In this paper, we study the ideal strong lacunary ward compactness of a subset of a 2-normed space and the ideal strongly lacunary ward continuity of a function on . Here a subset of is said to be ideal strong lacunary ward compact if any sequence in has an ideal strong lacunary quasi-Cauchy subsequence. Additionally, a function on is said to be ideal strong lacunary ward continuous if it preserves ideal strong lacunary quasi-Cauchy sequences; an ideal is defined to be a hereditary and additive family of subsets of . We find that a subset of with a countable Hamel basis is totally bounded if and only if it is ideal strong lacunary ward compact. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The establishment of Saorstát Éireann (the Irish Free State) in 1922 did not herald a fundamental overhaul of the administrative machinery inherited from Whitehall and Dublin Castle. Path dependent continuities in legislation and executive orders underpinned the new dispensation. At the same time, a process of evolutionary change, which we call 'administrative greening', was underway. Drawing on data in the Irish State Administration Database (ISAD), and building on our analysis in Biggins, J., MacCarthaigh, M., & Scott, C. (2024). Priming the state: Continuity and junctures in the foundation of the Irish administration. Irish Political Studies, we explore these dynamics of both continuity and change in the formative years of the new state's public administration. In so doing, we attest to patterns of normative production and reproduction, illustrated with reference to a number of legislative and administrative examples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A periodic lattice in Euclidean space is the infinite set of all integer linear combinations of basis vectors. Any lattice can be generated by infinitely many different bases. This ambiguity was partially resolved, but standard reductions remain discontinuous under perturbations modelling atomic displacements. This paper completes a continuous classification of 2-dimensional lattices up to Euclidean isometry (or congruence), rigid motion (without reflections), and similarity (with uniform scaling). The new homogeneous invariants allow easily computable metrics on lattices considered up to the equivalences above. The metrics up to rigid motion are especially non-trivial and settle all remaining questions on (dis)continuity of lattice bases. These metrics lead to real-valued chiral distances that continuously measure lattice deviations from higher-symmetry neighbours. The geometric methods extend the past work of Delone, Conway, and Sloane. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The continuity of mental disorders in street-working children is rarely studied. This study therefore investigated homotypic continuity, recurrence of the same disorder, and heterotypic continuity, when a new disorder follows on the previous, of mental disorders from childhood to adulthood in street-working boys from Duhok City, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Mental disorders were assessed by structured diagnostic interviews in 40 street-working boys in 2004–2005 and again in 2021, when the participants' mean ages were 12.1 (SD 1.8) and 29.7 (SD 2.3), respectively. Mental disorders were common; 24 participants (60%) satisfied the criteria for at least one diagnosis at baseline and 28 (70%) at follow-up. Comorbidity increased from 1.2 (SD 1.4) disorders initially to 2.5 (SD 1.8) at follow-up. Only anxiety disorders showed homotypic continuity. Depressive disorders exhibited the greatest increase over time whereas externalizing disorders exhibited a decreasing tendency. The number of mental disorders in adulthood was related to the number of mental disorders in childhood but not to the number of childhood traumas experienced, having previously worked for more than two hours per day, having worked for over two years on the streets, or having at least one dead parent as a child. Parental ratings on the Child Behaviour Check List (CBCL) from childhood were also unrelated to the number of adult disorders. More longitudinal studies with bigger samples of both genders are needed to fully evaluate the continuity of mental disorders in street-working children and to determine whether the number of mental disorders in childhood is a stronger predictor of being mentally disordered in adult life than psychosocial risk factors or experiences of internalizing or externalizing symptoms in childhood. Anxiety disorders are among the most common disorders in early childhood. Although many older children and adolescents with anxiety disorders recover and remain well, little is known about the continuity of early childhood anxiety and the factors that predict persistence/recurrence in later childhood and adolescence. We followed 129 children who met anxiety disorder criteria at age 3 and/or 6 and determined how many continued to experience an anxiety disorder between age 7 and 15, as well as the continuity of specific anxiety disorders. We explored whether biological sex, number of anxiety disorders, early childhood persistence (i.e., anxiety diagnosis at both age 3 and 6), childhood comorbidities, temperamental behavioral inhibition, a maternal history of anxiety, and authoritarian and overprotective parenting predicted persistence/recurrence of an anxiety disorder from age 7 to 15. Sixty-five (50.4%) of the adolescents with an early childhood anxiety disorder met anxiety disorder criteria during the age 7–15 interval. Homotypic continuity from early childhood to school-age/mid-adolescence was observed for social anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Early childhood agoraphobia predicted school-age/mid-adolescent GAD and early childhood GAD predicted school-age/mid-adolescent specific phobia. In bivariate analyses, number of anxiety disorders, persistence of anxiety from age 3 to 6, and having a mother with a history of anxiety predicted the persistence/recurrence of anxiety disorders from age 7 to 15. Only early childhood persistence of anxiety uniquely predicted the persistence/recurrence of an anxiety disorder over and above the other predictors. Early intervention efforts should focus on identifying and intervening with young children who demonstrate a protracted course of anxiety. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

