Prior to the global health crisis, Taytay, Rizal, Philippines is vulnerable to the different natural disasters and calamities. With this, the researchers see the value of investigating disaster risk reduction management being practiced by the local government unit through the lens of academic leaders. With this, a descriptive research design was implored to gather and substantiate the organizational effectiveness with the research niche. The 100 respondents were selected through purposive and snow-ball sampling who academic leaders from the various educational institutions within the municipality of Taytay, Rizal, Philippines. Based on the findings, it shows that the local government unit of Taytay, Rizal has manifested an effective organizational approach in the implementation of the disaster risk reduction management as perceived by the academic leaders. Aim: This study protocol aims to examine the effectiveness and preconditions of a self‐management program—named REducing Delay through edUcation on eXacerbations (REDUX)—in China. Background: The high disease burden in people with chronic lung disease is mainly due to exacerbations. There is a need for effective exacerbation‐management interventions. A nurse‐led program, REDUX, helped patients self‐manage exacerbations. Design: A single‐arm pre‐post study. Methods: Fifty‐four patients and 24 healthcare professionals (HCPs) in Chinese primary care will be included. The core element of the program is a personalized action plan. HCPs will receive training in using the action plan to help patients manage exacerbations. The intervention will start when a patient is referred to the nurse for a post‐exacerbation consultation and ends when the patient presents for the second post‐exacerbation consultation. During the first post‐exacerbation consultation, the patient and nurse will create the action plan. The primary outcomes in patients will include the delays between the onset of exacerbation and recognition, between exacerbation recognition and action, between exacerbation recognition and consultation with a doctor, and when the patients feel better after receiving medical help from HCPs. The secondary outcomes will include preconditions of the program. The ethics approval was obtained in September 2021. Discussion This study will discuss a culturally adapted nurse‐led self‐management intervention for people with chronic lung disease in China. The intervention could help Chinese HCPs provide efficient care and reduce their workload. Furthermore, it will inform future research on tailoring nurse‐led self‐management interventions in different contexts. Impact The study will contribute to the evidence on the effectiveness and preconditions of REDUX in China. If effective, the result will assist the nursing of people with chronic lung disease. This paper examines the present situation of class teachers in primary schools and the possible strategies that school leaders can employ to promote teachers' wellbeing. An explanatory sequential mixed methods research design was used. The first phase involved distributing two online surveys, one for class teachers and one for SLT members, in seven Maltese primary schools. The data from the questionnaires were integrated and analysed to formulate the interview questions held with Heads of Schools (primary). Findings revealed that the support from school leaders is essential to enhance teachers' welfare and that strategies including an open-door policy, shared decision-making, teambuilding activities, and the enforcement of curriculum time help sustain a wholeschool approach toward teachers' wellbeing. Following the research findings, the last section of this article concludes the study by tying it to practice and presenting an action plan that school leaders can use. This research also presents the ideas of this action plan in a user-friendly website1 aimed at giving the right tools to school leaders to bring about the change needed in the lives of educators. The aim of this research is to provide an example of how English language teaching practices can be arranged according to the layered flipped learning model. One of the qualitative research methods, the "action research" method, was used in this study. The research was conducted with fifth grade students in a secondary school in the Western Black Sea region of Turkey in the 2017/2018 academic year. In order to increase the validity of the data and enrich the meaningfulness of the results, data diversification was made. In this research, content analysis method was used to analyze and interpret the data. As a result of the research, it was observed that layered flipped learning model meets the interests and needs of the students and leaves the responsibility of learning to the students. Also it was observed that students preferred tasks for group work and this contributed to the fun of the lesson, to more effective learning, and to increased levels of active participation, motivation. Based on the results reached at the end of the research, it was thought that activities in the teaching process should be layered and each level should be preparatory to the other. Based on theoretical model (COSO ERM), I developed a tool that companies can use to correctly identify the risks they were exposed to, to prevent operational crises in due time, as there is no such a tool publicly available for companies to use. The objective was to offer a solution for all kind of organizations for the problem of correctly identifying and mitigating operational risk exposure, to consolidate their position and be able to prevent organizational crises. This is particularly important as it seems that a “permanentizing of crises” has occurred in the business environment. Compared to the other tools existing in the field of risk management, available to the public use, the mathematical algorithm is offering specific instructions for the managers to use, not just theoretical guidelines. Also, the tool offers a unique feature of being able to be applied for any kind of business organization, from any kind of business field, due to its capacity to adapt to the specificities of every enterprise. Meanwhile, while it seems to be very practical, it is based on a right theoretical framework, supported by the complexity theory.

