This study aims to assess the amount of biogas and value of energy produced from animal manure in Konya province. Therefore, the potential of biogas was calculated by considering the number of cattle, broilers, and laying hens. It was calculated that a total of 5.63 million tonnes of animal manure comprising 5.25 million tonnes of cattle manure, 1.07 thousand tonnes of broiler manure, and 382.38 thousand tonnes of laying hen manure could be taken from these animals in the province. 105.67 Mm3 biogas can be produced from the available amount of this manure. It was calculated that electric energy of approximately 266.53 GWhel can be produced from this biogas. Furthermore, greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction was calculated to show the environmental benefits of biogas production from animal manure. Upon benefiting from the total of the calculated biogas potential, it was determined that CO2 emission reduction ranging from 1.04–1.57 million tonnes could be provided.

This research article is based mainly on Ottoman archival data of 1845. They are manuscripts, written in Ottoman Turkish. Ottoman government needs cash in the years of 1820s due to wars with Russia and Iran. To achieve this, the state demands extra taxes from all peasants of Anatolia. In this study, the economic situation of 22 small Muslim villages of the district of Kıreli of Konya of Anatolia was examined in outline. Agriculture and livestock were the main means of livelihood for the Muslim peasants. However, with the increase of the population, the economic resources were not enough for the Muslim peasants and the nomads (Yörük) living in this region. Many men had to leave their villages and went to the large cities to earn struggle for life. Ottoman administration founds them there and also taxes the labor. This was a very heavy practice for them. In the region, most villages were abandoned. The peasants had to be content with only rural resources. Since the şer’iye records are primary sources, they have been the subject of graduate theses.Urban registries were evaluated by different disciplines. One of these cities is Konya. However, bibliometric analysis studies on the theses written about Konya have not yet been found. This study aims to perform bibliometric analysis of graduate theses written in the light of Konya şer'iye registers. In this context, 16 questions were determined and the graduate theses written in the light of Konya şer'iye records registered in the National Thesis Center database were scanned between 3 September and 28 October 2022. As a result, the number of 71 theses written between 1989-2022 was reached. As a result of the findings obtained, it was determined that most theses were researched in 2019, prepared at Selçuk University, published in master's type and written in Turkish. In this context, it is assumed that this study will be a source for increasing the research written in the registry and will contribute to the discovery of unknowns at the national level. In addition, it is foreseen that the next bibliometric analyzes will be important for researchers to follow the current developments in their studies and to provide awareness for research. This study had been made by purpose of describing the features of the plant species which exist in the Eldeş, Ilgın District-Konya City and it's surroundings in the years 2019-2020. Eldeş is located in the B3 squarea ccording to the Türkiye Grid system. The meetings were held with 143 experienced local people (67 are man, 76 are woman), to determine the local name and the purposes of usage of the plants which had been collected from working area. It is determined totally 129 taxa, which relating to 42 families. The purposes of using these taxa are, 76 taxa as foods, 91 taxa as medicals, 27 taxa as animal foods, 20 taxa as stuffs, 16 taxa as ornamental plants, 20 taxa as fuel, 3 taxa as color plants, 9 taxa as herbal tea, 3 taxa as spice and 6 taxa as oil. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of Konya urban identity on the urban landscape design of Konya city through eye tracking technique (method) through individuals. Within the scope of the research, first of all, a literature review on the subject was made. Afterwards, urban landscape areas with dense urban identity components determined in the light of literature resources were visited and photographs were obtained from these areas. Interviews were held with experts in the field of Konya urban identity, and as a result of these interviews, the photographs to be used in eye tracking analysis were determined. The photographs were uploaded to the eye tracking program and heat maps of the eye movements of the volunteer participants were created using the eye tracking device, and the numerical data (fixation numbers and fixation times) of the eye tracking analysis were reached. In addition, questionnaires were applied to the participants after the eye tracking analysis. As a result of the research, it was revealed that heat maps and eye tracking numerical data supported the questionnaires. Despite being relatively a new genre in Urdu Literature, the travelogues inscribed in the last century possess a considerable body