101. A Lake Record of Geomagnetic Secular Variations for the Last 23 ka From Lake Chala : Toward a Composite Directional Lake Record of the Earth's Magnetic Field for Equatorial East Africa

Abstract

The documentation and understanding of variations in the Earth's magnetic field through time is fundamental for several disciplines, but current geomagnetic models rely on datasets heavily biased toward the mid‐ and high northern latitudes. The African continent and surrounding islands and oceans are particularly underrepresented. Here, we present a new record of paleo‐secular variation (PSV) of the inclinations over the last 23 ka from Lake Chala, situated at 3°S near Mt Kilimanjaro in eastern equatorial Africa. This groundwater‐fed crater lake is characterized by a high sedimentation rate (ca. 1 cm/10 years) and a particularly well‐constrained age model based on 210Pb and 14C dating. The magnetic mineralogy of the sediments is tested with rock magnetic analyses. The Lake Chala inclination record shows four highs and lows over 20 ka and compares well with that of Lake Malawi (10°S) between 20 and 16.2 ka, and from 9.8 to 2.6 ka. This record is linked to PSV records at Lakes Victoria and Malawi using a sequence slotting technique to generate a composite PSV model for east Africa. Analyzed at best‐possible resolutions up to 200 years, the Lake Chala PSV record not only represents an important contribution to improve our understanding of local and global features of the Earth's magnetic field. It also expands the utility of paleomagnetism as a key tool for dating and correlation both for archeological sites throughout East Africa and the many volcanoes, active or dormant, of the East African Rift System.

Abstract

BackgroundTo date, there's no evidence of an increased risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection or more severe COVID-19 in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, whether COVID-19 alters the clinical course of IBD or whether IBD treatment affects the immunological response to SARS-CoV-2 is still under investigation, especially in children.AimTo assess the serological response to SARS-CoV-2 in children with IBD, and to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on the clinical course of IBD.Material and MethodsThis prospective study enrolled children (0–18 years) followed-up at the University Hospital of Padova for IBD, who acquired a confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection between 02.2020 and 02.2021. The anti-SARS-CoV-2 S-RBD IgG titer was evaluated at 3 months after infection and compared to that of a control group of healthy children matched for age, sex, and COVID-19 severity.ResultsTwelve children with IBD (M = 5; median age 14 years) contracted COVID-19 during the study period. 11/12 patients were under immunomodulatory treatment (4/12 steroids; 6/12 azathioprine; 3/12 anti-TNFs; 2 vedolizumab; 1 ustekinumab). SARS-CoV-2 infection remained asymptomatic in 4/12 children and caused mild COVID-19 in the remaining 8. Mean anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG S-RBD titer was similar between IBD patients and controls (27.3 ± 43.8 vs. 36.8 ± 35.3 kAU/L, p = ns). No children experienced IBD flares nor required gastroenterological support during the infection period.DiscussionChildren with IBD can mount a protective humoral response against SARS-CoV-2, which is comparable to that of their healthy peers regardless of ongoing immunomodulatory treatment. This study also supports the favorable course of PIBD during COVID-19 and vice-versa.

Abstract

We construct a Technicolor model which provides masses for the electroweak gauge bosons and for all the Standard Model matter fields. Starting from an ultraviolet complete supersymmetric technicolor, we propose a scenario where all elementary scalars, gauginos, and higgsinos are decoupled at an energy scale substantially higher than the electroweak scale, therefore avoiding the little hierarchy problem of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The resulting low energy theory has an SU(3) global symmetry whose breaking to SO(3) leads to electroweak symmetry breaking. We study in detail the phenomenology of this theory and demonstrate that it reproduces the present LHC data at the same level of precision as the Standard Model itself., Comment: 31 pages, 3 figures

Abstract

We consider the implications of current LHC data on new physics with strongly interacting sector(s). We parametrize the relevant interaction Lagrangian and study the best fit values in light of current data. These are then considered within a simple framework of bosonic technicolor. We consider first the effective Lagrangian containing only spin-0 composites of the underlying theory, which corresponds to a two Higgs doublet model. With respect to this baseline, the effects of the vector bosons, a staple in strong interacting theories, are illustrated by considering two cases: first, the case where the effects of the vector bosons arise only through their mixing with the electroweak SU(2)_L gauge fields and, second, the case where also a direct interaction term with neutral scalars exists. We find that the case of a W' coupling to the Higgs boson only via the mixing of vector fields produces a negligible improvement in the fit of the present data, while even a small direct coupling of the composite vector fields to the Higgs allows the tested model to fit optimally the experimental results., Comment: 26 pages, 5 figures. Abstract

