Background: Pressure ulcers are caused by long-term pressure on tissues. Hip pressure ulcers are the most common type. Pressure ulcers in the buttocks are classified into three types: sacrococcygeal, ischial tuberosity, and femoral tuberosity. Methods: We used perigluteal muscle tissue flaps to treat nine cases of grade IV pressure ulcers from January 2016 to August 2018. A retrospective study was conducted on all patients who had an ischial tuberosity pressure ulcer repaired with a perigluteal muscle flap. The gluteus maximus myocutaneous flap was combined with the gluteal fasciocutaneous flap, the biceps femoris myocutaneous flap was combined with the gluteal fasciocutaneous flap, the gracilis myocutaneous flap, the biceps femoris myocutaneous flap, and the semitendinosus and semimembranosus myocutaneous flap. Wounds of different sizes and depths were encountered, the details of which are discussed in treatment methods. Data from patients, including age, gender, cause of injury, wound dimensions, the timing of flap coverage, and complications, were analyzed. Results: The appearance of the skin flap was complete after muscular tissue flap repair, with no visible scar hyperplasia. However, after six to 12 months of follow-up, the flap was soft and left a small linear scar. Conclusions: In the repair of an ischial tuberosity pressure ulcer, a peri gluteal muscle flap provides both aesthetic and functional results. Before using muscle tissue flap transplantation, it is recommended to perform multiple debridement + VSD to improve the wound foundation.

Objective: To elucidate the role of phosphatidylcholine‐specific phospholipase C (PC‐PLC) in the antituberculosis (anti‐TB) immune response mediated by dendritic cells (DCs). Methods: In vivo, C57BL/6J mice infected with the Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain H37Rv. Before infection, the mice were pretreated with the PC‐PLC inhibitor D609. Bacillary loads in lung and spleen tissues were quantified through colony‐forming unit (CFU) assays. Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining was performed to assess inflammatory infiltration and tissue damage. Levels of inflammatory mediators in peripheral venous blood were quantified using enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs). Flow cytometry was employed to determine the proportions of conventional DCs (cDCs) and their subsets, cDC1 and cDC2, within lung, spleen, and lymph node tissues. In vitro, mouse bone marrow‐derived dendritic cells (BMDCs) pretreated with D609. The expression levels of chemokines and pro‐inflammatory cytokines were assessed via quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and ELISA. BMDCs were loaded with H37Rv expressing red fluorescent protein (RFP‐H37Rv) or DQ‐OVA, and flow cytometry was utilized to analyze the impact of D609 on antigen phagocytosis and processing. Furthermore, flow cytometry was employed to evaluate the effect of D609 pretreatment on the expression levels of costimulatory molecules on BMDCs. The capacity of D609‐treated BMDCs to activate and proliferate T cells, as well as to induce interferon‐gamma (IFN‐γ) secretion, was assessed through a DC‐T cell coculture system. Results: In vivo analysis revealed that mice pretreated with D609 exhibited a marked increase in tissue bacterial load, enhanced inflammatory infiltration, and a reduction in pro‐inflammatory mediator expression in peripheral venous blood. There was a notable decrease in the number of cDCs in lung and lymph node tissues, with a pronounced reduction in cDC1 in the lungs and cDC2 in the lymph nodes. In vitro studies demonstrated that D609 pretreated BMDCs displayed a significant decline in inflammatory mediator production, antigen phagocytosis, and antigen processing capabilities, potentially due to altered expression of costimulatory molecules. Coculture experiments indicated that D609 pretreated BMDCs showed a substantial reduction in their ability to stimulate T cell activation, proliferation, and IFN‐γ secretion. