This paper proposes a two-level stress correction method to overcome the limitations of the element stress average method that is typically used to calculate the nodal stress in finite element analyses and increase the fatigue life evaluation accuracy at the stiffness mutation positions of large-scale structure. In the first stage, a standard-deviation-weighted stress smoothing method is used to address the high element stress dispersion at the stiffness mutation point. The second stage involves a stress gradient correction method established based on the theory that the nodal stress is affected by other nodal stresses on the stress gradient path. The nodal stresses of the key points of an 80 tons gondola car body are extracted using the two-level stress correction method, and the fatigue life of the key points is evaluated considering the load spectrum of the Daqin coal line. The fatigue lives corresponding to the measured stress spectrum at the key points are compared with the simulated values. Compared with that obtained by the traditional method, the fatigue life of the key joints obtained by the proposed method is closer to the actual fatigue life. Additionally, the nodal stress at the stiffness mutation position obtained by the proposed method is more accurate. Therefore, the two-level stress correction method is a promising platform for the fatigue life evaluation of large-scale structures.

A total of 18 variables, including clinical features and ultrasound (US) features, were used in the univariate analysis, multivariate analysis, and feature selection and were also used to develop a heterogeneous ensemble model based on five basic machine learning models, including extreme gradient boosting, k-nearest neighbors, random forest, gradient boosting, and AdaBoost. Moreover, a partial dependent plot was used to explain the heterogeneous ensemble model.Results: The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of the heterogeneous ensemble algorithm model was 0.67, which is significantly better than that of the basic machine models in predicting CLNM. All machine learning models performed better than US. Based on multivariate analysis and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, age ≤ 33 years, tumor size ≥ 0.8 cm, US-suspected CLNM, and microcalcification were risk factors for CLNM, and anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody and serum thyroglobulin levels were favorable factors for CLNM.Conclusion: The proposed heterogeneous ensemble algorithm model may be optimal tool to predict CLNM by integrating clinical and US features.Keywords: heterogeneous ensemble algorithm model, central lymph node metastasis, papillary thyroid cancer, ultrasound, machine learning model

Conventional photolithography, due to its scalability, robustness, and straightforward processes, has been widely applied to micro- and nanostructure manufacturing in electronics, optics, and biology. However, optical diffraction limits the ultimate resolution of conventional photolithography, which hinders its potential in nanoscale patterning for broader applications. Here, we introduce a derivative of conventional photolithography for nanoscale patterning called dual-layer photolithography (DLPL), which is based on the controlled exposure and development of overlapping positive and negative photoresists. In a typical experiment, substrates are sequentially coated by two layers of photoresists (both positive and negative). Then, we purposefully control the exposure time to generate slightly larger features in the positive photoresist than those in the negative photoresist. After development, their overlapping areas become the final features, which outline the original features. We demonstrate line widths down to 300 nm here, which can be readily improved with more precise control. By adjusting the lithography parameters and material deposition, the feature sizes, shapes (e.g., rings, numbers, letters), line widths (300-900 nm), and materials (e.g., SiO2, Cr, and Ag) of these features can be independently controlled. Combined with anisotropic etching, more complex three-dimensional nanostructures can be fabricated as well, as we demonstrate here with Si. We further fabricate photodetectors as an example application to show that these nanostructures fabricated by DLPL can be used to promote light-trapping MAPbI3 perovskite films to achieve good photoelectric properties. This strategy is not limited to ultraviolet photolithography and may also be incorporated into other energetic beam-based lithographic approaches, including deep and extreme ultraviolet photolithographies and electron beam lithography, to enhance their resolution.

This paper departs from the definition of Slavistics and reviews the history of international Slavic studies, from its prehistory to its formal establishment as an independent discipline in the mid-18th century, and from the Pan-Slavic movement in the mid-19th century to the confrontation of Slavistics between the East and the West in the mid-20th century during the Cold War. The paper highlights the status quo of international Slavic studies and envisions the future development of Slavic studies in China.

