113. A New Algorithm for Solving of Harmonic Balance Equations by Using the Model Order Reduction Method

The harmonic balance method (HB) is widely used for modeling nonlinear radio circuits in electronic CAD systems. The main problems of CAD algorithms and programs based on various modifications of HB methods are significant requirements for computer memory and huge computational costs when modeling complex circuits containing thousands of electronic components and hundreds of thousands of model equations. Methods of model order reduction have become popular in recent years, and can significantly reduce the dimension and memory required for electronic circuit models for dynamic mode analysis. The main problems of low-order methods for modeling electronic circuits are associated with very small reductions in computational costs (with a significant reduction in the dimension of the equations and the required memory for the model). A new method and algorithm of solving the equations of harmonic balance method used in electronic CAD systems is presented. The new algorithm is based on applying the ideas of model order reduction methods to harmonic balance equations. In comparison with previously developed method of usage the ideas of model order reduction for harmonic balance method, the new method replaces the vector (matrix) of equation unknowns by two matrices of small dimensions that are solved by iteratively (as into the standard harmonic balance method). The first system of equations reduces the number of harmonics in balance equations, and the second system of equations reduces the number of circuit nodes. These equations of small dimensions are solved sequentially, so this algorithm allows significantly reduce the size of computer memory for storing of model equations and reduce of computational costs. The simulation program was developed in the Matlab/Simulink system. The results of modeling test circuit with different number of electronic circuit nodes and the number of considered harmonics showed that the gain was obtained only for dimensions of problems more than one hundred (the number of nodes and the number of considered harmonics).

The paper considers open computing systems, which provide the necessary growth of performance and memory by mechanical addition of new units without affecting the existing software environment. Such computing systems are based on the application of a special functionally complete element base (planner, functor, communicator) that implements parallel processing using dataflow control flows when necessary program fragments are transferred along with the data. Aimed at this, when a certain procedure is found ready for starting (the planner is ready for all the data it needs), the corresponding part of the program is opened in the planner – the operator, which is then transferred along with the data to the free execution device – the functor. The result is always returned along the same route by which the procedure was activated. The layouts of the open systems using two units of design are considered: cells on the reduced element base, and servers assembled from these cells. A two-level distributed switching environment is used. At the cell level, it is provided by the transit properties of the planners and functors, and at the server level – by communicators that are part of the cells. Three types of cells are identified, which enable the growth of computing system functions: cells for increasing the number of gateways used to exchange with the external environment, cells for increasing control and working memory, cells for increasing performance. The recession of the concentrated switching environment allowed for these types of computing systems extensions to be performed independently and without any restrictions on their size. A three-dimensional structure of open systems is described, which can be used to build supercomputers.

in the context of optimizing the financial mechanisms of the national healthcare system, introducing the single-channel financial principle and further developing the insurance-based medicine in Russia, a competent financial accounting becomes an important element of the entire healthcare system.Aim – compare the economic effectiveness of various methods of closing a loop ileostomy.Materials and methods. The study included 327 patients randomized into 3 groups. in group 1, the closure of an ileostomy was performed manually with the formation of an end-to-end ileo-ileoastomosis; in group 2, the anastomosis was formed in the ”side by side” manner; and in group 3, a semi-automated surgical technique was used for the anastomosis formation.Results. The average cost of the treatments (per patient) in groups 1 and 2 was 131,704.90 rubles. and 145,473.70 rubles, respectively, while in group 3, the cost was higher – 167,443,60 rubles (p Conclusion. The formation of a manual ileoileoanastomosis of the end-to-end type was less budget-consuming in comparison with the other methods. The semi-automated procedure based on disposable parts was the most expensive method of closing a loop ileostomy.

The article is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of a prominent Russian epidemiologist and former rector of the Orenburg State Medical Institute, lieutenant colonel of the medical service of retired Anatoly Dmitrievich Shaikov. He left a bright trace in the history of naval medicine, having traveled from the ship doctor to the flagship epidemiologist of the 7th Pacific Navy. In the 1960s, under the direction of A.D.Shaikov, a pediatric faculty, a preparatory department, more than 10 new departments and 6 laboratories were created at the Orenburg Medical Institute; A.D.Shaikov made a significant contribution to the scientific development of the problems of military epidemiology, epidemiology of intestinal infections, parasitology, etc.

DIII-D research is addressing critical challenges in preparation for ITER and the next generation of fusion devices through focusing on plasma physics fundamentals that underpin key fusion goals, understanding the interaction of disparate core and boundary plasma physics, and developing integrated scenarios for achieving high performance fusion regimes. Fundamental investigations into fusion energy science find that anomalous dissipation of runaway electrons (RE) that arise following a disruption is likely due to interactions with RE-driven kinetic instabilities, some of which have been directly observed, opening a new avenue for RE energy dissipation using naturally excited waves. Dimensionless parameter scaling of intrinsic rotation and gyrokinetic simulations give a predicted ITER rotation profile with significant turbulence stabilization. Coherence imaging spectroscopy confirms near sonic flow throughout the divertor towards the target, which may account for the convection-dominated parallel heat flux. Core-boundary integration studies show that the small angle slot divertor achieves detachment at lower density and extends plasma cooling across the divertor target plate, which is essential for controlling heat flux and erosion. The Super H-mode regime has been extended to high plasma current (2.0 MA) and density to achieve very high pedestal pressures (~30 kPa) and stored energy (3.2 MJ) with H 98y2 ≈ 1.6–2.4. In scenario work, the ITER baseline Q = 10 scenario with zero injected torque is found to have a fusion gain metric independent of current between q 95 = 2.8–3.7, and a lower limit of pedestal rotation for RMP ELM suppression has been found. In the wide pedestal QH-mode regime that exhibits improved performance and no ELMs, the start-up counter torque has been eliminated so that the entire discharge uses ≈0 injected torque and the operating space is more ITER-relevant. Finally, the high- (⩽3.8) hybrid scenario has been extended to the high-density levels necessary for radiating divertor operation, achieving ~40% divertor heat flux reduction using either argon or neon with P tot up to 15 MW.