Near conformal dynamics is employed in different extensions of the standard model of particle interactions as well as in cosmology. Many of its interesting properties are either conjectured or determined using model computations. We introduce a relevant four dimensional gauge theory template allowing us to investigate such dynamics perturbatively. The gauge theory we consider is quantum chromodynamics with the addition of a meson-like scalar degree of freedom as well as an adjoint Weyl fermion. At the two-loop level, and in the Veneziano limit, we firmly establish the existence of several fixed points of which one is all directions stable in the infrared. An interesting feature of the model is that this fixed point is lost, within the perturbatively trustable regime, by merging with another fixed point when varying the number of quark flavors. We show the emergence of the Miransky scaling and determine its properties. We are also able to determine the walking region of the theory which turns out to be, at large number of colors, about 12% of the conformal window. Furthermore, we determine highly relevant quantities for near conformal dynamics such as the anomalous dimension of the fermion masses., Comment: 17 pages, 8 figures

Abstract

We provide a complete extension of Minimal Walking Technicolor able to account for the standard model fermion masses. The model is supersymmetric at energies greater or equal to the technicolor compositeness scale. We integrate out, at the supersymmetry breaking scale, the elementary Higgses. We use the resulting four-fermion operators to derive the low energy effective theory. We then determine the associated tree-level vacuum and low energy spectrum properties. Furthermore we investigate the phenomenological viability of the model by comparing its predictions with electroweak precision tests and experimental bounds on the mass spectrum. We then turn to the composite Higgs phenomenology at the LHC and show that current data are already constraining the parameter space of the model., Comment: 43 pages, 13 figures. Abstract

We provide a pedagogical introduction to extensions of the Standard Model in which the Higgs is composite. These extensions are known as models of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking or, in brief, Technicolor. Material covered includes: motivations for Technicolor, the construction of underlying gauge theories leading to minimal models of Technicolor, the comparison with electroweak precision data, the low energy effective theory, the spectrum of the states common to most of the Technicolor models, the decays of the composite particles and the experimental signals at the Large Hadron Collider. The level of the presentation is aimed at readers familiar with the Standard Model but who have little or no prior exposure to Technicolor. Several extensions of the Standard Model featuring a composite Higgs can be reduced to the effective Lagrangian introduced in the text. We establish the relevant experimental benchmarks for Vanilla, Running, Walking, and Custodial Technicolor, and a natural fourth family of leptons, by laying out the framework to discover these models at the Large Hadron Collider., Comment: LaTeX, 102 pages. Abstract

BackgroundThe immune response plays a pivotal role in dictating the clinical outcome in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-infected adults, but it is still poorly investigated in the pediatric population.MethodsOf 209 enrolled subjects, 155 patients were confirmed by PCR and/or serology as having coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Blood samples were obtained at a median of 2.8 (interquartile, 2.1–3.7) and 6.1 (5.3–7.2) months after baseline (symptom onset and/or first positive virus detection). The immune profiles of activation, senescence, exhaustion, and regulatory cells were analyzed by flow cytometry. Neutralizing antibodies (nAbs) were detected by a plaque reduction neutralization test. In available nasopharyngeal swabs at baseline, SARS-CoV-2 levels were quantified by digital droplet PCR (ddPCR).ResultsOverall, COVID-19 patients had higher levels of immune activation, exhaustion, and regulatory cells compared to non-COVID-19 subjects. Within the COVID-19 group, activated and senescent cells were higher in adults than in children and inversely correlated with the nAbs levels. Conversely, Tregs and Bregs regulatory cells were higher in COVID-19 children compared to adults and positively correlated with nAbs. Higher immune activation still persisted in adults after 6 months of infection, while children maintained higher levels of regulatory cells. SARS-CoV-2 levels did not differ among age classes.ConclusionsAdults displayed higher immune activation and lower production of anti-SARS-CoV-2 nAbs than children. The different immune response was not related to different viral load. The higher expression of regulatory cells in children may contribute to reduce the immune activation, thus leading to a greater specific response against the virus.