This article analyses the response of Lithuanian local authorities to the first wave of COVID-19 with a special focus on the economic support measures they took. The main goal of this in-depth study is to compare the economic response measures included in the action plans of Riga and Tallinn, two large Lithuanian municipal administrations, as well as to analyse the narrative developed in the two cities. The methodology of this research is based on the review of literature, the analysis of action plans, and a case study. The Vilnius and Klaipėda city municipalities adopted action plans to support residents and businesses. Although there are many measures the plans have in common, they differ in the context and scope of application. Municipalities are willing to grant exemptions from various fees and taxes. They have used innovative measures: Vilnius allowed the opening of outdoor cafes, the practice, which was observed by global media. According to the research findings, the actions of municipal authorities can be successful, as municipalities are closer to the residents and can respond to their needs and those of entrepreneurs more quickly and flexibly. The approval of COVID-19 management action plans by municipalities has contributed to the narrative of recovery and hope.

To build on the success of wastewater surveillance during the COVID-19 pandemic, jurisdictions funded under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Wastewater Surveillance System are looking to expand their wastewater programs to detect more pathogens. However, many public health agencies do not know how to use the collected wastewater data to formulate public health responses, underscoring a need for guidance. To address this knowledge gap, the Houston Health Department (HHD) developed a novel response framework that outlines an internal action plan that is tailored by pathogen type after detection of various pathogens in wastewater.In July 2023, HHD met with subject matter experts (eg, bureau chiefs, program managers) in internal departments, including epidemiology, immunization, and health education, to discuss the general outline of the response framework and each department’s anticipated role after pathogen detection.The internal framework established a flow for notifications and the actions to be taken by departments in HHD, with the goals of (1) ensuring timely and efficient responses to pathogen detections, (2) creating accountability within departments for taking their assigned actions, and (3) making certain that HHD was prepared for intervention implementation when a new pathogen was detected.As more public health agencies expand their wastewater surveillance programs to target additional pathogens, development of internal action plans tailored to departmental capacity and programs is an important step for public health agencies. Covid-19 is referred to as a "syndemic," i.e., the consequences of the disease are exacerbated by social and economic disparity. Poor housing, unstable work conditions, caste, class, race and gender based inequities and low incomes have a profound effect on mental health and wellbeing. Such disparities are increasing between, among and within countries and are exacerbated by human rights violations, in institution and in society, stigma and discrimination. Social capital can mediate health outcomes, through trust and reciprocity, political participation, and by mental health service systems, which can be coercive or more open to demand of emancipation and freedom. Societal inequalities affect especially vulnerable groups, and Covid itself had a wider impact on the most socially vulnerable and marginalized populations, suffering for structural discrimination and violence. There are complex relations among these social processes and domains, and mental health inequalities and disparity. Participation and engagement of citizens and community organizations is now required in order to achieve a radical transformation in mental health. A Local and Global Action Plan has been launched recently, by a coalition of organizations representing people with lived experience of mental health care; who use services; family members, mental health professionals, policy makers and researchers, such as the International Mental Health Collaborating Network, the World Federation for Mental Health, the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation, the Global Alliance of Mental Illness Advocacy Networks (GAMIAN), The Mental Health Resource Hub in Chennai, India, The Movement for Global Mental Health (MGMH) and others. The Action Plan addresses the need for fundamental change by focusing on social determinants and achieving equity in mental health care. Equally the need for the politics of wellbeing has to be embedded in a system that places mental health within development and social justice paradigm, enhancing core human capabilities and contrasting discriminatory practices. These targets are for people and organizations to adopt locally within their communities and services, and also to indicate possible innovative solutions to Politics. Pollution is one of the main environmental problems in Cuba. Untreated or undertreated oily waste discharges have been caused negative environmental impacts. The objective was to contribute, with a process approach and Cleaner Production