Nitrogen enrichment is pervasive in forest ecosystems, but its influence on understory plant communities and their stoichiometric characteristics is poorly understood. We hypothesize that when forest is enriched with nitrogen (N), the stoichiometric characteristics of plant species explain changes in understory plant diversity. A 13‐year field experiment was conducted to explore the effects of N addition on foliar carbon (C): N: phosphorus (P) stoichiometry, understory plant species richness, and intrinsic water use efficiency (iWUE) in a subtropical Chinese fir forest. Four levels of N addition were applied: 0, 6, 12, and 24 g m−2 year−1. Individual plant species were categorized into resistant plants, intermediate resistant plants, and sensitive plants based on their response to nitrogen addition. Results showed that N addition significantly decreased the number of species, genera, and families of herbaceous plants. Foliar N:P ratios were greater in sensitive plants than resistant or intermediate resistant plants, while iWUE showed an opposite trend. However, no relationship was detected between soil available N and foliar N, and soil N:P and foliar N:P ratios. Our results indicated that long‐term N addition decreased the diversity of understory plants in a subtropical forest. Through regulating water use efficiency with N addition, sensitive plants change their N:P stoichiometry and have a higher risk of mortality, while resistant plants maintain a stable N:P stoichiometry, which contributes to their survival. These findings suggest that plant N:P stoichiometry plays an important role in understory plant performance in response to environmental change of N., We found the N:P stoichiometric traits of understory plants regulate their loss or presence, in which sensitive plants have flexible N:P stoichiometry and higher risk of extinction than resistant plants that have stable N:P stoichiometry to facilitate them living in the N enrichment environments.

The effects of hydrogen treatment on electrical properties of detector-grade cadmium manganese telluride (CdMnTe:In) crystals were investigated. The results showed that the resistivity of the crystals was improved from $10^{9}$ to $10^{10} ~\Omega \cdot $ cm after annealing. With the increase of annealing time, the resistivity first increased and then decreased. Hydrogen passivation reduced the carrier concentration and enhanced mobility. The disappearance of A1 phonon mode of Te in Raman spectroscopy suggested that Te was decreased in crystal surface. The energy resolution and mobility–lifetime product of CdMnTe detectors were significantly improved. The CdMnTe:In crystal annealed for 30-h hydrogen treatment with greatest energy resolution and highest ( $\mu \tau $ )e value had the best detector performance.

In the present study, embedded photonic crystals were introduced into the p-GaN contact layer of light-emitting diodes to increase the light-extraction efficiency of flip-chip deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes. As demonstrated by performing three-dimensional finite-difference time domain simulation, the embedded photonic crystals could be designed to increase the total reflectivity on the p-GaN contact layer, thereby increasing the light-extraction efficiency. In addition, the effects of the embedded photonic crystals configurations on the light-extraction efficiency of deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes were examined. Light-extraction efficiency over 21% for transverse magnetic polarized emission could be generally expected by rigorously optimizing the active layer position, as well as the depth, period, and filling factor of photonic crystals. Moreover, an investigation was conducted on the light-extraction efficiency over the whole ultraviolet spectrum, and more light-extraction efficiency harvest on a broadband ultraviolet spectrum has been achieved as compared with flip-chip planar deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes. The optimized structure will be promising for increasing the light-extraction efficiency of AlGaN-based flip-chip deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes.

Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to examine HBsAg levels to evaluate the inhibitory effect of mPreS2 against HBV infection. The protective effects on hepatic function and preventive effects against hepatic carcinogenesis of Ad5SVP-mPreS2 were studied in diethylnitrosamine (DEN)-treated HBV transgenic Imprinting Control Region mice.Results: The recombinant adenovirus regulated by the human survivin promoter proliferated exclusively in liver cancer cells rather than normal liver cells. The expression levels of mPreS2 were increased in liver cancer cells compared with normal liver cells, and mPreS2 could be used to recognize liver cells from HBV transgenic mice. ELISA showed that HBsAg levels were decreased in the group treated with Ad5SVP-mPreS2. Ad5SVP-mPreS2 had a protective effect on hepatic function in a DEN-induced liver injury model because of lower serum levels of alanine transaminase and aspartate transaminase. Additionally, HBV transgenic mice treated with Ad5SVP-mPreS2 had fewer and smaller cancerous nodes after induction with DEN than untreated mice.Conclusion: Conditionally replicating adenovirus-mediated mPreS2 expression inhibited HBV infection and had an inhibitory effect on liver injury and hepatocellular carcinogenesis in HBV transgenic mice.Keywords: hepatitis B virus, hepatocellular carcinoma, conditionally replicating adenovirus

