Background: Fatigue may include both physical and mental dimensions. Evidence suggests that physical and mental activity may influence fatigue in knee osteoarthritis (OA). However, how physical and mental activities relate to fatigue dimensions in knee OA is unclear. Purpose: This study estimated intra-day contributions of physical and mental fatigue to general fatigue and evaluated temporal associations between physical activity, mental activity and fatigue dimensions in knee OA. Methods: An intensive longitudinal study combined with ecological momentary assessment of mental activity intensity and fatigue dimensions was conducted on 23 participants with knee OA. Physical activity was monitored continuously with an accelerometer over 7 days. Results: Physical fatigue contributed 33% more to general fatigue earlier in the day than mental fatigue, and 11% more near the end of the day. Within-day, previous general fatigue significantly and negatively predicted: future step counts, light intensity physical activity time, and light intensity physical activity + standing time. We found a significant bidirectional association between mental activity and general fatigue, a positive association between mental activity and mental fatigue and a significant negative association between mental fatigue and mental activity. Conclusion: Within-day general fatigue may be a significant fatigue dimension that reduces physical activity. Conversely there was no evidence that physical activity might contribute to lower scores on any fatigue dimensions in this population. To manage general fatigue, physical and mental fatigue might have to be targeted more precisely at different time of the day. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The paper presents the results of assessing the emotional state, mental activity, and the level of physical activity in 15-16 year-old boys and girls. The validity and significance of the obtained results and conclusions were ensured by the choice of the research methods as follows: theoretical analysis and generalization of the data of scientific and methodological literature, psychological methods, methods for assessing physical activity (Framingham Physical Activity Index), and methods of mathematical statistics. The study involved 99 students, of which 50 students were 15 year-old and 49 students were 16 year-old. The obtained results indicate the relevance of the chosen area of research. Among the 15-16 year-old boys and girls, no persons were found with a high level of emotional state. For boys aged 15 to 16 years, the total score for emotional state was equal to 6.5-6.7 points, thus indicating a good state. For girls aged 15 to 16 years, the total score for emotional state was 5.8 points, thus indicating a worsened state. According to the results of the analysis of mental activity indicators, it was found that 15.6% (n = 5) of boys and 11.8% (n = 2) girls aged 15 years could not retain in memory any pair of digits and had the short-term memory span of 0.0%. In boys aged 15 to 16 years, short-term memory span was higher than in girls by 7.0% -7.4%, although there was no statistically significant difference (p>0.05) between them. The average values of attention span and switching of attentional focus of 15-16 year-old boys and girls indicate a low level of attention and a large number of mistakes made by them. The students aged 15-16 years spent 93.0% - 94.0% of time at a basal, a sedentary, and a slight levels of activity. They spent about 6.0-7.0% of time engaging in moderate and heavy physical activity. There was no statistically significant difference (p>0.05) between boys and girls in the distribution by physical activity levels. The results obtained should be taken into account when developing programs of health-enhancing and recreation classes for high school students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

