Developing cooling textiles with unidirectional water transport performances and high thermal conductivities is essential for personal thermal and wet comfort in human activities. We report a green, degradable, hygroscopic cooling material and dual-cooling composite fabric (d-CCF). A boron nitride nanosheet/regenerated flax fiber (BNNS/RFF) material with a high thermal conductivity was prepared by dissolving recovered flax fibers with a green, efficient 1-butyl-3-methylimidazole chloride/dimethyl sulfoxide system and adding BNNSs. The 60- wt% BNNS/RFF materials had excellent thermal conductivity and hydrophilicity, the breaking strength reached 120 MPa, and the elongation was 15.8 %. The d-CCF consisted of cool polyester (CPET) yarn (inner layer), CPET/bamboo composite yarn (middle layer), bamboo yarn, and 60- wt% BNNS/RFF (outer layer) with unobstructed heat dissipation and evaporation cooling for effective moisture and thermal management. Due to the accelerated development of social science and technology, the development of modern science and technology is in urgent need of a large number of innovative scientific and technological talents, and the CDIO teaching mode based on the combination of practice and theory is receiving more and more attention in undergraduate teaching. CDIO teaching mode is a new education mode that has achieved remarkable results in the current higher engineering education. It always aims to train a new generation of international modern engineers. This paper introduces the proposal, background and application of CDIO, and embodies the effect of combining with the talent training program of biopharmaceutical engineering.

The study aimed to improve polysaccharide-based packaging to extend the shelf life of fresh produce; a composite film with antimicrobial function was developed and tested. The packaging film is a blend of agar, a film-forming substrate; carrageenan, as a reinforcing agent; glycerol, as a plasticizer; and Nisin, an antimicrobial agent. The film was evaluated for its antibacterial, mechanical, and barrier properties at different humidity levels, using fresh-cut watermelon as the test food material. The film effectively inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes. Under relative humidity of 20%, 50%, and 90%, the tensile strength of the antibacterial film containing 0.28% Nisin was 23.08 ± 0.65, 16.09 ± 1.73, and 6.52 ± 0.56 MPa, respectively, and the film also had excellent barrier and heat-sealing properties. The packaging test using fresh-cut watermelon sealed in the antibacterial film containing 0.28% Nisin, under controlled atmosphere storage at either 4 °C or 20 °C, effectively inhibited microbial colonization in the melon and slowed the deterioration of the fruit, as indicated by measures of hardness, weight loss, and soluble solids. This method can extend the shelf life of fresh-cut fruit and provide a reference for further research on polysaccharide-based protective film for fresh produce.

In order to explore the distribution and transfer of lead elements in soil and rice in the five regions of Chahayang, Wuchang, Fangzheng, Xiangshui and Jiansanjiang in Heilongjiang Province, and analyze the impact of rice intake on human health, the samples were tested by ICP-MS. Modeling the lead-element transfer in the soil-rice system, using the Nemero comprehensive pollution index method and the health risk assessment model to evaluate the lead pollution status of rice in the study area and its health risks to adults and children. The results showed that the average content of lead in rice in the study area was Chahayang 0.02 mg/kg, Wuchang 0.03 mg/kg, Fangzheng 0.017 mg/kg, Xiangshui 0.023 mg/kg and Jiansanjiang. 0.024 mg/kg did not exceed the lead content limit specified by China's National Food Hygiene Standard (0.2 mg/kg); Based on the prediction model of heavy metal lead content, pH value, and organic matter in the soil, the transfer of lead elements in the soil-rice system of Chahayang, Fangzheng, Xiangshui, and Jiansanjiang rice fields can be significantly described, with R2 values ranging from 0.224 to 0.419; Both the pollution index and the comprehensive pollution index in the study area were less than 1, which belong to the non-pollution category. The health risk index of heavy metal lead for adults and children in all five regions is lower than the maximum acceptable risk level recommended by USEPA, and there is no risk of causing cancer.