Abstract

We investigate a perturbative N=4 sector coupled to the MSSM and show that it allows for a stable vacuum correctly breaking the electroweak symmetry. The particle spectrum of the MSSM is enrichened by several new particles stemming out from the new N=4 sector of the theory, and a new lepton doublet required to cancel global and gauge anomalies of the theory. Even if the conformal invariance of the N=4 sector is explicitly broken, a nontrivial UV behavior of the coupling constants is possible: by studying the renormalization group equations at two loops we find that the Yukawa couplings of the heavy fermionic states flow to a common fixed point at a scale of a few TeVs. The parameter space of the new theory is reduced imposing naturalness of the couplings and soft supersymmetry breaking masses, perturbativity of the model at the EW scale as well as phenomenological constraints. Abstract

We extend the results of [arXiv:1006.0207 [hep-lat]] by computing the S-parameter at two loops in the perturbative region of the conformal window. Consistently using the expression for the location of the infra-red fixed point at the two-loop order we express the S-parameter in terms of the number of flavors, colors and matter representation. We show that S, normalized to the number of flavors, increases as we decrease the number of flavors. Our findings support the conjecture presented in [arXiv:1006.0207 [hep-lat]] according to which the normalized value of the S-parameter at the upper end of the conformal window constitutes the lower bound across the entire phase diagram for the given underlying asymptotically free gauge theory. We also show that the non-trivial dependence on the number of flavors merges naturally with the non-perturbative estimate of the S-parameter close to the lower end of the conformal window obtained using gauge duality [arXiv:1007.0254 [hep-ph]]. Abstract

The book is composed by six chapters that are divided into two main sections. The first section, entitled "Reflections on intellectual production in the academic environment" focuses Chapters 1 to 3. These first chapters discuss, respectively, some aspects related to ethics in research activities, the relationship between researchers and managers, the terminology and concepts that underlie the intellectual products, scientific or academic categorization and a method of evaluating the knowledge produced in academic environment. The second section, entitled "Scenarios on the intellectual production at State University of Londrina", is represented by Chapters 4, 5 and 6, which exposes the results of a research carried jointly by teachers and students at the Information Science Departament of UEL as part of the project "Management of UEL's Intellectual Production". A research project that started in 2007 and sought among other goals, to diagnose and raise the production of knowledge in some areas of the institution, expressed in different sources and information channels.

Abstract

We introduce novel extensions of the Standard Model featuring a supersymmetric technicolor sector. First we consider N=4 Super Yang-Mills which breaks to N=1 via the electroweak (EW) interactions and coupling to the MSSM. This is a well defined, economical and calculable extension of the SM involving the smallest number of fields. It constitutes an explicit example of a natural supersymmetric conformal extension of the Standard Model featuring a well defined connection to string theory. It allows to interpolate, depending on how we break the underlying supersymmetry, between unparticle physics and Minimal Walking Technicolor. As a second alternative we consider other N =1 extensions of the Minimal Walking Technicolor model. The new models allow all the standard model matter fields to acquire a mass., Comment: Improved version demonstrating that this extension is phenomenologically viable. No Landau pole exists in the theory to two loops level. This is the first theory showing that supersymmetry can solve the flavor problem when coupled to low energy technicolor

A fit to all precision electroweak data shows that the heavy partner of the top quark must be heavier than about 3.4 TeV, making it difficult to search for at LHC. This result demonstrates that electroweak data strongly limits the amount by which the custodial symmetry of the top-quark mass generating sector can be enhanced relative to the standard model. Using an effective field theory calculation, we illustrate how the leading contributions to alpha T, alpha S and the Zbb coupling in this model arise from an effective operator coupling right-handed top-quarks to the Z-boson, and how the effects on these observables are correlated. We contrast this toy model with extra-dimensional models in which the extended custodial symmetry is invoked to control the size of additional contributions to alpha T and the Zbb coupling, while leaving the standard model contributions essentially unchanged., Comment: 19 pages, 11 eps figures. Abstract

