Abstract

A novel electrochemical sensor based on MnCO3 nanostructures incorporated into carbon fibers (MnCO3NS/CF), including a molecularly imprinting polymer (MIP), was developed for the determination of Ochratoxin A (OTA). In this study, a sensitive and selective sensor design for OTA detection was successfully performed by utilizing the selectivity and catalysis properties of MIP and the synthesized MnCO3NS/CF material at the same time. MnCO3 nanostructures incorporated into carbon fibers were first characterized by using various analytical techniques. The sensor revealed a linearity towards OTA in the range of 1.0 × 10−11–1.0 × 10−9 mol L−1 with a detection limit (LOD) of 2.0 × 10−12 mol L−1. The improved electrochemical signal strategy was achieved by high electrical conductivity on the electrode surface, providing fast electron transportation. In particular, the analysis process could be finished in less than 5.0 min without complex and expensive equipment. Abstract

A molecular imprinted electrochemical sensor based on boron-functionalized graphitic carbon nitride (B-g-C3N4) and graphene quantum dots (GQDs) was presented for selective determination of bisphenol A (BPA). In particular, by combining the selectivity and high stability properties, which are the most important advantages of molecular imprinted polymers, and the highly sensitive properties of GQDs/B-g-C3N4 nanocomposite, a highly selective and sensitive analytical method was developed for BPA analysis. Firstly, GQDs/B-g-C3N4 nanocomposite was characterized by using microscopic, spectroscopic, and electrochemical techniques. This novel molecular imprinted electrochemical sensor for BPA detection demonstrated a linearity of 1.0 × 10−11–1.0 × 10−9 M and a low detection limit (LOD, 3.0 × 10−12 M). Abstract

Zearalenone (ZEN) is a mycotoxin that has a carcinogenic effect and is often found at a high rate in frequently consumed foods. In this study, a characteristic molecular imprinted quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensor based on molybdenum disulfide nanoparticle (MoS2NPs)-multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) nanocomposite (MoS2NPs-MWCNTs) is presented for selective determination of ZEA in rice samples. Firstly, molybdenum disulfide nanoparticle (MoS2NP)-multiwalled carbon nanotube nanocomposites were characterized by using microscopic, spectroscopic, and electrochemical techniques. Then, ZEA-imprinted QCM chip was prepared in the presence of methacryloylamidoglutamicacid (MAGA) as monomer, N,N′-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator, and ZEA as target molecule by using UV polymerization. The sensor revealed a linearity toward ZEA in the range 1.0–10.0 ng L−1 with a detection limit (LOD) of 0.30 ng L−1. Abstract

Sharks are generally highly exposed to overexploitation and in addition, the increased pollution in the marine environment also negatively impacts them. Therefore, it is important to monitor inorganic contaminants in sharks. This study was conducted to elucidate heavy metal accumulation in the Smooth hound Mustelus mustelus and the Blue shark Prionace glauca by electrochemical technique from the North-Eastern Mediterranean Coast of Turkey. Cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, manganese, nickel and zinc were determined. These results showed that the concentrations of all the trace metals were significantly different both in the liver and muscle tissues of Blue shark and Smooth-hound shark (P < 0.001). Cr and Pb concentrations exceeded the maximum limit legalized by FAO (2003), EU (2005), and UNEP (2008). These results confirmed that the metal contamination in the North-Eastern Mediterranean area may pose a potential threat to the sustainability of Blue shark and Smooth-hound shark in the marine ecosystem.

Abstract

In this review, novel imprinted sensors approach based on nanomaterials such as graphene/graphene oxide/graphene quantum dots, carbon nanotubes, carbon nitride nanotubes and two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal boron nitride (2D-hBN) nanosheets were presented for important agent’s detection in real samples. Firstly, the chemical and physical properties of novel nanomaterials in development of nanosensors were investigated. After that, various techniques such as x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods were explained for characterization application. Finally, the development and procedure of the imprinted electrodes on nanomaterials were investigated.

Abstract

Monitoring the malignant tumors via cancer biomarkers is very significant process. Nonetheless, the practical clinical applications need selective and sensitive analytical methods/techniques. In this study, a novel sandwich type immunosensor based on surface-enhanced raman scattering (SERS) was presented including 4-mercaptobenzoic acid labeled MoS2 nanoflowers@Au nanoparticles (MoS2 NFs@Au NPs/ MBA) as CEASERS tag and Fe3O4@Au nanoparticles functionalized delaminated Ti3C2Tx MXene (Fe3O4 NPs@Au NPs/d-Ti3C2TX MXene) as SERS magnetic supporting substrate for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) detection. Especially, the determination of single molecule by using SERS method enables early diagnosis of major diseases. In addition, this technique can be utilized for multiplex analyzes owing to narrow well-resolved peaks. The prepared CEASERS tag and SERS magnetic supporting substrate were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD) method, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). A linearity of 0.0001-100.0 ng mL-1 was observed with high sensitivity. Finally, sandwich type immunosensor demonstrated good selectivity and stability for target CEA recognition in plasma sample.