strategies, to reduce pollution from oily wastesfrom a fuel marketing enterprise.A procedure based in process approach integrated with the eight steps for problem solving, together with other specific methodologies and tools for technical studies, were implemented. A characterization of the wastewater disposed, and the environmental quality of the receiving bodies (surface water, groundwater and soil) was carried out. The operations and management of oily waste were identified as potentially impacting environmental aspects on the environmental contamination of the receiving bodies. In the processes Fuel Reception, Storage and Supply; Maintenance; Transport; as well as Measurement, Analysis and Improvement were identified the opportunities to minimize a pollution at source, and to reduce the consumption of inputs and raw materials. Likewise, improvements in the engineering design and/or construction of treatment systems, organs, interconnections, and networks; as well as improvements in operation and maintenance practices were identified. A corrective measures plan has been implemented, with technical-organisational and engineering solutions, taking into account Cleaner Production options, to minimize the generation of pollution at source. Depression is a common diagnosis among adolescents. Routine screening for depression is recommended, yet standardization in screening and management is lacking. A care gap exists due to long wait times for referrals to counseling and other specialized care. Use of a written action plan demonstrated positive effects as an initial management tactic of elevated screening scores. A take-home action plan was provided to adolescents with elevated Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) scores. Approximately 30 days after initiation, participants completed a post-intervention survey and a re-administration of the PHQ-9. Pre-intervention and post-intervention PHQ-9 scores were compared, showing a statistically significant decrease in PHQ-9 score (p =.008), with a median decrease of 4.5 points. Additionally, 92% of participants were somewhat likely or very likely to endorse the use of the action plan to a peer or friend. Asthma is a common chronic medical condition that can require treatment with multiple inhaled medications. Our quality improvement group established a standard asthma teaching protocol with respiratory therapists utilizing the teach back method. We aimed to increase the percentage of pulmonary asthma clinic visits receiving this education from a baseline of 42.7% in 2016 to 80% by December 2019. Multiple interventions were put in place and data was collected monthly from the electronic medical record system. Data was recorded in statistical process control charts using a p chart. Nelson's established rules for determining special versus common cause variation were used. Over the three-year project the percentage of asthma clinic visits receiving the standardized respiratory therapist driven teach back asthma education increased to 82.3%. Utilizing a standardized approach, it's possible to deliver standardized asthma education in a busy pulmonary clinic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Scientific and technological innovation plays key supporting and leading roles to achieve "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goals (referred to as "dual carbon"). It is necessary to make sustained efforts in the three aspects, namely energy structure adjustment, energy consumption, and carbon sequestration, and build a novel multi-energy-integrated energy production and utilization system based on hydrogen energy, energy storage, and methanol, in which the main lines are clean and efficient utilization of fossil energy, large-scale utilization and complementation of clean energy, low-carbon reconstruction of industrial processes, and intelligent multi-energy integration of building and transportation. In 2022, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has launched the scientific and technological action plan to support dual carbon goals. By implementing eight major actions including strategic research, cross-innovation of basic frontiers, breakthroughs in key technologies, comprehensive demonstration of new technologies and other scientific and technological innovation, deploying talent team building, international cooperation, improvement of innovation system capabilities, and popular science and dissemination actions, the action plan is to provide vigorous scientific and technological support for China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. The strategic prioritization in policy synergies heterogeneous stakeholders and opportunities that facilitates developing nations to game for betterment of society in limited resources. The strategic prioritization methodology was presented to frame long and short-term actions with available resources. The theme is to develop inherently de-carbonize economies with minimum spending, efforts, adopting best practices, exploit regional potential, optimize asset efficiency, recycling/reuse, technology and innovation, etc. However, trickle down global climate change regulations require level of awareness for regional energy dynamics, politics, bureaucratic structure, training and education, infrastructural weaknesses, financial barriers, etc. Several