Abstract

In order to improve the CO catalytic oxidation performance of a Pt/TiO2 catalyst, a series of Pt/TiO2 catalysts were prepared via an impregnation method in this study, and various characterization methods were used to explore the effect of TiO2 calcination pretreatment on the CO catalytic oxidation performance of the catalysts. The results revealed that Pt/TiO2 (700 °C) prepared by TiO2 after calcination pretreatment at 700 °C exhibits a superior CO oxidation activity at low temperatures. After calcination pretreatment, the catalyst exhibited a suitable specific surface area and pore structure, which is beneficial to the diffusion of reactants and reaction products. At the same time, the proportion of adsorbed oxygen on the catalyst surface was increased, which promoted the oxidation of CO. After calcination pretreatment, the adsorption capacity of the catalyst for CO and CO2 decreased, which was beneficial for the simultaneous inhibition of the CO self-poisoning of Pt sites. In addition, the Pt species exhibited a higher degree of dispersion and a smaller particle size, thereby increasing the CO oxidation activity of the Pt/TiO2 (700 °C) catalyst. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Driver gaze prediction is an important task in Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Although the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) can greatly improve the recognition ability, there are still several unsolved problems due to the challenge of illumination, pose and camera placement. To solve these difficulties, we propose an effective multi-model fusion method for driver gaze estimation. Rich appearance representations, i.e. holistic and eyes regions, and geometric representations, i.e. landmarks and Delaunay angles, are separately learned to predict the gaze, followed by a score-level fusion system. Moreover, pseudo-3D appearance supervision and identity-adaptive geometric normalization are proposed to further enhance the prediction accuracy. Finally, the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art accuracy of 82.5288% on the test data, which ranks 1st at the EmotiW2020 driver gaze prediction sub-challenge.

Abstract

The Z-scheme imprinted ZnFe2O4/Ag/PEDOT was synthesized by the microwave polymerization method and surface imprinting technique, which possessed good partial hollow spherical structure, good light response ability, good magnetic separation performance, good photocatalytic stability and reproducibility. More importantly, due to the introduction of Ag/PEDOT into the surface imprinted layer, Z-scheme structure was formed to enhance the photocatalytic activity based on Ag acted as the mediator, meanwhile, owing to the existence of the imprinted cavity in the surface imprinted layer, the selectivity had been significantly improved, in a word, the as-prepared Z-scheme imprinted ZnFe2O4/Ag/PEDOT achieved the goal for simultaneously improving the photocatalytic activity and selectivity. Z-scheme imprinted ZnFe2O4/Ag/PEDOT possessed the highest photodegradation rate (71.77%) for degradation of tetracycline under the simulated sunlight irradiation of 120 min, which was approximately 4.74 times to that of ZnFe2O4, 1.42 times to that of Ag/PEDOT and 1.31 times to that of non-imprinted ZnFe2O4/Ag/PEDOT, respectively. And the coefficient of selectivity of Z-scheme imprinted ZnFe2O4/Ag/PEDOT relative to ZnFe2O4, Ag/PEDOT, non-imprinted ZnFe2O4/Ag/PEDOT was 1.84, 1.82, 1.79 in the single antibiotic solution and 1.78, 1.75, 1.67 in the binary antibiotic solution, respectively. This work provided a new synthesis strategy for the imprinted photocatalysts and also provided a new idea for the treatment of specific pollutants in the water environment.

Abstract

A stable core–shell imprinted Ag-(poly-o-phenylenediamine)/CoFe2O4 (imprinted Ag-POPD/CoFe2O4) was synthesized via the surface imprinting technique. Ag-POPD was introduced into an imprinted layer, which significantly enhanced the photocatalytic activity. Meanwhile, due to the existence of imprinted cavities in the imprinted layer, the imprinted Ag-POPD/CoFe2O4 exhibited the superior specific recognition capability for selective photodegradation of ciprofloxacin (CIP). This work puts forward a novel design idea for synthesizing imprinted photocatalysts.

Abstract

To achieve renewable energy technologies, low-cost electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) are required to replace Pt and IrO2/RuO2 catalysts. Based on density functional theory, the catalytic activity of TM3(HHTP)2 (2,3,6,7,10,11-hexahydroxytriphenylene) monolayer and its variations (TMX4, where TM = Fe, Co, Ni, X = O, S, Se) for bifunctional ORR/OER have been investigated. The adsorption ability is dominated by the metal center, in the order of Fe > Co > Ni while the ligand shows the minor contribution. Due to the presence of linear relations between the intermediates, the activity of TMX4 for the ORR/OER follows a dual volcano curve as a function of the OH adsorption strength. Considering the overpotential, CoO4 and CoS4 possess superior bifunctional activity, implying their promise as candidates for the oxygen electrode reaction. This systematical work may open new avenues for the development of high-performance non-PGM catalysts for practical applications of ORR and OER.

Abstract

Ranaviruses can infect both captive and wild cold‐blooded vertebrates, leading to significant economic and environmental losses. With the cases of ranavirus infection increasing, many ranavirus genomic sequences were published, but little is known about ranavirus taxonomy on a whole‐genome level. In this study, 44 ranaviruses core genes were identified in 32 ranaviruses genome sequences by using PanX. The neighbour‐joining phylogenetic trees (NJ‐tree) based on 44 ranaviruses core genes and 24 iridoviridae core genes and composition vector phylogenetic tree (CV‐Tree) based on whole genome were constructed. The three of phylogenetic trees showed that 32 ranavirus isolates can be divided into 4 different subgroups including SGIV‐like, EHNV‐like, FV3‐like and CMTV‐like, and subgroups taxonomic position of three phylogenetic trees were consistent. However, the phylogenetic position of ToRV could not be determined if it belongs to FV3‐like or CMTV‐like group. Subsequently, we carried out dot plot analysis and confirmed that ToRV should belong to CMTV‐like group. Based on dot plot analysis and phylogenetic trees, the taxonomic classification of ranaviruses was confirmed. Finally, four genes which are suitable for the construction of phylogenetic tree were selected from ranavirus core genes by recombination analysis, substitution saturation analysis and single‐gene phylogenetic analysis. Phylogenetic tree based on concatenated sequences of the four selected genes showed that the classification of subgroups was identical with three of the phylogenetic trees. Conclusion: Our results confirmed taxonomic identification of ranaviruses; the four selected genes used in phylogenetic analysis will make taxonomic identification more convenient and accurate. Abstract

A novel functional inorganic imprinted ZnFe2O4@Ag3PO4/SiO2 photocatalyst was synthesized by a facile sol–gel method combined with the surface imprinting technique, which possessed excellent stability. By optimizing the amount of materials, we determine the preferable addition amounts of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and tetracycline to be 0.06[Formula: see text]mL and 0.06[Formula: see text]g, respectively. This as-prepared functional inorganic imprinted ZnFe2O4@Ag3PO4/SiO2 photocatalyst was proved to not only exhibit high photocatalytic activity (the photodegradation rate was 61.52% under the simulated sunlight irradiation of 60[Formula: see text]min), but also possess a strong oriented ability to selectively recognize and photocatalyze tetracycline (the coefficient of selectivity ([Formula: see text] was 5.14 for ciprofloxacin and 3.63 for gatifloxacin). Moreover, the functional inorganic imprinted ZnFe2O4@Ag3PO4/SiO2 photocatalyst prepared with SiO2 as the inorganic imprinted layer has good stability and can be recycled many times. This work not only puts forward a novel design idea of functional semiconductor materials but also is expected to be widely applied to the oriented catalysis for a target substance according to the practical requirement.
