To explore the preventive effect of different modes of ankle pump exercise on femoral vein PICC catheter-related thrombosis.Convenient sampling method was used to select 172 patients with lung cancer with PICC catheterization through femoral vein admitted to West China Hospital of Sichuan University as the observation group and control group. Comfort angle ankle pump exercise mode and maximum angle ankle pump exercise mode were adopted. We have compared the differences in the incidence of catheter-related thrombosis, unplanned catheter removal, fatigue score, and catheter retention time between two groups of patients.The incidence of catheter-related thrombosis, unplanned catheter removal, fatigue score, and catheter retention time were statistically significant (p < .05) in both groups of patients.The maximum angle ankle pump exercise mode can reduce the incidence of catheter-related thrombosis and unplanned catheter removal in patients with lung cancer with PICC catheterization through femoral vein, increase catheter retention time, but it can easily cause patient fatigue. Background: We performed this single‐centre prospective study, aimed to analyse the safety and efficacy of ultrasound‐guided foam sclerotherapy for primary isolated small saphenous vein (SSV) insufficiency. Methods: From June 2017 to June 2019, patients with primary SSV insufficiency and receiving ultrasound‐guided foam sclerotherapy were included in this study. The collected data included demographics of patients, clinical treatment results, occlusion rate and the patient's venous clinical severity score (VCSS) before and after surgery at 6‐month follow‐up. Results: A total of 26 patients (14 women and 12 men) underwent ultrasound‐guided sclerotherapy in 26 lower limbs, and were followed up at 1 week, 1 month and 6 months after surgery. Short‐term complications included two severe pain during injection, one with vasovagal syncope, four with hyperpigmentation and two phlebitis. During 6‐month follow‐up, 22 were found to have complete thrombosis, and four showed partial thrombosis. There was a clear inverse relationship between SSV occlusion and SSV diameter (r = −0.502, P < 0.05), and pre‐operative VCSS evaluation (r = −0.598, P < 0.05). At the same time, there was a weak inverse relationship between SSV occlusion and the volume of foam used (r = −0.357, P < 0.05). The pre‐procedural VCSS score was 8.42 ± 3.25 and the post‐procedural VCSS score was 7.16 ± 3.14. Deep vein thrombosis, nerve injury and other important complications did not occur. Conclusions: This study shows that ultrasound‐guided foam sclerotherapy is a safe and effective method for symptomatic SSV insufficiency, with less adverse reactions and better effects. Venous lower limb ulcers are very common and affect ~1% of the general population. The human acellular amniotic membrane (HAAM), which is isolated from the amniotic membrane (AM) via excluding the majority of cellular components, has lower antigenicity than the AM. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the HAAM, adopted to treat venous ulcers (VUs) of the lower extremities. The HAMM was isolated from the AM by the Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering laboratory at the West China Hospital of Sichuan University (Chengdu, China). HAMMs were grafted onto VUs in 4 patients, with follow-up evaluations performed on the 3rd day and at the end of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd week, and 2nd, 3rd and 6th month after the HAAMs were applied. The size and depth of the VU (determined based on whether the depth of VU reaches the tibial plane), the proportion of granulation tissue (whether >50%) and the degree of secretion (measured by asessing the degree of satuation in the outer gauze) and infection (assessed qualitatively via the appearance of purulence or peripheral swelling) were assessed. Pain score was monitored at the same intervals using a visual analog scale. Complete epithelialization (healed tissue) occurred in 2 cases: The first at the end of the 3rd week and the second, at the 2nd month following HAAM induction. In one of the remaining cases, ulcer size was reduced by >60%; however the ulcer size of the remaining case only reduced by <20%. Overall, the size of ulcer in cases 1, 2, 3 and 4 decreased to 1.2x1.1 and 1.4x0.4 cm, 1.3x1.8 and 2.3x1.4, respectively, with evident decreases in ulcer depth. The proportion of granulation tissue in each case was >50%. Furthermore, purulence and secretion completely disappeared in all 4 cases. Additionally, the medical cost of HAAM treatment is substantially lower than that of AM treatment, skin autografts and biomaterial transplantation, thus alleviating the patients' financial burden. This bibliometric analysis scrutinizes the evolution and current challenges in the use of Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filters, focusing on trends from 2004 to 2023. Analyzing 2470 records, we report the United States’ dominant role, with over half of the studies, and a significant shift towards retrievable filters. Despite technological advancements, controversies persist regarding efficacy, safety, and retrieval issues. Objective: To summarize the revascularization method of infective femoral false aneurysm caused by drug injection., Methods: Between November 2003 and May 2009, 84 patients with infective femoral false aneurysm caused by drug injection were treated, and the clinical data were analysed retrospectively. There were 67 males and 17 females with an average age of 34.6 years (range, 19-51 years). The average duration of drug injection was 2.7 years (range, 1-11 years). In 13 cases, the defect of femoral artery was 3-10 cm; defect ranged from 1.0 cm x 0.3 cm to 3.0 cm x 0.7 cm in the others. The surgical treatment included bypass using synthetic grafts in 5 cases, great saphenous veins transplantation in 29 cases, repair of femoral artery in 24 cases, and ligation of femoral artery in 26 cases., Results: Two cases died of intraoperative pulmonary embolism. Eight cases had postoperative wound infection, which was cured after changing dressings. Incisions healed by first intention in the other patients. A total of 82 cases were followed up 12-36 months (mean, 17.3 months). In 56 patients undergoing artery reconstruction or repair, dorsal pedis artery pulse was significantly improved, and no distal osteofascial compartment syndrome occurred. In 26 patients undergoing femoral artery ligation, angiography at 1 week after operation showed abundant collateral circulation from ipsilateral internal iliac artery, superior gluteal artery or contralateral internal iliac artery. Three cases had postoperative intermittent claudication which was improved after symptomatic treatment., Conclusion: Infective femoral false aneurysm caused by drug injection should be treated surgically as early as possible, and effective treatments include debridement, drainage, defect repair or bypass with synthetic graft or great saphenous vein from homonymy external iliac artery to superficial femoral artery. Ligation of femoral artery is an option in patients with serious infection when revascularization is impossible.