of literature. Travelogues are substantial information sources regarding the travel region. These works also play a major role for intercultural interaction. In the 20th century an increasing amount of interest of Pakistani and Indian travelers on Turkey becomes more striking. Most of the travelers from these countries visited Konya following Istanbul, which rests on their love and devotion to Rumi. The major reason for their visit to Konya is to commit deeds and earn celestial rewards. Hence, in addition to reporting significant information about the geographical location, and the economic, political, and cultural structure of Konya, these travelogues also serve as substantial sources for providing information about Rumi and Mevlevism as well. Technological development, ease of travel as a result of the diversity of travel tools, diversity in commercial activities, and widespread scientific congresses have increased human mobility between countries. Konya province whose history dates back to the Neolithic period, is one of the old cities that hosted numerous civilizations. The city, which was conquered by Suleyman Shah, the son of Kutalmış in 1075, served as the capital city of the Anatolian Seljuks. During the Seljuk rule, the city was reconstructed by the sultan and his family, statesmen and wealthy community, and developed and sustained with the identity of a Turkish-Islamic city. A great number of buildings such as mosques and masjids, caravanserais, tombs, public baths, madrasahs, inns was built and these structures were financially supported by foundations. Among these buildings, madrasahs which were perceived as solid proof of the importance of education given by the Seljuks, were built in many cities such as Sivas, Kayseri, Antalya, Sinop, and certainly in the capital city of Konya. A number of the madrasahs were either naturally demolished over time or destroyed. The Küçük Karatay Madrasa, which is the main focus of the research, unfortunately shared the same fate as the other disappering Seljuk Madrasahs. It will be tried to determine the original plan scheme of the Küçük Karatay Madrasa, only a part of which remains today, based on the existing balances, the photographs in hand and the information in various publications. This study aims to present and promote the observations of the second meeting of Women Ḥadith Academicians held in Konya from July 7 to 9, 2023. First of all, various meetings were held with the organizing committee consisting of people from Muhaddithāt and consultations were held regarding the functioning of the program. As a result of the preliminary preparations, a team of about 90 people came together in Konya on Friday, July 7 and moved towards Atabey Youth Camp where the organization would take place. On the evening of the first day, they met to get to know each other. On Saturday, July 8, the first panels of the Muḥaddithāt Meeting started with the opening conference of Prof. Dr. Huriye Martı. After the discussion of “Methods in Various Ḥadith Studies” and “Ongoing Theses”, on Sunday, July 9, after the “Being an Academician from Various Perspectives” session, scholars left the camp area and gathered to listen the session named “Ḥadith Semāʿ Majlis” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Aynur Uraler in Ince Minaret Madrasa. The program ended with this assembly. These three days, which brought together the women scholars of Ḥadith with participants from Türkiye and even abroad, made a significant contribution to the construction of a unity beyond the academic meeting and brought important contributions to coordinated research. Today, as a result of the changes in social, cultural and family life with globalization, the demands and needs of people have also changed. Due to reasons such as changes in lifestyle, shrinkage in the family, individualization and single-person living style, residences have been reduced spatially and the production of 'studio flats', the most common types of small residences produced as 1+0, 1+1, 2+1, has increased today. The focus of this study is the suitability of the small housing users produced in Konya to their lifestyles and why they prefer these houses. In the study, it is assumed that there will be differences in small housing type selections and small housing features according to the demographic characteristics of small housing users. Based on this assumption, a questionnaire was applied to 259 small house users in a studio-type house in the Selçuklu district of Konya. As a result of the research, it has been determined that single users mostly prefer 1+1 flat types, while married individuals prefer 2+1 flat types. It has been observed that as the number of households in the residence increases, the demand for 2+1 duplex flats increases. In addition, it has been determined that the users attach importance to the safety in the house according to the location of the house and their gender according to their marital status. It is thought that the results obtained from this study will guide designers and housing manufacturers at the beginning of small housing design by revealing the expectations and preferences, attitudes and behaviors of small housing users.

