We report on a general search for neutral and charged Higgs bosons with no assumption that the Higgs sector consists of a single doublet as in the minimal standard model. No signal inconsistent with background is observed in any of the decay channels analysed. From the results of direct searches, model independent limits on Higgs bremsstrahlung and on Higgs pair production from the Z0 are presented. We interpret the bremsstrahlung limits in the general two-doublet model. Z0 lineshape measurements further restrict the parameter space available in the two-doublet model. Finally, the results are interpreted in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model., Facultad de Ciencias Exactas

23rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition, 1-5 September 2008, Valencia, Spain; 2297-2300, We studied the boron contamination at the interface between the p and i layers of μc-Si:H solar cells deposited in a single-chamber PECVD system. The boron depth profile in the i layer was measured by Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy. We founded that the mixed-phase μc-Si:H materials with 40% crystalline volume fraction is easy to be affected by the residual boron in the reactor. The experimental results showed that both a 500-nm thick μc-Si:H covering layer and a 30 seconds of hydrogen plasma treatment can effectively reduce the boron contamination at the p/i interface. However, from cost reduction point of view, the hydrogen plasma treatment is desirable for solar cell manufacture because the substrate is not moved during the hydrogen plasma treatment.

The ratios of cross sections, Rb = a(e+e- → bb)/a(e+e- → hadrons) and R, = cr(e+e- → E)/a(e+e- → hadrons) and , and the forward-backward asymmetries and , have been measured by the four LEP experiments at centre-of-mass energies close to the Z boson mass, using a variety of heavy flavour identification techniques and analysis methods. The procedure adopted to combine these measurements is described here. It takes into account the statistical and systematic correlations among the measurements and their interdependences in a χ2 minimization. In this report we summarize the major results from the first three years of running of the L3 detector at the Large Electron Positron collider (LEP). The L3 detector was designed to measure electrons, photons and muons with high precision; it has achieved (DELTAE/E) almost-equal-to 1.4% for electrons and photons at E = 45 GeV and (DELTAp/p) almost-equal-to 2.5% for muons at p = 45 GeV. Most of the experimental results presented are based on approximately 500 000 Z events. The data provide four independent checks of the Standard Model weak neutral currents to an accuracy of almost-equal-to 1%. These are: the measurement of Z parameters; the measurement of the forward-backward charge asymmetry of lepton pairs; the measurement of asymmetry parameters from Z --> bbBAR decays; and the measurement of the tau lepton polarization asymmetry. The data also provide information on weak charged currents from measurements of b hadrons such as decay width, lifetime, and B0-B0BAR mixing, and from measurements Of tau leptons such as their lifetime and branching ratios. The large number of Z events and the resolution of the L3 detector allow precision tests of QED and QCD, including the production of pi0, eta and hard photons. Leptonic final states with hard isolated photons are analyzed and high mass photon pairs are observed. Higgs boson production has not been observed and limits are given in the context of the Standard Model and its supersymmetric extensions. We also present upper limits on rare Z decays such as Z --> gammagammagamma and on flavor violating decays such as Z --> etau, mutau. Finally, upper limits obtained in the search for various new particles and new interactions are reported.

We have searched for excited taus from Z0 decay in the channels e + e − → τ ∗+ τ ∗− → τ + τ − γ γ and e + e − → ττ ∗ → τ + τ − γ , using the L3 detector at LEP. Using the τ ∗ pair production channel, we can exclude a τ ∗ up to a mass of 45.5 geV at 95% confidence level. We have also determined upper limits on the ττ ∗ Z 0 and ττ ∗ γ couplings as a function of m τ∗ up to 89.3 GeV.
