With the rapid increasing number of Web services in service network, how to discover the desired trustworthy service quickly and accurately has been a hot issue of service-oriented computing. In open network environment, the efficiency of trusted service discovery is low. Take advantage of the properties of "small-world", the paper proposed a trusted service discovery method which based on trust and recommendation relationships. Firstly, an open service network model with trust and recommendation relationships was proposed. The two relationships in the model were defined. Then, based on the model and the trust and recommendation relationships, a dynamic trusted service discovery algorithm was presented. The trusted service discovery method can reduce the searching path and search trusted services for service requester in a short time. Finally, the-results of the simulation experiences showed that this method can return satisfactory trusted services quickly and efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: A HPLC method using a NH2 column for determination of melamine was reported, with acetonitrile-H3PO4 (15 mmol L−1, pH = 6.5) (V/V = 88:12) as mobile phase and UV detection at 215 nm. The tested parameters included mobile phase composition, percentage of organic solvent, and buffer concentration, and pH value and UV detection wavelength. Good linearity was observed within the concentration range of 0.005–32 mg L−1 (n = 7, r = 0.9997), the detection limit was 0.003 mg L−1 (S/N = 3). The chromatography mode was considered to be hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC). The method was successfully applied to determine melamine in several dairy products, with acetonitrile as extract solvent of melamine and also as protein precipitant. Internet has become an important platform for people to get information, but not all the information from internet is true (or correct). For one thing, many data sources get data from fallible providers or copy from other data sources. For another thing, data sources inevitably make some mistakes in the process of providing data and consequently different data sources frequently provide conflict data. Untrue data can cause a loss to users, so it is important to identify truth data. This work proposed an algorithm to compute trust network of data sources based on the degree of agreement among data sources. Based on the trust network of data sources, this work proposed a trust-based method, called "TruData", by way of computing the trust values of data sources and data items, to discovery truth data. Background: The non-exercise estimated cardiorespiratory fitness (eCRF) has been recognized as an important predictor of mortality among the general population. This study sought to evaluate the relationship between eCRF and mortality from all causes, cardiovascular disease (CVD), and cancer in hypertensive adults., Methods: We included 27,437 adults with hypertension from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) III and 10 NHANES cycles from 1999 to 2018. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard models were used to assess the hazard ratios and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of eCRF for mortality., Results: A total of 8,023 deaths were recorded throughout a median 8.6-year follow-up, including 2,338 from CVD, and 1,761 from cancer. The eCRF with per 1 metabolic equivalent increase was linked to decreased risk of all-cause (adjusted HR 0.78, 95% CI: 0.75-0.81) and CVD mortality (adjusted HR 0.79, 95% CI: 0.74-0.84), rather than cancer mortality (adjusted HR 0.94, 95% CI: 0.86-1.03). Moreover, a stronger protective effect of eCRF was observed for females (HR 0.66 (95% CI: 0.62-0.72) versus HR 0.78 (95% CI: 0.73-0.83), Pinteraction < 0.001 for all-cause mortality; HR 0.70 (95% CI: 0.61-0.80;) versus HR 0.82 (95% CI: 0.73-0.92), Pinteraction = 0.026 for CVD mortality) compared with males. Findings did not significantly differ in subgroup analyses and sensitivity analyses., Conclusions: Among adults with hypertension, eCRF was inversely related to all-cause and CVD mortality, but not cancer mortality. A significant interaction effect existed between sex and eCRF. Further studies are needed to verify this association in different populations., (© The Author(s) 2024. Transfer RNA selenocysteine 1 associated protein 1 (Trnau1ap) serves an essential role in the synthesis of selenoproteins, which have critical functions in numerous biological processes. Selenium deficiency results in a variety of diseases, including cardiac disease. However, the mechanisms underlying myocardial injury induced by selenium deficiency remain unclear. The present study examined the effects of Trnau1ap under‑ and overexpression in cardiomyocyte‑like H9c2 cells, by transfection with small interfering RNA and an overexpression plasmid, respectively. Expression levels of glutathione peroxidase, thioredoxin reductase and selenoprotein K were decreased in Trnau1ap‑underexpressing cells, and increased in Trnau1ap‑overexpressing cells. Using MTT, proliferating cell nuclear antigen, annexin V and caspase‑3 activity assays, it was demonstrated that reducing Trnau1ap expression levels inhibited the proliferation of H9c2 cells and induced apoptosis. Conversely, increasing Trnau1ap expression levels promoted cell growth. Western blot analysis revealed that the phosphoinositide 3‑kinase/protein kinase B signaling pathway was activated in Trnau1ap‑underexpressing cells. Furthermore, the apoptotic pathway was activated in these cells, evidenced by relatively greater expression levels of B‑cell lymphoma (Bcl‑2)‑associated X protein and reduced expression levels of Bcl‑2. Taken together, these findings suggest that Trnau1ap serves a key role in the proliferation and apoptosis of H9c2 cells. The present study provides insight into the underlying mechanisms of myocardial injury induced by selenium deficiency.