An optical scheme of an optical parametric oscillator with a master laser based on an Nd : KGW active element excited by two orthogonally oriented diode side pump modules is proposed to form radiation pulses with energies above 30 mJ and a repetition rate of 1 – 20 Hz in the eye-safe spectral range of 1.5 – 1.6 μm. The two-module excitation of the active medium makes the distribution of the master laser radiation intensity in the output beam cross section more uniform and provides a reliable operation of the optical parametric oscillator.

Tensor decomposition methods are widely used for solving high-dimensional and multi-dimensional problems. These approaches have a huge potential for reducing computational costs in the simulation of electronic circuits and in the CAD systems for electronics. Simulation of modern radio-frequency (RF) circuits, especially for RF integrated circuits, is one of the areas of extensive scientific research and development. The main problem of analysis methods for circuit design of RF electronics is the significant computational costs associated with the high dimensions to be solved. This paper shows that the computational costs of circuit design are largely determined by the costs of solving a system of linear algebraic equations (SLAE). The problems of the solving of SLAE are indicated in the paper. Further development of methods for solving and reducing computational costs requires the use of new approaches, one of which is proposed in this paper. The article presents the developed algorithm for converting a second-order matrix into a higher-order tensor. In this paper algorithms and software tools for tensor decompositions, as well as methods for solving SLAE in the representation of equations in tensor format are investigated. The results of numerical experiments and the results of comparison with traditional methods are presented.

143. A new algorithm of solving harmonic balance equations

The harmonic balance method is widely used for simulation of nonlinear radio circuits in electronic CAD systems. The main problems of algorithms and programs based on HB methods are significant requirements for computer memory and huge computational costs when simulate a complex circuits containing thousands of electronic components and hundreds of thousands of model equations. Methods of model order reduction have become popular in recent years and can significantly reduce the dimension and memory required for electronic circuit models for dynamic mode analysis. The main problems of low-order methods for simulation of electronic circuits are associated with very small reductions in computational costs (with a significant reduction in the dimension of the equations and the required memory for the model). A new method and algorithm of solving the equations of harmonic balance method used in electronic CAD systems is presented. The new algorithm is based on applying the ideas of model order reduction methods to harmonic balance equations. A new method replaces the vector (matrix) of equation unknowns by two matrices of small dimensions that are solved by iteratively (as into the standard harmonic balance method). The first system of equations reduces the number of harmonics in balance equations, and the second system of equations reduces the number of circuit nodes. These equations of small dimensions are solved sequentially, so this algorithm allows significantly reduce the size of computer memory for storing of model equations and reduce of computational costs. The simulation program was developed in the Matlab/Simulink system. The results of simulation test circuit with different number of electronic circuit nodes and the number of considered harmonics showed that the gain was obtained only for dimensions of problems more than one hundred (the number of nodes and the number of considered harmonics).

Epidemiology and prophylaxis of varicella in military units. Topical issues in military units varicella epidemiology and prevention, as one of the most important infections, potentially controlled by means of immunization. As a result of the retrospective epidemiological analysis of the incidence of varicella personnel- in one of the military districts found that the risk category for the disease are conscripts from the young recruits. The main riskfactors for introduction and spread of the infection: violation of statutory requirements to placement and life conditions of young recruits, delays in army of observation in epidemic outbreaks of varicella. The connection of the skid in a military collective agents of varicella with disabilities in the diagnostic work of the medical service and the organization of sanitary and anti-epidemic regime in. infectious wards of military hospitals. The possibilities of improving the selective immunization against varicella soldiers of the young recruits.

Simulations and laboratory tests are used to design and optimize a quasi-optical system for cross-polarization scattering (CPS) measurements of magnetic turbulence on the DIII-D tokamak. The CPS technique uses a process where magnetic turbulence scatters electromagnetic radiation into the perpendicular polarization enabling a local measurement of the perturbing magnetic fluctuations. This is a challenging measurement that addresses the contribution of magnetic turbulence to anomalous thermal transport in fusion research relevant plasmas. The goal of the new quasi-optical design is to demonstrate the full spatial and wavenumber capabilities of the CPS diagnostic. The approach used consists of independently controlled and in vacuo aiming systems for the probe and scattered beams (55-75 GHz).

Sequential courses of anticancer target therapy lead to selection of drug-resistant cells, which results in continuous decrease of clinical response. Here we present a new approach for predicting effective combinations of target drugs, which act in a synergistic manner. Synergistic combinations of drugs may prevent or postpone acquired resistance, thus increasing treatment efficiency. We cultured human ovarian carcinoma SKOV-3 and neuroblastoma NGP-127 cancer cell lines in the presence of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors (Pazopanib, Sorafenib, and Sunitinib) and Rapalogues (Temsirolimus and Everolimus) for four months and obtained cell lines demonstrating increased drug resistance. We investigated gene expression profiles of intact and resistant cells by microarrays and analyzed alterations in 378 cancer-related signaling pathways using the bioinformatical platform Oncobox. This revealed numerous pathways linked with development of drug resistant phenotypes. Our approach is based on targeting proteins involved in as many as possible signaling pathways upregulated in resistant cells. We tested 13 combinations of drugs and/or selective inhibitors predicted by Oncobox and 10 random combinations. Synergy scores for Oncobox predictions were significantly higher than for randomly selected drug combinations. Thus, the proposed approach significantly outperforms random selection of drugs and can be adopted to enhance discovery of new synergistic combinations of anticancer target drugs.
