The Incarnation Mystery in the writings of John of the Cross as a reverberation of Johannine Christology. This thesis analyzes the mystery of Incarnation in the mystical experience and doctrine of John of the Cross, a Spanish Carmelite from 16th century, and searches for traces of the testimony of the Fourth Gospel in his conception of this mystery. Based on analysis of excerpts of his writings it concludes that the mystery of Incarnation has crucial role both in his experience and his writings. It consists in the fact that Jesus - the Word incarnate - is a principal agent in the process of uniting with God: He is both a model for a Christian to shape him or herself after and a beloved Spouse with whom he or she should be united and so enter a loving communion with Father and Son and the Holy Spirit. The main work which reveals how much John of the Cross esteems the mystery of Incarnation is a poetic paraphrase of the Gospel of John: Romance based on the Gospel »In principio erat verbum«. The work is going to analyze Augustine's treatise De bono coniugali and its importance for the theology of marriage. After presenting the concept of marriage as an institution in the Roman empire and in writings of selected authors of Christian East and West in the first four centuries and also considering the developing monastic tradition, it is further dealing with the personality and works of Augustine of Hippo, especially with his treatise De bono coniugali; not only in the context of a response to then controversies, but especially as a first formalized and structured science of a church father on marriage. The thesis is dealing with a topic of a motherhood in the history of salvation in the books of Pavel Evdokimov Woman and the salvation of the World and The Sacrament of Love. In the first part of the thesis is seen under the perspective of author the human being in the complex picture of a God's plan with the specific for the role of women in it. The main part of the work than is studying the role of motherhood of woman as a key vocation, which is possible to life in the physical form (in a marriage) or in a spiritual form (in a consecrated life). The last but one part emphasises the ideal, which Pavel Evdokimov sees in the model of Virgin Mary and the las chapter aims to reflect the role of motherhood and its importance for situation of nowadays woman. The thesis deals with St. Augustineś concept of human nature from the anthropological perspective and in its relation to Godś grace. It is based on a detailed description of the period in which St. Augustine lived; both in terms of a school of thoughts of educated classes of the Roman Empire and in terms of general relations among people of that era. This matter becomes more apparent in a polemic with other contemporary concepts about mans salvation.

The thesis The Parish Community at the Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola in Prague in the Years 1950-1990 describes, as the title suggests, the history of the Parish Community during the communist era. Both the history of the church itself and that of spiritual administration, Pastoral Care, and Priestley House, which was established after the expulsion of the Jesuits from their residence, are investigated in the thesis. The aim of this work is to fully comprehend and meticulously organize the sources of information and therefore fill the gap in the history of this place, for the records of activities and events in the parish were not kept systematically during the communist era.

