The electrical resistance of single-crystalline Yb3Si5 was measured under high pressure up to 60 GPa generated in an diamond anvil cell with the main aim to search for pressure-induced long-range magnetic ordering. Though no magnetic transitions were found, a clear crossover behavior in the pressure dependence of the characteristic temperature T* was observed. The results are discussed in terms of complex influence of pressure on the Kondo temperature, specific to Yb-based heavy fermion systems.