Visual cortical prostheses have the potential to restore partial vision. Still limited by the low-resolution visual percepts provided by visual cortical prostheses, implant wearers can currently only "see" pixelized images, and how to obtain the specific brain responses to different pixelized images in the primary visual cortex (the implant area) is still unknown. We conducted a functional magnetic resonance imaging experiment on normal human participants to investigate the brain activation patterns in response to 18 different pixelized images. There were 100 voxels in the brain activation pattern that were selected from the primary visual cortex, and voxel size was 4 mm × 4 mm × 4 mm. Multi-voxel pattern analysis was used to test if these 18 different brain activation patterns were specific. We chose a Linear Support Vector Machine (LSVM) as the classifier in this study. The results showed that the classification accuracies of different brain activation patterns were significantly above chance level, which suggests that the classifier can successfully distinguish the brain activation patterns. Our results suggest that the specific brain activation patterns to different pixelized images can be obtained in the primary visual cortex using a 4 mm × 4 mm × 4 mm voxel size and a 100-voxel pattern.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected through methyl-ene-carbonyl C-H⋯O inter-actions into an infinite chain along the c axis. The almost parallel arrays are stacked, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Objective: To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) and the effect of antisense oligonucleotide (ASODN) upon lymph node metastasis of pancreatic cancer cell., Methods: We selected 15 cases of human pancreatic cancer and detected the expression of VEGF-C in primary tumor and lymph node metastasis tissues with immunohistochemistry. Meanwhile, the spontaneous lymphatic metastasis model in nude mice was established with orthotopic implantation for the human pancreatic cancer cell line PANC-1, isolation and culture of primary tumor and spontaneous lymphatic metastasis. The effect of VEGF-C special ASODN upon the apoptosis of pancreatic cancer cell derived from primary tumor and spontaneous lymphatic metastasis were detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), flow cytometer and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated-dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL)., Results: In tissues of human pancreatic cancer, the values of VEGF-C on lymph nodes metastasis were more higher than primary tumor (P < 0.05). About the expression of VEGF-C on pancreatic cancer cell derived from spontaneous lymphatic metastasis and primary tumor in nude mice model, the mRNA levels of VEGF-C were 0.87 +/- 0.11 and 0.61 +/- 0.15 respectively, the VEGF-C levels in culture supernatants were (1682 +/- 157) pg/ml and (1404 +/- 128) pg/ml. The expression of VEGF-C on pancreatic cancer cells derived from lymphatic metastasis were also more higher than primary tumor (P < 0.05). In vitro and vivo, transfection of VEGF-C ASODN decreased the expression of VEGF-C in pancreatic cancer cell. In control group, scramble-sense oligonucleotide (SODN) group and ASODN group, the apoptosis rates of pancreatic cancer cells derived from lymph node metastasis were (2.8 +/- 1.0)%, (5.0 +/- 2.1)%, (13.2 +/- 2.2)% respectively in vitro, and were (1.8 +/- 0.5)%, (2.0 +/- 0.7)%, (4.4 +/- 1.0)% respectively in vivo, the apoptosis was increased significantly after transfection of VEGF-C ASODN (all P < 0.01). But pancreatic cancer cells derived from primary tumor were not effected (all P > 0.05)., Conclusion: In human pancreatic cancer and nude mice model, the expression of VEGF-C on lymphatic metastasis was higher than primary tumor. The apoptosis of pancreatic cancer cells derived from spontaneous lymphatic metastasis were promoted by transfection of VEGF-C ASODN specially.

Objective: To assess the clinical value of three-dimensional contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (3D-CE-MRA) in the diagnosis of mesenteric arteriosclerosis., Methods: 3D-CE-MRA of the mesenteric arteries was performed in 21 patients with 23 healthy subjects as the control. After 3D image reconstruction and maxi intense projection, and the abnormalities of the mesenteric arteries were observed and analyzed. The diameter and number of the arterial branches were compared between the patients and the control subjects., Results: All the 21 patients suffered arteriosclerosis in the arteries other than the mesenteric arteries. On 3D-CE-MRA, mesenteric arteriosclerosis was characterized by thinning of the arterial trunk, luminal stenosis, irregular arterial margins and homo- or heterogeneous thickening of vascular walls. Multiple filling defects were found in the mesenteric artery lumens with reduced second order branches, which showed rigid lining with dashed line appearance or disappeared in some cases. The inferior mesenteric arteries were seen in only 2 patients. The diameters of superior and inferior mesenteric arteries were 3.8-/+0.32 mm and 1.20-/+0.12 mm in the patients, significantly smaller than those of in the control subjects (6.51-/+1.01 mm and 2.90-/+0.90 mm, respectively, P<0.01). The number of the mesenteric artery branch of the patients was also significantly reduced as compared with that in the control subjects (P<0.05). In som cases, the intestinal enhancement was attenuated with the intestinal contraction, dilatation and lowering of the intestinal tension., Conclusion: 3D-CE-MRA can clearly display mesenteric arteriosclerosis and secondary intestinal changes, and provides a useful means for the diagnosis and assisting the therapy of mesenteric arteriosclerosis.

