Abstract

Lipids from seeds of three plants of the Asteraceae family, Cousinia franchetii, Arctium leiospermum, and Rhaponticum integrifolium, were studied. The principal constituents of lipids from the three plants were shown to be acylglycerides of ordinary fatty acids and oxygenated fatty acids using chemical and chromatographic analyses. Abstract

Chemical, chromatographic, and spectral methods were used to show that the main components of the lipid extract of flowers and leaves are free and bound aliphatic and cyclic alcohols (sterols and triterpenols) and essential oil. 95. 1H and13C NMR spectra of transformation products of gossypol in solutions

Abstract

The complete cycle of the transformation of gossypol in solutions takes place in the measuring ampul of a NMR spectrometer. It has been established for the first time that, in methanol, gossypol is converted into stereoisomeric dilactol 15,15'-dimethyl ethers which change into dianhydrogossypol in chloroform and back into gossypol in aqueous acetone. The1H and13C NMR spectra of the main and intermediate products of the conversion of gossypol in the solvents mentioned have been studied in detail for the first time and a complete assignment of their resonance characteristics has been made. It has been shown that dianhydrogossypol is formed through intermediate stereoisomeric 15,15'-dimethyl ethers of the dilactol form of gossypol.

Abstract

The article examines the fatty acid constituent of Silene's trichloromethane (CHCl3) extracts and their antibacterial activity in Central Asia. It notes that the isolated neutral lipids (NL) of the extracts include free fatty acids, triglycerides, and free sterols. It finds out that its qualitative fatty acid composition from the aerial parts of the plant's species has 15 acids. Meanwhile, the antibacterial activity of the extracts is exhibited against different bacteria species.