conflicting, non-measurable and inconsistency in policies destroy efforts towards net carbon zero and hindering de-carbonizing objectives in the developing world. No doubt, societal factors and their interest's influences political systems engaged in energy transition policymaking, implementation and enforcement. Therefore, it's time to organize energy transition efforts/planning in a way that it has minimum financial impact and keep developing economies on momentum. The article highlights sustainable policy instruments, initiatives, best practices, opportunities, innovation areas and identify stating steps those will inherently lead climate change ambitious targets of de-carburization in developing economies with minimum financial investment. Growing urbanization and the related demand for resources together with the climate change appear to be among the factors responsible for the intensified frequency and severity of disasters worldwide. At the same time, urbanization is related not only with the increasing flow of inhabitants to the big cities but also with an increase in the number of pet ownership in seeking social, psychological and health benefits. But when a disaster strikes, companion animals are affected as much as humans. Their survival depends on the preliminary preparedness of their guardians for disaster response and recovery. For this purpose, the present study investigated the level of disaster preparedness among 335 pet owners in Bulgaria through an anonymous written questionnaire. The results showed that 64.86% of the participants in the survey were women, 52.24% of all respondents were 19-24 years old and 75.45% were keeping pets at the moment of filling in the survey. The study found that 87.16% of the respondents were well-informed about the likelihood of disaster hazards in their residential area. Pet owners were prepared to approach the relevant public health authorities (89.55% of them), respectively the animal health services (82.88%) in case of emergency. Only 36.72% of all pet keepers had a prepared disaster family plan, with another 28.96% of the respondents having developed a disaster pet action plan for their animal companions. If emergency evacuation is needed, more than 66% of the respondents would take their pets with them during relocation. Anaphylaxis is defined as an acute, life-threatening, systemic allergic reaction associated with a broad array of clinical manifestations. Anaphylaxis typically is a type 1 (IgE mediated) hypersensitivity reaction though other mechanism may also be involved. Patients most commonly present with cutaneous symptoms followed by respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms. Prompt recognition and treatment can be life saving. Epinephrine is the drug of choice for treatment of anaphylaxis. It is imperative that patients and their caregivers are educated on the use of epinephrine autoinjectors and provided with an emergency action plan for managing anaphylaxis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Henan Province is a major province of population, agriculture, industry and energy consumption in China, and its implementation of carbon neutrality strategy is of great significance for promoting green, low-carbon and high-quality development of regional economy and facilitating the realization of China's carbon-neutrality vision in 2060. But for a long time, the single energy structure dominated by coal has led to several key issues in Henan Province such as a large carbon emission base level, a tough situation of ecological management, continuously increasing level of dependence on external energy and the poor development degree of renewable energy. Hence, the present energy supply and demand structure, carbon dioxide emission and forest carbon sink in Henan Province were firstly analyzed in detail and seven major action plans were then proposed under the direction of carbon neutrality. Further analyses and forecasts of carbon emission from key industries and realization paths of carbon neutrality in Henan Province were conducted under multi-scenario conceptions for energy development. The following research results were obtained. 1) The implementation of carbon neutrality strategy in Henan Province is mainly constrained by the resource endowment that is rich in coal but lacking in oil and gas, and relatively high proportions of energy-intensive enterprises and the secondary industry. 2) Both energy revolution and economic restructuring should be emphasized. On the one hand, it is essential to vigorously promote the reduction, substitution and clean utilization of coal, development of new energy resources including wind, solar and biomass energy, energy storage techniques, and enhancement of forest carbon sink by optimizing the forest structure. On the other hand, new industries with high-tech and high-value should be introduced, accompanied by appropriate evacuation of some traditional industries with high energy consumption and high emission such as metal smelting and nonmetal mineral products so as to improve the electrification level of industrial and residential energy terminals. 3) Based on multi- scenario conceptions for energy development, namely the established policy (conservative scenario), energy transition (reference scenario) and radical replacement (extreme scenario), it is predicted that Henan Province will achieve carbon neutrality around 2077, 2056 and 2050, respectively. 