Abstract

Purpose: This study evaluated the elastic characteristics of the pulmonary trunk and distal branches in fetuses diagnosed with tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) using Doppler echocardiography. Methods: Data on 42 fetuses diagnosed with TOF and 84 gestational age-matched normal fetuses were prospectively collected from the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University between August 2022 and January 2023. The severity of TOF was classified into three categories based on the z-score of the pulmonary annulus diameter: mild (z-score =-2), moderate (-40.05). Conclusion: Fetuses diagnosed with TOF exhibited increased vascular stiffness in the MPA and reduced stiffness in the distal pulmonary artery (PA). Larger-scale follow-up studies are required to elucidate the relationships between these changes in vascular stiffness and PA development in patients with TOF. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Aiming at the problems of low accuracy, poor real-time performance and large cumulative error in traditional depth camera visual synchronization positioning and map construction algorithms, this paper proposes an improved visual SLAM algorithm for mobile robots based on depth camera. According to the realization process of robot vision, a feature point extraction algorithm based on feature extraction and image segmentation watershed algorithm is proposed in the front-end process, which improves the real-time performance of the algorithm. Then the RE-RANSAC algorithm is used to eliminate the mismatched feature points to improve the matching accuracy, and then the accumulated error is eliminated through closed loop detection, and finally the process of robot mapping is completed. After simulation experiments, the feasibility of the improved algorithm is proved, and the robot’s mapping and trajectory estimation are completed. &nbsp

Abstract

São Paulo, like many other urban centers worldwide, grapples with a stark contrast in living conditions and spatial inequity between various income groups. Nowhere is this divide more evident than in the sprawling favela areas, where marginalized individuals face numerous challenges in their daily lives. The existing housing in these areas often lack essential amenities, basic infrastructure, and a sense of community. This spatial inequity and social injustice perpetuate a cycle of poverty and exclusion. In this context, there is a pressing need to explore innovative architectural design solutions that not only enhance living conditions but also foster inclusive communities within São Paulo’s favela areas. The overarching goal is to bridge the gap between different income groups, create opportunities for marginalized individuals, and address the systemic issues that perpetuate this divide. This research aims to investigate how architecture can be leveraged as a tool for social change, aiming to improve the quality of life for residents in these underserved communities. To achieve this, the research will delve into various aspects of architectural design, urban planning, and community engagement to identify strategies that can empower marginalized individuals, promote inclusivity, and create environments that are conducive to social and economic advancement. Abstract

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are an important class of environmental pollutants, and there is much interest in China to eliminate such pollutants. Noble metal catalysts have long been a family of catalysts with high efficiency and good low-temperature catalytic activity. As a representative of the noble metals, Pt has been widely used. This paper reviews the research trend of Pt-based catalysts for the catalytic oxidation of VOCs, and it compares several important components of Pt-based catalysts. The size of Pt particles, supported carriers, and reaction mechanism are reviewed. Toluene in VOCs is the main research subject.