Many attempts have been made to apply random field theory to the slope reliability analysis in recent decades. However, there are only a few studies that consider real landslide cases by incorporating actual soil data in the probabilistic slope stability analysis with spatially variable soils. In this paper, an engineered slope located in Hong Kong was investigated using the probabilistic approach considering the Regression Kriging (RK)-based conditional random field. The slope had been assessed and considered to be safe by classical deterministic slope stability analyses but failed eventually. In this study, both deterministic slope stability analyses and probabilistic slope stability analyses were conducted, and the comparison was made between the probabilistic approach adopting RK-based conditional random field and that adopting Ordinary Kriging (OK)-based approach. The results show that the deterministic factor of safety (FS) for a slope may not be an adequate indicator of the safety margin. In particular, a slope with a higher deterministic FS may not always represent a lower probability of failure under the framework of probabilistic assessment, where the spatial variability of soil properties is explicitly considered. Besides, the critical portion of the slope could not be found using the OK-based approach that considers a constant trend structure.

In this paper, CdMnTe nanopowders with uniform shapes were prepared through a facile hydrothermal route using 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) as the stabilizer and modifier. The effects of different experimental conditions including Cd-to-MPA ratio, pH value and reaction temperature on the phase composition and formation mechanism of as-prepared nanopowders were studied. XRD results indicated as-prepared CdMnTe nanopowders were pure phase and had cubic sphalerite structure with high crystallinity. SEM and Rietveld refinement clearly showed that the powders were about 10-100 nm in size. In PL measurement, there was a strong luminescence peak in the infrared region 1.717-1.826 eV. Compared with the CdMnTe single crystal, a blue shift of about 0.109 eV indicated a wider band gap. In UV-vis spectra, the absorption peak of the sample blue shifted with the decrease of crystal size, which indicated an obvious quantum confinement effect (QCE) in nanopowders. The optimal conditions for the preparation of CdMnTe nanopowders are 180 °C for 24 h with the molar ratio 1 : 1 of Cd : MPA at pH 13. In particular, the growth kinetics and possible formation mechanism of the nanopowders were proposed.

Purpose For the purposes of patients' consultation, condition assessments, and guidance for clinicians’ choices, we developed a prognostic predictive model to evaluate the 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival (OS) rates of bone-metastatic prostate cancer (PCa) patients. Methods We gathered data from 5522 patients with bone metastatic PCa registered in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to develop a nomogram. A total of 359 bone-metastatic PCas were collected from two hospitals to validate the nomogram and assess its discriminatory ability. In addition, we plotted the actual survival against the predicted risk to assess the calibration accuracy. Moreover, we designed a web calculator to quickly obtain accurate survival probability outcomes.Results Univariate and multivariate Cox hazards regression analyses suggested that age, marital status, prostate-specific antigen, Gleason score, clinical T stage, N stage, surgery, and chemotherapy were closely associated with OS rates. The calibration charts in the training and validation groups showed high accuracy and reliability. The decision curve analysis (DCA) suggested a favorable clinical net benefit.Conclusion: Based on demography and clinical pathology, we developed a reliable nomogram to help clinicians more accurately predict the 1-, 3-, and 5-year OS rates of patients with bone metastatic PCa to guide evaluation and treatment.

Local heating using pulsed laser-induced photothermal effects on plasmonic nanostructured substrates can be used for intracellular delivery applications. However, the fabrication of plasmonic nanostructured interfaces is hampered by complex nanomanufacturing schemes. Here, we demonstrate the fabrication of large-area plasmonic gold (Au) nanodisk arrays that enable photothermal intracellular delivery of biomolecular cargo at high efficiency. The Au nanodisks (350 nm in diameter) were fabricated using chemical lift-off lithography (CLL). Nanosecond laser pulses were used to excite the plasmonic nanostructures, thereby generating transient pores at the outer membranes of targeted cells that enable the delivery of biomolecules via diffusion. Delivery efficiencies of >98% were achieved using the cell impermeable dye calcein (0.6 kDa) as a model payload, while maintaining cell viabilities at >98%. The highly efficient intracellular delivery approach demonstrated in this work will facilitate translational studies targeting molecular screening and drug testing that bridge laboratory and clinical investigations.

