Super-enhancers (SEs) are cell-specific DNA cis-regulatory elements that can supervise the transcriptional regulation processes of downstream genes. SEdb 2.0 (http://www.licpathway.net/sedb) aims to provide a comprehensive SE resource and annotate their potential roles in gene transcriptions. Compared with SEdb 1.0, we have made the following improvements: (i) Newly added the mouse SEs and expanded the scale of human SEs. SEdb 2.0 contained 1 167 518 SEs from 1739 human H3K27ac chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing (ChIP-seq) samples and 550 226 SEs from 931 mouse H3K27ac ChIP-seq samples, which was five times that of SEdb 1.0. (ii) Newly added transcription factor binding sites (TFBSs) in SEs identified by TF motifs and TF ChIP-seq data. (iii) Added comprehensive (epi)genetic annotations of SEs, including chromatin accessibility regions, methylation sites, chromatin interaction regions and topologically associating domains (TADs). (iv) Newly embedded and updated search and analysis tools, including ‘Search SE by TF-based’, ‘Differential-Overlapping-SE analysis’ and ‘SE-based TF–Gene analysis’. (v) Newly provided quality control (QC) metrics for ChIP-seq processing. In summary, SEdb 2.0 is a comprehensive update of SEdb 1.0, which curates more SEs and annotation information than SEdb 1.0. SEdb 2.0 provides a friendly platform for researchers to more comprehensively clarify the important role of SEs in the biological process.

We investigated the structural features of arterial blood vessels in yak uterine caruncle and the effects of the expression of vascular regulation-related factors on angiogenesis in pregnant and non-pregnant yak uterus. Three-dimensional specimens of the uterine artery of non-pregnant and pregnant yaks were produced to observe and measure the distribution characteristics and number of arterial vessels in the uterus and caruncle in the two periods. The uterine caruncle structure was observed and analysed by haematoxylin-eosin staining. The expression features of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) in the uterine caruncle were detected with immunohistochemistry, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and western blotting. The length and number of blood vessels in the caruncle were increased, the degree of curvature was decreased, and the folding was more complicated during pregnancy as compared with that during non-pregnancy. The immunohistochemical results demonstrated that VEGF and Ang-1 were mainly expressed strongly in the mucosal epithelial cytoplasm. The glandular lumen of the uterine gland, lymphocytes and the media and adventitia of blood vessels are widely distributed, and they are all positive. VEGF and Ang-1 mRNA and protein levels were highest in pregnancy, followed by that in the luteal phase and in the follicular phase, and three stages were significantly different (p .05). These findings provide an anatomical reference and theoretical basis for improving the diagnosis and treatment of yak reproductive disorders and other diseases in high-altitude and low-oxygen environments.

DC power grid has the advantages of large power supply capacity, easy access to clean energy, low loss, and easy power control. With the increasing penetration rate of distributed generation and DC load in low-voltage transmission network, the traditional radial AC distribution form develops into AC-DC hybrid form. Large-scale distributed energy access is an important feature of future distribution system. Aiming at the AC-DC hybrid distribution system with soft tie-in switch and voltage source converter, considering the network congestion caused by large-scale access of distributed energy, a two-stage congestion management mechanism is proposed. This strategy solves the congestion problem of AC/DC hybrid transmission network with the help of the power flow control ability of AC/DC transmission network’s own optimization control means and congestion management services provided by distributed energy sources. According to the experiment, the total distributed generation power of DC link is 15 MW, and the load power is 10 MW, that is, the remaining power of DC link is 5 MW, the total distributed generation power of AC link is 8 MW, and the load power is 15 MW, that is, the power shortage of AC link is 7 MW. In the first stage, the tie-in switch, SOP and VSC are coordinated and optimized, and in the second stage, the flexible adjustment ability provided by distributed energy makes up for the deficiency of the adjustment ability of direct control means in some periods of severe congestion and meets the requirements of congestion management of AC-DC hybrid transmission network under high-permeability distributed generation.

Bismaleimide (BMI) resin-based structural adhesives have excellent heat resistance, with important applications demonstrated in the bonding of high-temperature BMI composites. In this paper, we report an epoxy-modified BMI structural adhesive with excellent properties for bonding BMI-based CFRP. We prepared the BMI adhesive using epoxy-modified BMI as the matrix and PEK-C and core–shell polymers as synergistic tougheners. We found that the epoxy resins improve the process and bonding properties of BMI resin but slightly reduce thermal stability. PEK-C and core–shell polymers synergistically improve the toughness and bonding performances of the modified BMI adhesive system and allow the maintenance of heat resistance. The optimized BMI adhesive exhibits excellent heat resistance, with a high glass transition temperature of 208.6 °C and a high thermal degradation temperature of 425.4 °C. Most importantly, the optimized BMI adhesive exhibits satisfactory intrinsic bonding and thermal stability. It has a high shear strength of 32.0 MPa at room temperature and up to 17.9 MPa at 200 °C. The BMI adhesive-bonded composite joint has a high shear strength of 38.6 and 17.3 MPa at room temperature and 200 °C, respectively, indicating effective bonding and excellent heat resistance.