In this study, it was aimed to reveal some viruses that are a problem in Dahlia plants grown for ornamental plants in parks and home gardens in Selçuklu, Karatay and Meram districts of Konya. For this reason, in the 2019 summer, leaf samples were taken from 152 Dahlia plants showing symptoms similar to virus disease symptoms such as mosaic, deformations, yellowing, blight on the leaves and stunted plants. Possible infections of Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), Tomato spotted-wilt virus (TSWV) and Impatiens necrotic spot virus, (INSV) on these leaves were tested by serological-based DAS-ELISA (Double Antibody Sandwich- Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay) method. According to DAS-ELISA results, it was determined that 46.71% of the samples were infected with at least one of these three viruses. In addition, TSWV was detected as the most common virus with a 38.82% relative incidence in the samples, followed by CMV (27.63%). Mixed infections of the viruses were also detected in the leaf samples tested. As a result of the tests, only CMV + TSWV double infection was detected in a total of 30 samples. On the other hand, INSV infection was not detected in any of the leaf samples tested. As a result of survey studies, the average of prevalence rate of virus diseases in Dahlia plants grown in Konya was calculated as 69.56%. Moreover, it was determined that virus diseases were most common in Selçuklu district (75.47%). This is the first report of CMV and TSWV on Dahlia spp. in Türkiye.

Kurşunlu ve Dağdere (Selçuklu-Konya) civarında yaklaşık 132 km2 lik bir alanın cevher potansiyelinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. İnceleme alanında Ladik Metamorfikleri’ne ait Silüriyen (?)-Permiyen yaşlı Sızma grubunda yer alan rekristalize kireçtaşı, dolomitik kireçtaşı ve dolomitlerden oluşan Bozdağ formasyonu, fillit, metakumtaşı, rekristalize kireçtaşı, metaçört, şist ve metakarbonat olistolitlerinden oluşmuş Bağrıkurt formasyonu ve bu birimlerle yer yer ara seviyeli yer yer de dayklar şeklinde kesen Karadağ metamagmatikleri yer alırken Ardıçlı grubunda ise, metakonglomera, fillit metakumtaşı ve rekristalize kireçtaşlarıyla temsil olunan Bahçecik formasyonu ve bu birimle dereceli geçişli metakarbonat ve metakırıntılılardan oluşan Ertuğrul formasyonu yer almaktadır. İnceleme alanındaki jeokimyasal analiz sonuçları bu birimler içerisinde yer alan cevherli numuneler içinde başlıca iki mineralizasyon grubu olduğunu göstermiştir. Bunlar, yüksek sıcaklık ve düşük sıcaklık mineralizasyonları olarak tanımlanmıştır. Üst Devoniyen-Permiyen döneminde gerçekleşen magmatizma ile ilişkili olduğu düşünülen yüksek sıcaklık mineralizasyonunda yer alan Fe2O3, Cu, Pb, Zn ve Mo, bazı örneklerde oldukça yüksek olup Fe2O3 % 56.62’ye, Cu 255 ppm’e, Pb 685 ppm’e, Zn 1426 ppm’e ve Mo 72 ppm’e ulaşmaktadır. İkinci önemli mineralizasyon ise düşük sıcaklıklı mineralizasyon grubu olup Hg başta olmak üzere, Sb, As, Tl, Ag ve Au ile temsil edilmektedir. Bazı örneklerde Hg 100 ppm’e, Sb 182 ppm’e, As 951 ppm’e, Tl 20 ppm’e, Ag 3.3 ppm’e ve Au 63 ppb’ye ulaşmaktadır.

Abstract This study presents archaeometric analyses of glazed tiles produced with the cut-mosaic technique to reveal information about the Anatolian Seljuk period’s architecture and ceramic technology. The Persian Seljuk artists also used the same technique. For this purpose, physical, chemical, thermal, mineralogical, microstructural, and molecular analyses were carried out on the tiles from the Seljuk period unearthed in the Kılıçarslan Square excavation in Konya, the capital of the Anatolian Seljuk State from the twelfth-century to the beginning of the fourteenth-century. SEM, XRD, and Heat Microscopy analyses showed that the Seljuk period tiles were not fired at high temperatures like today’s tiles and were probably fired at temperatures below 1100 °C. WD-XRF analyses revealed that the glazes are classified into two categories, one being alkali varying the content of Na2O + K2O between 13 and 16 wt% (PbO between 0.5 and 2 wt%) and the other being lead-alkali type in which PbO content varies between 13 and 15 wt% and alkali content 10–14 wt%. The cobalt content in the blue color is around 0.2 wt%, and copper content in the turquoise-colored samples varies between 2.9 and 4.4 wt% depending on the lightness and darkness of the color (higher amount for tile 1 and tile 3, which are darker than the others). The brown color is obtained by the presence of MnO (3.3 wt%). Raman analysis showed that the difference in sintering temperature caused the color tone difference in Seljuk period tiles, and glazes were formed in the range of 800–1000 °C depending on the Ip values.

