Aluminum industrial refractory waste pose a huge risk to the environment, and hence a safe resource utilization is mandatory to build a green industrial construction industry. Herein, a thermoplastic polyester elastomers‐spent refractory material (TPEE‐SRM) modifier having a two‐layer structure of "protective layer‐functional layer" was developed. Scanning electron microscopy and surface area analysis revealed that Eps used in the protective layer formed a dense film layer (50% decrease in specific surface) with a 97.7% sequestration of fluoride. As the reaction occurred in an organic solution, fluoride posed no risk to the environment. TPEE functional layer itself melted and dissolved with asphalt under high‐temperature conditions, and hence it established a strong interfacial interaction with asphalt. This led to an increase of 99.73% in the complex modulus (G*) and 41.75% in the rutting‐resistance performance (Jnr) of the TPEE‐SRM composite modified asphalt than that of the pristine styrene‐butadiene‐styrene (SBS) modified asphalt. The performance of the TPEE‐SRM/SBS composite modified asphalt after 10 years of use was also evaluated by conducting high pressure aging simulation tests. The linear amplitude scanning test results showed a 27.1‐fold increase in Nf 5.0%. Owing to the efficient and green modification method, the newly designed TPEE‐SRM modifier poses great application prospects and feasibility for designing advanced functional modified asphalt for construction and highway industries alongside a suitable disposal aspect for SRM. Synchronous boosting adsorption and desorption efficiency is a great challenge for CO2 adsorption capture, especially for metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) having high adsorption uptakes. Herein, a novel "self‐supporting foam" strategy is proposed to fabricate a thermally conductive MOFs@boron nitride nanosheets (BNNS) composite foam (MOFs@BNNS‐PEI) via polyethyleneimine (PEI) cross‐linkage. The "rebar" BNNS and the "aggregate" MOFs are packed against each other to form a self‐supporting structure, effectively reducing the reliance on polymers to maintain high MOFs loading. Furthermore, this approach enables the successful fabrication of three different types of typical MOFs, including HKUST‐1, MIL‐100(Fe), and ZIF‐8. This unique design maintains a high specific surface area (SSA) of the MOFs foam and generates nitrogen‐rich microporosity contributing to CO2 adsorption. Additionally, PEI serves as a thermal bridge to reduce the interfacial thermal resistance between BNNS and MOFs, accelerating the thermal desorption of CO2 within the MOFs foam. Benefiting from these advantages, the MOFs@BNNS‐PEI exhibits a higher CO2 adsorption capacity (1.35–1.42 times that of pure MOFs) and a significant increase in the desorption rate for CO2 (5.0–5.7 times that of pure MOFs). Objective We aimed to establish the benchmark characteristic map of Fuzi decoction and the determination method of multi-index components, and to clarify the key quality attributes of Fuzi decoction. Methods Fifteen batches of Fuzi decoction substance benchmarks samples were prepared; the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) characteristic spectrum of Fuzi decoction was established; and characteristic peak attribution and similarity analysis were performed. Ginsenosides Rg1, Re, Rf, and Rb1 were used as the index components to establish a method to determine ginseng content in Fuzi decoction. The value range of each quality control index was set at a limit of 70%-130% of the average value, and the quantity transfer analysis was performed on the material basis of 15 Fuzi decoction batches. Results The characteristic spectra of the 15 Fuzi decoction batches had 12 common peaks, and seven characteristic peaks of gallic acid, catechin, paeoniflorin, ginsenosides Rg1, Re, and Rb1, and atractylenolide III were identified, with a similarity of more than 0.98. Ginsenosides Rg1, Re, Rf, and Rb1 content ranges were 0.51-0.94, 0.34-0.62, 0.14-0.27, and 0.41-0.76 mg/g, respectively. The transfer rates of ginsenosides Rg1 and Re, Rf, and Rb1 were 12.05%-26.91%, 11.15%-43.71%, and 10.53%-33.23%, respectively. Conclusion The characteristic HPLC of Fuzi decoction and the determination method of Fuzi decoction ginseng content established in this study are accurate, reproducible, and stable, laying the foundation for the quality evaluation of the key chemical properties of Fuzi decoction and its preparation. Metal–organic framework (MOF) thin films are receiving increasing attention across a number of applications. Compared to bulk MOFs, thin films can meet many practical and special application requirements. Thin films based on MOFs synthesized at room temperature provide potential solutions to challenges associated with environmental pollution and energy shortage. In particular, growing MOF films at room temperature with large and uniformly dispersed surfaces has the potential to expose more effective active sites, making them suitable for various applications such as sensing, light harvesting, catalysis, adsorption and separation. This review presents diverse growth methods employed in the fabrication of room temperature-synthesized MOF films, emphasizing their significant applications across various domains. Finally, this review concludes by delving into prospective pathways to propel the progress of MOF film development at room temperature, accompanied by an exploration of the associated challenges that necessitate attention. This study addresses disposable medical mask (DMM) environmental issues through recycling polypropylene fibers. Polypropylene fibers were collected from DMMs, artificially crush them, and enhance fiber–cement interaction via advanced Fenton oxidation. Analysis (Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, x‐ray photoelectron spectrometer, field emission scanning electron microscope (FE‐SEM), energy‐dispersive x‐ray spectrometer, atomic force microscope, contact angle) confirms successful FeOOH grafting onto M‐DMM fibers, increasing roughness and wettability. Compared with DMM fibers, the surface free energy of M‐DMM fibers increased by 46.3%. Consequently, the grafting of FeOOH onto the fiber surface improves the physical friction and interlocking effects between the fibers and cement. FE‐SEM results after 28 days of curing reveal that M‐DMM fibers exhibit better bonding ability with cement compared with unmodified DMM fibers. Mechanical tests unequivocally demonstrated the enhanced impact resistance of the cement mortar incorporating M‐DMM fibers compared to the reference. Specifically, there was a significant 16.0% increase at 7 days of curing, followed by an additional 4.5% improvement after 28 days of curing. This study provides an eco‐friendly solution for addressing the post‐pandemic surge in DMM waste, reducing microplastic pollution, and lowering disposal costs. Utilizing efficient and cost‐effective modifiers is essential for the development of high‐performance asphalt materials. In this study, a polydopamine (PDA) chelated cobalt ion (Co2+)‐assisted in situ growth strategy was employed to anchor nanoporous zeolite imidazolium salt framework‐67 (ZIF‐67) on polyester (PET) fiber substrates for the preparation of styrene‐butadiene‐styrene block copolymer‐modified asphalt (SBS‐MA). Experimental results indicated that optimal fiber incorporation of 1.5% led to the best interfacial interaction at the modified asphalt fracture section. ZIF‐67 nanoporous structure acted as an organic–inorganic hybridization interfacial layer to enhance the fiber–asphalt interfacial interaction. The adhesion work of the modified fiber with SBS‐MA increased by 42.12%. Furthermore, the adhesion work, peeling work, and compatibility ratio of modified asphalt with aggregates were also improved. Similarly, the complex modulus of the 1.5% ZIF‐67–PDA–PET/SBS‐MA at 46°C was increased by 131.30% in comparison with that of the pristine SBS‐MA. More importantly, the synergistic effect of the highly thermally stable PET fibers and ZIF‐67 nanocrystals improved the thermal decomposition of SBS‐MA. These results suggest that ZIF‐67–PDA–PET fiber holds great promise for application in designing novel materials for the construction industry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