There is an increasing understanding of the importance of biochar-based fertilizers in agroecosystems. However, no research has evaluated the effects of partial substitution of urea with biochar-based urea on rice yields and soil microbial communities. We therefore investigated the rice yields, bacterial communities, and gene abundance involved in nitrogen in silty clay and sandy loam soil paddy fields treated with urea (U), total substitution of urea with biochar-based urea (BSU), partial substitution of urea with biochar-based urea in basal and tillering fertilizers (BSU1), and partial substitution of urea with biochar-based urea in panicle fertilizers (BSU2).Compared with U, applying biochar-based urea increased rice yields, with BSU2 having the most notable effect. Principal coordinate analysis revealed that bacterial communities treated with BSU2 in both soils were significantly different from those treated with U and BSU, most probably due to the decrease in pH caused by the decrease in the concentration of ammonium. The relative abundance of Subdivision3_genera_incertae_sedis, Azotobacter, Geobacter, Buchnera, and Terrimonas in silty clay soils and Saccharibacteria_genera_incertae_sedis and Geobacter in sandy loam soils significantly increased when treated with BSU2 and was positively correlated with rice yields, indicating that the improvements in rice yield were associated with changes in bacterial communities. Based upon amoA/narG related to nitrate accumulation and norB/nosZ related to nitrous oxide emissions, BSU2 enabled a lower risk of nitrate leaching and nitrous oxide emissions in both soils, in comparison with the U and BSU treatments.The BSU2 treatment had a stronger yield-increasing effect than biochar-based urea alone and lowered the risk of nitrogen pollution, which is beneficial to the sustainable development of paddy fields. © 2022 Society of Chemical Industry.

With the continuous practice of the “Belt and Road” initiative, the countries along the “Belt and Road” have achieved rapid social and economic development. However, environmental problems have become increasingly prominent. Around the world, there are comments that China’s “Belt and Road” initiative is a result of resource plundering, transfer of backward production capacity, and environmental degradation of countries along the line. This study quantitatively evaluated the static, dynamic, linear, and non-linear effects of China’s foreign direct investment on the carbon emissions of countries along the line. The results showed that: (1) The direct effect of China’s foreign direct investment on the carbon emissions of countries along the route was significantly negative. (2) The economic scale and industrial structure effects of China’s foreign direct investment increased the carbon emissions of countries along the route. The production technology effect suppressed the carbon emissions of countries along the route and played a leading role. (3) The estimation results of the system generalized method of moments showed that the carbon emissions of countries along the route were significantly affected by the lag period, but the impact was small. (4) The results of the threshold regressive model showed that the GDP and proportion of industrial added value had significant threshold effects on the carbon emissions effect of China’s outward foreign direct investment. When the GDP of countries along the route exceeded 7.2696, China’s outward foreign direct investment carbon emissions reduction effect could not be realized; when the proportion of the industrial added value of countries along the route was lower than 4.0106, China’s outward foreign direct investment carbon emission reduction effect could not be realized. Based on the research conclusion, we concluded that China and countries along the “Belt and Road” should strengthen cooperation on carbon emissions reduction, jointly promote low-carbon construction of industrial parks, accelerate cooperation on green energy projects, and establish a green development fund to achieve sustainable development of the countries along the “Belt and Road”.

This article presents a cost-efficient flexible chipless radio frequency identification (RFID) tag with wireless humidity sensing, which is fabricated by in situ metallization and inkjet printing techniques. The inkjet printing technique is applied to print the mask for RFID antenna, which is designed with frequency-encoding simulation by a high-frequency structure simulator (HFSS). A high-quality patterned Ag antenna is realized by the in situ metallization of a polyimide (PI) film, leading to strong adhesion between the Ag antenna and PI substrate. The patterned Ag antenna of the chipless RFID tag consists three parallel dipole resonators, one of which is sensitive to humidity, while the other two are utilized to encode and store data. As a result, a 2-bit chipless RFID with high humidity sensitivity based on a Ag/PI film is developed, which displays excellent flexibility and good mechanical stability. The performance of the fabricated tag shows good agreement with the simulation results. Moreover, the tag is applied to detect the water source, where the resonance frequency shows good linearity versus the distance to the water source. These results demonstrate that the proposed chipless RFID tag with humidity sensing has a 2-bit storage capacity, high humidity sensitivity, excellent mechanical properties, and long-term stability, confirming a cost-efficient preparation process for flexible electronics.