Forest recovery plays a critical role in regulating eco-hydrological processes in forested watersheds. However, characteristics of the intra-annual runoff variation associated with different forest recovery patterns remain poorly understood. In this study, three forest change periods were identified, the baseline period (1961–1985), reforestation period (1986 − 2000) and fruit tree planting period (2001–2016). We selected the magnitude of seasonal runoff (wet and dry seasons) and distribution characteristics, i.e., non-uniformity coefficient (Cv), complete accommodation coefficient (Cr), concentration ratio (Cn), concentration period (Cd), absolute variation ratio (ΔR) and relative variation ratio (Cmax). The pair-wise approach evaluated the intra-annual runoff variation characteristics between forest change periods. Results indicate that reforestation decreased wet season runoff and increased dry season runoff. In contrast, fruit tree planting increased wet season runoff and had no significant effect on dry season runoff. For intra-annual runoff distribution characteristics, reforestation significantly reduced the Cv, Cr, Cn and Cmax. Distribution of the intra-annual runoff in the fruit tree planting period was not significantly different from the baseline. We concluded that reforestation reduced the occurance of extreme water conditions in wet and dry seasons and effectively increased the stability of the intra-annual runoff. In contrast, fruit tree planting increased instability and fluctuation of the intra-annual runoff after reforestation. The characteristics of the intra-annual runoff to fruit tree planting was similar to those of the baseline. Therefore, adopting fruit tree planting practices to regulate intra-annual runoff characteristics may not be a practical approach, and impacts of different reforestation practices should be ascertained in our study region. The implications of this study should guide regional land–water management, and this study adds to the understanding of the impacts gained in forest cover on hydrology.

Aims Drought stress and the degree of drought severity are predicted to rise under highly variable patterns of precipitation due to climate change, while the capacity of trees to cope with drought recovery through physiological and biochemical adjustment remains unclear. We aimed to examine the coupling of physiology and biochemistry in trees during drought and the following recovery. Methods Potted seedlings of Cinnamomum camphora were grown under well watered conditions prior to the experimental drought stress, which was initiated by withholding water. Seedlings were rewatered following attainment of two drought severities: mild drought (stomatal closure) and moderate drought (ψxylem = −1.5 MPa). We measured leaf-level water potential, gas exchange (photosynthesis and stomatal conductance), abscisic acid (ABA), proline and non-structural carbohydrates (NSCs) concentrations in seedlings of C. camphora during drought and a 4-day recovery. Important Findings We found that drought severity largely determined physiological and biochemical responses and affected the rate of recovery. Stomatal closure occurred at the mild drought stress, accompanied with ABA accumulation in leaves and decline in water potential, while leaf proline accumulation and variable NSC were evident at the moderate drought stress. More severe drought stress led to delayed recovery of gas exchange, but it did not have significant effect on water potential recovery. The relationships of water potential and gas exchange differed during drought stress and post-drought recovery. There was tight coupling between water potential and gas exchange during drought, but not during rewatering due to high ABA accumulation in leaves, thereby delaying recovery of stomatal conductance. Our results demonstrate that ABA could be an important factor in delaying the recovery of stomatal conductance following rewatering and after water potential recovery of C. camphora. Furthermore, greater drought severity had significant impacts on the rate of recovery of tree physiology and biochemistry.

Plasmonic nanostructures have a wide range of applications, including chemical and biological sensing. However, the development of techniques to fabricate submicrometer-sized plasmonic structures over large scales remains challenging. We demonstrate a high-throughput, cost-effective approach to fabricate Au nanoribbons via chemical lift-off lithography (CLL). Commercial HD-DVDs were used as large-area templates for CLL. Transparent glass slides were coated with Au/Ti films and functionalized with self-assembled alkanethiolate monolayers. Monolayers were patterned with lines via CLL. The lifted-off, exposed regions of underlying Au were selectively etched into large-area grating-like patterns (200 nm line width; 400 nm pitch; 60 nm height). After removal of the remaining monolayers, a thin In2O3 layer was deposited and the resulting gratings were used as plasmonic sensors. Distinct features in the extinction spectra varied in their responses to refractive index changes in the solution environment with a maximum bulk sensitivity of ∼510 nm/refractive index unit. Sensitivity to local refractive index changes in the near-field was also achieved, as evidenced by real-time tracking of lipid vesicle or protein adsorption. These findings show how CLL provides a simple and economical means to pattern large-area plasmonic nanostructures for applications in optoelectronics and sensing.

