The increasing prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) leads to significant global health challenges, including cardiac structural and functional deficits, which in severe cases can progress to heart failure that can further strain healthcare resources. Aerobic exercise can ameliorate cardiac dysfunction in individuals with diabetes, although a comprehensive understanding of its underlying mechanisms remains elusive. This study utilizes untargeted metabolomics to reveal aerobic-exercise-activated metabolic biomarkers in the cardiac tissues of Sprague Dawley rats with T2DM. Metabolomics analysis revealed that diabetes altered 1029 myocardial metabolites, while aerobic exercise reversed 208 of these metabolites, of which 112 were upregulated and 96 downregulated. Pathway topology analysis suggested that these metabolites predominantly contributed to purine metabolism and arginine biosynthesis. Furthermore, receiver operating characteristic curve analysis identified 10 potential biomarkers, including xanthine, hypoxanthine, inosine, dGMP, l-glutamic acid, l-arginine, l-tryptophan, (R)-3-hydroxybutyric acid, riboflavin, and glucolepidiin. Finally, data from Pearson correlation analysis indicated that some metabolic biomarkers strongly correlated with cardiac function. Split‐and‐recombine (SAR) microreactor is an advanced reactor for chemical process intensification. Bubble flow in the SAR microchannel is an important phenomenon that affects reaction efficiency, however drew little attention before. This study aims to explore the underlying mechanisms of bubble splitting, retraction, and breakup behaviors in a compact SAR microchannel. Two breakup flow patterns, unilateral flow and unilateral alternate flow were identified with symmetric or asymmetric splitting, respectively. Mechanism analysis indicates that the splitting symmetry issue is related to liquid slug size, viscous effect and novel retraction behavior of a splitting filament. The retraction is induced by the interconnection and unequal pressures between the splitting filaments. The correlation between normalized breakup time and Ca number confirms the Capillary‐pressure breakup mechanism for the splitting gas filaments. Two empirical correlations for the two breakup flow patterns were proposed, which illustrate the significant contribution of bubble retraction to the breakup degree. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The rise of wearable and implantable bioelectronics necessitates stretchable electronic devices and systems to seamlessly integrate with soft biological environments. Stretchable organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs), based on conducting polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS), have emerged as a promising candidate because of their combined high stability and high transconductance. However, a stretchable, enhancement-mode PEDOT:PSS OECT (SE-OECT) is still missing, limiting the development of complementary and low-power integration systems. In this Letter, we report SE-OECTs. The devices showed typical enhancement-mode transistor behaviors with standby power as low as 0.1 μW while maintaining stable performance after 1000 cyclic tests within 50% strain. Summary: The dynamic ranking, due to its increasing importance in many applications, is becoming crucial, especially with the collection of voluminous time‐dependent data. One such application is sports statistics, where dynamic ranking aids in forecasting the performance of competitive teams, drawing on historical and current data. Despite its usefulness, predicting and inferring rankings pose challenges in environments necessitating time‐dependent modelling. This paper introduces a spectral ranker called Kernel Rank Centrality, designed to rank items based on pairwise comparisons over time. The ranker operates via kernel smoothing in the Bradley–Terry model, utilising a Markov chain model. Unlike the maximum likelihood approach, the spectral ranker is nonparametric, demands fewer model assumptions and computations and allows for real‐time ranking. We establish the asymptotic distribution of the ranker by applying an innovative group inverse technique, resulting in a uniform and precise entrywise expansion. This result allows us to devise a new inferential method for predictive inference, previously unavailable in existing approaches. Our numerical examples showcase the ranker's utility in predictive accuracy and constructing an uncertainty measure for prediction, leveraging data from the National Basketball Association (NBA). The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of intellectual capital (IC) and its components on firm financial performance using data from Chinese agricultural listed companies during 2015–2020. The moderating role of board diversity in the relationship between IC and firm financial performance is also tested. The modified value-added intellectual coefficient (MVAIC) model is used to measure IC, and board diversity is measured by several indicators, such as diversity in gender, experience, professional background, and educational background. The results suggest that the overall IC and only one element (human capital) positively influence firm financial performance. Diversity in gender, professional background, and educational background positively moderate the relationship between IC and financial performance, while experience diversity has a negative moderating effect. Among IC components, experience diversity, and educational background diversity negatively moderate the relationship between human capital and financial performance. In addition, gender diversity and experience diversity have a negative moderating effect on the relationship