The present experimental investigation aims to discover the effect of hydrothermal aging on the mechanical properties of virgin and recycled PSU, as well as the effect of hydrothermal aging on the long-term durability including stress relaxation and creep properties of virgin and recycled PSU. Virgin and recycled PSU specimens were exposed to pure hot water at temperatures of 98 °C for 1, 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 9, and 12 months, respectively. Mechanical test of tensile, three-point bending, impact, and fracture toughness was carried out on those aged specimens. To obtain the long-term stress relaxation and creep property, a series of short-time stress relaxation and creep tests were performed by using dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), and the master curve of long-term stress relaxation modulus and creep compliance was drawn by shifting those short relaxation and creep curve based on the time–temperature superposition principle (TTSP). It was finally concluded that the virgin PSU exhibits excellent hydrothermal aging resistance in tensile, flexural, impact and fracture toughness, stress relaxation, and creep properties, even if it was aged in 98 °C hot water for 1 year. Although the tensile and flexural properties of the unaged recycle PSU are similar to those of virgin PSU, the hydrothermal aging resistance in tensile, flexural, stress relaxation, and creep properties of recycled PSU is worse than that of virgin PSU. In addition, the activation energy required for stress relaxation of PSU is same with that for creep.

Objective: The present study characterizes bacteria with biodegradation ability and optimize the growth conditions of Myo-inositol hexakisphosphate phosphohydrolase (MIPH). Methods: Out of the 15 bacterial isolates, one strain SM01 showed the highest MIPH activity was selected based on the diameter of halo zone formation on calcium phytate plates. SM01 strain was identified as a Serratia marcescens with the highest phytate activity which was further confirmed by partial sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene. Results: MIPH enzyme was purified from Serratia strain which was found to exhibit a highly-specific MIPH activity and high specificity to the phytic acid but negligible activity against the other substrates tested. The purified MIPH enzyme had an isoelectric point of 6.8 and Molecular weight to 60 kDa. The degradative ability of Serratia marscescens shown that both the culture and the purified enzyme had maximum MIPH activity at the 36 h of incubation. 0.5 U/ml concentration of the purified MIPH enzyme was found to show similar activity as the 108 cfu/ml culture tested. Conclusion: Serratia marcescens SM01 strain was capable of degrading hydrocarbons due to their varied strategies to produce the MIPH enzyme. This could be made useful in the biodegradation of polluted soils and the environment.

Objective: This paper uses color Doppler ultrasound technology to study the hemodynamic characteristics of portal hypertension and splenectomy plus pericardial vascular disruption, to understand the pathogenesis of portal hypertension, and to understand the spleen. The effects of resection and pericardial vascular dissection on portal vein and hepatic artery hemodynamics were analyzed. Methods: Nine male in our hospital’s hepatobiliary surgery from January 2017 to December 2018 were selected. The preoperative upper gastrointestinal barium meal or gastroscopy confirmed that all patients had moderate to severe esophageal and gastric fundus. The surgical method was splenectomy and pericardial vascular disconnection. Color Doppler ultrasound was performed on portal vein and hepatic arterial hemodynamics to observe the presence or absence of portal vein thrombosis. Result: Preoperative hemodynamic status of the case group: the diameter of the hepatic artery was (0.34±0.01) cm, the value is 0.34 cm; the maximum flow velocity of the hepatic artery was (64.6±5.0) cm/s, the value of 64.7 cm/s; The postoperative hemodynamic status of the case group: the diameter of the hepatic artery was (0.41±0.02) cm, the value of 0.41 cm; the maximum flow velocity of the hepatic artery was (88.5±6.1) cm/s, the value of 89.6 cm/s. Conclusion: Color Doppler ultrasound has obvious application value in the treatment of pericardial vascular diseases. 1 splenectomy and pericardial vascular disconnection can increase the flow of hepatic artery, and reduce the total blood flow into the liver after surgery. The proportion of hepatic arterial blood flow increased, and the oxygen supply to increase.

