz de atender todas as expectativas impostas na Iniciação Esportiva, respeitando, é claro, o processo de pluralidade das competências motoras que devem ser trabalhadas na Iniciação Esportiva. ABSTRACT. The permanence of children and young people in sports: looks for initiation and sports specialization. The practice of sports activities occupies an increasing space in the lives of people, especially children and young people. Such practice, when properly planned and elaborated, always respecting the human development process, can generate numerous benefits to participants, such as adherence to sports practice. In this circumstance, the study aims to organize contents linked to Initiation of Sport and to the reasons that lead children to remain in sports activities, proposing behaviors that the Physical Education teacher should present in the Initiation of Sports, with a view to non-Early Specialization. The study is characterized as descriptive-propositional bibliographical. Sports Initiation can have a great influence on children and young people. It has different teaching-learning methods, its process is dynamic, and in order to do it, planning is necessary, making the practice a pleasurable activity. Faced with the reasons, one of the reasons that can cause the abandonment sport is the Early Specialization. Another important point to emphasize is motivation, which depends on extrinsic factors, such as parents and parents and teachers, for example, and intrinsic ones, such as making new friends, having fun and practicing an activity that has ease, for example. Therefore, these factors influence the permanence of children and young people in the sports context. In this sense, the appropriate preparation of the Physical Education professional must present adequate professional structure, aiming to adapt their classes to the child and youth audience, in order to respect the specificities and particularities of each stage of development, as well as the interest of the group, promoting classes more attractive, aiming the satisfaction of the practitioners. In addition, the preparation should also be composed of characteristics that make the professional to be able to meet all the expectations imposed in the Initiation of Sport, respecting, of course, the process of plurality of motor skills that must be worked on in Initiation Sport.

Unlike university classrooms, academic support services provide students opportunities for enactive mastery of a skill with immediate feedback in a low-risk learning environment. Given that this environment likely alters affective states, this study tracked support-seekers' perception (n=107) of their anxiety and confidence before and after repeated 1 hour academic skill development sessions (n=384). Results showed that academic-support environment had a robust, immediate, and long-lasting effect on decreasing anxiety and increasing confidence. Positive outcomes such as reduced anxiety and increased confidence during an academic skill development session were associated with increased academic performance. There was a high rate of participants (98%) persisting into the next year of their program. Together this study demonstrates that the academic-support environment can provide intervention in the form of enhancing affective states in situations of high anxiety and low confidence to potentially affect academic outcomes and retention rates.

Randomly barcoded transposon mutant libraries are powerful tools for studying gene function and organization, assessing gene essentiality and pathways, discovering potential therapeutic targets, and understanding the physiology of gut bacteria and their interactions with the host. However, construction of high-quality libraries with uniform representation can be challenging. In this review, we survey various strategies for barcoded library construction, including transposition systems, methods of transposon delivery, optimal library size, and transconjugant selection schemes. We discuss the advantages and limitations of each approach, as well as factors to consider when selecting a strategy. In addition, we highlight experimental and computational advances in arraying condensed libraries from mutant pools. We focus on examples of successful library construction in gut bacteria and their application to gene function studies and drug discovery. Given the need for understanding gene function and organization in gut bacteria, we provide a comprehensive guide for researchers to construct randomly barcoded transposon mutant libraries.

Under the scenario of the fourth industrial revolution, the adoption of Industry 4.0 in the day-to-day business of small and medium enterprises (SME) entails expected challenges. Focusing primarily on more advanced levels of maturity, the existing maturity models are inadequate for assessing companies with low maturity levels, such as most of existing SMEs. A framework for a maturity model tailored to SMEs is proposed in this paper, allowing for a comprehensive and high granularity assessment of these companies’ maturity levels, which then eases their integration into this industrial revolution. The proposed holistic model considers all Industry 4.0 dimensions while being detailed enough in its initial levels to properly assess SMEs at the same time.