Theology of the Sacrament of Reconciliation in Časopis pro katolické duvhovenstvo/Časopis katolického duchovenstva The theme of this thesis is a theological reflection of the sacrament of reconciliation, as it recorded in Časopis katolického duchovenstva [Journal of the Catholic Clergy] throughout the whole period of its publication in the years 1828-1949. In the first part a short history of the journal is presented. The second part examines, in the chronological order, individual articles and shows how selected authors deal with the studied issue, which aspects they stress and on what conception of the sacrament of reconciliation they build their argument. In the exposition of these articles their authors are also briefly introduced. Author of this thesis has chosen several fundamental perspectives for his analysis and for his structuring of his treatment of individual articles. These approaches to texts were: author's own basic stance, the establishment of the sacrament, its historical development, parts assigned to the penitent and to the priest, the effects of the sacrament of reconciliation and author's conception of this sacrament. The thesis Jiří Reinsberg (1918-2004) in the light of the written legacy is a finding aid of the archive fund consisting of the written bequest of Jiří Reinsberg: The czech roman-catholic priest, significant agent of the liturgical movement, scout, writer and publicist. In addition to the fundamental data of the archive fund, the thesis contains a biographical presentation of Jiří Reinsberg based on this fund as well as available bibliography, and a brief presentation of the archive fund and its thorough inventory. It also conducts a survey of other existing documentation to Jiří Reinsberg and recent research of his personality. Further, the thesis answers questions about the position of the archive fund in the context of the existing documentation to Jiří Reinsberg. It also shows the most significant components of the fund, the information about Jiří Reinsberg presented in the fund, and the importance of the fund for further research of Jiří Reinsberg. Title Selected issues from theology of St. Irenaeus of Lyons Abstract This license thesis presents insights about life, work and teachings of the St. Bishop and Martyr Irenaeus of Lyons. His origin from Asia Minor from the circle around St. Polycarp of Smyrna, a disciple of St. John the Evangelist, shows his knowledge of the theology of the school of St. John, which is in his works evident. Contacts with Rome give him a basis for a fundamental theological argumentation about the primacy of the Church of Rome, based on the Sts. Apostles Peter and Paul. Also his intervention by St. Pope Victor I in the controversy about the date of Easter is described. He was as a Bishop of Lyons also active apologetically especially against gnosis, what confirms his writing Adversus haereses. Evangelization efforts are expressed in the work Demonstratio Apostolicae praedicationis as "the oldest catechism of Christian doctrine" (Benedict XVI). The thesis presents firstly the political and historical situation in the Late Roman Empire in which the Church was granted liberty. Through the historical events is shown how the theological discussions were jointed and influenced by the contemporary political situation of the Empire. Secondly, the life of the Pope Innocent I before and during his pontificate is presented and Nachleben of Innocent as a saint man, the style of his letters is involved too. In the same chapter is his pontificate described and discussed through letters, which he sent to various groups of bishops. These are divided into the following groups: Eastern bishops, bishops in Europe, boshops of Africa and the letters as a support for his friend John Chrysostom. In all these fields Innocent treats self-confidently, with the authority of the Roman bishop, but the kinds of claims to his authority depends on geographical location in which the letters are sent. Alongside the contribution of the basic introduction to the letters of the Pope Innocent I this thesis also offers the short excursion to the philological analysis and the selected theological topics (especially liturgical) of his letters.

Abstract The thesis "Confucian ethical principles in managing Asian companies" will present the ethical principles of Confucianism that affect the current management of Asian companies at Eastern Asia. The work will introduce with history of Confucianism, its influence on the culture in Asian countries and with some dominant elements, which over the centuries strengthen to certain ethical standards determinating the way of today's management of Chinese, Korean and partly Japanese companies. Many of these companies do operate in western countries with different cultural tradition based on Christianity. Presenting of some ethical principles in Asian management in the context of cultural traditions allows for deeper intercultural understanding. From the relatively extensive works of Joseph Ratzinger we will first look up more significant texts dealing with hope. Then the collected materials will be studied and we will attempt to analyze, evaluate and compare them. The aim of our thesis will be to capture Ratzinger's basic line of thought concerning hope. We will also try to contrast Ratzinger's basic conception of hope with other approaches to this topic which he has encountered during his life since from our point of view, these approaches were often either incorrect or too narrow- minded. Thus we will be dealing especially with Ratzinger's texts originating from the time of his academic career. Furthermore, we will analyze also the texts written in the period when Professor Ratzinger was invited, as the Prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of Faith, to lecture on hope. However, in the section dealing with methodology we will attempt to distinguish texts coming from Ratzinger's pre- and post-Congregation career. Since the topic of hope is closely related to soteriology and eschatology, we will include these disciplines into our thesis, though only marginally. The mystery of Jesus Christ's life in reflections of guests and staff of Radio Proglas The thesis is written at the Department of Dogmatic and Fundamental Theology of Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague under the lead of prof. Ctirad V. Pospíšil, Th.D. The main source of author's research is the collection of 230 minutes of Radio Proglas programme called "Myšlenka na den" (The Thought of the Day). This collection is analyzed form the point of the view of Christology and soteriology. The second source is the theological literature, especially the prof. Ctirad V. Pospíšil's monography Jesus of Nazareth, Lord and Saviour, which is used as the theoretical base of the thesis. This theoretical base is illustrated by appropriate texts from the programme "Myšlenka na den". "Myšlenka na den" is the everyday programme: a reflection, where its author contemplates and comments the events of the civic and liturgical year. It is a personal reflection of people of Christian faith. The authors of "Myšlenka na den", guests and staff of Radio Proglas, are in 90 per cents of Roman Catholic confession.
