Organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite nanocrystals have become a very widely used as semiconductor light-emitting materials. However, perovskite nanocrystals face stability challenges, which is a key factor hindering their application. In this paper, by introducing water into the synthesis of formamidinium lead bromide (FAPbBr3) perovskite, ultra-stable FAPbBr3@PbBr(OH) fluorescent material was prepared. The photoluminescence intensity of the material after the addition of water increased 2.9 times compared with that before the addition of water. The excellent green fluorescence emission was still maintained after four cycles of wash–dry treatment. Meanwhile, it also exhibits good ultraviolet and thermal stability. The above enhanced performance of FAPbBr3 nanocrystals is attributed the protection of PbBr(OH). In addition, the prepared material can be used in anti-counterfeit patterns. The anti-counterfeit patterns have good color rendering and the luminous color has a high dependence on temperature. Carbon-doped InGaAsBi films on InP/Fe (100) substrates have been grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). It has been found that Bismuth incorporation induces extremely high n-type carbon-doped InGaAsBi films, and its electron concentration increases linearly up to 10 cm (highest reported to date for n-type III-V semiconductor materials) with increased CBr supply pressure, implying InGaAsBi to be a prospective ohmic contact material for InP-based terahertz transistors. It also has been proved by secondary ion mass spectroscopy that the alloy composition of carbon-doped InGaAsBi is altered by the preferential etching effect of CBr, but the etching effect on the Bi content is negligible. Plants undergo several but very precise molecular, physiological, and biochemical modulations in response to biotic stresses. Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades orchestrate multiple cellular processes including plant growth and development as well as plant responses against abiotic and biotic stresses. However, the role of MAPK kinases (MAPKKs/MKKs/MEKs) in the regulation of plant resistance to herbivores has not been extensively investigated. Here, we cloned a rice MKK gene, OsMKK3, and investigated its function. It was observed that mechanical wounding, infestation of brown planthopper (BPH) Nilaparvata lugens, and treatment with methyl jasmonate (MeJA) or salicylic acid (SA) could induce the expression of OsMKK3. The over-expression of OsMKK3 (oe-MKK3) increased levels of jasmonic acid (JA), jasmonoyl-L-isoleucine (JA-Ile), and abscisic acid (ABA), and decreased SA levels in rice after BPH attack. Additionally, the preference for feeding and oviposition, the hatching rate of BPH eggs, and BPH nymph survival rate were significantly compromised due to over-expression of OsMKK3. Besides, oe-MKK3 also augmented chlorophyll content but impaired plant growth. We confirm that MKK3 plays a pivotal role in the signaling pathway. It is proposed that OsMKK3 mediated positive regulation of rice resistance to BPH by means of herbivory-induced phytohormone dynamics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Auger recombination is an ultrafast and unnegligible photophysical process in colloidal semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) due to competition with charge separation or radiative recombination processes, pivotal for their applications ranging from bio-labeling, light-emitting diodes, QD lasing to solar energy conversion. Among diverse QDs, ternary chalcopyrite is recently receiving significant attention for its heavy-metal free property and remarkable optical performance. Given deficient understanding of the Auger process for ternary chalcopyrite QDs, CuInS 2 QDs with various sizes are synthesized as a representative and the bi-exciton lifetime (τ BX ) is derived by virtue of ultrafast time resolved absorption spectrum. The trend of τ BX varying with size is consistent with the universal scaling of τ BX versus QD volume (V): τ BX  = γV. The scaling factor γ is 6.6 ± 0.5 ps·nm -3 for CuInS 2 QDs, and the bi-exciton Auger lifetime is 4-5 times slower than typical CdSe QDs with the same volume, suggesting reduced Auger recombination rate in ternary chalcopyrite. This work facilitates clearer understanding of Auger process and provides further insight for rational design of light-harvesting and emitting devices based on ternary chalcopyrite QDs.