HABITUATION (Neuropsychology) , *PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGY , *COORDINATION compounds , *RADICALISM , *HEURISTIC - Abstract
Living systems at any given moment enact a very constrained set of end‐directed and contextually appropriate actions that are self‐initiated from among innumerable possible alternatives. However, these constrained actions are not necessarily because the system has reduced its sensitivities to themselves and their surroundings. Quite the contrary, living systems are continually open to novel and unanticipated stimulations that require a physiology of coordination. To address these competing demands, this paper offers a novel heuristic model informed by neuroscience, systems theory, biology and sign study to explain how organisms situated in diverse, complex and ever‐changing environments might draw upon the sparse order made available by 'relevant noise'. This emergent order facilitates coordination, habituation and, ultimately, understanding of the world and its relevant affordances. Inspired by the burgeoning field of coordination dynamics and physiologist Denis Noble's concept of 'biological relativity', this model proposes a view of coordination on the neuronal level that is neither sequential nor stochastic, but instead implements a causal logic of phasic alignment, such that an organism's learned and inherited sets of diverse biological affinities and sympathies can be resolved into a continuous and complex range of patterns that will implement the kind of novel orientations and radical generativity required of such organisms to adaptively explore their environments and to learn from their experiences. - Abstract
In this paper, we prove the following assertion for an absorbing Markov decision process (MDP) with the given initial distribution, which is also assumed to be semi-continuous: the continuity of the projection mapping from the space of strategic measures to the space of occupation measures, both endowed with their weak topologies, is equivalent to the MDP model being uniformly absorbing. An example demonstrates, among other interesting scenarios, that for an absorbing (but not uniformly absorbing) semi-continuous MDP with the given initial distribution, the space of occupation measures can fail to be compact in the weak topology. This paper sheds light on a West African technological landscape of the early twentieth century that transcended the boundaries of various West African population groups and natural environments. The conceptual framework of technological landscape employed in this study serves to explore the everyday spaces and details of trade and transport activities of merchants from Northern Nigeria, as well as the engagement of forest dwellers in Côte d'Ivoire in the trade of gold and other natural resources they cultivated, harvested and produced in the forest. Building on archival materials from Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire, the paper considers various historical actors who have often been neglected in history of technology narratives but who are certainly relevant in West African (transport) history. ACADEMIC ability ,WORD frequency ,GRADE levels ,ENGLISH language ,ABILITY testing ,CULTURAL pluralism - Abstract
In this study, the continuity of reading passages from high school mock College Scholastic Ability Test (CAST) English exams across grade levels was investigated using Coh-Metrix. A corpus consisting of 525 reading passages, evenly distributed with 175 passages from each high school grade level, was compiled from the 2017-2023 mock CSAT English exams administered by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. Coh-Metrix measures included basic counts, word frequencies, word features, lexical diversity, personal pronouns, connectives, standard readability, syntactic complexity, coreference, and semantic cohesion indices. The analysis revealed significant differences among grade levels in the reading passages of the mock CSAT English exams in measures such as word counts, average word and sentence length, nouns, age of acquisition, second person pronouns, standard readability, and subject density indices. These findings highlight the potential for refining the design and construction of reading passages in mock CSAT exams to better prepare students for the linguistic challenges presented in the actual high-stakes CSAT. The primary goal of optimization theory is to formulate solutions for real-life challenges that play a fundamental role in our daily lives. One of the most significant issues within this framework is the Linear Fractional Programming Problem (LFrPP). In practical situations, such as production planning and financial decision-making, it is often feasible to express objectives as a ratio of two distinct objectives. To enhance the efficacy of these problems in representing realworld scenarios, it is reasonable to utilize fuzzy sets for expressing variables and parameters. In this research, we have worked on the Fully Fuzzy Linear Fractional Linear Programming Problem (FFLFrLPP). In our approach to problem-solving, we simplified the intricate structure of the FFLFrLPP into a crisp Linear Programming Problem (LPP) while accommodating the inherent fuzziness. Notably, unlike