Abstract

Diploma thesis deals with current priorities of energy policy within EU region, where is a substantial emphasis placed on exploitation of renewable energy sources (RES). There is mentioned historical development in the first part as well as an actual approach to energy policy by EU. Further is evaluated exploitation of RES and their proprotion on electricity generation. I also provide analysis whether current energy objectives can be met. In the last part I deal with photovoltaic industry both in EU and Czechia. Energy extraction from sunshine is currently the most growing field industry all over the world and especially in EU.

Abstract

I am dealing at this thesis with the topic of competitiveness, Lisabon strategy and swedish social system of market economy. The very first part is conecerned with the various options of understanding the word competitivness. I am also focusing on the methods of measuring this value and I refer to global charts as Global Competitiveness Report or World Competitiveness Yearbook. The theme of Lisabon strategy is discussed in the second part of my thesis. The main objective of this process is to empower european competitiveness. I also evaluate high swedish competitiveness in comparsion with the system of high redistribution. Sweden is focusing on innovation, new technology and educated workforce. These factors are the main in process of enhancing swedish competitiveness.

74. Spectrum of a Dilated Honeycomb Network.

Abstract

We analyze spectrum of Laplacian supported by a periodic honeycomb lattice with generally unequal edge lengths and a δ type coupling in the vertices. Such a quantum graph has nonempty point spectrum with compactly supported eigenfunctions provided all the edge lengths are commensurate. We derive conditions determining the continuous spectral component and show that existence of gaps may depend on number-theoretic properties of edge lengths ratios. Abstract

We show that the inverse scattering problem of a quantum star graph is solvable when the connection condition is given by scale invariant Fulop-Tsutsui form. This turns out to amount to finding a parametrization of Hermitian unitary matrix based on Hermitian diagonalization. Abstract

In this paper, we study estimates for quadratic forms of the type x T A − m x , m ∈ N , for symmetric matrices. We derive a general approach for estimating this type of quadratic form and we present some upper bounds for the corresponding absolute error. Specifically, we consider three different approaches for estimating the quadratic form x T A − m x . The first approach is based on a projection method, the second is a minimization procedure, and the last approach is heuristic. Numerical examples showing the effectiveness of the estimates are presented. Furthermore, we compare the behavior of the proposed estimates with other methods that are derived in the literature. Abstract

This thesis deals with Abelian complexity of infinite words, i.e., function describing complexity of a given infinite word using sets of Parikh vectors of finite factors of the word. Some of already known results for words generated by primitive substitutions (including connection between Abelian complexity, balance function, discrepancy function and matrix of a primitive substitution) are summarized. Then an explicit formula for Abelian complexity of infinite words associated with quadratic Parry numbers is derived. In addition, a new toolkit TigrWords, which facilitates study of infinite words approximated by their prefixes and may serve to discover of new hypotheses, is described.