Currently, a number of disadvantages hampers the use of recycled concrete aggregates (RCA). The current review proves that concretes made with complete replacement of natural aggregate with RCA allow the production of high-quality concrete. One of the possibilities for improving concrete properties with RCA is the use of extended curing and pozzolanic materials with varying cement ratios. The potential use of RCA concretes is in the production of high-value materials that increase environmental and financial benefits. RCA have strong potential in the development of a new generation of concrete and stimulate economic activity in many countries in addition to optimizing natural resources. Economic benefits include minimal travel costs; cheaper sources of concrete than newly mined aggregates; reduction of the landfill area required for the placement of concrete waste; the use of RCA minimizes the need for gravel extraction, etc. The proposed strategy could be to sequentially separate demolition waste such as roof finishes, waterproof materials, interior and exterior materials, etc. Closing life cycles is the main approach used for efficient structures for the recycling and reuse of construction and demolition waste in the production and recovery of materials, especially when recycling and reusing materials. In the life cycle, the recycling of recovered materials allows them to be used for new construction purposes, avoiding the use of natural concrete aggregates. Government, design institutes, construction departments and project managers should be involved in the creation and use of RCA. In demolition and construction, the main players are the project owners. Their obligations, expectations and responsibilities must be properly aligned. For the past 20 years, recycled concrete aggregate from demolition and construction waste has been considered as an alternative to pure concrete in structural concrete to minimize the environmental impact of construction waste and demolition waste and the conversion of natural aggregate resources. It is now recognized that the use of RCA for the generations of concrete is a promising and very attractive technology for reducing the environmental impact of the construction sector and conserving natural resources. In the market, the selling price is not an obstacle for market applications of RCA, as there are scenarios in which their cost is lower than the cost of products made from conventional building materials. This is more of an acceptance factor in the market for recycled concrete aggregates. In this sector, the lack of identification, accreditation and uniform quality certification systems and their narrow application cause some marketing problems. With proper RCA preparation, concrete with standard physical and mechanical properties and performance characteristics can be obtained.

This study assesses the relationships among net margin (ML), profitability (LUC), and return (RENT), as well as several technical and economic indices that determine the ML, LUC and RENT land-use change, and economic return of milk production systems. We estimate and analyze the property-size, zootechnical, and economic indices of 20 milk production systems located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2011. We also conduct a descriptive analysis of the variables studied, as well as a multiple linear regression analysis among the estimated indices (independent variables) and the net margin, profitability, and return (dependent variables). The statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 20.0. The items that most influenced net margin were milk production by labor, total revenue, energy and protein commercial concentrates, and the ratio of labor costs to total operating costs. Then, profitability was most influenced by animal productivity per day, fixed value by lactation matrix (value immobilized in the activity divided by the number of lactating matrices), milk revenue, and the representativeness of energy concentrates. Economic returns were most influenced by the number of males available for sale, as well as by animal productivity per day and the value of assets on land per hectare. These findings show that management and technological efforts are required to reduce production costs. In addition, animal productivity needs to be increased because it is has the highest positive relationship with profitability.

A elaboração de um zoneamento para o setor agrário é de suma importância para a expansão da produção agrícola, e consequente cultivo de matérias primas, a fim de fomentar o expansível mercado consumidor. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar a análise da aptidão agrícola do município de Santa Lúcia – SP, com a utilização de Sistemas de Informação Geográficas no intuito de definir as áreas potenciais para o desenvolvimento de tais atividades. A integração das informações de declividade, pedologia e uso e cobertura da terra ocorreu através do software Arcgis 10.3. Por meio da lógica Fuzzy gerou-se classes equiparativas dos dados analisados, resultando no mapa de aptidão agrícola da área de estudo que propôs as melhores áreas para o desenvolvimento de atividades agrícolas. O mapa de aptidão agrícola do município de Santa Lúcia – SP permitiu analisar que grande parte de sua extensão territorial possui uma aptidão agrícola alta e média. Os locais que possuem restrições legais ou que possuem baixa aptidão para plantio devem receber um reordenamento de seus usos do solo, destinando-se para o desenvolvimento áreas de recuperação ambiental. ABSTRACT The elaboration of a zoning for the agrarian sector is of paramount importance for the expansion of the agricultural production, and consequent cultivation of raw materials, in order to foment the expandable consumer market. The objective of this work was to analyze the agricultural aptitude of the municipality of Santa Lúcia - SP, with the use of Geographic Information Systems in order to define the potential areas for the development of such activities. The integration of slope, pedology, and land use and coverage information was achieved through Arcgis 10.3 software. Through Fuzzy Logic, were generated classes of the analyzed data, resulting in the map of agricultural aptitude of the study area that proposed the best areas for the development of agricultural activities. The map of agricultural aptitude of the municipality of Santa Lucía - SP allowed to analyze that great part of its territorial extension has a high and average agricultural aptitude. Locations that have legal restrictions or that have low planting ability should receive a rearrangement of their land uses, earmarked for the development of environmental recovery areas. This study assesses the effects of technical and managerial indexes on the cost-effectiveness of 20 demonstration units (DUs) that participated in the “Full Bucket” (“Balde Cheio”) program, at different stages of production, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, from January to December 2011. Here, cost-effectiveness was assessed by considering gross margin, net margin, result (financial profit or loss), cost-effectiveness, and profitability as indicators of financial efficiency. Data were analyzed using PASW 18.0. A multiple linear regression model was used with the stepwise method to identify the managerial, technical, and other indexes that most affected profitability and cost-effectiveness. The production systems were categorized into three production levels: small (nine DUs), medium (nine DUs), or large (two DUs). The managerial and technical indexes differed according to the stages of production under study. The daily milk production for the three categories were below 151 kg, 151 to 400 kg, and above 400 kg, respectively. The best profitability and cost-effectiveness at the large production level resulted from selling livestock. This level showed greater animal/day productivity (kg of milk), the best cows/farm manpower ratio, and the best number of herd animals/farm manpower ratio, whereas the medium level showed a lower fixed cost/total cost relation. The small production level showed the best percentages of lactating cows, cows in the herd, and lactating cows in the herd, as well as the best productivity/ha/year and lactating cows/ha. However, the latter results were not sufficient to generate a profit, owing to the small scale of production.