literature, our proposed technique avoided variable transformation, which is highly competitive in addressing fuzzy-based problems. Our methodology also distinguishes itself from the literature in preserving fuzziness throughout the process, from problem formulation to solution. In this study, we conducted a rigorous evaluation of our proposed methodology by applying it to a selection of numerical examples and production problems sourced from the existing literature. Our findings revealed significant improvements in performance when compared to established solution approaches. Additionally, we presented comprehensive statistical analyses showcasing the robustness and effectiveness of our algorithms when addressing large-scale problem instances. This research underscores the innovative contributions of our methods to the field, further advancing the state-of-theart in problem-solving techniques. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

American and Western audiences have long come to understand Soviet and Russian womanhood, and thus US womanhood, from representations in popular televisual texts. While there is a long history of popular culture presenting the "othered" women of Eastern Europe, for example as temptress "Bond girls" during the Cold War, these narratives have continued onscreen into the twenty-first century. We examine the myriad representations from both the Cold War and post-Cold War period, noting the typical narrative constructions that focus on femme fatales, psychological and sexual trauma, and economic precarity, and how these have continued in contemporary popular culture to shore up notions of Western cultural and political superiority. The characters and the situations in which they find themselves, as spies, assassins, and double agents, continue to send messages about danger and dominance regarding both gender and geopolitics. CONTINUITY ,PHILOSOPHY ,METAPHYSICS ,MONADOLOGY ,MATHEMATICS - Abstract
The status of continuity in Deleuze's metaphysics is a subject of debate. Deleuze calls the virtual, in Difference and Repetition, an Ideal continuum, and the differential relations that constitute the Ideal imply the continuity of this field. But, Deleuze does not hesitate to formulate the same field by the affirmation of divergence (incompossibility) that can be regarded as a form of discontinuity. It is, hence, unclear how these two ostensibly contradictory accounts might reconcile. This article attempts to reconstitute a Deleuzian theory of continuity through Leibniz, whose philosophy is equally subject to a tension between the law of continuity, prevalent in his mathematics and metaphysics, and the discontinuity or absolute individuality of monads. By reorienting The Fold around the motif of continuity a new conceptual space is opened for continuity qua heterogeneity-and-inseparability. Then, enfolding the conceptual personae of The Fold onto Difference and Repetition reveals the tacit though decisive presence of different types of continuity operational in Deleuze's metaphysics that will be called divergent, intensive, torsional, and tenorsional continuities. The Noun Phrase Accessibility Hierarchy cannot explain the difference in relativizability between Chinese and Korean in authentic discourse. Korean exhibits a higher preference for relativization compared to Chinese and this article aims to account for this difference from the perspective of topic continuity. Specifically, the continuity of head nouns within relative clauses is stronger in Korean than in Chinese. By analyzing the parameters of referential distance and potential interference, this study finds that the head nouns in Korean relative clauses display a broader range on the continuum of continuity compared to those in Chinese relative clauses. Furthermore, the difference in the strength of continuity of head nouns between Chinese and Korean relative clauses is attributed to the typological distinction between the Component-Integral Languages and Component- Metonymic Languages postulated within the framework of the Event-Domain Cognitive Model. - Abstract
Adolescence, the second decade of life, bridges childhood and adulthood, but also represents a host of unique experiences that impact health and well‐being. Lifespan theories often emphasize the continuity of individual characteristics and their contexts from childhood to adolescence, underscoring the distal influence of childhood experiences. Yet, adolescence is marked by transitions that may provoke discontinuities, particularly within individuals, their contexts, and their interactions within those contexts. These discontinuities occur at varied times, orders, and intensities for individual youth, suggesting that adolescence may be a developmental turning point where earlier life experiences may be mediated, reversed, or transformed by proximal events. This perspective piece emphasizes the importance of considering transitions, discontinuities, and developmental turning points in adolescence as well as their potential to explain heterogeneity in adolescent and adult outcomes. We explore one biological and one contextual transition in adolescence and highlight innovative theories and methods for investigating continuity and discontinuity dynamics across development, which could lead to new insights related to the adolescent period and its importance in shaping future life trajectories. The conventional approach of the local convergence analysis of an iterative method on R m , with m a natural number, depends on Taylor series expansion. This technique often requires the calculation of high-order derivatives. However, those derivatives may not be part of the proposed method(s). In this way, the method(s) can face several limitations, particularly the use of higher-order derivatives and a lack of information