As part of this research, the Ladik-Sarayönü area of Konya province's air quality has been assessed utilizing an AI (Artificial Intelligence) method. A total of 103 field samples were analyzed experimentally. Data from experiments was used to inform the design of a multi-layer perceptron feed-forward back-propagation artificial neural network model. The Bayesian method has been employed as the training procedure in an artificial neural network model with 15 neurons in its hidden layer. One hundred experimental data points were used to develop a network model that predicts mercury values of the geoaccumulation index value in the output layer based on the following input variables: mercury, distance to the pollution source, source of pollution, characteristics of the sampled place and the primary factor that controls moving parameters. The majority (90%) of the data is used for the model's training process, while the remaining (10%) is used for validation. By comparing the model's anticipated outcomes with experimental data, an artificial neural network was used to evaluate the model's prediction performance. To forecast mercury values of the geoaccumulation index, the created artificial neural network had an error rate of − 4.04 to 3.98% (with an average of − 0.58%). Objective:This study was conducted to determine the period prevalence of hydatid cysts isolated from the livers of cattle slaughtered at a slaughterhouse in Konya.Methods:For this purpose, 49,545 cattle were slaughtered and examined for the presence of hydatid cysts in the liver. The study was conducted between June 01, 2018, and May 31, 2019.Results:The highest prevalence of hydatid cysts was observed in autumn 10.83% followed by spring 4.41%, winter 2.90%, and summer 2.66%, with an overall prevalence of 3.93%. Considering the month wise prevalence of hydatid cyst, the highest infection rate was detected in September (7.87%), June (7.16%) and August (7.14%), while the lowest prevalence was observed in February (2.72%) and January (2.83%). In gender-wise investigation, highest prevalence was observed in females (24.65%) during the summer and 18.45% inthe spring. In male animals, the infection rate was very low compared with females. However, the highest prevalence in males was observed throughout the year in autumn (2.36%) and the lowest prevalence in winter (1.68%). The highest prevalence was found among female cattle in heifers in winter (6.52%) and cows in summer (27.52%).Conclusion:The overall economic losses of 56,434 USD were estimated due to discarded hydatid cyst-infected livers during the study period. This study enlightens the prevalence and economic significance of hydatidosis in Konya.

Araştırmanın amacı, bu medreseler arasından Konya, İnce Minareli Medresenin detaylandırılarak, alan yönetim planı bağlamında diğerlerine öncü olmasıdır. Arazi çalışmaları, arşiv ve kaynak taraması, kullanılan başlıca yöntemlerdir. Anadolu Selçuklu Medreselerinin özgünlük ve bütünlük durumları, önem ve değerlerine de değinilmiş, bu değerlerin korunurluğunun sağlanması, arttırılması için ortak ilkelerin belirlendiği yönetim eylem planları hazırlanmıştır. Bu çalışma, Anadolu Selçuklu Medreseleri için bütüncül bir alan yönetim planı hazırlanmasına temel oluşturması, korunmaları için sürdürülebilir bir sistem geliştirilmesi, insanlığın ortak malı olarak korunmalarının arttırılması açısından önemlidir.