Introdução: A psicologia do esporte deve-se atentar à questão dos jovens atletas, já que esta faixa etária apresenta grande importância para o futuro, quer este esportivo ou não, pois os jovens estão em desenvolvimento e tais intervenções possibilitam a formação do indivíduo em sua totalidade. Objetivo: Relatar a experiência vivenciada em um Projeto Social de futsal, elencando os problemas verificados, relacionados à psicologia do esporte, bem como as estratégias propostas. Métodos: Foi utilizado o relato de experiência de um projeto social para atletas de futsal. Por meio das observações verificadas e anotadas, foram propostas estratégias, havendo relato das mesmas, bem como sua eficácia ou não. Resultados: Foi observado que os jovens apresentavam uma atitude agressiva negativa por meio de brigas e discussões durante os treinos e competições. Foram identificados os líderes do grupo e estabelecida uma comunicação com os mesmos, especialmente em relação ao feedback. Toda essa questão levou em consideração o contexto social e, assim, foi trabalhada a questão da coesão, especialmente a social. Todo este processo resultou em melhorias na questão da agressividade inicialmente mencionada. Conclusão: Foram verificadas que as estratégias aqui adotadas tiveram resultados positivos, porém ressalta-se a importância da consideração do contexto, analisando a especificidade e a individualidade de cada caso, o que possibilita a adoção de estratégias eficientes. Background: Sport psychology should pay attention to the issue of young athletes, as this age group has great importance to the future, whether in sport or not, because young people are in development and such interventions enable the formation of the individual in its entirety. Objective: Report the experience of a Social Futsal Project, listing the problems related to sports psychology, as well as the proposed strategies. Methods: Experience report was used as the research method. Observations of a social project for futsal athletes were verified and recorded. Strategies were proposed and evaluated regarding their effectiveness. Results: It was observed that young people showed a negative aggressive attitude through fights and discussions during training and competitions. Group leaders were identified and communication was established with them, especially regarding feedback. This whole issue took into account the social context and thus the question of cohesion, especially the social one, was worked out. This whole process resulted in improvements in the aggressiveness issue initially mentioned. Conclusion: It was verified that the strategies adopted had positive results, but we emphasized the importance of considering the context, analyzing the specificity and individuality of each case, which enables the adoption of efficient strategies.