Introduction: COVID-19 features changed with the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 in adults. This study aims to describe COVID-19 symptoms in children and adolescents during the Parental, Delta, and Omicron eras Methods: A single-centre, prospective observational study was conducted on individuals aged 0–20 years attending the University Hospital of Padua (Italy) from April 2020 to December 2022. COVID-19 cases were defined by positive SARS-CoV-2 molecular detection and/or serology; patient/family symptoms and virological positivity were considered to determine the infection onset. Variables were summarized and compared using appropriate tests of descriptive statistics Results: A total of 509 cases [46% female, median age eight years (IQR: 4–12)] were studied. Three-hundred-eighty-seven (76%), 52 (10%), and 70 (14%) subjects experienced COVID-19 during the Parental, Delta, and Omicron waves, respectively. All subjects developed an asymptomatic/mild COVID-19. Overall, the most frequent symptoms were fever (47%) and rhinitis (21%), which showed a significant increasing incidence from the Parental to Omicron waves (p < 0.001). Conversely, diarrhea was most common during the pre-Omicron eras (p = 0.03). Stratifying symptoms according to the age group, fever, rhinitis, and skin rashes were observed more frequently among infants/toddlers; conversely, fatigue was more common in children older than five years. The duration of symptoms was similar across different SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOCs); conversely, the number of symptoms varied according to the age group (p < 0.0001) Discussion: This study showed differences in COVID-19 clinical presentation among infants, children, and adolescents and confirmed Omicron infection is more likely to be associated with upper respiratory symptoms. Abstract

Carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase (CACT) is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial carrier that catalyzes the transfer of long-chain fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membrane for β-oxidation. In this study, we conducted a structural and functional characterization of the CACT promoter to investigate the molecular mechanism underlying the transcriptional regulation of the CACT gene by n-3 PUFA, EPA and DHA. In hepatic BRL3A cells, EPA and DHA stimulate CACT mRNA and protein expression. Deletion promoter analysis using a luciferase reporter gene assay identified a n-3 PUFA response region extending from −202 to −29 bp. This region did not contain a response element for PPARα, a well-known PUFA-responsive nuclear receptor. Instead, bioinformatic analysis revealed two highly conserved GABP responsive elements within this region. Overexpression of GABPα and GABPβ subunits, but not PPARα, increased CACT promoter activity, more remarkably upon treatment with EPA and DHA. ChIP assays showed that n3-PUFA enhanced the binding of GABPα to the −202/−29 bp sequence. Furthermore, both EPA and DHA induced nuclear accumulation of GABPα. In conclusion, our findings indicate that the upregulation of CACT by n3-PUFA in hepatic cells is independent from PPARα and could be mediated by GABP activation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Although COVID-19 vaccine safety in 5–11-year-old children has been documented, half of Ontarian children this age remain unvaccinated. This study aimed to assess caregivers' vaccine acceptance for 5–11-year-old children and identify factors associated with vaccine non-acceptance. A multi-language self-administered survey was sent to caregivers of 5–11-year-old children through schools and community health centers within the Greater Toronto Area from April–July 2022. Sociodemographic characteristics and immunization behaviours were collected for caregivers, their 5–11-year-old children, and any older siblings. The primary outcome, COVID-19 vaccine acceptance, was previous uptake of COVID-19 vaccine or caregiver intent to vaccinate for their 5–11-year-old child. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multivariable logistic regression. In total, 807 caregivers were included in analysis. Although 93 % of caregivers had received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, 77 % had a 5–11-year-old child who received at least one dose of vaccine. Caregivers age was associated with vaccine acceptance (vs. < 40 years; adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 2.1, 95 % confidence interval [CI] 1.4–3.1 for ages 40–49; aOR 2.8, 95 % CI 1.1–7.1 for ages ≥50 years). Immunization factors associated with vaccine acceptance included caregiver COVID-19 vaccination (aOR 38.1 vs. unvaccinated caregivers; 95 % CI 15.8–92.3), older siblings COVID-19 vaccination (aOR 49.2 vs. unvaccinated siblings; 95 % CI 18.3–132.3), and recent influenza vaccination for the child (aOR 6.9 vs. no influenza vaccine; 95 % CI 4.6–10.5). Among 189 caregivers with unvaccinated 5–11-year-old children, the most common reasons for non-acceptance were concerns about long-term side effects (59 %), lack of experience vaccinating children (41 %), and concerns that vaccines were developed too quickly (39 %). Acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination for 5–11-year-old children were associated with caregiver vaccine behaviors and sociodemographic factors. Abstract