Color transfer in image processing usually suffers from misleading color mapping and loss of details. This paper presents a novel directive local color transfer method based on dynamic look-up table (D-DLT) to solve these problems in two steps. First, a directive mapping between the source and the reference image is established based on the salient detection and the color clusters to obtain directive color transfer intention. Then, dynamic look-up tables are created according to the color clusters to preserve the details, which can suppress pseudo contours and avoid detail loss. Subjective and objective assessments are presented to verify the feasibility and the availability of the proposed approach. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method has better performance on natural color images than classical color transfer algorithms. Furthermore, the reference image can be extended to color blocks instead of images.

Large-scale microwave remote sensing research requires multiple synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image mosaics. However, owing to multiple factors, different SAR images frequently exhibit intensity differences. This leads to poor intensity continuity after mosaicking, making SAR image interpretation extremely difficult. The existing method assumes that SAR images have been subject to strict radiometric calibration and mainly focuses on intensity balancing to minimize the intensity difference between adjacent images. This method is not effective when the intensity difference between SAR images is large. In this paper, a novel random cross-observation intensity consistency (RCOIC) algorithm is proposed to eliminate the intensity differences for SAR image mosaics. The proposed algorithm is based on global intensity constraints. First, source images are downsampled. Then, the gain correction coefficients of each image in a study area are accurately estimated through random cross-observation. Further, multi-view local intensity correction of each image in the study area is performed using the overlapping areas of adjacent images, and a low-resolution intensity reference map covering the study area is generated. Finally, the intensities of high-resolution source images are corrected by constructing local independent linear models of images based on the low-resolution intensity reference map. Gaofen-3 satellite images with large ranges and large time differences, covering most of China's land area, were selected to test the effect of the newly developed algorithm. After processing, the overall visual effect was good after mosaicking, the intensity transitions at the edges of the images were smooth, the intensity distributions corresponded better to actual ground objects, and the statistical result of adjacent images overlapping regions was good. This validates the reliability of the algorithm.

Containers have been a pervasive approach to help rapidly develop, test and update the Internet of Things applications (IoT). The autoscaling of containers can adaptively allocate computing resources for various data volumes over time. Therefore, elasticity, a critical feature of a cloud platform, is significant to measure the performance of lightweight containers. In this paper, we propose a framework with container auto-scaler. It monitors containers resource usage and accordingly scales in or scales out containers in need. Further, we define elasticity mathematically in order to quantify the cloud elasticity using the proposed framework. Extensive experiments are carried out with different workload modes, workload durations, and scaling cool-down period of times. Experiment results show that the framework captures the workload variation firmly with a very short delay. We also find out that the cloud platform shows the best elasticity in repeat workload mode due to its recurring and predictable feature. Finally, we discover the length of the cool-down period should be properly set up in order to balance system stability and good elasticity.

With the development of deep learning technology, the automated grayscale image colorization methods have been widely used. As color space is very important in colorization, we analyzed 3 different color spaces, named YUV, Lab, and HSV. We used deep learning methods to evaluate the effect of different color spaces to image colorization methods. The colorization method was based on the VGG16 and the Residual Encoder model. The results demonstrated that the quality of color transfer in the YUV and Lab color spaces is better than that in the HSV color space.