O objetivo foi investigar a coesão em atletas de futebol júnior. Foram analisados 162 atletas que participaram da Copa São Paulo. Para avaliar a coesão foi utilizado o Questionário de Ambiente de Grupo (QAG). Na análise estatística exploratória foram realizadas análises de estatísticas descritivas, análise multivariada de variância (MANOVA) e ANOVA para medidas repetidas ambas com post hoc teste de Bonferroni. Os resultados apontaram para níveis de coesão acima da média esperada tanto na dimensão “envolvimento pessoal” quanto “para a equipe” e a maior incidência de resultados importantes estatisticamente foram encontrados na comparação entre as posições de jogo. Parece ser possível indicar que as diferenças entre os níveis de coesão estão mais presentes quando analisamos a posição de jogo do que para idade, escolaridade e tempo de prática. Portanto, está mais centrada nas dinâmicas relacionais de grupo do que em características individuais dos atletas.

O número de equipamentos digitais vem aumentando aceleradamente, principalmente por necessidades de diagnósticos precisos em mamografia. Entretanto, os equipamentos são cada vez mais sofisticados e complexos, o que nos levam a pensar sobre a habilidade do profissional na definição dos parâmetros técnicos. Contudo, a participação do profissional não se resume só no posicionamento e acolhimento dos pacientes. Este estudo analisou as doses de entrada na pele em exames de mamografia frente os parâmetros técnicos automáticos utilizados. Foram analisados os procedimentos de 1279 pacientes de um único hospital, com um único equipamento para evitar diferenciações nos parâmetros. O mamógrafo utilizado possibilita várias combinações, desde variações no alvo-filtro a técnicas automáticas que calculam a dose final. Foi estudada apenas a incidência craniocaudal. Comparando as técnicas e as doses recebidas observamos que a combinação alvo-filtro varia de acordo com a espessura da mama, sendo fundamental na dose. Analisando regiões limites, em 40 mm para a combinação Mo/Mo a dose média de entrada na pele foi de 5,21 mGy, enquanto que para a combinação Mo/Rh as médias foram de 4,54 mGy, uma redução de 13%. Para espessuras de 45 mm a combinação Mo/Rh apresentou dose média de 5,46 mGy enquanto que em Rh/Rh a média foi de 4,75 mGy, redução de 13%. Assim, observa-se que técnicas automáticas em regiões limites de alvo-filtro deve ser melhor trabalhada por parte dos profissionais de forma a priorizar a dose sem prejudicar a resposta na imagem radiográfica.

Açaí (Euterpe oleracea) is a Brazilian typical fruit that is enveloped by natural fibers. This work investigated the effect of incorporating ground açaí fibers (in natura and chemically treated with NaOH and HCl) in 5–10 wt.% replacement of Portland cement on the rheology, hydration, and microstructure of pastes. Rotational rheometry, isothermal calorimetry, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) were performed to evaluate the cement pastes, in addition to SEM-EDS, FTIR, zeta potential, and XRD for fiber characterization. The results showed that the chemical treatment reduced the cellulose and lignin contents in açaí fibers while increasing its surface roughness. The addition of 5% of either fiber slightly increased the yield stress and viscosity of paste, while 10% addition drastically increased these properties, reaching yield stress and viscosity values respectively 40 and 8 times higher than those of plain paste. The incorporation of 5% in natura fibers delayed the cement hydration by about 2.5 days while 10% in natura fibers delayed it by over 160 h. The chemical treatment significantly reduced this retarding effect, leading to a 3 h delay when 5% treated fibers were incorporated. Overall, the combined NaOH/HCl treatment was effective for açaí fibers functionalization and these fibers can be used in cementitious composites.

The identification of cancer stem cells (CSCs), which are implicated in tumor initiation, progression, therapy resistance, and relapse, is of great biological and clinical relevance. In glioblastoma (GBM), this is still a challenge, as no single marker is able to universally identify populations of GBM cancer stem cells (GSCs). Indeed, there is still controversy on whether biomarker-expressing cells fulfill the functional criteria of bona fide GSCs, despite being widely used. Here, we describe a novel subpopulation of autofluorescent (Fluo+) cells in GBM that bear all the functional characteristics of GSCs, including higher capacity to grow as neurospheres, long-term self-renewal ability, increased expression of stem cell markers, and enhanced in vivo tumorigenicity. Mechanistically, the autofluorescent phenotype is largely due to the intracellular accumulation of riboflavin, mediated by the ABC transporter ABCG2. In summary, our work identifies an intrinsic cellular autofluorescent phenotype enriched in GBM cells with functional stem cells features that can be used as a novel, simple and reliable biomarker to target these highly malignant tumors, with implications for GBM biological and clinical research.