about a priori computable error bounds on the solution distance or uniqueness. In this paper, we address these drawbacks by conducting the local convergence analysis within the broader framework of a Banach space. We have selected an important family of high convergence order methods to demonstrate our technique as an example. However, due to its generality, our technique can be used on any other iterative method using inverses of linear operators along the same line. Our analysis not only extends in R m spaces but also provides convergence conditions based on the operators used in the method, which offer the applicability of the method in a broader area. Additionally, we introduce a novel semilocal convergence analysis not presented before in such studies. Both forms of convergence analysis depend on the concept of generalized continuity and provide a deeper understanding of convergence properties. Our methodology not only enhances the applicability of the suggested method(s) but also provides suitability for applied science problems. The computational results also support the theoretical aspects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The concept of living in harmony with the cosmos is difficult to grasp and has become misunderstood and misinterpreted in the Western tradition. However, it offers fruitful contributions to contemporary discourse by establishing a dialogue with Dewey's notion of aesthetic experience. For Dewey, as for Confucius, the world does not have an established order but must be achieved through the creation of new patterns or modes of interaction. Using a comparative methodology, this article analyzes the Deweyan and Confucian conceptions of nature and the relationship between human beings and the environment defended by both authors. This approach, which combines Dewey's philosophy and Confucius' thought, can contribute to our current world, a time of spiritual and natural crisis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
We study the problem of whether the centered Hardy–Littlewood maximal function of a singular function is absolutely continuous. For a parameter d ∈ (0 , 1) and a closed set E ⊂ [ 0 , 1 ] , let μ be a d-Ahlfors regular measure associated with E. We prove that for the cumulative distribution function f (x) = μ ([ 0 , x ]) its maximal function Mf is absolutely continuous. We then adapt our method to the multiparameter case and show that the same is true in the positive cone defined by these functions, i.e., for functions of the form f (x) = ∑ i = 1 n μ i ([ 0 , x ]) where { μ i } i = 1 n is any collection of d i -Ahlfors regular measures, d i ∈ (0 , 1) , associated with closed sets E i ⊂ [ 0 , 1 ] . This provides the first improvement of regularity for the classical centered maximal operator, and can be seen as a partial analogue of the result of Aldaz and Pérez Lázaro about the uncentered maximal operator. Urbanization has spurred the need for compact housing particularly in India. In this context, efforts have been made to design and build more compact, smaller-sized houses. However, there has been historically, 'a tiny house movement' in the late 19th century promoting the concept of purposefully building extremely compact living spaces. Nevertheless, the concept of designing houses for efficient living spaces remains an overlooked aspect. In India, under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana scheme, the government has made a proposal for constructing small houses specifically designed for economically weaker communities. Notably, Indian vernacular houses have always been designed to be efficient and responsive to the contexts. Given this, this paper examines the vernacular housing practices to determine if their principles could inspire modern tiny house designs. The research employs a literature survey and case study methods Within the case studies, it empoloys observations, visual analysis and spatial analysis. It analyzes vernacular houses in terms of aspects such as the area, use of space, socio-cultural factors and cost-effectiveness, etc. It concludes that India's rich vernacular architectural traditions have encapsulated the tenets that can buttress today's Tiny Houses. The research positions the global tiny house architectural movement as descended from traditional cultural concepts of optimized, viable housing intrinsic to India's antiquated vernacular construction. Insights from vernacular architecture reveal potential continuity between ancient and modern efficient housing models. This research paves the path to identify connections between vernacular and contemporary approaches to effective utilization of dwelling spaces. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The aim of this paper is to contribute to the ongoing discussion about the role of intuition and ambiguity in doing, teaching and learning mathematics. We start by discussing the ways in which limits and continuity are presented in Calculus textbooks, to illustrate some of the ambiguities, and to contrast them with precise and rigorous definitions and statements. Next, we offer a brief overview of the topological terms necessary to introduce the notion of a continuous function in the topological setting. We conclude by suggesting a way of presenting the concept of a continuous function appropriate for Calculus instruction, while still staying true to its topological roots. This paper is also a suggestion to mathematics instructors to consider modifying the way they introduce limits and continuity in their classrooms, by creating a balance (appropriate for their students!) between rigour on the one side and intuition and ambiguity on the other. While the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic upon higher education institutions has been well documented, less is known about how