The beginning of husbandry in the Iberian Peninsula has been documented from the second half of the 6th millennium BCE and was based on the breeding of domestic caprines, mainly sheep. The first evidence of these practices comes from the Mediterranean region, but they quickly expanded inland. Previous studies have reported on the importance of the El Mirador sheepfold cave (Sierra de Atapuerca, Burgos, Spain) for understanding the process of the adoption of a farming economy in this inland region. In this study, we focus on husbandry and sheep management occurring in the 6th and 5th millennium cal BCE occupations of El Mirador cave by means of sequential oxygen (δ18O) and carbon (δ13C) isotope analyses in sheep molar tooth enamel. The results show a rapid adaptation and adoption of domestic sheep in the inland of the Iberian Peninsula. In El Mirador cave, well-organised sheep breeding was developed based on the concentration of births at the end of winter and early spring, for a period of ~2.64 months, which made husbandry more compatible with other economic activities. In 5th millennium levels, autumn births were also documented and may be indicative of the intervention of the shepherd in the reproductive cycle of the sheep and of a progressive adaptation of these animals to the interior of the Peninsula. All these strategies may have been supported by the recurrent occupations of the sheepfold, flocks grazing in the areas surrounding the cave and the possible use of leaf fodder in winter.

The lberian Península provides an excellent context in which to assess the final impact of population movements entering the European continent from the east as well as prehistoric and historie connections with North Africa. We report new genome-wide data from 271 ancient individuals from Iberia, providing the most comprehensive genetic time transect of any world region over the last 8,000 years. We document population structure in the peninsula's hunter-gatherers, with northwestern but not southeastern individuals showing increased genetic affinity to central European hunter-gatherers in the centuries befare the arrival of farmers. We provide evidence of sporadic contacts from North Africa beginning at least -4,500 years ago, and by -4,000 years ago the replacement of -40% of the autosomal ancestry and 100% of the Y-chromosomes of Bronze Age groups by migrants ultimately originating in the steppe. From the lron Age, we report genome-wide data from individuals excavated in non-lndo-European speaking regions and show that they were genetically similar to contemporaries from an lndo-European-speaking region in harboring substantial proportions of steppe ancestry. With the exception of Basques who remain broadly similar to lron Age populations, during the past 2,500 years lberian populations were affected by additional gene-flow from the central/eastern Mediterranean region, probably associated with the Roman conques!, and from North Africa during the period of Muslim rule but also in earlier periods. Die EU schreibt Höchstgrenzen für die Konzentration bestimmter Schadstoffe vor. Es obliegt den Kommunen, diese Höchstgrenzen einzuhalten. Obwohl seitens des Verkehrsmanagements hierzu Ansätze existieren, zeigt eine Auswertung der MARLIS-Datenbank, die solche Maßnahmen sowie deren Beurteilungen beinhaltet, dass die Ziele nicht immer erreicht werden. Üblicherweise werden Verkehrsmanagementmaßnahmen mit Hilfe von Simulationen vorab bewertet. Im Fall großflächiger Simulationen gibt es dabei eine Diskrepanz zwischen der Größe des Gebietes und der gewünschten Genauigkeit. Insbesondere Emissionsmodelle benötigen Informationen über die Geschwindigkeiten und Beschleunigungen einzelner Fahrzeuge, die von in großflächigen Szenarien üblicherweise genutzten makroskopischen Modellen nicht geliefert werden. Innerhalb des EU-Projektes „COLOMBO“ ist die mikroskopische Verkehrsflusssimulation „SUMO“ um eine „leichtere“ Version des Emissionsmodells „PHEM“ erweitert worden. Das Zusammenspiel beider Modelle erlaubt die Auswertung großflächiger Ansätze des Ver-kehrsmanagements zur Schadstoffreduktion. Am Beispiel des Szenarios der Stadt Braunschweig, welches für das Großforschungsprojekt „AIM“ erstellt worden ist, werden drei Maßnahmen untersucht: zwei Umweltzonen sowie eine Begrenzung der Höchstgeschwindigkeit auf Tempo 30 in Wohngebieten.