96. l-Phenylalanine-Imprinted Electrochemical Sensor Based on WS2Nanoflowers on N,B-Doped Graphene and Its Application to Milk Samples

Abstract

Phenylketonuria (PKU) is a critical disease in the disorder of amino acid metabolism, which mostly emerges in children. The most common method used in PKU treatment is the detection of l-phenylalanine (PHEA) as the biomarker of PKU. In the present work, a new molecularly imprinted electrochemical electrode based on WS2nanoflowers (NFs) on N,B-doped graphene (WS2NFs/N,B-GR) is presented for PHEA assay in milk samples. First of all, WS2NFs/N,B-GR was synthesized via a high-efficiency hydrothermal synthesis. Cyclic voltammetry was applied to the electrochemical cell, including PHEA as a template molecule and pyrrole as a monomer, to form PHEA-imprinted electrochemical electrodes. Then, the structural and morphological features of WS2NFs and WS2NFs/N,B-GR were investigated in detail by various analytical methods. The limit of quantification and limit of detection values were obtained as 1.0 × 10–11and 3.0 × 10–12M, respectively, by a PHEA-imprinted electrochemical electrode. Finally, a PHEA-imprinted electrochemical sensor having a high degree of selectivity, stability, and reusability is presented in the literature for early diagnosis of PKU.

Abstract

5-Hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF) is an intermediate produced by dehydrating sugars, such as fructose, sucrose, and glucose, in an acidic medium or during the Maillard reaction. It also occurs due to the storage of sugary foods at inappropriate temperatures. In addition, HMF is seen as a quality criterion in products. In this study, a novel molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor based on graphene quantum dots incorporated NiAl2O4(GQDs–NiAl2O4) nanocomposite was presented for the selective determination of HMF in coffee samples. Various microscopic, spectroscopic, and electrochemical methods were carried out for the structural characterizations of GQDs–NiAl2O4nanocomposite. The molecularly imprinted sensor was prepared by multi-scanning using cyclic voltammetry (CV) in the presence of 100.0 mM pyrrole monomer and 25.0 mM HMF. After method optimization, the sensor revealed linearity towards HMF in the range of 1.0–10.0 ng L−1with a detection limit (LOD) of 0.30 ng L−1. The developed MIP sensor's high repeatability, selectivity, stability, and fast response ability can provide reliable HMF detection in beverages, such as coffee, which is heavily consumed.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada geliştirilen yakıt hücresinde yakıt olarak metil alkol kullanılır. Methanol yakıt hücreleri özellikle temiz çevre ve etkili enerji dönüşümü için çok önemlidir. Grafit karbon nitrit (g-C3N4) karbon bazlı nanomateryaller arasında kararlı karbon allotropudur. Π bazlı polimer sisteminde elektron lokalizasyonu olmayan C − N bağlarından oluşur. Polioksometalatlar (POMs) redoks-aktif maddelerdir ve doğrudan metanol oksidasyonu ve enerji depolama için hayati bir potansiyele sahiptir. POM'lar, yüksek değerli metaller ve anyonik metal oksitler içerdikleri için ilgi görmektedir.Bu çalışmada, Polioksometalat/ karbon nitrit nanotüp (C3N4 NTs) sentezlenmiş ve yakıt hücresi için uygulanmıştır. Öncelikle, hazırlanan nanokompozitin yapısı geçirgen elektron mikroskopu (TEM), x-ışınları fotoelektron spektroskopisi (XPS) ve taramalı elektron mikroskopu (SEM) kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Daha sonra bu nanokompozit modifiyeli elektrot kullanılarak elektrokimyasal ölçümler gerçekleştirilmiştir. POM-C3N4 NTs/GCE ve C3N4 NTs/GCE elektrotların elektrokimyasal aktif yüzeyleri sırasıyla 0.511 cm2 ve 0.169 cm2 olarak bulunmuştur. Hazırlanan nankompozit metil alkole karşı aktif bir katalitik etki göstermiştir., Fuel cell in this study consumes methanol as fuel and they are very important for clean environment and effective energy conversion. Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is carbon allotrope among carbon based nanomaterials. It consists of C−N bonds in π-based polymer. Polyoxometalates (POMs) are redox-active materials and have crucial potential for direct methanol oxidation and energy storage. POMs attract important interest because they included in high-valent metals and anionic metal oxides. In present report, the nanocomposite of polyoxometalate/C3N4 NTs was synthesized and applied for fuel cell. Firstly, the structure of prepared nanocomposite was investigated by transmission electron microscope (TEM), x-ray photo electron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). After that, the voltammetric measurements were performed by using nanocomposite modified electrode. The electrochemical active areas of POM-C3N4 NTs/GCE and C3N4 NTs/GCE are 0.511 cm2 and 0.169 cm2, respectively. The prepared nanocomposite demonstrated active catalytic effect towards methanol.