N-methylpyridinium (NMP) is produced through the pyrolysis of trigonelline during the coffee bean roasting process. Preliminary studies suggest that NMP may have health benefits, thanks to its antioxidant properties. Based on this background, the aim of this study was to evaluate whether NMP could have a protective effect against LPS-induced neuroinflammation in human glioblastoma cells (U87MG). With this aim, U87MG cells were pre-treated with NMP (0.5 μM) for 1 h and then exposed to LPS (1 μg/mL) for 24 h. Our findings show that NMP attenuates LPS-induced neuroinflammation by reducing the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-6, through the inhibition of the NF-κB signaling pathway, which is critical in regulating inflammatory responses. NMP is able to suppress the activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway, suggesting its potential in preventing neuroinflammatory conditions. These outcomes support the notion that regular consumption of NMP, possibly through coffee consumption, may offer protection against neuroinflammatory states implicated in neurological disorders. Abstract

In the increasing number of medical education topics taught with virtual reality (VR), the prehospital management of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) had not been considered. This article proposes an implemented VR system for STEMI training and introduces it in an institutional course addressed to emergency nurses and case manager (CM) doctors. The system comprises three different applications to, respectively, allow (a) the course instructor to control the conditions of the virtual patient, (b) the CM to communicate with the nurse in the virtual field and receive from him/her the patient's parameters and electrocardiogram, and (c) the nurse to interact with the patient in the immersive VR scenario. We enrolled 17 course participants to collect their perceptions and opinions through a semistructured interview. The thematic analysis showed the system was appreciated (n = 17) and described as engaging (n = 4), challenging (n = 5), useful to improve self-confidence (n = 4), innovative (n = 5), and promising for training courses (n = 10). Realism was also appreciated (n = 13), although with some drawbacks (e.g., oversimplification; n = 5). Overall, participants described the course as an opportunity to share opinions (n = 8) and highlight issues (n = 4) and found it useful for novices (n = 5) and, as a refresh, for experienced personnel (n = 6). Some participants suggested improvements in the scenarios' type (n = 5) and variability (n = 5). Although most participants did not report usage difficulties with the VR system (n = 13), many described the need to get familiar with it (n = 13) and the specific gestures it requires (n = 10). Abstract

We revisit an extension of the MSSM by adding a hypercharge-neutral, SU(2)-triplet chiral superfield. Similar to the NMSSM, the triplet gives an additional contribution to the quartic coupling in the Higgs potential, and the mass of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson can be greater than tne mass of the Z-bosn at tree-level. In addition to discussing the perturbativity, fine-tuning, and decoupling issues of this model, we compute the dominant 1-loop corrections to the mass of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson from the triplet sector. When the Higgs-Higgs-Triplet coupling in the superpotential is comparable to the top Yukawa coupling, we find that the Higgs mass can be as heavy as 140 GeV even without the traditional contributions from the top--s-top sector, and at the same time consistent with the precision electroweak constraints. At the expense of having Landau poles before the GUT scale, this opens up a previously forbidden region in the MSSM parameter space where both s-tops are light. In addition to having relatively small fine-tuning (about one part in 30), this leads to a gluo-philic Higgs boson whose production via gluon-gluon fusion at the LHC can be twice as large as the SM prediction., Comment: 26 pages, 19 figures. Abstract

We propose and discuss the phenomenology of a Topcolor-assisted Technicolor (TC2) model with a flavor-universal hypercharge sector. After discussing the symmetry breaking pattern and low-energy effective Lagrangian, we examine various experimental and theoretical constraints, finding that precision electroweak measurements yield the strongest bounds on the model. We perform a combined fit to all available $Z$-pole and LEP2 data and find that the goodness of fit for hypercharge-universal topcolor is comparable to that of the Standard Model. Abstract