Background Both Ligament Advanced Reinforcement System(LARS) and hamstring tendon autograft can serve as grafts for posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction but few studies compared their differences.This study aimed to compare the clinical efficacy of arthroscopic reconstruction of PCL with LARS and hamstring tendon autograft. Methods 36 patients who had received PCL reconstruction under arthroscopy were retrospectively analyzed. 15 patients received reconstruction using LARS (LARS group) and 21 using hamstring tendon autograft (HT group). The pre- and post-operative subjective scores and knee stability were evaluated. Results 36 patients were followed up for a period of 2 to 10.5 years (4.11±2.0 years on average). The last follow-up showed that functional scores and knee stability were all significantly improved in both groups (PPP>0.05). In LARS group and HT group, 12 and 9 patients, respectively had KT1000 values less than 3 mm, with the difference being statistically significant (PPConclusion Both LARS and hamstring tendon could achieve good clinical efficacy for PCL reconstruction ，but patients in LARS group had faster functional recovery and better knee stability. LARS is especially suitable for those who hope to resume activities as early as possible.

The HY-1C satellite, as part of China&rsquo, s optical satellite constellation for global oceanmonitoring, monitors the ocean and coastal environment by the three broad visible bands ofthe Coastal Zone Imager (CZI) instrument. However, as a result of the sensor instrument noise,the atmospheric environment during imaging, and the shooting angle, the satellite images often showuneven illumination and inconsistent color between neighboring images. In this paper, accordingto the characteristics of the HY-1C CZI instrument, we propose a color consistency processingframework for coastal zone images of Antarctica. First of all, the high-frequency and low-frequencyinformation of the image is separated by a statistical filter with simple clustering. The uneven lightingis then replaced by artificial lighting, which is globally uniform. Finally, the color difference betweenimages is corrected by a color transfer method. In order to evaluate the color consistency resultsquantitatively, a new quantitative evaluation method is proposed. The experimental results for thecoastal zone images of Antarctica show that the new processing framework can effectively eliminatethe unevenness in the lighting and color. The mosaic results show a good performance in consistentlighting and tones, and the lack of visible mosaic lines proves the effectiveness of the proposedmethod. The quantitative evaluation analysis confirms the superiority of the proposed method overthe Wallis method.

Zygosaccharomyces rouxii produces high levels of 4-hydroxy-2,5-dimethyl-3(2H)-furanone in YPD medium supplemented with 120 g/L D-fructose and 180 g/L NaCl after 5 d. D-fructose has a stress effect on Z. rouxii, and GSH-Px is a main enzyme involved in the defense of Z. rouxii against oxygen stress according to our previous report. In order to further explore the molecular mechanism of the glutathione metabolism pathway in Z. rouxii in response to D-fructose stress, changes in the expression of genes and proteins involved in the synthesis of glutathione precursor amino acids and enzymes were observed. In addition, changes in the intermediates related to glutathione synthesis in Z. rouxii were reported. The results indicated that some gene-encoding enzymes involved in the glutamate, cysteine and glycine biosynthesis pathways and key genes involved in glutathione synthesis were upregulated. The expression levels of other genes, except SHMT, were consistent with the qRT-PCR results. The contents of γ-glutamylcysteine and glutathione amide in the D-fructose group were higher than those in the control group. In the D-fructose stress groups, the metabolic flux towards glutathione synthesis was increased. These results might provide more in-depth and detailed theoretical support for the oxidative stress defense mechanism of Z. rouxii under D-fructose stress.

The influence of reused times on the characteristics and properties of Ti6Al4V (TC4) powder and resulting bulk materials were systematically investigated in additive manufacturing by electron beam melting (EBM). Optical microscope, X-ray diffraction and nano-indentation were used to characterize the powders. Optical microscope results indicated that the microstructure evolved from non-equilibrium to equilibrium state of α and β phase with increasing reuse times. The micro-hardness and Young’s modulus of reused powders were enhanced with the increase of reuse times. The tensile properties of bulk final product fabricated from the mixed powders were nearly equal or superior to that prepared by 100% fresh powder. In short, the mixing usage of initial and reused Ti6Al4V powders for additive manufacturing is acceptable.