between physical capital and financial performance, while professional background diversity and educational background diversity have a positive moderating effect. This study can provide some new insights for managers to devise strategies to improve IC performance and strengthen corporate governance in order to achieve sustainable development of the agricultural industry. The rapid advancement of information technologies, such as the Internet of Things and big data, has created favorable conditions for digital transformation, which has main effects on the sustainable development of enterprises. Drawing upon stakeholder theory, this article employs text analysis to construct indicators for corporate digital transformation using data from A-share listed companies between 2015 and 2022. Meanwhile, ESG performance is utilized as a measure of corporate sustainable development. Through both theoretical inquiry and case study, this study investigates the influence of digital transformation on sustainable development in enterprises and arrives at the following conclusions: (1) Digital transformation exerts a substantial positive effect on the sustainable development of enterprises. Board diversity plays a moderating role in this relationship; age diversity and gender diversity weaken its promoting effect while experience diversity enhances its positive influence. These findings remain robust after conducting various tests to ensure validity and addressing endogeneity concerns; (2) Heterogeneity tests reveal that compared to non-state-owned enterprises and high-tech firms, digital transformation has a more pronounced promoting effect on sustainable development levels within state-owned enterprises and non-high-tech companies. This article offers novel research perspectives on how digitization drives corporate sustainability in the digital era while providing practical insights for companies aiming to achieve both digital transformation and sustainable development. Laser bending forming, as a flexible and die-less forming approach, facilitates the three-dimensional shaping of sheets through the generation of thermal stress via laser-material interaction. In this study, the bending forming characteristics of CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy sheets induced by nanosecond pulse laser irradiation were systematically investigated. The effects of parameters including laser power, scanning speed, number of scans, scanning interval, and sheet size on the bending angle, cross-sectional morphology, and hardness were studied in detail under both the laser single-line and multi-line scanning modes. The experimental results confirmed the effectiveness of nanosecond pulse laser irradiation for achieving accurate formation of CoCrFeMnNi sheets, with the successful fabrication of J, L, and U-shaped metal components. Apart from the forming ability, the cross-sectional hardness was significantly increased due to the grain refinement effect of nanosecond pulse laser irradiation. Furthermore, employing the laser single-line scanning mode enabled the effective rectification of overbending parts, showcasing complete recovery for small-angle overbending, and a remarkable 91% recovery for larger-angle overbending. This study provides an important basis for the bendability of CoCrFeMnNi sheets by laser forming and elucidates the evolution of the microstructure and mechanical properties in the bending region. Our preliminary study identified dairy cow placenta extract (CPE) as a mixture of peptides with potent antioxidant activity both in vivo and in vitro. However, the specific antioxidant peptides (AOPs) responsible for this activity were not yet identified. In the current study, we employed virtual screening and chromatography techniques to isolate two peptides, ANNGKQWAEVF (CP1) and QPGLPGPAG (CP2), from CPE. These peptides were found to be less stable under extreme conditions such as high temperature, strong acid, strong alkali, and simulated digestive conditions. Nevertheless, under normal physiological conditions, both CP1 and CP2 exhibited significant antioxidant properties, including free-radical scavenging, metal chelating, and the inhibition of lipid peroxidation. They also up-regulated the activities of intracellular antioxidant enzymes in response to hydrogen-peroxide-induced oxidative stress, resulting in reduced MDA levels, a decreased expression of the Keap1 gene and protein, and increased levels of the Nrf2 and HO-1 genes and proteins. Furthermore, CP1 demonstrated superior antioxidant activity compared to CP2. These findings suggest that CP1 and CP2 hold potential for mitigating oxidative stress in vitro and highlight the efficacy of virtual screening as a method for isolating AOPs within CPE. Adjuvants are of critical value in vaccine development as they act on enhancing immunogenicity of antigen and inducing long‐lasting immunity. However, there are only a few adjuvants that have been approved for clinical use, which highlights the need for exploring and developing new adjuvants to meet the growing demand for vaccination. Recently, emerging evidence demonstrates that the cGAS‐STING pathway orchestrates innate and adaptive immunity by generating type I interferon responses. Many cGAS‐STING pathway agonists have been developed and tested in preclinical research for the treatment of cancer or infectious diseases with promising results. As adjuvants, cGAS‐STING agonists have demonstrated their potential to activate robust defense immunity in various diseases, including COVID‐19 infection. This review summarized the current developments in the field of cGAS‐STING agonists with a special focus on the latest applications of cGAS‐STING agonists as adjuvants in vaccination.