Introduction: An early diagnosis of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a major gastrointestinal emergency in preterm newborns, is crucial to improve diagnostic approach and prognosis. We evaluated whether fecal high-mobility group box protein 1 (HMGB1) may early identify preterms at risk of developing NEC.Materials and Methods: A case-control study including neonates admitted at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Sapienza University Hospital “Umberto I” in Rome, from July 2015 to December 2016. Stool samples obtained from cases (preterm newborns with NEC) and controls (newborns without NEC) were collected at the enrolment (T0) and within 7–14 days after the first sample collection (T1). HMGB1, extracted and measured with western blot, was reported as densitometry units (DUS).Results: HMGB1 levels in 30 cases (n = 28—Bell stage 1, n = 2 Bell stage 2) were higher [T0: 21,462 DUS (95% CI, 16,370–26,553 DUS)—T1: 17,533 DUS (95% CI, 13,052–22,014 DUS)] than in 30 preterm controls [T0: 9,446 DUS (95% CI, 6,147–12,746 DUS)—T1: 9,261 DUS (95% CI, 5,126–13,396 DUS), p < 0.001). Preterm newborns showed significant higher levels of HMGB1 (15,690 DUS (95% CI, 11,929–19,451 DUS)] in comparison with 30 full-term neonates with birth weight >2,500 g [6,599 DUS (95% CI, 3,141–10,058 DUS), p = 0.003]. Multivariate analysis showed that the risk of NEC was significantly (p = 0.012) related to the HMGB1 fecal levels at T0.Conclusions: We suggest fecal HMGB1 as a reliable marker of early NEC in preterm neonates. This study supports further investigation on the role of fecal HMGB1 assessment in managing preterm newborns at risk of NEC. Further studies are advocated to evaluate diagnostic accuracy of this marker in more severe forms of the disease.

140. One Loop Corrections to the Rho Parameter in Higgsless Models

Abstract

A large class of deconstructed Higgsless model is known to satisfy the tree-level experimental bounds on the electroweak precision parameters. In particular, an approximate custodial symmetry insures that the tree-level $\rho$ parameter is exactly one, for arbitrary values of the model parameters, and regardless of fermion delocalization. In this note we expand on previous work by considering the fermionic one-loop contributions to $\rho$, which are essentially due to loops with top and bottom modes. We analyze the dependence on the number $N$ of internal SU(2) sites in models with a ``flat background''. We find that the new-physics contribution rapidly increases with $N$, to quickly stabilize for large values of $N$. Experimental upper bounds on $\rho$ translate into lower bounds on the mass of the heavy fermions. These, however, are weakly correlated to $N$, and the three-site model (N=1) turns out to be already an excellent approximation for the continuum model ($N\to\infty$)., Comment: 20 pages, 5 figures

Abstract

We analyze the spectrum and properties of a highly-deconstructed Higgsless model with only three sites. Such a model contains sufficient complexity to incorporate interesting physics issues related to fermion masses and electroweak observables, yet remains simple enough that it could be encoded in a Matrix Element Generator program for use with Monte Carlo simulations. The gauge sector of this model is equivalent to that of the BESS model; the new physics of interest here lies in the fermion sector. We analyze the form of the fermion Yukawa couplings required to produce the ideal fermion delocalization that causes tree-level precision electroweak corrections to vanish. We discuss the size of one-loop corrections to b \to s \gamma, the weak-isospin violating parameter \alpha T and the decay Z \to b \bar{b}. We find that the new fermiophobic vector states (the analogs of the gauge-boson KK modes in a continuum model) can be reasonably light, with a mass as low as 380 GeV, while the extra (approximately vectorial) quark and lepton states (the analogs of the fermion KK modes) must be heavier than 1.8 TeV., Comment: 30 pages, JHEP.cls, axodraw. Abstract

We compute the total cross section as well as angular and energy distributions for process $e^+e^-\to\gamma\gamma\gamma$ with both unpolarized and polarized beams in the framework of noncommutative quantum electrodynamics (NCQED). The calculation is performed in the center of mass of colliding electron and positron and is evaluated for energies and integrated luminosities appropriate to future linear colliders. We find that by using unpolarized beams it is possible to probe the Lorentz symmetry violating azimuthal dependence of the cross section. Furthermore, with polarized beams the left-right asymmetry of the CP violating NCQED amplitudes can be used to obtain bounds on the noncommutative scale $\Lambda_{NC}$ which exceed 1.0 TeV., Comment: version accepted by Physical Review