• Climate chamber experiments were conducted to simulate winter commute conditions. • The interactive effects of physical and mental activities on thermal comfort analyzed. • The skin and core temperatures were not significantly affected by mental activities. • Both metabolic rate and mood can affect TSV and TCV by changing heart rate. • Indoor mental status should also be considered when evaluating thermal comfort. The indoor thermal comfort requirements of occupants after winter commutes are subject to variations compared to stable indoor environments. However, the comprehensive effect of mood and physical activities on thermal responses is poorly understood. In this study, 20 sex-balanced participants were recruited to investigate differences in thermal perceptions and physiological responses to thermal environments after winter commutes in a climate chamber. Six different conditions with three different indoor seated activities after step-changing from two different outdoor physical activities were studied. Our findings revealed significant disparities in mood scores among participants engaged in activities such as quiet sitting, office work (typing), and entertainment (watching comedy). The thermal sensation and thermal comfort votes were significantly different between sitting quietly/working and entertainment cases after winter commute by running. Notably, both physical and mental activities exhibited the capacity to impact TSV through alterations in heart rate. This was particularly evident in the context of entertainment activities, where a positive mood was found to mitigate the increase in heart rate, as indicated by wrist pulse measurements, under conditions of elevated metabolic activity. Conversely, no significant differences were observed in skin and core temperatures across different indoor mental activities. This suggests that wrist pulse or heart rate could serve as a valuable additional parameter for enhancing the accuracy of real-time thermal comfort predictions in environments with a constant room temperature. A more satisfying indoor thermal environment could be dynamically created for the well-being of commuters based on the results of this study. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The research under consideration describes the area of methodology of scientific knowledge via the possibilities of ideas generation and their implementation in the organization management. The paper investigates and describes the concept of “idea” and the process of its transformation into product; there is presented the algorithm of idea construction and development and also are shown the components of the proposed multidimensional model and its links with external environment. The contradictions occurred in the process of generating the idea and its further implementation in management science and practice are presented. In the framework of the resultant ideas generation the author puts forward the hypotheses concerning the main idea, revealed through the prism of his investigation and connected with the creation of the holographic organization. In this context, the holography is not only the visualization of the organization, itself, but, at the same time, the inclusion of the other sources of information in the given schematic model. The fundamental idea developed by the author in this research is the determination of parallax in the search for management products. The idea is very daring and quite promising in the future. This article is based on the researches in the field of creating strategies employed for a modular product designing. The author of the scientific paper analyses the previous investigations in the field of the perspective management hypotheses. The detailed analysis allows the author to focus on the most significant works in the field of management science and to present them in the chronological order.

Anti-aging products still are a big business worldwide. The most active promoters of anti-aging products currently are internet dealers, the cosmetic and the dairy industry or companies that sell nutritional supplements. Only a few of the advertised substances however have been studied in clinical trials under robust conditions. Several drugs demonstrate positive effects on intracellular mechanisms that are associated with delayed cellular aging. This does not mean that they are in delaying human aging. In contrast, key elements that provide successful healthy and long aging in humans are physical and mental activity a balanced, mediterranean diet and social contacts.

The object of the study is the methodology of teaching Russian morphology at secondary school. The subject matter of the research is the teaching potential of morphology for building a system of skills necessary for speech activity and the development of learners’ systematic thinking. The study aims to search for methodological factors that can enhance learners’ mental activity in the process of mastering the morphology of the Russian language. Theoretical research methods (analysis, synthesis, systematisation, generalisation of results) in conjunction with practical research methods (modelling the process of teaching morphology, learning process observation) are employed in the study. The paper examines theoretical sources, practices in teaching morphology at school and suggests ways to reverse negative trends in education. The relevance of the problem is highlighted, in the first place, by the fundamental importance of morphology for learners’ personality development. Secondly, it is emphasised by the fact that modern school-leavers lack the system of morphological skills. Lastly, negative trends in teaching this branch of linguistics as part of the school Russian course persist, which also underlines the relevance of the research. The study focuses on the theoretical aspects of the addressed problem and takes into consideration modern knowledge of psychology, psycholinguistics, linguistics, the methodology of teaching Russian. Additionally, the paper presents methods and techniques of teaching such difficult morphological topics as «The Pronoun», «The Participle», «The Numeral». It is concluded that problem-based learning is effective as its implementation will enable teachers to enhance their students’ mental activity in the process of cognition and optimise the outcomes of teaching Russian morphology at secondary school.