Description, A smartwatch was developed for noninvasive stress biomarker data acquisition that provides real-time feedback to the wearer., Wearable technologies for personalized monitoring require sensors that track biomarkers often present at low levels. Cortisol—a key stress biomarker—is present in sweat at low nanomolar concentrations. Previous wearable sensing systems are limited to analytes in the micromolar-millimolar ranges. To overcome this and other limitations, we developed a flexible field-effect transistor (FET) biosensor array that exploits a previously unreported cortisol aptamer coupled to nanometer-thin-film In2O3 FETs. Cortisol levels were determined via molecular recognition by aptamers where binding was transduced to electrical signals on FETs. The physiological relevance of cortisol as a stress biomarker was demonstrated by tracking salivary cortisol levels in participants in a Trier Social Stress Test and establishing correlations between cortisol in diurnal saliva and sweat samples. These correlations motivated the development and on-body validation of an aptamer-FET array–based smartwatch equipped with a custom, multichannel, self-referencing, and autonomous source measurement unit enabling seamless, real-time cortisol sweat sensing.

Here, we report the scalable fabrication of 2i-functionalized micro-pyramid-array (μPyA/+2i) inserts for use in commercial multi-well plates, as the alternative cultivation platform for maintaining long-term self-renewal and pluripotency of multiple mESCs and mouse induced pluripotent stem cells. Relevant evidence including cell morphology characterization increased alkaline phosphatase activity, high expression of mESC self-renewal markers, decreased levels of differentiation-associated markers, and high proportion of self-renewal marker cells are provided. Further studies demonstrated that μPyA/+2i could cause a higher cell density in mESC colony, and induce gene expression changes. Subsequent studies showed that μPyA/+2i can influence the cytoskeleton and promote cell adhesion through Cldn-7 upregulation. In summary, these μPyA/+2i inserts offer flexible and gelatin-free micro-envriomnets to maintain long-term self-renewal and pluripotency of mESCs. Enabled by the microstructured inserst, the facile stem cell manipulation and transfer among culture dishes will broaden stem cells both in routine and translational applications.

Background and Aims The diversity of plant functional groupsin plantations affects soil carbon, but we have limited understanding of the underlying mechanisms for how to plant management affects soil carbon dynamics. Methods We conducted a 3-year manipulation experiment of plant functional groups that included understory removal, tree root trenching, and fertilization treatments in 2-year-old and 6-year-old Eucalyptus plantations in the subtropical region, to explore soil carbon emission and microbial community composition. Results Soil respiration was significantly suppressed by understory removal (-38%), tree root trenching (-41%), and their interactions (-54%), but that fertilization alone and in interactions had no significant effect. Soil bacterial and fungal communities were also affected by understory removal and tree root trenching. Soil respiration, physicochemical characteristics, microbial diversity, and community composition were significantly affected by plantation age. Reductions in soil carbon emissions were associated with reductions in plant functional groups and soil microbial groups, while increases in soil respiration were associated with soil physicochemical factors, soil temperature, and plantation age. Conclusion Our findings highlight that plant managements are of great significance to the soil carbon emission processes in afforested plantations.

Box girder is an important bearing and force transmitting component in the gondola car body; the rationality of its structure directly affects the life of the whole car body. In order to solve disadvantage of the traditional box girder optimization method, which mainly depends on design experience, the combined method of orthogonal experimental design and the genetic algorithm-back propagation (GA-BP) algorithm is used for the structural optimization of bolster beam in this paper. Nine groups of parameters were established by orthogonal experiment, which can give typical samples for GA-BP optimization. Then, the bolster beam is optimized by the GA-BP algorithm, and the new gondola car body model is established with the optimized parameters. The finite element analysis results show that the minimum stress is found by using the GA-BP algorithm, which is basically consistent with the simulation results. Finally, the results show that the combined method of orthogonal experimental design and GA-BP algorithm is feasible to the box girder optimization of the gondola car body. Meanwhile, the optimization results of bolster beam will provide a reference for the structural design of the heavy haul wagon body.