Traditional earthen architecture is a process through which local building masters have used specific techniques, know-how, and skills encapsulating cultural values that have survived in local building traditions. The knowledge and practices of building masters and local communities that have continued through the building tradition in rural settlements constitute a significant aspect of intangible cultural heritage. Konya's earthen building culture is so specific that it embodies the practices, knowledge, and know-how of local building masters on adobe construction techniques and, the practices of maintenance, renewal, repair, and ornamentation of traditional buildings carried out by local peasant women. This study surveys the intangible values of Konya's earthen-building culture to develop an integrated approach to conservation. The data obtained for this paper from the architectural surveys of traditional buildings, on-site observations, photographic documentation, and in-depth interviews carried out with building masters, local people, and local authorities were gathered in July 2017 and September 2018 during fieldwork in Çavuş and Değirmenaltı Villages in Hüyük, Sarayönü and Kadınhanı. In this study, infections that may emerge from viruses and phytoplasmas were investigated in carrot cultivation fields in the Ankara and Konya provinces, which are located in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey and have the largest agricultural areas of the country. A total of 272 symptomatic and asymptomatic carrot plants, together with their root and leaf parts, were collected from 61 fields by performing periodic field studies during the plant vegetation periods between 2018–2019. Samples were tested against carrot virus Y (CarVY), carrot red leaf virus (CtRLV), carrot red leaf virus-associated RNA (CtRLVaRNA), carrot mottle virus (CMoV), carrot torradovirus 1 (CaTV), carrot yellow leaf virus (CYLV), carrot thin leaf virus (CTLV) and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) agents by Reverse Transcriptase-PCR (RT-PCR). To determine phytoplasmas, samples were tested using universal primers by nested PCR. Molecular tests conducted to investigate the aforementioned viruses produced negative results, but phytoplasma infections were widely found. 16SrVI-A "Candidatus Phytoplasma trifolii" and 16SrI-B "Aster yellows" subgroups were detected by in vitro/in silico RFLP and sequencing analyses. Disease incidence caused by both phytoplasma groups was 39.34%. This study determined for the first time that 16SrVI and 16SrI groups cause severe infections in the carrot fields of Turkey. This article is an obituary. After the loss of Hasan Onat, the doyen of our field, in 2020, the Department of His-tory of Islamic Sects experienced a shock with the death of Sıddık Kork-maz in 2022, and in 2023, with the unexpected death of Seyit Bahcıvan. Bahcıvan, after spending many years in Istanbul and Mecca for the study of Islamic sects, returned to Konya and continued his service in his hometown. He made great contributions to the world of Islamic sects by editing and criticising important works in the field of History of Islamic Sects. Muham-mad Emin Sarac has a great place in the scholarly life in Istanbul. Bahcı-van, who attended the Higher Islamic Institute on the one hand, attended Saraç Hoca's mosque classes for 6 ye-ars and read many books from him. Bahcıvan, who went to Mecca with the blessings of his teacher, continued the tradition of lecturing that he inherited from his teacher in Konya after retur-ning to the country, and read books to students in various non-governmental organisations as well as faculty lectu-res for years. In this study, how the Selcuk University Faculty of Medicine was established to be passed on to new generations, the difficulties experienced in the first years, as well as the solidarity, sacrifices, solutions found and the values that the Faculty of Medicine brought to Selcuk University and Konya were investigated. The findings and documents were examined and the issue was intended to be brought into the field of Republic History of Medicine. The findings of the study were obtained by a semi-structured oral history study and examination of related documents. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with the residents of Konya by obtaining the consent of the academic, administrative and other staff members of Selcuk University and the Faculty of Medicine, the students of the faculty of medicine of the period, the managers of non-governmental organizations who witnessed the establishment process. Data were collected from people living in other cities via telephone calls and e-mails. Parliamentary minutes, local newspapers of the period, and student archives, which were accessed with official permission, were used. Today, it is very important in terms of belonging to the institution that everyone, from the student to staff of the medicine faculty, from the assistant to the faculty member in the academic staff, is aware of all these processes, the difficulties experienced and the sacrifices made by the faculty. Ülkemizde modern anlamda ilk nüfus sayımı 1927 yılında yapılmıştır. Yeni kurulan Cumhuriyet’in, sahip olduğu nüfusu tanımaya ve kayıt altına almaya yönelik bu girişimi, dağılan bir imparatorluktan geriye kalan ve uzun savaşlar sonucunda bağımsızlığını kazanan bir toplumun demografik özellikleri hakkında son derece önemli bilgiler sunmaktadır. 1927 nüfus sayımının yapıldığı dönemde, Türkiye’nin 63 vilayetinden bir tanesi olan Konya’nın, bu zamana ait demografik özellikleri henüz ortaya konmamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Konya’nın demografik tarihindeki bu mühim noktaya ışık tutmaktır. Çalışmayı önemli kılan nokta ise, 1927 nüfus sayımından önce, Konya’nın demografik özelliklerini tanıyabileceğimiz bir sayımın veya verinin olmayışıdır. Osmanlı’nın son döneminde yaşanan savaşlar ve kitlesel göçler, Cumhuriyet’e intikal eden nüfusun yapısında büyük değişimlere yol açmıştır. Hâliyle, Osmanlı’dan devralınan nüfus istatistikleri de önemli ölçüde işlevsiz hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışma ile, Konya nüfusu hakkında elde edilen ilk sağlıklı verilere dayanarak Konya’nın demografik özellikleri açığa çıkartılmak istenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre Konya, 504.384 kişilik nüfusu ile Türkiye’nin en kalabalık üçüncü ili konumundadır. Genç ve dinamik nüfus yapısıyla ekonomik kalkınma ve üretim için önemli bir potansiyele sahip olan Konya halkının en önemli sorunlarından birisi eğitimdir. Okuma oranı erkeklerde %11,54, kadınlarda ise %1,65’tir. Bunun yanında toplam nüfus, dil, din ve tâbiiyet itibariyle büyük oranda homojen bir yapıya sahiptir.