academics themselves responded to these rapid changes. This paper analyses the experiences of teacher education academics from Australia and New Zealand (n = 13) who were interviewed during lengthy pandemic lockdowns. Whilst rarely using the language of resistance, participants revealed multiple ways they navigated these seemingly totalising forces of neoliberalism through working to maintain quality education, collegiality, criticality and care. Using theory to help inform our understandings of resistance, our study identified three forms of resistance that were underpinned by feminist, post-structural and critical pedagogy theories. In the face of likely ongoing uncertainty into the future, paying attention to how academics navigated the pandemic provides valuable insights into forms of emergent resistance in moments of extreme precarity in higher education, and the importance of these for continuity and hope. EDITING - Abstract
Three problems exist in sequential facial image editing: discontinuous editing, inconsistent editing, and irreversible editing. Discontinuous editing is that the current editing can not retain the previously edited attributes. Inconsistent editing is that swapping the attribute editing orders can not yield the same results. Irreversible editing means that operating on a facial image is irreversible, especially in sequential facial image editing. In this work, we put forward three concepts and their corresponding definitions: editing continuity, consistency, and reversibility. Note that continuity refers to the continuity of attributes, that is, attributes can be continuously edited on any face. Consistency is that not only attributes meet continuity, but also facial identity needs to be consistent. To do so, we propose a novel model to achieve the goal of editing continuity, consistency, and reversibility. Furthermore, a sufficient criterion is defined to determine whether a model is continuous, consistent, and reversible. Extensive qualitative and quantitative experimental results validate our proposed model, and show that a continuous, consistent and reversible editing model has a more flexible editing function while preserving facial identity. We believe that our proposed definitions and model will have wide and promising applications in multimedia processing. Code and data are available at https://github.com/mickoluan/CCR. This study investigates the experiences of healthcare professionals in terms of what they found challenging when meeting terminally ill patients and their family. The study builds on 52 exam answers from nursing, social work, and physiotherapy students to explore their perceived challenges in patient and relative interactions, analyzed through qualitative content analysis. The findings showed that a lack of knowledge among doctors and nurses is challenging, likewise a lack of communication skills and deficient relationships due to lack of continuity. Nurses and doctors lack experience within palliative care, such as relief of physical, psychological, and existential pain. Through conversations on a regular basis with healthcare professionals, families can become better prepared for the end of life. Through knowledge and reflection, healthcare professionals can develop higher competence on how to communicate with dying patients and their family. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Effective and uninterrupted management of the healthcare supply chain and healthcare system preparedness for natural disasters (e.g., pandemics, earthquakes, forest fires, etc.) is essential to ensure that victims receive critical healthcare services and products with minimal disruption, even in the event of damage to transport and logistics infrastructure as a result of significant disasters. The article examines this issue using the example of Vital Health Systems, a prominent hospital system with multiple facilities across a wide region. The qualitative data for the study was collected through interviews and focus groups with key stakeholders in Vital Health Systems, including supply chain managers, procurement specialists, frontline staff, etc. The quantitative data for the study were based on reports, internal documentation and archival documents, industry reports, market research, government databases. Analysis of the supply chain resilience of Vital Health Systems to natural disasters was carried out using the PESTLE framework, based on which a comprehensive risk reduction strategy was proposed. This strategy, while rooted in theory, is highly practical and feasible, with measures to optimise stocks, creation of alternative transport routes and logistics networks, and use of technological solutions. Organisational and managerial proposals for minimising supply chain disruptions for Vital Health Systems in the event of natural disasters are based on the theory of transformational leadership, Denison's organisational culture, Levitt's diamond model, and McKinsey's theory of strategic horizons. The role of healthcare professionals, supply chain managers, procurement specialists, and researchers in healthcare management and disaster preparedness is crucial in implementing these strategies. This paper aimed to further introduce the finite element analysis of non-smooth data for semilinear stochastic subdiffusion problems driven by fractionally integrated additive noise. The mild solution of this stochastic model consisted of three different Mittag-Leffer functions. We analyzed the smoothness of the solution and utilized complex integration to approximate the error of the solution operator under non-smooth data. Consequently, optimal convergence estimates were obtained, and we also obtained the continuity conditions of the mild solution. Finally, the influence of the fractional parameters α and γ on the convergence