- Abstract
Introduction and Importance: Acute psychosis is a common brief psychiatric emergency period of delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thoughts and/or speech with or without psychomotor elements, which is not commonly induced by isotretinoin therapy. Dermatologists should counsel the patient before starting the treatment with all new, uncommon side effects, especially neuropsychiatric manifestations before starting this medication., Case Presentation: A 23-year-old male smoker with a known case of acne vulgaris recently started on isotretinoin for 2 weeks after which he developed abnormal hyperactive psychomotor activity. He was diagnosed with isoteritoin-induced acute psychosis based on clinical findings and exclusion, and valproic acid and olanzapine were initiated. The patient showed significant improvement., Clinical Discussion: Acute psychosis is a new, unfamiliar side effect presenting after initiation of isotretinoin therapy in young adults who were previously healthy. The mechanism is not well known but is thought to result from a decrease in the adult's neurogenesis or alterations in exposure of the serotonergic neurotransmitter system., Conclusion: Isotretinoin is commonly used nowadays for treating young adults. Patients and their families should be counselled about all the psychiatric side effects. Antipsychotics and antiepileptics with mood stabilizers may improve the acute status for patients with isotertoin-induced psychosis., Competing Interests: The authors declare that they have no competing interests.Sponsorships or competing interests that may be relevant to content are disclosed at the end of this article, (Copyright © 2024 The Author(s). The formation of a healthy lifestyle among the educational process subjects is one of the main functions of health-saving educational space. This function can be implemented effectively only if the executive bodies in the sphere of education, other agencies, the public and the subjects of the educational process take active part in this process. Such cooperation requires a common understanding in the issues to promote health of all pedagogical process participants, but to date the concept “healthy lifestyle” has not been clearly defined and the effective and optimized pedagogical models for its formation, according to the cross-cutting principle, have not been elaborated. The article analyzes different points of view on this issue. A healthy lifestyle is considered as a complex pedagogical technology to create health culture. Taking into account the scholars’ attitudes to the concept “healthy lifestyle” the author identifies three main components of a healthy lifestyle: health culture, health-saving activity and conditions that ensure a healthy lifestyle. The article argues that health saving needs of a person predetermine his/her health-saving activities. It reveals the main strategic sub-components of a healthy lifestyle: physical, environmental, medical, psychological and spiritual-moral activities. The work presents the normative model of a healthy lifestyle and its structure. It defines a healthy lifestyle as a model of health-saving behavior model. The author proves that the proposed normative model of a healthy lifestyle can be successfully used for the formation of health-saving educational space on the principles of inter-sectoral collaboration

Philosophy ,Architectural design ,Mental activity ,Human being ,Humanities - Abstract
EnglishThe process of architectural design starts from a mental activity based on relations of abstract and empirical concepts prior to the materialization of what we know as built space and architecture. This process does not start in sketches or plans, but in the mind in advance through processes of imaginary relationships (synthesis) of concepts and analogies. The relationship between philosophy and architecture nowadays maybe is not as close as in ancient times, however, the understanding of this relationship becomes crucial in order to experience in the best possible way the spaces in which the human being grows, develops itself and produces his/her vision of world.

eating plays a pivotal role in Chinese culture as echoed in the saying mín yǐ shí wéi tiān “Eating is everything for people”. In Chinese, a multitude of expressions related to eating are metaphorically used to talk about aspects of living and we call them “eating metaphors”. eating metaphors are largely motivated by the primary metaphor living is eating. This paper focuses on three prominent elements of the eating activity (i.e., living as “a process of eating”, living as “a kind of food” and living as “a tool for eating or cooking”) which give rise to the following metaphors: social activity is a process of eating, mental activity is a process of eating, social activity is food, mental activity is taste of food, humans are food, social activity is a tool for eating/cooking, and mental activity is attribute of tools for eating/cooking. The mappings from the domain of eating to the domain of living are largely based on their similarities on the generic level. Using the apparatus of clics 3, we find that the concept of eat in Chinese can colexify drink, intake, chew, learn, consider, understand, invade, possess, deprive, absorb, coitus, depend, and consume, and all cases of colexification can be accounted for by the living is eating metaphor. It is the experiential similarities between the living activity and the eating activity that make the structural mappings between two domains possible and that people can use one domain of experience to talk about another.

Correlation ,Human organism ,Trait ,Cognition ,Spatial intelligence ,Mental activity ,Twin study ,General Psychology ,Behavioural genetics ,Education ,Cognitive psychology - Abstract

The article considers the essence of the concept of mental activity, analyzes the problem of human thinking, shows the role of building tasks in the formation of mental activity of secondary school students. The main feature of the construction tasks is that they develop search skills for solving problems, introduce them to feasible independent research, contribute to the development of geometric representations and the processing of knowledge, skills, thereby strengthening not only the applied orientation of geometry teaching, but also the polytechnic one. Construction tasks do not allow a formal approach to them, they create a problematic situation that needs to be solved, as a result of which the level of mental activity increases. Pedagogical experience shows that due to lack of time, teachers do not see the need to return to the construction tasks, and school textbooks pay little attention to the construction tasks, so elective classes and elective seminars on this topic are necessary. The optimal number of classes should be 10 hours, especially for grades 7-9. The authors tested their own methodology (ascertaining, forming and control stages) among students of the 7th grade of one of the schools in Uralsk.