The aim of this study is to determine the purpose of social media usage of farmers in Selçuklu district of Konya province. The sample volume was determined as 80 according to the stratified random sampling method, with a 95% confidence interval and with a 5% margin of error. Factor analysis was conducted to determine the farmers’ social media usage purposes. Factor analysis was conducted on 19 independent variables and 3 independent variables were identified to determine the reasons for using social media. These variables are called professional development, socialization, and communication. The relationship between professional development, socialization, and communication variables and social media platforms was determined by linear regression analysis. For platforms used for socialization purposes, it was found that Facebook was statistically significant at 1% and Instagram was 5%. According to the regression analysis, platforms used for vocational development purposes, it was found that WhatsApp was statistically significant at 1% and YouTube was 5%. In social media, training, extension, projects, and promotions should be more widely supported in order to support the professional training of enterprises. In addition, pieces of training should be provided for enterprises to use social media platforms more effectively.

In this study, as a result of the identification of bryophyte specimens collected from different localities and habitats of Antalya, Karaman, Konya and Mersin provinces, 118 taxa (6 liverworts, 112 mosses) belonging to 24 families and 53 genera were determined. Among them, 5 taxa are new records for C12 according to the Turkey bryophytes grid-square system of Henderson. Furthermore, 6 species are new for Antalya Province, 19 species are new for Konya Province and 8 species are new for Mersin Province. While Pottiaceae (33 taxa), Brachytheciaceae (17 taxa), Bryaceae (11 taxa) and Grimmiaceae (11 taxa) are the largest families in terms of number of taxa, Syntrichia (10 taxa), Ptychostomum (7 taxa), Fissidens (7 taxa) and Didymodon (7 taxa) are the most species-rich genera. This study presents archaeometric analyses of glazed tiles produced with the cut-mosaic technique to reveal information about the Anatolian Seljuk period's architecture and ceramic technology. The Persian Seljuk artists also used the same technique. For this purpose, physical, chemical, thermal, mineralogical, microstructural, and molecular analyses were carried out on the tiles from the Seljuk period unearthed in the Kılıçarslan Square excavation in Konya, the capital of the Anatolian Seljuk State from the twelfth-century to the beginning of the fourteenth-century. SEM, XRD, and Heat Microscopy analyses showed that the Seljuk period tiles were not fired at high temperatures like today's tiles and were probably fired at temperatures below 1100 °C. WD-XRF analyses revealed that the glazes are classified into two categories, one being alkali varying the content of Na2O + K2O between 13 and 16 wt% (PbO between 0.5 and 2 wt%) and the other being lead-alkali type in which PbO content varies between 13 and 15 wt% and alkali content 10–14 wt%. The cobalt content in the blue color is around 0.2 wt%, and copper content in the turquoise-colored samples varies between 2.9 and 4.4 wt% depending on the lightness and darkness of the color (higher amount for tile 1 and tile 3, which are darker than the others). The brown color is obtained by the presence of MnO (3.3 wt%). Raman analysis showed that the difference in sintering temperature caused the color tone difference in Seljuk period tiles, and glazes were formed in the range of 800–1000 °C depending on the Ip values. Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is a member of the family Compositae (Asteraceae). This plant, which is grown for its leaves, is grown in open field and greenhouse conditions almost everywhere in the world and in Turkey. With the present study virus diseases of lettuce and their prevalence in Konya province was revealed for the first time. For this purpose, leaf samples were taken from lettuce plants showing virus diseases symptoms with surveys carried out in Konya province lettuce planting areas from May to August in 2020. Then the collected lettuce leaf samples were tested in laboratory conditions by Double Antibody Sandwich Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (DAS-ELISA) method to reveal infections of Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), Miraflori lettuce big vein virus (MiLBVV), Lettuce mosaic virus (LMV), and Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV). According to the information obtained from the results of the study, it was determined that 40 out of 97 (41.23%) lettuce plant samples and all (6) weed samples were infected with at least one of the viruses. In lettuce leaf samples; TSWV (27.83%), LMV (12.37%), CMV (10.31%) and MiLBVV (5.15%) infections have been detected. In weed samples; infections of CMV (83.33%), LMV (66.66%), and TSWV (50%) have been revealed. The infections of TSWV, LMV, CMV, and MiLBVV on lettuce plants in Konya province were reported firstly with the study.

