- Abstract
An analytical study was performed to define a Gust Alleviation System on a preliminary configuration of a commuter airplane. The analysis takes into account the influence of elasticity of the airplane, unsteady aerodynamic effects, mechanical nonlinearities such as backlash deadzone and control surface rate and deflection limitations. A relatively simple model shows that ride comfort can be improved by at least 50%., This article is from 'Unsteady Aerodynamics - Fundamentals and Applications of Aircraft Dynamics.