4) To fully realize China's carbon-neutrality vision, key provinces and industries should be encouraged to carry out pilot reforms, explore innovate technology, make good use of local strengths, and develop localized low-carbon models with respective unique characteristics. India–Southeast Asia defence cooperation has not been highlighted much, primarily to not give out wrong signals about India's power projection outlook. With India steadfastly maintaining that it is a benign nation and not a revisionist power, engagement in the defence domain with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has been attempted in five ways. The first includes India's engagement in ASEAN defence mechanisms, such as ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) Plus; and the participation of ASEAN nations in the Milan series of biennial meetings and Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS). The second dimension is India's legitimate interest in the security of the Malacca Strait as a funnel state. The third dimension is developing synergies between the defence industries in Southeast Asia with the Indian defence industrial complex. The fourth angle of engagement is India's position as the net security provider in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The fifth critical aspect is developing maritime cooperative mechanism and developing a counter to the Chinese "string of pearls" strategy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The last peace mediation of the European Economic Community through European Political Cooperation, as well as the operationalization of the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy on 1 Novemeber 1993 in the territory of the former Yugoslavia will be reflected through the Action Plan. (Juppѐ-Kinkel Plan). Such final independent attempt by the EEC/EU to establish and build peace through peace mediation will have its stronghold in legal sources. The effects of peace mediation through the Action Plan will reflect the content and reach of legal sources and resulting mechanisms from the same sources. The failure of the Action Plan will give a new dimension to the CFSP's foreign policy action to establish and build peace among the conflicting parties through peace mediation. Accordingly, as the subject of research in this paper, the author will draw a parallel between 1993 and 2020 from a legal and historical perspective and through comparative, historical and method of analysis, and show whether, after almost three decades, since the last EEC/EU independent peace mediation effort for establishing and building peace in the former Yugoslavia, the EU, despite its desire to be a global factor in establishing and achieving peace in the world in accordance with the content and scope of the Treaty of Lisbon and other legal sources, is able to establish and build peace among the conflicting parties.

Universities are centers of knowledge and their Campuses are like small cities, thus making them the ideal place to develop, apply and evaluate policies and tools for innovative mobility solutions that can subsequently be extended to other contexts. A review of mobility measures in different European Universities has revealed that many of them apply policies to promote sustainable mobility, but there is a significant lack of standardized mobility plans and roadmaps for their successful implementation. The objective of the present work is to develop a successful roadmap, which is necessary for the smooth implementation of a mobility plan, as it has been found through a thorough review of good practices in Universities. Within this framework, a customizable standardized Roadmap design is proposed, which consists of two documents: a tactical document that provides a global and sequential vision of the entire plan, and an operational document that details the actions for each strategic line. This roadmap is accompanied by a catalog of objectives, measures, and cost and impact indicators. We consider this design instructive for universities because of its universal characteristics in Emerging Countries. To ensure this, it is necessary to apply this roadmap and carry out the corresponding evaluation.

Tahu Sumedang merupakan salah satu industri yang paling strategis dan prioritas di Kabupaten Sumedang berdasarkan rencana pembangunan jangka menengah wilayah dan sektor industri. Saat ini ada beberapa masalah strategis industri tahu sumedang seperti bahan dasar tahu Sumedang adalah kedelai yang diimpor dari AS, sehingga tidak menyerap produk pertanian lokal serta adanya Rencana pembangunan jalan tol Cisumdawu yang melewati Kabupaten Sumedang membuat orang hanya melewati kota tanpa mengunjungi kota. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan sumber daya lokal berdasarkan isu-isu strategis di desa-desa yang memproduksi tahu sumedang melalui identifikasi rencana aksi untuk pengembangan sumber daya industri tahu sumedang. Untuk menganalisis data, menggunakan dua metode analisis seperti analisis sub sistem dan analisis linkage system. Hasil akhir adalah untuk mengidentifikasi rencana aksi untuk rencana pengembangan industri tahu sumedang yang mencakup rencana pengembangan produk, rencana sistem keterkaitan, dan rencana peningkatan kualitas produk.