Agricultural insurance is one of the management risk tools. This research aimed to analyze the factors affecting food crop farmers’ agricultural insurance in the Altınekin District of Konya Province. To obtain data using a questionnaire by interviewing 66 food crop farms entreprises who did agricultural insurance in the previous year. The population sampling was calculated with a single-stage non-clustered probability sampling. Factors affecting farmers’ agricultural insurance were analyzed by Binary Logistic Regression. The results of the analysis of factors affecting farmers’ willingness to take out agricultural insurance were farmers age, education, land size, sources from which they receive information on agricultural insurance, and the amount of support paid by the state, the amount of debt, pure product and agricultural income. The sources from which they received information on agricultural insurance had negative effect. The other factors have a positive effect. Providing education and advertising about agricultural insurance to farmers can increase the willingness of farmers to take out agricultural insurance. Support in the form of assistance on agricultural insurance of the government is also needed.

Cumhuriyetin kurulması ve sonrasında Sanayi Devriminin/endüstrileşmenin etkilerinin kentlerde hissedilmeye başlamasıyla konut sorunu ortaya çıkmıştır. Apartman tipi konut da en önemli konut sunum biçimlerinden bir tanesi olup, kentlerde kapladıkları alanlar dolayısıyla önem taşımaktadır. Çalışma alanı olarak seçilen Konya kenti de konut sorunundan etkilenmiştir. Bu nedenle farklı dönemlerde farklı tipte apartmanlar kentte yerini almıştır. Belirlenen dört dönem içinde üçer adet seçilen apartman tipi konutlarla, çalışmada on iki adet apartman mekân kurgusu bağlamında irdelenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı ise; konutun en önemli birimlerinden olan, yatma-uyuma-dinlenme-giyinme bazen yıkanma gibi temel ihtiyaçları karşılayan “yatak odası” mekânının, belirlenen dönemler içindeki değişimini irdelemek olarak belirlenmiştir. İncelenen örneklerin planları üzerinden yapılan mekân okuması, erişim grafiği ve görünür alan analizleriyle yatak odası biriminin değişimi tartışmaya açılmak istenmiştir. Konutun en kişisel/mahrem mekânı olan yatak odasının değişimini tartışmaya açmak ve gelecek çalışmalara referans olmak amacıyla bu çalışmanın önemli olacağı öngörülmektedir.

The article reports on a project which works towards the recreation of the appearance and decorative scheme of the Qilij Arslan II Kiosk, a palatial structure on the citadel mound of Konya which is one of the earliest Rum Seljuq buildings that survived into the modern age. Topics include the materials from the building collected, the study of full array of publications on the building and the plan to work with historical photographs to reassess the content of the inscription on the façade.

Agricultural production is very important in terms of both energy production and consumption. The main purpose of this study was to calculate the energy values, productivity, and energy efficiency of inputs used in sunflower production in Konya. The sample volume was calculated as 51 by using the Neyman Method of the Stratified Random Sampling Method. In the energy balance analysis of enterprises, the energy equations of all outputs and inputs used in sunflower production were acquired by multiplying with conversion coefficients. Energy output and input equations were calculated for unit sunflower production (MJ kg-1). In conclusion, it was ascertained that 25.26% of the total energy input per hectare comprised direct energy and 74.74% consisted of indirect energy. Energy use efficiency in the research area was 4.94, while the specific energy value was 5.06 MJ kg-1. In other words, 5.06 MJ kg-1 of energy was consumed for 1 kg of sunflower production. The price of 1 kg of sunflower is USD 0.60. The average Technical Efficiency (TE) of the enterprises in the research area was 0.874, and 29.41% of the enterprises producing sunflowers were efficient in energy use per production, whereas 70.58% were less efficient enterprises.
