The experiments, combining laboratory analysis and field experiments, were conducted to study soil enzyme activity, the number of soil microorganism and potato yield under the different film-covering modes (the ridge mulched by film, ridge culture mulched by film, harrowed bedding planting with film mulching and traditional planting) and to identify the best film-covering mode of the tillage potato in southern Ningxia rained agricultural regions. The results showed that the film-covering modes could increase soil enzyme activity, number of soil microorganism and potato yield. The number of microorganisms under different film-covering modes were in the same changing trends: actinomycetes >bacteria >fungus; The soil enzyme activity had changing trends: urinary enzyme >invertase >catalase. The trend was basically the same in soil enzyme activity and the number of soil microorganism which revealed their positive correlation; The actinomycetes, urinary enzyme, catalase were significantly positively correlated with potato yield. So we could conclude that film-covering modes increased soil biochemistry reaction, and the ridge culture mulched by film was most favorable to the growth of soil microbial of potato, the improvement of soil enzyme activities and the increase of potato yield in rained agriculture regions.