Tigers play a crucial role in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Unfortunately, tigers are threatened by poaching, human–wildlife conflict, habitat loss, and more. In response to these threats, the conservation community pledged to double the worldwide wild tiger population by 2022 (known as TX2) at the “Tiger Summit” in St. Petersburg in 2010, and to track the progress of Tiger Range Countries. Between 2010 and 2022, the Global Tiger Recovery Programme was implemented. To accomplish this TX2 goal, each Tiger Range Country developed a National Tiger Action Plan (NTAP). The Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP) is a grant-making mechanism that focusses on a subsection of the Global Tiger Recovery Programme. It had twelve projects in six Tiger Range Countries during Phase 1 of the program. Evaluating the proposals of these projects is crucial for resource allocation. In this study, we assessed project proposals by evaluating how the proposed activities of all twelve ITHCP projects addressed their corresponding NTAPs, by comparing the plans against the proposals. A further comparison was undertaken using the Conservation Assured|Tiger Standards Lite, a site-based tiger conservation accreditation system. Overall, this study shows the importance of both global and national action plans and how comparing project activities with NTAP requirements can help address resource allocation needs to fill gaps in management. We conclude that projects should be designed to closely align with national action plans, best practice standards, and the activities of other projects in their landscape to maximize conservation outputs and impact. However, projects on their own are not enough to satisfy whole NTAPs.

Homelessness in psychiatric patients in Flanders, Belgium, has never been investigated. Advocacy groups from patients with lived experience of psychiatric disorders have sounded the alarm on the scarcity of suitable housing options, the strain on psychiatric institutions, and the challenges faced by social service workers. To investigate the extent of the problem a survey on the topic was initiated. A "homelessness-in-mental-health-questionnaire" was designed by experts in the field. The social services of all Flemish psychiatric hospitals and all psychiatric wards in general hospitals were contacted and invited to complete this survey. 24 of 70 contacted services responded. The total number of homeless patients in the inpatient setting on an annual basis are estimated to an average 19.5%. 18% of homeless patients remain longer in admission due to the lack of housing options. 13.7% of homeless psychiatric patients are referred to a community care facility such as an assisted living facility. Social service respondents reported spending an average of 27.4% of their work time on housing issues. The main focus points according to the respondents are the lack of priority measures for homeless psychiatric patients, psychiatric problems as a barrier to housing options and the shortage of adapted housing capacity. The conclusion of this study is the need for comprehensive policy interventions to ensure an adequate supply of suitable social housing for psychiatric patients, accessible mental health care, alternative housing options and crisis accommodation facilities. To achieve a behavioral goal, we often need to maintain an internal action plan against external interruption and thereafter retrieve the action plan. We recently found that the maintenance and updating of motor plans are reflected by reciprocal changes in the beta and gamma power of the local field potential (LFP) of the primate medial motor areas. In particular, the maintenance of the immediate motor plan is supported by enhanced beta oscillations. However, it is unclear how the brain manages to maintain and retrieve the internal action plan against interruptions. Here, we show that dynamic theta changes contribute to the maintenance of the action plan. Specifically, the power of the theta frequency band (4–10 Hz) of LFPs increased before and during the interruption in the dorsal premotor areas in two monkeys. Without theta enhancement before the interruption, retrieval of the internal action plan was impaired. Theta and beta oscillations showed distinct changes depending on the behavioral context. Our results demonstrate that immediate and suspended motor plans are supported by the beta and theta oscillatory components of LFPs. Motor cortical theta oscillations may contribute to bridging motor plans across behavioral interruptions in a prospective manner. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