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that PC‐PLC plays a critical role in the functionality of DCs, including the production of chemokines and pro‐inflammatory cytokines, migration to lymph nodes, and antigen presentation to T cells, which collectively contribute to T cell activation and effective clearance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Further investigation into the regulatory mechanisms of PC‐PLC in DCs may uncover novel therapeutic targets for the development of advanced anti‐TB treatments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Low microwave loss and regulatable kinetic inductance are two key characteristics of superconducting films to manufacture high-performance quantum devices. Epitaxial titanium nitride (TiN) thin films have been found to exhibit significant advantages in these two aspects. In this paper, we investigated into the dielectric loss and kinetic inductance of epitaxial TiN films, which were prepared on both silicon and sapphire substrates with different temperatures. Crystal structure, surface morphology, and superconducting properties were characterized systematically. The radio-frequency response of microwave resonators made of TiN films was studied at low temperatures to extract the information of kinetic inductance and quality factor. We obtained the highest internal quality factor up to 1.6 × 10 6 at single photon regime and achieved a regulation of kinetic inductance exceeding 16 times by altering the substrate and the sputtering temperature of the TiN films. This work not only provides an essential foundation for the precise design and preparation of low-loss TiN resonators for superconducting quantum bits, but also demonstrates TiN film as an excellent material platform with both low microwave loss and high kinetic inductance that can be applied in other fields such as microwave kinetic inductance detectors. Over the past decades, accumulating evidence suggests that the gut microbiome exerts a key role in Alzheimer's disease (AD). The Alzheimer's Association Workgroup is updating the diagnostic criteria for AD, which changed the profiles and categorization of biomarkers from "AT(N)" to "ATNIVS." Previously, most of studies focus on the correlation between the gut microbiome and amyloid beta deposition ("A"), the initial AD pathological feature triggering the "downstream" tauopathy and neurodegeneration. However, limited research investigated the interactions between the gut microbiome and other AD pathogenesis ("TNIVS"). In this review, we summarize current findings of the gut microbial characteristics in the whole spectrum of AD. Then, we describe the association of the gut microbiome with updated biomarker categories of AD pathogenesis. In addition, we outline the gut microbiome‐related therapeutic strategies for AD. Finally, we discuss current key issues of the gut microbiome research in the AD field and future research directions. Nonlinear resonators of superconducting thin-film kinetic inductance have attracted considerable research interest in the fields of detectors, qubits, parametric amplifiers, and more. By tuning the deposition parameters, niobium titanium nitride (NbTiN) films (∼12 nm in thickness) present high resistivity(∼2000 μΩ cm) and large sheet kinetic inductance (∼0.7 nH/□). We designed resonators with NbTiN micronwire as the inductor and aluminum as the capacitor, which result in a high internal quality factor and a Kerr nonlinearity of a few hertz. The radio frequency response of the resonators demonstrates nonlinear behavior similar to that of the cubic Duffing oscillator, including frequency shift and hysteresis region. The kinetic inductance resonator is a promising candidate for high saturation power parametric amplifiers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is the most toxic mycotoxin and is widespread in moldy feed. The use of biological removal methods to reduce AFB1 has become a research hotspot. This study aimed to isolate lactic acid bacteria (LAB) capable of removing AFB1 from moldy feeds and assessed the removal capacity under various environmental conditions. A strain named Lactobacillus brevis DN-1 was isolated from feed samples and showed 71.38% AFB1 percent removal. Furthermore, DN-1 showed good antifungal activity against Aspergillus flavus BNCC336156 and Aspergillus parasiticus BNCC335939. The optimum growth temperature and pH of DN-1 were 37 °C and 6.0, respectively, and DN-1 grew well in the concentration range of 0–20 µg/L AFB1. Under a temperature of 20–40 °C, pH of 3.0–9.0, and anaerobic conditions, the percent removal of AFB1 was more than 60%. An analysis of the different components of DN-1 showed that cell wall adsorption was the main removal method and suggested the pathway for AFB1 removal by LAB. In addition, strain DN-1 was used as a biological preservative in artificially contaminated peanut and sunflower cakes, which significantly inhibited the growth of mold and production of AFB1. In brief, this study highlights the potential use of DN-1 as a preventive agent against aflatoxicosis via strong removal capability in the application of fermented feed or food. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