Folate receptor (FR) is over-expressed in a variety of human cancers and it is seldom expressed or found in normal tissues. Therefore, folate receptor-mediated antitumor drugs can be targeted specially to the FR-positive tumor cells. This strategy improves the selectivity of drugs which may destroy the normal tissues in traditional chemotherapeutics. This review provides the delivery mechanism of FR-mediated antitumor drugs and highlights the novel folate-drug conjugates and their activities.

Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensors have become an advanced method for measuring biological molecular interaction. This article is focused on the principle and advantages of SPR biosensor chip technology, and its new applications in biomedical research fields. Its application prospects are also discussed.

We use direct-write laser micromachining technology to fabricate the microfluidic chip, and to establish a microfluidic chemiluminescence immunoassay system based on superparamagnetic microbeads, for detecting alpha- fetoprotein (AFP). The AFP analysis can be completed in 20 minutes with 5 microl sample and 5 microl reagent, and there is a good linear correlation in the range of 1-800 ng/ml.

The portable gastrointestinal wireless endoscope image receiver is developed and based on TMS320C6211 DSP. It can receive and demodulate the modulated signal which is transmitted from the camera-capsule, and then output the video signal. The synchronizing signals offered by SAA7114H are made best of and are used to design the time logic circuit. The fitful video signal can be collected under the control of the time logic circuit. The circuit can automatically get rid of useless blank data and only collect effective and good-quality video signals, and storage them in CF card. In addition, the image signal can be processed and compressed by DSP, and thus the data storage space and the data- analyzing time can be saved.

This paper proposes a one-way micro valve with a simple structure and a simulation design for the engineering capsule. We have now got its design parameter selection method and its mechanic characteristic from experiments.

The swallowable camera-capsule,described in the aper, 11 mm in diameter and 30 mm in length , contains a CMOS image sensor, an optical system, a battery, a light source, a transmitter, a antenna and so on. The CMOS image sensor and its driving circuit can be miniaturized with MEMS technology. Image signal can be transmitted by analog or digital way. Image signal can be wirelessly transmitted through serial data interface. Finally, the processing technics of the capsule's crust is introduced.

The capsule-style micro-system is a hot spot of minimally-invasive medical instruments. Progresses of some typical capsule-style micro-systems, such as the wireless endoscope, site specific delivery capsule (SSDC), alimentary tract sampling capsule, PH capsule, etc. are introduced here in detail. The research activities in China and the developing trend of capsule-style micro-systems are discussed too.

Photo refractive keratectomy (PRK) and laser Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) have been used for over a decade and become popular in China. Principles and characteristics of eye trackers made by several famous foreign manufacturers are introduced in this paper and their developing direction in the future is pointed out too.

Being aimed at the management of investment equipments, the flow of data has been put forward and the two main modes of data calculating have been established by our relying on No.1 Network of Military Healthy. The real-time management has been realized by the system in regard to eguipments' contact, charges, payouts, interest, payment, forecast and decision-makiing. It has been steadily test-running for more than 10 months in our hospital, and data have been processed exactly and creditably.

The paper reports a new molybdenum phosphate (NH3CH2CH2NH3)7H2[NaMo12O30(PO4)2(HPO4)5(H2PO4)].7H2O containing Mo(V) which is hydrothermally synthesized and spectrally characterized by FTIR, Raman and UV/Vis DRS. The result indicates long Mo(V)-O bonds and innumerable hydrogen bonds in compound cause the red shift of characteristic vibrations in IR spectrum of title compound.

We have developed a novel silicon microchannel system for the research of the red blood cell rheology and deformation. Recurring to many kinds of information technologies and advanced test means such as the electronic microscope, the image acquisition system and the computer processing system and by using the up-to-date Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) technology, a new measuring system of red bood cell deformation is designed based on the chip and a model using the silicon microchannel to simulate capillary vessel network. It provides a real-time collection and anaysis of data which include image, speed, flow parameter, and so on. It provides printing, storage of the analysis results and patients' database management.