At the level of European leadership in Brussels, it has been developed, based on preserving and affirming the European culture and civilisation, the idea of creating the conceptual and actional premises for "Europe ad integrum" to represent a "maritime force". In this context, the Integrated Maritime Policy is a comprehensive approach to all European Union maritime and related policies. Basically, the Integrated Maritime Policy is the European Union's response to develop the sustainable implementation of maritime governance, a concept in which maritime security plays a key role. This paper deals with the principles of maritime policies formulated at European Union level, which, in conjunction with the provisions of the European Union Maritime Security Strategy and Action Plan, form the European concept of maritime governance and security. The multidimensional framework to the study of consciousness, which comes as an alternative to a single sliding scale model, offers a set of experimental paradigms for investigating dimensions of animal consciousness, acknowledging the compelling urge for a novel approach. One of these dimensions investigates whether non-human animals can flexibly and spontaneously plan for a future event, and for future desires, without relying on reinforcement learning. This is a critical question since different intentional structures for action in non-human animals are described as served by different neural mechanisms underpinning the capacity to represent temporal properties. And a lack of appreciation of this variety of intentional structures and neural correlates has led many experts to doubt that animals have access to temporal reasoning and to not recognize temporality as a mark of consciousness, and as a psychological resource for their life. With respect to this, there is a significant body of ethological evidence for planning abilities in non-human animals, too often overlooked, and that instead should be taken into serious account. This could contribute to assigning consciousness profiles, across and within species, that should be tailored according to an implemented and expansive use of the multidimensional framework. The 2020 Sustainability Index (SI), a benchmark system, shows that 2% of the 184 municipal water and wastewater utilities (WWS) in Sweden have a good performance level (green), i.e., they meet all benchmark requirements for the “climate adaptation and flood safety” (“CA and FS”). In this study, ten Swedish WWS organizations were selected and studied in depth. The goal was to present them as good learning examples to inspire other utilities seeking to improve their results and to clarify and concretize the driving factors, strategies, and important explanations for their success, and the challenges they face. A total of 52 SI annual documents from ten utilities were analyzed. Six of their managers were interviewed in depth. One of the ten utilities studied was green on the parameter “CA and FS”. Flooding events in two utilities drove climate adaptation. The formation of an interdisciplinary group in two organizations had a major impact on their success. Two utilities focused on low-lying sites and enclosed spaces. Three believed capacity building increased their chances of success. The biggest challenge was sharing responsibility. That only 2% of municipal water and wastewater utilities are green is not the whole truth. Therefore, there should be other factors in SI that measure performance in “CA and FS”. To improve the results, new laws are needed to solve the problem of shared responsibility.

In 2020, the world was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which remains a major challenge for most countries today. In Brazil, football clubs' youth academies have faced a disruption of their regular activities. In order to study how the learning cultures of a Brazilian professional football club youth academy have been changed, and the alternatives created by the club's staff within this context, this perspective article aims to analyze how they have structured the Under-15 (U15) team learning culture during social isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through document and thematic analysis on a Brazilian professional football club's youth academy program, we promoted a dialogue between the process of adaptation to remote theoretical-tactical teaching with the learning theory proposed by Hodkinson and collaborators. The main theme of analysis of this study was the remote structure of the theoretical-tactical learning and physical training. Challenged with the need to transpose face-to-face activities into a learning culture based on remote communication, the U15 team coaching staff created a process to prescribe physical training, and to teach and discuss football tactical issues with young players during the period of social isolation. This perspective article shows that it is possible for sports institutions to create programs for the development of young athletes within the social isolation/distancing context, considering both theoretical-tactical learning and physical training processes. The adaptation to remote environments as structures for the learning culture seems a challenge, but is also a good alternative for young players to develop their interpretation and perception of football theoretical-tactical issues.