This article is dedicated to the analysis of Plato's work “The Republic” in the context of the genesis of project mentality and project activity as the anthropological outcome that goes back to the early cultural states and primary personality-oriented ancient practices. The author shifts to the plane of historical-cultural retrospective of the origin of the phenomenon of project mentality with the objective vicissitudes of its genesis. An attempt is made to reflect on this process, examine and clarify certain moments associated with the prelude and dynamics of the development of project approach towards organizing modern reality. The author substantiates the original perspective on interpretation of Plato's “Republic” as the early typical example of proto-project mentality formed in the depths of ancient cultural practices. Project mentality is a promising vector of the existence of culture, the so-called matrix of personal fulfillment of a significant part of our contemporaries. The author believes that Plato's work “The Republic” should be recognized as one of the very first examples of proto-project due to the presence of a wide range of typological attributes of design. The conclusion is made that in accordance to most parameters, Plato's work “The Republic” falls under the concept of “project activity”, as it features majority of the aspects of sociocultural design.

Выявлено снижение показателей каждого органа после умственной нагрузки по сравнению с показателями до ее выполнения со статистической достоверностью во всех исследуемых органах (р Humans has long been interested in the question of how mental activity affects the body It is known that with prolonged mental work, the strength of the processes of excitation and inhibition is transformed, the ratio between them changes. With the onset of fatigue in the brain, the relationship between the cerebral cortex and subcortical formations is disrupted. At the same time, there is a decrease in the regulatory influence of the large hemispheres on all body functions and a decrease in the activating effects of the subcortical parts of the brain. In addition, prolonged sitting, a state of low motor activity leads to a significant decrease in centripetal impulses from the receptors of muscles, tendons, and joints. The study involved 17 relatively healthy, stable physiological condition of female students aged 21 to 25 years. For the study, 16 biologically active points were taken from standard meridians associated with a specific organ. To assess the physiological state of the organs before and after the load of mental labor, the indicators of EC BAP on the skin. A decrease in the indicators of each organ after mental labor was revealed in comparison with the indicators before mental labor with statistical reliability in all the studied organs (p˂0.05). Especially low values of the EC BAP values after a load of mental labor were found in the bioactive points of the liver meridian F. 3 Tai-Chun, the colon meridian GI.5 Yang-Si and GI. 4 He-Gu, the heart meridian C. 7 Shen-Men, the small intestine meridian IG.1 Shao-tse and IG.2 Qian-Gu, the meridian of the kidneys R. 1 Yun-Chuan and R. 2 Zhan-Gu.

Background and Objectives: Although the effects of physical exercise on brain functions are well studied, the influence of mental activity is unknown. The aim of this study was to assess the influence of a session of mental activity on brain neurobiological factors in chess players. Materials and Methods: Ten elite and novice chess players were recruited to participate in this study as volunteers. The subjects performed a session of standard chess matches as a mental activity. Before and after each chess match, blood samples were drawn to analyze changes in serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). Results: After each chess match, both the elite and novice groups showed significant increases in serum BDNF and IGF-1 concentrations. The elite group also showed significantly greater changes in BDNF and IGF-1 levels (p ≤ 0.05) than the novice group. Conclusions: Our findings indicate that a session of standard chess matches as a mental activity is effective for elevating BDNF and IGF-1 levels, and that their elevation in elite players seems to be more pronounced than those in novice players.

- Abstract
Stress is recognized as an important health and safety indicator in work environments as it can both endanger workers and hinder companies’ workflow. HRV is recognized as a good psychophysiological indicator of personal stress and can also be detected with innovative wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) bands which allow us to obtain recordings in real-life situations. This work proposes an innovative procedure for the assessment and a subsequent intervention against stress, using an AI approach for the detection of unhealthy stress status followed by a VR heart rate variability biofeedback treatment to address it. The procedure consists of assessing personal data and stress and tiredness levels of workers, and then collecting their ECG data through the cardio band Zephyr BioHarness during a standard workday. Researchers will shadow the participants without interfering, labeling each activity according to a predefined scale in clusters of homogeneous behaviors. After preliminary analysis, the data will populate a database to be used to train an AI with the goal to detect patterns related to stress and find out which HRV components are best at predicting stress. To compare our on-field recordings, we will also use data from open-source databases, with physiological registration of stressful situations. This procedure was tested on 11 plant workers during a standard job day.