Heinrich Event 3 (H3) is well documented in the North Atlantic Ocean as a cooling event that occurred ca. 31 000 years ago. Deep-sea cores around the Iberian Peninsula coastline have been analysed to characterize the H3 event, but there are no data on the terrestrial response to this event. Here we present for the first time an analysis of terrestrial proxies for characterizing the H3 event, using the small-vertebrate assemblage (comprising small mammals, squamates and amphibians) from the Galls Carboners cave, an archaeo-palaeontological deposit located in the Prades mountain range in the north-eastern Iberian Peninsula. This assemblage shows the H3 event to be characterized in north-eastern Iberia by harsher and drier terrestrial conditions than today. Our results were compared with the small-vertebrate assemblage data recovered from present-day Strix aluco pellets available from this site, as well as with the general H3 event fluctuations and with other sites where the previous Heinrich events (H5 and H4) and subsequent Late Glacial Maximum have been detected in the Mediterranean and Atlantic regions of the Iberian Peninsula. L’ objectiu principal d’ aquest projecte és el de dissenyar una nova explotació de boví de llet a la granja “Mas Masdevall”, a Olot, comarca de la Garrotxa, província de Girona, per tal de traslladar l’explotació existent a una ubicació més allunyada; a més d’aquest canvi d’ubicació, també s’augmentarà el nombre de vaques de la granja de les 80 originals a una capacitat total de 120 vaques en producció. Aquest projecte planteja la construcció d’una nau per a l’allotjament de les vaques en producció, una sala de munyir-lleteria, un femer i una fossa de purins. La nau de producció tindrà una capacitat per a 120 vaques en producció en llotges individuals, 7 places d’infermeria, 7 per maternitat, 12 vaques eixutes totes en jaç de palla, a més de 51 places per vedelles en jaç i un lot de 22 vedelles d’entre 16 i 22 mesos en llotges individuals per facilitar la posterior estabulació durant la producció. També s’ubicaran 14 boxes individuals per els vedells i la recria al costat de la nau. La sala de munyir serà de 2x10 places paral·leles a més de la sala d’espera i l’oficina lleteria

Introducció: La condroïtina sulfat pertany al grup dels fàrmacs d'acció simptomàtica lenta (SYSADOA), que es caracteritzen pel fet de presentar una eficàcia sobre els símptomes semblant a la dels antiinflamatoris no esteroïdals, que comença d'una manera gradual però que es perllonga més enllà de la supressió del tractament. Material i mètodes: En total 9 assajos clínics, aleatoritzats, a doble cec, han comparat l'efecte de la condroïtina sulfat amb el del placebo i, en un cas, amb el del diclofenac sòdic (150 mg/dia) en pacients amb artrosi de genoll i dits, tractats durant períodes que van oscil·lar entre 3 i 36 mesos. Resultats: Els resultats de tots els assajos clínics coincideixen a concloure que la condroïtina sulfat és més eficaç (aproximadament el 50%; p < 0,05) que el placebo per reduir el dolor espontani, augmentar la capacitat funcional, disminuir la ingesta de medicació de rescat i en la valoració global del pacient i l'investigador. Al mateix temps, els resultats també confirmen l'elevat perfil de seguretat del producte. En un nou assaig clínic realitzat en un total de 1.583 pacients amb artrosi de genoll, en el qual es va estudiar l'efecte de la glucosamina (1.500 mg/dia), de la condroïtina sulfat (1.200 mg/dia) i de la seva associació davant de celecoxib (200 mg/dia) i placebo durant un període de 6 mesos, es va observar una disminució significativa de la inflamació, acompanyada o no de vessament articular, en el grup tractat amb condroïtina sulfat, respecte de placebo (p = 0,01). Conclusió: En definitiva, es pot concloure que la condroïtina sulfat és una eina terapèutica de gran utilitat per al tractament de l'artrosi.