During cassava processing and obtaining its derivatives, the occurrence of critical factors that can compromise the quality and safety of the food is observed. Thus, the objective was to carry out the hygienic-sanitary diagnosis of a flour mill and propose improvements through the elaboration of an action plan. For this, the Good Manufacturing Practices checklist was applied, with modifications, and the sanitary panorama was elaborated through the adequacy percentage calculation. The action plan was prepared with recommendations for improvements to the establishment. Based on the checklist, the project was classified in group 3, as it presented 22.03% of compliance with the items. Block 5 (documentation) and block 3 (manipulators) had the lowest levels of compliance. The action plan elaborated mainly includes modifications related to the infrastructure of the production site, training of handlers and documentation of the project. Thus, the implementation of the suggested improvements and adoption of Good Manufacturing Practices during the processing of cassava flour will promote adequate conditions for manufacturing, providing a quality product and, therefore, safe for consumption. The objective of this research was to evaluate the work environment and how it affects productivity, specifically in the case of the company Unión Soluciones S.A.S, dedicated to consulting and development of administrative, financial and human resources software. The company has a total of 56 collaborators, who were participants in the study. For the method, a quantitative approach was applied with a descriptive scope, a survey was used as an instrument which was previously developed, validated and applied, as the main result it is evidence that the work environment in the company is "healthy" according to the scale However, it is necessary to focus on improving the professional career factor, since it was the factor that presented the lowest result in terms of the perception of its collaborators. Individuals with heart failure (HF) have difficulty evaluating their symptoms, understanding when to seek health care, and implementing self‐care activities. The purpose of this qualitative study was to inform the development of a heart failure action plan (HFAP) for individuals living with HF. This study used a prospective, descriptive qualitative design with a content analysis approach. The HFAP included clinical indicators of self‐reported symptoms, adherence to medication regimen, and physiologic changes. Patients with HF reviewed the HFAP and provided their perceptions to assist in developing the action plan. Participants had a mean age of 65 years, predominately male (78%) and African American (89%). Comorbidities included hypertension, atrial fibrillation, chronic kidney disease, ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, and diabetes mellitus. Five thematic categories emerged: (1) Understanding of symptoms and symptom severity, (2) management of symptoms, (3) educational opportunities, (4) changes, and (5) satisfaction. Participants suggested adding content about exercise, diet, additional symptom management, and a compact portable HFAP. Participants provided their perceptions of the HFAP. Their feedback was instrumental in modifying the action plan for use in a broader HF patient population to assist patients in self‐management, including the understanding of when to seek health care. An educational environmental strategy was implemented for the environmental training of the professionals in the Unit of Protected Crops of Campo Antena, Santiago de Cuba. To the agricultural professionals was applied a diagnosis that made evident limitations in the environmental treatment and affectations in the acting of the agricultural works in the professional tasks. The application of the Educational Strategy spread out actions that permitted the formation-constructions of environmental knowledge and the transformations in the professionals, in a process of environmental formation in agricultural practices, with an inclusive and systematizing character, in order to achieve solutions to the environmental problems originated in the managerial organization. BackgroundWe compared two implementation approaches for a health literacy diabetes intervention designed for community health centers.MethodsA quasi-experimental, clinic-randomized evaluation was conducted at six community health centers from rural, suburban, and urban locations in Missouri between August 2008 and January 2010. In all, 486 adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus participated. Clinics were set up to implement either: 1) a clinic-based approach that involved practice re-design to routinely provide brief diabetes education and counseling services, set action-plans, and perform follow-up without additional financial resources [CARVE-IN]; or 2) an outsourced approach where clinics referred patients to a telephone-based diabetes educator for the same services [CARVE-OUT]. The fidelity of each intervention was determined by the number of contacts with patients, self-report of services received, and patient satisfaction. The problem of developing the tax potential of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation is crucial in the context of the country’s socio-economic instability. This instability results in the limited opportunities for the regional budgets to get financial support from the Federation. Combining the best practices of developing the tax potential with new author’s approaches and recommendations has allowed identifying the main ways to improve the fiscal policy of regional authorities. The article describes the opportunities and directions for further development of the tax potential of the Russian Federation entities in order to increase the level of their fiscal capacity. In particular, I focused on analysing the measures aimed at the extension of the existing tax base and improvement of the region’s investment climate for attracting potential taxpayers. The research methods include empirical and statistical research, synthesis of practical and theoretical materials, formal logic. I performed data processing and information systematization by applying cluster method, classification, comparative, logical and econometric analysis. In the context of the existing regional legislation, I identified the opportunities for the mobilization of tax revenues. A separate section is devoted to the implementation of the stimulating tax incentives and development of the integrated approach to its efficiency assessment. As for the prospects of improving the constituent entities’ investment attractiveness, the paper analyses opportunities and potential results for applying tax credit and differentiated tax rates. Moreover, the article examines the creation of funds for producing the import-substituting goods on the region’s territory. Based on the results of analysing the best regional practices in taxation and legislative framework of 85 entities of the Russian Federation, I developed proposals aimed at the development of the economy’s priority sectors. Particularly, they focus on attracting investments through establishing new models and forms of the state support of innovative and investment activities. Such proposals are especially relevant for the regions characterised by a low level of fiscal capacity and unbalanced budgets.