rates were accurately demonstrated through numerical examples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigates students' difficulties and misconceptions with learning limits and explores the factors contributing to these misconceptions. The study used a mixed method approach, and the participants comprised 252 students and 21 teachers. Data collection methods included the Limits and Continuity of Functions Achievement Test, classroom observations, and focus group interviews. The study's findings revealed significant differences in the mean scores of the Limits and Continuity of Functions Achievement Test among different representations. It also identified that students' misconceptions stemmed from their limited exposure to active learning approaches and their tendency to rely on rote memorization. The study pointed out that teaching strategies, along with students' haste in providing responses, contributed to these misconceptions and learning difficulties. The fast -paced nature of teaching aimed at covering the syllabus requirements also played a role in creating knowledge gaps and reinforcing misconceptions. Through continuous professional development, this study recommends improving mathematics teachers' content, pedagogical knowledge of teaching and learning limits, and continuity of functions. Currently, the high voltage testing method is widely used to detect pinholes and porosity defects in dielectric coatings. However, most modern coatings also have requirements for the minimum allowable coating thickness. Conducting tolerance tests on the thickness of dielectric coatings concurrently along with monitoring integrity within a single technological process appears promising. Additionally, mitigating the impact of various interfering parameters is crucial. This paper conducts a theoretical and experimental examination of spark formation processes in both gas and dielectrics. This analysis takes place during the identification of both through and non-through defects in dielectric coatings on conductive substrates. The principles of selecting the test voltage for the investigated dielectric coatings, considering the need to detect both through defects and inadmissible thinning, are theoretically and experimentally justified. It is suggested to utilize a probabilistic approach for evaluating the detectability of the mentioned defects. It is demonstrated that, when the dielectric strength of the coating is known, it is feasible to identify both through and non-through defects in coatings with a calculated probability under a specified test voltage. The conditions of occurrence of partial discharges in the process of testing are investigated, and measures to suppress their influence on the inspection results are proposed. The influence of the substrate surface roughness on the magnitude of the breakdown voltage during testing is considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TT
□ C is a generic family of effectful, extensional type theories with a forcing interpretation parameterized by modalities. This paper identifies a subclass of TT□ C theories that internally realizes continuity principles through stateful computations, such as reference cells. The principle of continuity is a seminal property that holds for a number of intuitionistic theories such as System T. Roughly speaking, it states that functions on real numbers only need approximations of these numbers to compute. Generally, continuity principles have been justified using semantical arguments, but it is known that the modulus of continuity of functions can be computed using effectful computations such as exceptions or reference cells. In this paper, the modulus of continuity of the functionals on the Baire space is directly computed using the stateful computations enabled internally in the theory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

Background: Embracing women’s experiences in decision-making is imperative for continuity in effective coordination of maternal and neonatal health (MNH); women are the end users within the care ecosystem. Through women’s continuous feedback, skilled birth attendants (SBAs) and the healthcare system get to understand emerging issues based on their needs and preferences. Aim: The purpose of this article is to describe women’s experiences of continuity for effective coordination of care through the transitions in the MNH continuum in Kenya. Setting: The study was conducted in selected counties of Kenya based on birth rates per woman as follows: Wajir (7.8) Narok (6.0) Kirinyaga (2.3) and Nairobi (2.7) (1). The clients were interviewed concerning their experiences of the MNH continuum of care in English and Kiswahili. Methods: An interpretive hermeneutic phenomenological approach was used to construct the experiences of women of continuity during transitions in the MNH continuum for effective care coordination. Twelve participants were interviewed between January and April 2023. Atlas ti 22 software was used for data analysis. Results: Four women experiences were highlighted: Women unawareness of preconception care, use of prenatal care, labour, birthing and postpartum flow and the women’s view on the MNH continuum. Conclusion: The women reported their segmental and transitional experience of the MNH continuum as one that did not consistently meet their needs and preferences in order for them to fully agree that the continuum enhanced continuity for effective coordination. They felt that they experienced continuity in some segments while in some they did not. Contribution: The embrace of women’s experience of their needs and preferences through the MNH continuum (segments and transitional segments) through the lens of continuity for effective coordination is timely towards the improvement of maternal and neonatal care by 2030.

