In this paper, an electric vehicle insulation detection method with single side switching fixed resistance is designed, and the hardware and software design of the system are given. The experiment proves that the insulation detection system can detect the insulation resistance in a wide range of resistance values, and accurately report the fault level. This system can effectively monitor the insulation fault between the car body and the high voltage line and avoid the passengers from being injured.

Telecommunication networks already store a large amount of subscriber data (e.g., subscriber profile, location data, presence information), and even more data could be captured. Although this data is a key asset of telecommunication network operators, it is seldom fully exploited. This article proposes a novel architecture to enable the provisioning of new value-added services, based on subscriber data. This architecture uses semantic web to build a knowledge base from the subscriber data available in individual telecommunication networks. KBs are then federated across telecommunication networks to provide a single and unified interface to service providers for accessing the different KBs. The article also illustrates the use of the proposed architecture in a concrete scenario, and presents a proof-of-concept prototype.

The analysis of statistic data from real-time driving cycle of hybrid electric vehicle shows relationships that help to optimize control strategy. This paper presents a remote self-learning platform based on general packer radio service (GPRS) for control strategy optimization to hybrid electric vehicle. The platform adopts an in-vehicle device to acquire real-time driving data through CAN bus and communicate wirelessly with central server by GPRS network and INTERNET. A fast clustering method is introduced to classify real-time driving data as different driving cycle. According to driving cycle, online statistical analysis is implemented in central server to obtain energy consumption result, and the optimized control strategy is updated by in-vehicle device. During the process of update to control strategy, the wireless communication quality is a vital factor for completeness of data. A Model-based control algorithm to solve wireless network congestion problem is realized depending on the characteristics of the communication quality. The test result shows that the communication process can be improved greatly and the communication quality is increased 30% at least by this algorithm. The transmission load would be reduced automatically in order to make the communication be normal as soon as possible when the network is under congestion.The study shows that the remote self-learning platform is effective to define and characterize driving cycle of hybrid electric vehicle. In the sample application, remote self-learning platform plays an importance role in optimizing the control and energy management strategy of hybrid electric vehicle.

A new group messaging service (Common Community Conversation — C3) is proposed to facilitate people to have a group conversation with their friends on different social networks. This survey is conducted on group messaging and chat services in telecom networks as well as social networks. The requirements for group C3 service are made based upon the market trend analysis and drawbacks of the existing group messaging services. The architecture and C3 messaging protocol are designed to fulfill these requirements. OpenFire XMPP server is selected to prototype the concept of the group C3 service. Finally main test cases are run to demonstrate that the group C3 service works across different social networks.

This paper describes a method for calibrating the accuracy and linearity in quadrature part of the lock-in amplifier at mV ranges. The method is based on the use of the four-terminal mutual inductor and three-branch binary inductive current divider (BICD). The measurement standard uncertainties are presented at frequencies from 20 kHz to 200 kHz.

Evaluation of the dynamic performance characteristics of several different types of electrical energy meters using experimental equipment are presented, including the development of the dynamic power source, the selection of the standard meter to provide reference values, and the estimation of the uncertainties. Their behaviors and results are reported and analyzed.

Considerations are given on special features as part of their performance specifications related to the definitions of harmonic error, including other special effects in harmonic measurements are discussed.

Grouping messaging is one of popular communication tools nowadays in both internet and telecom network. It can also be viewed as one of optional service features for different applications/services, e.g. instant messaging, chat, file transfer, MMS, SMS and etc. The range or scope of message propagation is normally limited to the boundary of a well defined group. With the rapid evolution of social network services, the boundary of traditional group communication has been extended. It allows service users to reach more friends or others in a virtual world. In order to response the demand for an extended group communication in the telecom network, especially in IMS network, a new IMS based community messaging is proposed. The basic concept is to make use of some key words that are shared by different groups to glue different group members together. The mechanism to control the range of message propagation is provided. The detailed description of main use cases as well as traffic flows is provided. The benefits of the proposed solution are discussed.
