82. Local-Scale Horizontal CO 2 Flux Estimation Incorporating Differential Absorption Lidar and Coherent Doppler Wind Lidar.

Abstract

A micro-pulse lidar system incorporating differential absorption lidar (DIAL) and coherent Doppler wind lidar (CDWL) is proposed and demonstrated. Due to the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SNSPD), the DIAL channel achieves high sensitivity in CO2 measurement. Meanwhile, the CDWL channel is used to obtain the horizontal wind field. In the process of the optimization and calibration of the DIAL receiver, specifically, mode scrambling and temperature control of the connecting fiber between the telescope and the SNSPD enhance the stability and robustness of the system. Horizontal scanning of the CO2 concentration and the wind field is carried out in a 6 km range over a scanning span of 60° with a radial resolution of 150 m and 15 s. The results show that the hybrid lidar system captures the spatial distribution of CO2 concentration and the wind field simultaneously. The horizontal net CO2 flux in a radius of 6 km is estimated by integrating the CO2 concentration and the wind transport vector, indicating different characteristics of horizontal net CO2 fluxes in an industrial area, a university campus, and a park. During most of the experiment, CO2 flux remained positive in the industrial area, but balances fell to nearly zero on the campus and in the park. The horizontal net fluxes averaged over 24 h in the three areas are 3.5 × 105 ppm·m2·s−1, 0.7 × 105 ppm·m2·s−1, and 0.1 × 105 ppm·m2·s−1. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Identifying circulating biomarkers is helpful to improve outcomes. In this study, for the first time, we identify interleukin-6 (IL-6) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) as potential biomarkers for prognosis of aSAH.Methods: We extracted small extracellular vesicles from the CSF of 103 aSAH patients and 40 healthy controls in a prospective observational study. Subsequently, we measured IL-6sEVs levels using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Each mirror aneurysm was divided into the prior to rupture or the unruptured group. Patient-specific models were reconstructed from three-dimensional (3D) images of all patients. Hemodynamic and morphological factors were analyzed and compared.Results: Compared with the unruptured side of MANs, aneurysms prior to rupture were significantly larger and significantly more irregular in shape; they also had significantly higher aspect ratio (AR), size ratio (SR), undulation index (UI), ellipticity index (EI), percentage of low wall shear stress area (LSA) and significantly lower normal wall shear stress (NWSS). The oscillatory shear index (OSI) and nonsphericity index (NSI) in the aneurysms prior to rupture were non-significantly higher than those of the unruptured group.Conclusion: MANs prior to rupture may be extremely useful models to assess the risk of aneurysm rupture. Abstract

In this paper, we study convex semi-infinite programming involving minimax problems. One of the difficulties in solving these problems is that the maximum type functions are not differentiable. Due to the nonsmooth nature of the problem, we apply the special proximal bundle scheme on the basis of -decomposition theory to solve the nonsmooth convex semi-infinite minimax problems. The proposed scheme requires an evaluation within some accuracy for all the components of the objective function. Regarding the incremental method, we only need one component function value and one subgradient which are estimated to update the bundle information and produce the search direction. Under some mild assumptions, we present global convergence and local superlinear convergence of the proposed bundle method. Numerical results of several example problems are reported to show the effectiveness of the new scheme. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

While scientific and technological progress and economic development have improved the state of human life, they have also brought a series of hazards to human survival. Therefore, sustainable development has become an inevitable trend for development in various fields. Patchwork art is a typical traditional art form. No matter now or in the future, only by absorbing the essence of culture, deeply exploring the harmonious relationship between man and nature, and adhering to the road of sustainable development can we realize the vitality of modernization. This article focuses on the concept of sustainable development and provides theoretical knowledge and methodological guidance for modern patchwork art design. Taking the work “Hui Yu Men Ting” as an example, it discusses the sustainable design research of the use of waste denim clothing for the creation of patchwork art from the aspects of material selection, creative concept, and expression techniques.