Metagenomic analysis was used to analyze gut microbiota.Results: PCOS patients were divided into three groups: visceral obesity group (PCOS-VO, n=9, age 28.33± 5.68 years, BMI 37.06± 4.27 kg/m2, VFA 128.67± 22.45 cm2), non-visceral obesity group (PCOS-NVO, n=10, age 25.40± 4.53, BMI 30.74± 3.95, VFA 52.00± 24.04), normal BMI group (PCOS-NB, n=8, age 27.88± 2.53, BMI 21.56± 2.20, VFA 27.00± 21.18), with no statistical difference in age (P> 0.05) and significantly statistical differences in BMI and VFA (P< 0.05). The groups showed a significant difference in microbial β-diversity between PCOS-VO and PCOS-NVO (P=0.002) and no difference between PCOS-NVO and PCOS-NB (P=0.177). Bacteroidetes was the phylum with the highest relative abundance among all patients, followed by Firmicutes. Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the heat resistance and heat-resistant oxygen aging of 4-nitrophthalonitrile-etherified cardanol-phenol-formaldehyde (PPCF) to further use and develop the resin as the matrix resin of high-temperature resistant adhesives and coatings. Design/methodology/approach PPCF resin was synthesized by 4-nitrophthalonitrile and cardanol-phenol-formaldehyde (PCF). The structures of PPCF and PCF were investigated by Fourier transform infrared, differential scanning calorimetry and proton nuclear magnetic resonance. In addition, the heat resistance and processability of PPCF and PCF resins were studied by dynamic mechanical analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques and rheological studies. Findings The results reveal that PPCF forms a cross-linked network at a lower temperature. PPCF resin has excellent resistance under thermal aging in an air atmosphere and that it still had a certain residual weight after aging at 500°C for 2 h, whereas the PCF resin is completely decomposed. Originality/value 4-Nitrophthalonitrile was introduced into PCF resin, and XRD and SEM were used to investigate the high temperature residual carbon rate and heat-resistant oxygen aging properties of PPCF and PCF resins.

A highly active and ultra-stable partially graphitized bio-carbon (pg-BC) supported Ru nanoparticles (RuNPs/pg-BC) catalyst was prepared by wet impregnation-carbothermal reduction method. The structure, morphology and surface characteristics of the prepared Ru/pg-BC catalysts were characterized by N2 physical adsorption, XRD, XPS, TEM and Raman. The results indicate that the spherical Ru nanoparticles with an average particle size of 2.97 nm are uniformly dispersed on the carbon support, and BC is partially graphitized under the effect of Ru3+ at a lower temperature, graphitization enhancing the catalytic activity of RuNPs/pg-BC. The conversion of N-ethylcarbazole (NEC) and the selectivity of 12H-NEC were 100% and 99.41% for 70 min at 130 °C and 6 MPa H2, respectively. RuNPs are embedded in the cavities formed by carbothermal reduction on the surface of pg-BC, which can improve the catalytic stability of RuNPs/pg-BC. After the catalyst was recycled 9 times, the catalytic performance did not significantly decrease, showing ultra-high stability.

In this paper, Pd/C catalysts are synthesized via Ar glow-discharge plasma reduction using activated carbon as the support and Pd(acac)2, Pd(NO3)2, K2PdCl4, and H2PdCl4 as the Pd precursors, and their catalytic performances are investigated by hydrogen production from dodecahydro-N-ethylcarbazole (H12-NEC). Pd/C-A, prepared from Pd(acac)2, which has the smallest palladium nanoparticles (1.7 nm), the highest dispersion (34%) and no residue of inorganic ions, exhibits the best catalytic activity with a hydrogen release of 5.28 wt.%, which is 2.2 times that of Pd/C-H. The order of the apparent activation energies of the prepared Pd/C catalysts, according to the kinetics of the H12-NEC dehydrogenation reaction, is as follows: Pd/C-A ≈ Pd/C-N < Pd/C-K < Pd/C-H. When Pd(acac)2 with a large ligand acts as a cation Pd precursor, the effect of coulombic attraction to Pd2+ during the plasma reduction process makes it difficult for Pd nanoparticles (NPs) to migrate, which leads to the formation of ultrafine Pd NPs.

The hydroisomerization of n-hexadecane over Pt-Pd bimetallic catalysts is an effective way to produce clean fuel oil. This work reports a useful preparation method of bimetallic bifunctional catalysts by a co-impregnation or sequential impregnation process. Furthermore, monometallic catalysts with loading either Pt or Pd are also prepared for comparison. The effects of the metal species and impregnation order on the characteristics and catalytic performance of the catalysts are investigated. The catalytic test results indicate that the maximum iso-hexadecane yield over different catalysts increases as follows: Pt/silicoaluminophosphate SAPO-41 < Pd/SAPO-41 < Pt*-Pd/SAPO-41 (prepared by sequential impregnation) < Pt-Pd/SAPO-41 (prepared by co-impregnation). Owing to the synergic effects between Pt and Pd, the Pt-Pd/SAPO-41 catalyst prepared by the co-impregnation method demonstrates the effective promotion of (de)hydrogenation activity. Therefore, this catalyst exhibits the highest iso-hexadecane yield of 89.4% when the n-hexadecane conversion is 96.3%. Additionally, the Pt-Pd/SAPO-41 catalyst also presents the highest catalytic activity and best stability even after 150 h long-term tests.