The low-toxicity treatment of chromium-containing wastewater represents an important way of addressing key environmental problems. In this study, a core-shell structural ZIF-8@TiO2 photocatalyst was synthesized by a simple one-step hydrothermal method. The obtained composite photocatalyst possessed improved photocatalytic activity compared with TiO2. The results indicated that the optimized ZIF-8@TiO2 composite exhibited the highest removal efficiency with 93.1% of Cr(VI) after 120 min under UV-vis irradiation. The removal curves and XPS results indicated that the adsorbed Cr(VI) on the ZIF-8 during the dark process was preferentially reduced. The superior removal efficiency of ZIF-8@TiO2 is attributed to the combination of both high adsorption of ZIF-8, which attracted Cr(VI) on the composite surface, and the high separation efficiency of photo-induced electron-hole pairs. For the mixture of wastewater that contained methyl orange and Cr(VI), 97.1% of MO and 99.7% of Cr(VI) were removed after 5 min and 60 min light irradiation, respectively. The high removal efficiency of multiple pollutants provides promising applications in the field of Cr(VI) contaminated industrial wastewater treatment.

In order to find out the root cause of cross bearer welds’ cracks on the general purpose gondola cars, the relationship between asymmetric structure and stress distribution is studied in this paper. Firstly, the concept of asymmetry coefficient is proposed, and the asymmetric coefficients’ calculation methods of independent and dependent variables are given respectively in two-dimensional space. Secondly, according to the different positions of side column 1 and side column 2, 30 local models are established, the cross bearer weld stresses are extracted after finite element simulation, and the stress distribution clusters are formed. Finally, the asymmetry coefficients of the side columns are calculated, and the correlation between the positions of the side columns and the weld stresses is studied by the methods of Pearson correlation coefficient and complex correlation coefficient. The results show that the correlation between the stress of cross bearer weld 2 and the positions of the side columns is much higher. This research can not only provide an important basis for the structural optimization of 80t gondola car body, and it also provides reference for the structural design of the gondola car body.

Purpose Although the prognosis of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) is excellent, cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) is commonly observed in PTMC. This study aimed to investigate the incidence and risk factors for CLNM in PTMC. Patients and Methods Altogether, 687 patients with PTMC who initially underwent unilateral thyroidectomy with unilateral central lymph node dissection or bilateral thyroidectomy with bilateral central lymph node dissection between January 2014 and June 2018 at our hospital were included. The patients were divided into two groups: PTMC with CLNM and PTMC with no CLNM. The clinicopathologic characteristics and ultrasound features were compared between the groups. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify the risk factors for CLNM. Results CLNM was observed in 121/687 (17.6%) patients with PTMC. While tools for monitoring in vivo electrophysiology have been extensively developed, neurochemical recording technologies remain limited. Nevertheless, chemical communication via neurotransmitters plays central roles in brain information processing. We developed implantable aptamer-field-effect transistor (FET) neuroprobes for monitoring neurotransmitters. Neuroprobes were fabricated using high-throughput microelectromechanical system (MEMS) technologies, where 150 probes with shanks of either 150- or 50-mu m widths and thicknesses were fabricated on 4-inch Si wafers. Nanoscale FETs with ultrathin (similar to 3 to 4 nm) In2O3 semiconductor films were prepared using sol-gel processing. The In2O3 surfaces were coupled with synthetic oligonucleotide receptors (aptamers) to recognize and to detect the neurotransmitter serotonin. Aptamer-FET neuroprobes enabled femtomolar serotonin detection limits in brain tissue with minimal biofouling. Stimulated serotonin release was detected in vivo. Surface modification of inorganic nanomaterials with biomolecules has enabled the development of composites integrated with extensive properties. Lanthanide ion-doped upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) are one class of inorganic nanomaterials showing optical properties that convert photons of lower energy into higher energy. Additionally, DNA oligonucleotides have exhibited powerful capabilities for organizing various nanomaterials with versatile topological configurations. Through rational design and nanotechnology, DNA-based UCNPs offer predesigned functionality and potential. To fully harness the capabilities of UCNPs integrated with DNA, various DNA-UCNP composites have been developed for diagnosis and therapeutics. In this review, beginning with the introduction of the UCNPs and the conjugation of DNA strands on the surface of UCNPs, we present an overview of the recent progress of DNA-UCNP composites while focusing on their applications for bioanalysis and therapeutics.
