101. A Case Study of Women’s Career Progression for Becoming Principals of Tokyo Metropolitan High Schools : A Comparison with Men

本研究の目的は,都立高校の女性校長におけるキャリア形成過程を検討することである。先行調査からは近年の女性躍進の動きにかかわらず,中等教育学校段階で女性管理職数が少ないことが判明した。本研究では女性校長2名,男性校長2名の計4名に面接調査を実施し,5つの質問項目(ターニングポイント,自己開発,個人生活,後輩への助言,キャリアアップと力量形成)に対する女性校長の回答を男性校長との比較から分析した。その結果,女性校長のキャリア形成の特徴として20~30歳代での育児経験,40歳代での視野拡大と重要ポストの経験及びメンターの存在,50歳代でのしなやかな同僚性の構築が指摘された。, The purpose of this case study is to consider women’s career progression for becoming principals of Tokyo Metropolitan High Schools. In spite of the fact that career women increased recently, other studies have demonstrated there are not enough women in education management in secondary education schools. An interview survey was put into effect for 4 informants. The informants are 2 female principals and 2 male principals. The answers of female principals to 5 questions (turning points, self-development, private life, advice to subordinates, and relation between the career progression and professional development as a teacher) was analyzed in comparison with male principals. As a result, some conditions that it should be settled were pointed out : childbearing and child-rearing in the 20 or 30 year old generation ; expansion of viewpoint ; experience of an important post ; encounter with a mentor in the 40 year old generation ; and creating strong and resilient cooperation with colleagues in the 50 year old generation.