The article considers learning as a system and emphasizes that its two main organizational components are learning and teaching, and interprets students' learning activities as activities aimed at achieving the goals of the learning process. It is acceptable to include cognitive needs, learning motives, learning objectives, tasks, and learning activities in the structure of training. It is accepted that knowledge and the process of learning this knowledge belong to the sources that create cognitive interests and needs. Based on the analysis of the research materials obtained, the authors make the following generalization: regardless of the level of perception of the activity, the understanding of the goal always remains a necessary feature of it; In the absence of this sign, human activity, especially learning activity, cannot exist. It is also concluded that the functional structure of learning activities includes the following stages: 1) introductorymotivational stage; 2) operational-cognitive stage; 3) control-evaluation stage.

Decentering, a detached, observer perspective on one’s mental activity, is an important concept for understanding mental health. Meta-awareness, people’s awareness of their own current mental activity, is thought to facilitate decentering. However, trait measures of these concepts are not available or have validity concerns. We sought to create a theoretically derived measure of meta-awareness and decentering that allowed an exploration of questions in the literature regarding whether there are multiple forms of decentered awareness and whether meta-awareness and external awareness are distinct. Across six samples and 2,480 participants, we developed the 25-item Multidimensional Awareness Scale, with subscales assessing meta-awareness (present moment awareness of mental activity), decentered awareness (meta-awareness from a psychologically distant perspective), and external awareness (present moment awareness of the world outside of oneself). The scales demonstrated acceptable reliability and validity. Results are discussed in terms of the conceptual implications of the scale structure and its potential uses.

This article highlights the psychological and pedagogical aspects of student learning and discusses the tools required in the process from the student and the teacher. Understanding of the events that take place in the pedagogical process. One of the problems of secondary specialized educational institutions is the low quality of general education of the first year, the lack of the formation of general educational skills, skills of organizing independent work, mental activity, insufficient development of the communicative culture. At the same time, the teacher must know a large number of them - in certain cases, combine or use only one - the choice depends on the teacher's competence.

The work analyzes the concept of “Mental activity” as a component of the linguistic personality of a child during his infancy and early childhood on the linguistic material of the first book of the autobiographical novel by I.A. Bunin’s “Life of Arseniev”. Thus, the subject of the research is the linguo-cognitive model of the concept of “Mental activity” with a core and a system of peripheral means. Cognitive activity as a component of the characteristics of a linguistic personality occupies an important place in cognitive linguistics. Thus, the relevance of the presented article lies in the appeal to the phenomenon of the linguistic personality of the character of a work of art, the problem of its typology and method of description. The purpose of the article is to identify and then analyze the lexical means of representing the concept of “Mental activity” and its func-tioning in the novel based on statistical, descriptive methods and the method of conceptual analy-sis. In the conclusions reached by the author of the article, it is substantiated that the mental activity of a child reflects the specifics of his age and intellectual development, the characteristics of his environment, the socio-economic and cultural-historical conditions in which he grows up, is associated with the communicative strategies of his linguistic personality. The materials of the article can find practical application in university courses on textual criticism, cognitive linguistics, and linguistic text analysis.

Upholding the principle of Biological Naturalism, John Searle requires that explanation of mental phenomenon must be coherent with findings in scientific studies. To meet the requirement of coherence, Searle puts forward his “connection principle”. This paper contends that his requirement is not well met in his own study of unconscious mental states. Firstly, his classification of unconscious mental states is not reasonable. For example, he has classified “knowledge of language” into deep unconscious mental state, which in nature belongs to nonconscious mental state. The classification is not in accord with findings in linguistic studies, nor with linguistic practice. Secondly, his explanation for the unconscious mental process is doubtful. Based on his “connection principle”, unconscious mental state is nothing but potential conscious mental state and therefore the processing of unconscious mental activity should resemble that of conscious mental activity. But this explanation is not coherent with findings in cognitive science. The paper concludes that Searle fails in his requirement of coherence.