Computer graphics is a dynamic field that heavily relies on mathematical techniques. For instance, subdivision scheme is used to create smooth and visually appealing curves and surfaces of arbitrary topology. The primary focus of this study is to transform two 5-point binary subdivision schemes into a single 7-point binary subdivision scheme with shape control. We have merged two binary approximating schemes that were constructed using the uniform B-spline basis function and the Lagrange basis function into a new subdivision scheme. It has been demonstrated that, for fixed values of the global shape control parameters, the curves generated by the proposed 7-point binary subdivision scheme maintain C6 continuity everywhere. Furthermore, a brief discussion on the analysis of the Gibbs phenomenon in the new subdivision scheme has been presented. This is also a reminder of the challenges and intricacies involved in computer graphics and geometric modeling.

Sixty (35 girls and 25 boys) 9th-grade students’ conceptual understanding of the number line was qualitatively assessed through verbal explanations and visual representations. The assessment included an open-ended question focused on students’ number line descriptions and the explanations coalesced around six features: sequential ordering (i.e., numbers are sequentially represented), positivity-negativity of numbers (i.e., the number line contains positive and negative numbers), non-centrality (i.e., zero does not have to be in the center), infinity, increment flexibility (i.e., number line increments can vary), and continuity (i.e., numbers can be placed anywhere between minus infinity and plus infinity without breaks). The students’ explanations show that these six features emerge in five successive stages in the conceptual understanding of the number line. These stages are (1) no knowledge, (2) sequential ordering and positivity-negativity, (3) infinity and non-centrality, (4) incremental flexibility, and (5) continuity. The last two stages were not found in most descriptions. The results suggest that students’ understanding of the number line is incomplete and may be overestimated by commonly used quantitative assessments of number line knowledge.

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the sufficient conditions that guarantee the stability, continuity, and boundedness of solutions for a type of second-order stochastic delay integro-differential equation (SDIDE). To demonstrate the main results, we employ a Lyapunov functional. An example is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the obtained result, which includes the results of this paper and obtains better results than those available in the literature.

This paper studies the concept of fuzzy generalized topologies, which are generalizations of smooth topologies and Chang's fuzzy topologies. A basis of fuzzy generalized topological space will be defined as functions from the family of all fuzzy subsets of a non-empty set $ X $ to $ [0, 1] $ and some basic properties of their structure will be obtained. Some characterizations of the basis of fuzzy generalized topology, fuzzy generalized cotopology and the product of fuzzy generalized topological spaces will also be shown.

This study seeks to examine the perspectives of family business owners and CEOs in Argentina on the necessary topics and elements to include in a family protocol that enhances family business continuity. Our model connects both Agency Theory and Stewardship Theory to the protocol with a focus on its impact on continuity. Data was collected through a survey completed by 220 family businesses in Argentina. Structural Equation Modeling was utilized to verify the model. The survey respondents' perception indicates that a family protocol aids the continuation of a family enterprise when it includes norms that diminish agency issues and promote stewardship behavior. Board formation regulation and family-business relation management are norms that lead to reducing agency issues. Thus, it is regarded as an efficient mechanism to avert or resolve conflicts without detrimental effects. Elements that endorse stewardship conduct include those that facilitate the emergence of a shared perspective, sense of membership, values, principles, traditions, and culture concerning both the content and the process. Accordingly, the two theories would be complementary.
